Fremere was hunched over in the kid section of the book store with his face more or less buried in a book of fairytales. His mom was getting a coffee at the store’s café and reading some more adult like books and he was allowed to come here. His mom said he could even pick one out today and she’d get it for him!
This book was amazing! Princesses, princes, adventure, TRUE LOVE that lasted for ETERNITY! He was all over that! The boy grinned gleefully as he kept reading on, very much in delight and very much absorbed.

"A-A-ACHOOowww..."
Lilah had been carrying a whole stack of rather large books. She still loved her picture books, but she decided she wanted to try some more advanced reading, and so had picked up Alice in Wonderland, Wizard of Oz, The Hobbit and several others and had been precariously carrying them in her still small arms. When she sneezed (after all, some of the tomes she had picked up were a little dusty), not only had the books fallen, but she managed to trip over them as they fell.
So now Lilah was lying on the floor, not sure what hurt more, her knees or her pride.
At least no one saw her, right?

“Bless you!” The boy piped up from behind his book when he heard the sneeze, apparently well concealed by nearby stacked books and the one his face was buried in. The boy looked up from his book though at the sound of books clattering to the floor along with a girl as well. Fremere put his book down to the side as he immediately jumped to his feet, a little confused over what to do first, pick up the books for the girl, or tend to the girl?
He made his mind up rather quickly and was immediately at Lilah’s side, his hands reaching out to grasp one of her own hands as he knelt in front of her, staring at her intently with obvious concern and worry written on his face. “Are you alright?”

Someone rushed to Lilah's side and offered a hand, which the little girl took, a bit reluctantly, as she turned bright red. Darnit, someone had seen! Oh well.
She brushed off her knees, making sure she hadn't scratched them up too badly. They seemed ok. Just her bruised ego now.
"Y-yeah, I'm-" she started, taking a step back, startled a bit by how he was staring at her. "Er...Fine. I'm fine." Lilah looked at him curiously. He had bright orangey red hair and a jewel in the middle of his forehead. Cool. She wanted to poke at it, but that would probably be rude (So instead she just stared at it for a few minutes).
"I'm Lilah!" she finally said, smiling widely.

The boy totally didn’t seem to understand the concept of personal space and he wasn’t at all put off by Lilah’s startled behavior at his forwardness.
“Oh good, I’m really glad!” The boy replied quite cheerfully, still holding onto her hand with both of his own, even when she took a step back. Fremere moved back to his feet again once the girl was off the floor and he gave her a look over to make sure she really was alright before letting go of her hand after he gave it a squeeze. The boy then started to be helpful and started to go about collecting the girl’s fallen books with a bout of enthusiasm of energy.
“I’m Fremere, it’s nice to meet you! That’s a really nice name, Lilah.”

Lilah couldn't help but giggle. This was the second person to tell her that her name was really nice. She liked it and all, but she wondered why it seemed so special to everyone. It was so everyday to her (maybe because she heard it everyday)!
"It's nice to meet you too, Fremere!" she said happily. She looked over his shoulder at the book of fairy tales he'd left behind, and gasped.
"Oh! Are you reading that??" she asked excitedly. "I love fairy tales! Have you read the one about the Glass Slipper??"

The boy finished collecting all of the girl’s fallen books and then presented them to her rather proudly. Why yes, he was a gentleman! When she asked about the book he was reading, Fremere looked over his shoulder and grinned excitedly as well.
“Uh huh!” He replied “Where she rode around in a carriage made from a pumpkin and then the prince chased her and then his heart missed her when she got away and then he set out looking for her and then he put the glass slipper on her and then they lived happily ever after! Happily in love forever.” The boy took a deep breath after his long drawn out sentence and then let out a dreamy sigh. Eternal love. “The one I’m reading now, the princess fell asleep after she poked her finger!”
