"That's a little gross." He mumbled, giving a short chuckle before shaking it off with a flick before continuing on his way... to no avail. Already he could feel more of that wet and messy mud clinging to his hooves as he walked along the side of E-qua U-na-de-li-i, "the lake". Raised over in the plains with his parents, sisters [Though one was off and away doing the whole hero thing now..] and just recently joined by a new brother and sister, the male didn't really have any idea of what to expect when it came to this lake he had heard of. What exactly was a lake? Was it as salty and wet as the ocean he had seen recently?

Most of his questions had been answered when he arrived that afternoon, happily making his way along the edges of the lake, the heat of the afternoon sun eventually leading to him dipping himself in. Soleil had stuck around the lake that day, and now the sky was starting to darken as night approached. Spotting one of the larger trees by the lakeside, he made his way over, settling himself down in the grass and leaning against it. "Hm." Sol' still had one question left nagging him.

Would there be other Soquili around?

Amarante had actually been at the lake earlier, but around the other side. She had noticed the sky getting dark and knew it was time to find a nice comfortable spot to sleep. She hadn't seen the other soquili and hadn't noticed how muddy the trail had become.

As Amarante walked she felt the mud suck her hooves in, "Ew, this is not a good spot." She tugged her hoof out of the mud only to have the other three get stuck deeper. "Come on..." She said as she struggled. She was starting to get a bit scared, what if she couldn't get out of the mud?! "Help!" She called, hoping someone would be near.

What was that? So much for that nap he'd been contemplating.. Ears perking up at the sound of someone crying out, Soleil shifted his gaze to look around the lake. There was no one particularly close by, but.. Oh, there! He spotted the faint form of another Soquili in the dark, much smaller, off on the opposite side of the lake. He wasn't one to just leave someone stranded! "Hold on over there, I'm comin'!" The stallion called back, heaving himself up from his resting spot and starting the short little trek via a strong and hurried gallop to the opposite side.

"Hey there. You stuck in the mud?" Sol' greeted as he approached, coming to realize quickly that this mare was not any ordinary Soquili, but a.. a... Darn. What were they called? Those that were so much like the deer?.. Darn. The term was avoiding him at that moment. But that didn't matter right now, what mattered was helping this little lady out! "Don't worry, I'll help you out. Don't fret." Soleil gave her a polite smile, reaching out with his muzzle and giving a reassuring touch at her neck, not wanting to get himself stuck along with her. That wouldn't be good, now, would it?

Amarante's ears flicked as she heard someone respond. Someone was around! She sighed in relief. She pulled her hooves a bit more to no avail, still stuck. How did she get herself in such a situation? Wasn't she more careful than this, normally?

"Yes, I can't seemed to get myself out." She replied as the other soquili came into range. She smiled gratefully back at him. "Thank you so much. I keep pulling and nothing." She pulled up on her front leg to show what she meant. Would he be able to help or was she going to be stuck forever? A frustrated tear rolled down her eye as she looked down.

"Nothing, hm? Well, we'll just have to fix that." The stallion gave an affirmative nod of his head, blowing a curled lock of mane out and away from his face as he looked down at her legs. "My name's Soleil. Feel free to call me Sol', though~" He said absentmindedly as he got a better look at her stuck legs, a look of thought on his face. Hm, hm, hm. Oh boy. Where to start? Maybe some traction would help, some grass or something to make a better surface for that free hoof of hers.

"I think putting something under that hoof of yours could help out." Soleil said as he stood up fully once more, motioning over to the grasses and foliage near the lake's shore before turning to look back at her. "It just might do the tri-.. Oh. Oh hey, don't cry, miss." He was a little startled at first, seeing her like that, but snapped out of it soon enough, taking a step towards her and giving a brush of his nose at her cheek, speaking softly. "I promise I'll get you out. Just don't mess up that pretty little face of yours. No need for tears, hm?"

Giving a small grin, he pulled himself away from her to go and fetch the needed grass.. only to have his own hoof stuck in the mud. "Oh." With a grunt and a sudden yank, he managed to pull himself out with an effort, mud flinging at himself messily as he did. "S-see?" Sol' said with a pant, flashing a cheeky grin to the mare with mud splattered on his face.

"Amarante..." She said back to his name. "That is my name." She didn't have a nick name, at least not yet. She hadn't met too many other soquili and hadn't been offered one.

Amarante nodded her head has he brushed her face. "Ok." She said and shook away her tears. It made since to use something for traction. She watched as his hoof got stuck and he pulled himself out. Why wasn't it so easy for her? Then she smiled as he grinned at her with mud covering her face.

"Amarante? That's a unique name." Soleil couldn't help but give a smile back as she began to cheer up, not bothering to get the splattered mud off of his face. Taking a step or two back away from her, he gave a curt nod of his head. "I'll be back in a second, hold on." Setting off nearby to look for any type of foliage to place under her hoof for some traction, he returned a moment later with a good sized clump in his mouth, mostly grass, but with a few of the usual assorted plants you'd find when pulling up handfuls of grass.

"M'kay.." Placing it down under her free hoof to cover up the mud, Sol' put on a small grin as he raised his head. "There. You pull and push as much as you can manage. I'll be right here to support you if you stumble or anythin', alright? I won't leave ya."

"Thank you." She said for really everything. She had watched him pull out the grass and then place it down for her. Now, it was her job. She pushed and pulled herself free and went forward a bit. She felt herself start to fall forward and looked wide-eyed at the stallion.
