Winter was coming. There was no doubt in his mind about that. The chill air of the mountains spoke of moisture on the way, and the big stallion stood silently on a lone precipice, his head lifted and fixed on the horizon. By nature, Cormorant was a solitary beast, and only ventured out when boredom had taken its toll. His wings stirred at his sides before they finally beat at the thin air, once, twice, and the mutant took to the skies as soundlessly as he could.

The lower lands tended to be more friendly towards those who were not used to the mountain's climate, both winged and not, and Cormorant winged over head, his dark eyes on the lookout. No one. Not a soul, not a thing! It was really rather disappointing, and after a moment, the stallion allowed himself to land with a rumbling sigh of displeasure. In a few months time, or maybe even shorter, these paths would be far too slippery for even the most adventurous of Soquili to scale.

His dark eyes slipped across the base of the mountain once more, misted breaths slipping from his nostrils. Perhaps if he wandered further down, lower into the lands, some amusement might crop itself up with some provoking.

Cold winds were beginning to rush by. Arya was nearing the mountains, and sure enough, she soon saw the tips of the snow covered mountain tops of the East. Ah, how lovely it felt to be home. If there was anywhere that Arya felt most at ease, it was by the mountains. Their majestic heights towered above all the others, and Arya loved the feeling of being high up.

She beat her strong wings powerfully against the increasing winds. Her flight was elegant and soft despite the worsening weather. Winter was coming. But, as she neared the mountain tops, her wings were beginning to feel sore. She soared past a couple of the peeks, scanning around for a good place to land. Among the lower lands, her eye caught on another horse. From what she could gather in that small instant, it was a pink stallion. Who in their right mind would be crazy enough to venture at the foot of the Eastern mountains? she thought. At least they're not trying to climb it. She dismissed the stranger, and soared somewhat lower.

Flapping her wings slower, she let her body drop into a clearing, her hooves making patterns in the shifting snow. She folded her wings gently into her body and stretched her limbs. Time to hunt. she thought, Maybe there's a hare around. With that thought, she slowly started walking, her silvery sleeves sweeping the snow as she walked. She moved like a ghost; quiet but dangerous.

The distant sound of beating wings was enough to make Cormorant pause for a moment, his eyes immediately fixing on the sky just long enough to catch sight of something--someone--zipping past before they were gone. He didn't think as he made to follow, choosing to travel by foot to keep stealth on his side if he hadn't already been spotted. A break in the copse of trees ahead rewarded him with a sight that warmed his blood.

A mare, winged, like he, and all alone in these cold lands. Her dark hair was nearly long enough to rival his own, though the stallion jealously knew that his was in much better condition. Still, that was no reason not to play nice, and he let his next step fall heavily even as he shouldered his way out into the clearing.

"I thought I saw someone!" His tone was cheerful and nothing but pleasant; it was always so funny how kind words could somehow detract from his monstrous appearance in the eyes of others. "You must be brave, flying around in this weather. Unless of course, you're used to it...?"

When she heard footsteps in the snow, Arya froze still and tensed up. She knew better than to let a stranger creep up on her. She turned to face him, and sure enough, when he appeared into sight, she stared right back at him expectantly.

At first, she didn't know what to make of him. He was... pink. He was a mix between a uni and a kalona, and had large wings full of feathers, unlike the leathery horned wings a kalona would have. He must be such a mess, and a complete psychological wreck. Heck, a uni kalona was the most unfortunate crossbreed that has the misfortune of being bred into the world. She stared back at him coldly. The only reason she hadn't taken off was because he had wings too, which made him worthy enough for a conversation. But why a winged Soquili would choose to travel on foot was beyond her. It was a low she refused to stoop to. Flying was elegant, and for the powerful and strikingly dangerous.

His voice came out soft, whereas his black eyes spoke differently. She didn't trust him.
"I fly the mountains a lot. The wind has a way with me." She explained with a soft string of sugar-coated words. Although pure evil wasn't in her blood or nature, she despised many things, and kindness was one of them. His tone of voice agitated her.

One thing she enjoyed was to lure males into her trap. She enjoyed being able to toy with others. And to do this, she used her stunning beauty. This stallion may be part kalona, but she wasn't frightened of him. Like a wild beast trapped in a female's body, she walked towards him, placing each hoof in front of the other and leaving a trail of snow prints. She tossed her mane lightly and stared intently into his eyes.
"This place is rather desolate." she spoke in a musical, gentle voice. "Why are you here?"

There. Now he could get a better look at her, and just as decisively as she eyed him, he eyed her back, resisting the urge to bare his teeth a little more in his grin. Judging him, was she? The little tart. Well, he'd have the last laugh if things all went well, and kept his features innocently blank.

"A way with you," He repeated, musing, and though his tone suggested nothing--well, he might have been doubting her. "I see. I suppose that makes two of us."

Cormorant hadn't expected her to approach, but only angled his head to get a better look at her, staying firmly where he listened the purr of her question. Oh, yes, she was a beauty. From the way she moved, she knew it, too.

"Where else would you expect someone who looks like me to lurk?" Cormorant laughed, a flick of his tail gesturing to himself. "Surely you don't think I'd be tolerated by the more friendly locals." No, he knew he looked quite a sight, no matter how easy it was to pretend he was something sweet.

"I could ask the same of you, Miss. You're not unlike a ghost, with all this snow..."

As she approached him, his eyes were blank, not revealing whether or not he was vulnerable to her charm. She had to assume that he had been affected on some level. Everyone was.

As she neared him close enough to smell his scent, she began circling him. He was using an awfully friendly tone, and everything about him seemed to be saying one thing while her instincts were saying the other. Yes, he had noticed that she moved and looked like a ghost. But oddly enough, he wasn't frightened. If he truly wasn't like his looks and was kind and sweet after all, he would harbor some fear towards her. Was he playing mind-games? This angered her. Only she got to play mind games.

"Maybe I am a ghost." her voice sung. "Why doesn't that scare you?" she was making her way towards the other side of the snowy clearing, at his back. If he tried to do something and attack her, she'd have the upper hand. Despite being cautious, she couldn't ignore the feeling that she was being pulled to him. It was alarming.

Was she on the defensive? How quaint. Cormorant's dark eyes slid slowly to their corners in order to follow this pale, almost eerie mare, watching in case she suddenly decided to strike him. A laughable thought, but he'd seen stupider attempts before.

As her voice crooned in his ears, somewhere from behind, he had to resist the urge to twitch and only turned his head over his shoulder, as though the thought that she might sink her teeth into him had never crossed his mind. "I've seen much worse than ghosts, my dear." He grinned at her.

Really, now wasn't this intriguing. "Why would you want to be scary anyway? Such a pretty face. You don't look very suited to frightening anyone--but that isn't a bad thing, is it?" Unless that was what she wanted to be. But somehow, Cormorant doubted it. No sense in getting curious. Still, he'd have been lying if he said he wasn't waiting for an answer, still smiling as patiently as ever. Inside, he was impatient.

Arya listened to him intently, waiting for him to strike. He seemed awfully calm considering the fact that he was all alone in the mountains with her. Personally, she didn't really believe she would hurt him. At least not physically that is. Despite her tendency to enjoy hunting, she found it very displeasing to attack others of her own kind. She just wanted him to fear her a little, and her plan wasn't working.

He was playing tricks with her. She flicked her long mane in irritation as she considered the possibility that he was toying with her emotions as she was doing to him. Why was he calling her his dear?

She ignored his inquiries into why she wanted him to fear her. He was smart, but not smart enough. She completed her full circle around him and faced him, now closer to his face than ever. She wanted him to know that she wasn't going to harm him. Besides, why not have a little fun? She was solitary, and he was interesting enough for her to stay intrigued.

"For argument's sake, lets say I'm worse than a ghost." she began. "Does that scare you, or would you be willing be take a chance?" She fixed her white eyes on his.
