Ever since the day when a little orange, black, and white clam came into Dark's midst Nyx found her life turned upside down. From the moment she saw the clam she felt an obligation to make sure that it stayed safe, though it did seem to complicate things, after all what would Sammy boy think. But then again there was that one day where he had protected her and the clam from Dark's oogleing and still seemed to show favoritism towards her despite her desperate need to protect the little clam, so maybe things wouldn't turn out so bad after all.
Nyx was tired of spending so much time in the den having Sybil go out and fetch fish for her when she was around or watching the little one. She was becoming stir crazy however so she had, Sybil bring her leaves and things to her last time she visited and Nyx had constructed a basket for the clam. Now she could take it out of the den with her, and that's what she had done this fine day as she padded along the river bank in hopes that she might find Samael in the spot where they had met before.

Samael was in the same spot he and Nyx first met, but he wasn't swimming to fish or relax, finding the temperature in the water to be too cold for him, even if his fur was thicker to match the coming winter. He would hunt when he was hungry, but other then that, he wanted to sun himself out on the shore.
His round ear flicked a bit and he lifted his head, looking to see who was coming in his direction. When he saw a familair, dark yet light colored otter come his way, he smiled and stood up, seeing she was carrying something.

As Nyx was approaching the clearing where she had met Samael, she noticed a familiar form and found her step get a little lighter, and a warmth fill her up and she felt like she could possibly be glowing, though she really hoped that she wasn't.
Padding her way over to Samael she set the basket down with the clam safely tucked inside and gave him a big smile, "hey there Sammy boy..." she purred at him over joyed to see him there.

He sat himself down and gave a welcoming smirk at the sight of Nyx, wagging his tail a little when she got closer, "Hello to you as well Nyxy. What are you doing out in a day like this?" he asked, leaning over to see if he could peer into the leafy basket.

She smiled a bit at him calling her Nyxy, though she hated herself for liking it when he did so because normally she hated that nickname, but from him it seemed to set all sorts of emotions running through her.
"Well to be honest, I was looking for you..." she said with a slight blush though she refused to let it show. "I've been stowed away in the den ever since Dark had obtained this clam you see... I kind of won't let her near it I don't think she'll protect it from all those things you told me about. So I've made it my duty..." She said and pulled back a leaf in the basket that was covering the clam.

He smiled, feeling good she sought him out, and he looked down at the clam she uncovered, "Well, it isn't bad to let her at least see it, I hightly doubt she will actually harm it. But it is good you are keeping it close, that way the pup will know who you are when it finally emerges." he said, looking to her again.

She couldn't help but blush and look down when he looked up at her the way he did after looking at the clam, and she was trying to figure out why all these funny feelings seemed to only emerge when he was around. After all she was an elder demon, blushing shouldn't be in her vocabulary never mind her bodily functions. "Oh yes I've let her well look at it a few times now, but still I much rather keep it in my keeping where I know it will be safe. And now that I have this handy little basket, I have some more freedom on moving around. Though I still haven't quiet figured out fishing and hunting and keeping it safe. Sybil is sweet and has been bringing me fish, but I certainly can't keep her coming around daily like I have been..." She said pondering things.

He smiled at her and chuckled, "Ahhh, one of the sacrifices of being a good mother. Well, why not go fishing now? There are still plenty of fish in the water right now and I can watch the clam while you hunt." he offered her.

Now Nyx knew she was blushing extremely bright feeling the heat radiate off of her cheeks when he had called her a good mother. She pawed the ground slightly, "if you don't mind... I mean you're really the only one I would ever trust in keeping watch over the clam." She said and then quickly realized what could be implied there and hoped she didn't cross a boundry that would make things become extremely awkward.

The grin on his face got bigger and he went and curled up a bit around the clam, "Go on, I am sure you are hungry, I certainly don't mind watching the clam. Might be good practice for me." he said with a wink, though he wasn't sure where that came from.

Nyx nodded and gave him a quick nuzzle though she couldn't explain exactly why she did it, before she padded over to the riverbank and dove in, the water was colder then she would have liked even with her winter coat grown in, but it felt good to be swimming in the water and hunting for fish and crawdads.
As she was swimming around chasing after a good sized fish a thought struck her that made her pause and let the fish get away. Practice? And a wink... shaking her head she didn't let herself think too much on this and went after another unsuspecting fish, before getting out of the water and bringing her catch over to Samael and the clam to share.

When she nuzzled him, he was shocked, expecting her to roll her eyes at his words, but he slightly nuzzled her back. He watched her slip into the water and he sighed a bit, looking down at the clam and laying a paw over it, "Ahhhh, these feelings....so confusing and so wonderful at the same time. I hope you won't have to deal with this for a long time little one." he said quietly to the clam.
Looking up, he saw Nyx swimming over, a fish in her mouth and he smiled that she was able to find something to catch.

By the time she had gotten over to Samael and the clam she had made certain to have killed the fish she then laid it down on the ground near them and gave a grin. She however then padded back towards the water and shook her fur out there so she wouldn't get Samael or the little clam wet.
Unfortunately for her this also made her fur become a giant puff ball that was going to take way to long to groom down into its proper place, so she chose to deal with the embarassment and the sure to be teasing of how she looked, in the opt of delighting in the fish with Samael.

Samael mentally chuckled when she shook her fur out and then fluffed out, but he didn't say anything, just waited for her to eat first since she was taking so much of her time just taking care of the clam.

Laying herself down by Samael, a bit closer then she really mentally meant to tore at the fish and ate the sliver before she looked over to him with a smile. "Please do have some there's pleanty here really." She said nudging the fish over closer to him, and then went to rip off another piece of the meat off the bone to eat.
