Lily smiled hearing the door bell ring, she was upstairs in the library waiting for everyone to arrive. She had carefully uncovered the board she and Tallulah had brought to her house earlier in the week. Her mom hovered at the door like a nervous bride to be and Lily decided to make a retreat to the library until she was need so she would be fussed over.
It was not often she had company and her mother got so antsy every time. She thought he mother might die if she went or heaven forbid Xander went on a date. Lily did not think that her date would survive an encounter with her mom.
At the sound of the doorbell, she jumped up and literally ran into Xander in the hallway, landing on her bottom with a loud thump. "Ow," she whined before being hoisted up by her brother.
"You know what to do," she said smiling before heading to the door, "your on guard duty. Distract mom."
Xander nodded and Lily ran down the stairs, while her mother open the door.
"Lily blossom, no running in the house," she yelled loudly as she pulled the door open.

"Hi!" said Tallulah cheerfully as she flounced in. She had a smiley facade on, hopefully leaving no suspicion that this was anything besides a simple gathering of friends. "Thank you for having us, Mrs. Jacobs," she said cheerfully, and hurried up the stairs. "Lily's in the library, isn't she?"
"Lily," called Tallulah, hurrying down the hallway. It took her a couple wrong doors before she found herself back in the study where the board was set up. "Hi," she said to the redhead, leaving the door cracked behind her. "I'm the first one here, huh? I don't know who all's coming, Jaimie's folks made him go home this weekend."
She frowned at this - she didn't like having core members of the team missing, but then, what could you do? Parents were parents. She made a cursory inspection of the board.
"Yup," she said, "Everything's where it should be."
She settled into a desk chair and crossed her ankles neatly. "So I now we wait. What did you tell your mom this was?"

Xavier was actually somewhat dreading this. He looked much like he'd gotten beaten the s**t out of - the bruise on his face was fading quicky, a little too quickly, his father had noted. He just didn't like these kind of things. He'd tried to convince Tallulah that he would rather use the rest, but his 'little sister' wasn't falling for it.
He knew how these kinds of things went - stuck with mostly people he did not know, the quiet boy would end up sitting in a corner and not doing much. He would be more useful in bed.
He stopped in front of the door, and then knocked. He was fairly certain Bell was not far behind - she'd pretty much been his second shadow lately, and while she was willing to give him the appearances of coming on his own, it wouldn't surprise him if she had been trailing him ever since he left his apartment.

Lily noticed she'd forgotten her shoes before she made it downstairs and ran back up to put them on. Of course Tallulah walked into the library saving her the trouble of coming back downstairs.
She turned and grinned, nodding. "Yeah I was very careful not to knock anything off while I took the cover off of it."
She walked over to the board and sighed, "I told we were all discussing college options, visits, and applications. She was estatic, a bit over excited I'm having company, but Xander will distract her so we will be good."
Lily turned and headed to the door, "Could you help me get the snack from the kitchen. I do not want my mom to have any reason to come into the library."
At the knock on the door Lily's mom open the door and invited the boy in. She could not believe her eyes at the boys state, but at the same time it did not surprise. "Hello, dear," she greeted him.

Indeed, Bell was not far behind, however as Xavier knocked on the door she at least attempted to make her appearance coincidental. As Lilly greeted him, she was just walking up the porch steps.
"I'm glad I'm not late this time," Bell said with a light laugh.

"Ah." He somehow managed to let out. This would have been easier if Lily had gotten the door, and not who he assumed to be her mother. She was staring at his face and his arm, this was obvious, but he let it go. "Good day, madam. We're some of Lily's friends, can we come in ?"
Yeah, he didn't buy coincidental. But he didn't say anything, either.
"You were late last time ?" He asked, idly. 'Last time' was purposely kept vague.

Lily ran up to the door noticing it was open and smiled at her mom than her teammate. "Hey guys. No Bell you are just on time. Aurora's not here yet, but I was just about to get snack and head back up stairs. Tallulah can take you up to library, while I grab the snacks. By the time I'm done I bet Aurora will be here and we can get started."
Lily smiled and headed down the hall for the kitchen.

"That's a relief," Bell said to Lilly, before explaining last time's lateness, "Yeah, I was a little late to the last meeting because I was running off copies of my notes from the Criminal Investigation siminar, 'camp'...whatever, thing that I went to over the summer."
Since most of the team had been out of commission, and Bell was still too shaken from her incident with Serandite and TIsiphone to patrol alone, Bell had gone and done something probably more productive. At least it had gotten her out of the city for a while, and away from the rampant depression that had gripped the place over the past summer.

Running her hands through her hair, Selena approached the door of her classmate, also knocking gently. Like many before them, Lily's mother opened the door, and the dark-haired girl gave a friendly smile. "Afternoon Mrs. Jacobs - I'm here to see Lily?"
She was ushered in and directed to the group gathering on the stairs, and offered a smile and a shy wave to everyone present. "Hey guys. What's new?"

"Selena!" exclaimed Tallulah happily, perhaps a bit too loudly. She'd taken to welcoming each Basterd pretty rambunctiously, perhaps because she was feeling the need to assert that she was still captain, even if they'd been relocated to Lily's house. "We're going to get started as soon as everyone gets here," she explained, quieting a bit.
"Were you at the Halloween ball?" she asked. Finding out who of their number had and hadn't been there would go a long way towards knowing how much explanation they needed to give.
"The investigation's coming together," said Tallulah, motioning to the board, "But there's still holes. I haven't managed to confirm whether my hunch about the parallels was right or not yet."
This bothered her. She wanted to know.
And she hadn't asked Van to ask Perry, but that was a private matter.

-It seemed showing up late was becoming a habit for Aurora, something she would have been ashamed of if she hadn't been so lost in her thoughts. The smile she offered Lily's mother as she entered was forced but polite. Which was a shame.. because Aurora loved spending times with mothers.. considering her was lost so long ago. But it was hard to smile with what weighed on her mind.
Her greeting to the group was equally chilly, settling down quietly in a chair to wait after she'd said her hellos. Aurora's legs folded in a ladylike manner, before her hands came to rest in her lap. The information she had was important.. and disheartening. She was saddened.. so much so that she could barely feel that terrible feeling of 'getting the better of him' that had been following her in the days since her patrol with Taranis.-

Xavier followed Lily and Bell toward the library, silent for the most part. His left hand was on his pocket, clutching a familiar phone - the only senshi item he still had in his possession - tight.
He also had his own information to give. Well, more of a request, really, though figuring that fact out had been a little disturbing to him at first.
He slid into the room much like a ghost, sitting down in one of the chairs.

Lily grinned seeing most every one had made it. She was eager for the meeting to start, but when she looked around it did not seem the other's were. Xavier was quiet and so was Aurora. Her mood dampened slightly. She looked to the closed library door, staring at it for a moment, the were only missing two now.
She wondered if the two would be no shows. She already heard Jamie wouldn't be there.

After the rumors Rose had heard about the Halloween ball debacle, she was not at all surprised when another Basterd meeting was arranged. Rose hadn’t been at the ball - her new shelter kitty had gotten sick – so she was eager to hear the details of what happened. Plus, in the time since the last Basterds meeting, she had held a meeting with her new fledgling team, so she figured it was time to mention that tidbit to her Basterds teammates.
Of course, just as Rose had been preparing to leave her house, her foster cat had thoughtfully thrown up on her, forcing her to change blouses. As a result she had pedaled fast to Lily’s house, and was panting by the time she arrived. “ Hi… Mrs. Jacobs…”
Rose offered a small smile of apology for her tardiness before she flopped onto the ground, still trying to catch her breath.

"Hi, Rose!" said Tallulah happily, and took a quick count of the assembled members. Just Pasha missing, then, and if he really didn't make it in time she could just bring him up to speed later. They had plenty of time at school or on patrol or just around the neighborhood for her to fill him in.
"Um, Pasha will probably, um, get here when he gets here," said the team leader, getting to her feet. "I'm glad you all could make it. Just to get you up to speed, Rose, there was an attack at the city Halloween Ball, and we think it was a setup. There was also a new piece of the puzzle introduced, and Beryl and Queen Serenity showed up for a bit..."
She jabbed a finger at a piece of paper on the board, front and center and in big bold letters.
"Crystals," she said. "Plural, because even though there was just one at the party, we think there's more. And I want us to get out hands on one of them so we can see what they do."
"So," she concluded, "Constant vigilance and keep an eye out for anything suspicious. Any questions?"
