 Nessie surfaced, something she was doing increasingly more of these days. She shook the water molecules off, then blinked rapidly. Not far away, there stood a small pinkish looking foal with some sort of...costume? She froze trying not to scare the little one. Nessie didn't often get to associate with foals, and when she did most ran in terror.

 *Sorry missing cert right now XD* "Water, your so much fun!* Ameline exclaimed out loud to the water lapping at her hooves. She slapped her tail against its surface, happily playing on the shore.
Hearing some kind of disturbance in the water she looked up, not entirely sure what she was looking for until something rose out of it. Excitedly, Ameline searched through her brain trying to think of what was there. Having little experience with other creatures, all she could do was stare with her mouth agape.

((That's okay! I'd just try to get it up before they do November RP stats so that you can get credit ^_^))
Nessie smiled, her crooked teeth showing oddly. She hated that her smile looked mean or evil. It wasn't who she was, or at least...she didn't think that was who she was.
She swam a few feet closer and eyed the young foal. "Hello," her voice was low and rough from disuse. She eyed the foal, who was very pink and not at all scared looking. She looked excited?
No one had ever been excited to see Nessie before.

Being a curious one, Ameline plunged into the water and swam a little closer. She had never seen a soquili like this before. When she smiled at her, Ameline couldn't help but smile back.
"HI! I like your teeth, they're so pointy!" she said excitedly. Ameline sank a bit when she talked, still a little young and new at swimming. Getting her head above water she continued smiling enthusiastically.
"Who are you?" she asked slowly, not wanting to tread more water.

Nessie smiled again. It was really odd to find someone so friendly to her. She watched the foal struggle a bit, but she was keeping her head up pretty good. "Thank you."
She laughed, low and gutterally--it was the first time she could ever remember laughing. "I'm Nessie." Nessie flipped the water lazily with her tail. The little foal was cute, a bit naive...but maybe that wasn't too bad?

"Your welcome! I wish i had sharp teeth, but mine are dull and boring." Ameline curled up her lips to show hers off. Putting her head beneath the water she started blowing bubbles. Water was so awesome!
"Nessie, I'm Ameline." She stated once she got her head back out of the water. Watching Nessie flip the water with her tail, Ameline copied her, seemingly shocked by the difference in the two tails. Her new friend was quite different! "So.... what are you?"

"I'm..." Nessie struggled for the word. Monster? Freak? Well, it was true but what should she say? "I'm...me." It was the simplest answer she could muster.
She watched the little girl flip and play in the water. It was really quite cute. "You're not afraid of me?" It shocked Nessie, "And be glad you don't have teeth like mine."

Ameline smiled at her answer, "Thats cool! I'm me too." Being unique is awesome, and this soquili before her is very unique.
Ameline stopped playing for a moment. Should she be afraid of her? ....Nah, Nessie didn't seem like the soquili that could hurt her. "Why would I be afraid of you?" she asked. "I really do wish I had though! Then I could catch all those fish that try and get away from me. Horrible things at playing tag."
Sensing a slightly serious change in her new friend, Ameline sucked up a mouthful of water, spitting a little stream out at Nessie.

Nessie blinked and turned her face suddenly. She had been caught off guard by the foal spitting water at her. It was playing with her.
She hadn't played since she was a foal. Everyone was too afraid of her. They purposefully distanced themselves or played games she couldn't play...Or worst of all, they'd make her the villain of the game.
She splashed the foal back, laughing. It was the first time in years she'd laughed. "I'm glad." It was simple answer, but one applied to how she was feeling and everything the foal had asked. It was nice not to be feared.

Ameline giggled at Nessie. It's been awhile since someone's played with her. Usually other soquili just get annoyed and leave or don't believe in playing.
"There isn't anything better than spending the day in the water. By far one of the more entertaining elements." She stated. She was jealous that Nessie gets to spend her time in the water. Ameline always had to go back onto land to live. Such a boring life walking around on dirt.
Enjoying the fact that her plan worked in cheering her friend up, Ameline tried to dodge the splashes, she submerged herself. Carefully swimming deep enough to be out of eyes view. She lurked underneath Nessie, waiting for the opportune time to scare.

Nessie giggled, another thing she hadn't done since she was a foal. It was very weird, suddenly she just felt young again. And wanted. Most of all wanted.
This child had no sense of fear for her, no discretion that she might be a monster. Rather naive, but nice of her. Nessie wished others could see her in this way. It would be nice to have friends....friends. The word was almost foreign on her tongue. It wasn't something she'd had much experience with.
She'd never had much chance at playing, never was liked only feared. It was so nice to play...the words echoed again and again in her mind in a soothing manner.
Shaking it off, she realized the foal had disappeared.
She had left, they always left...

Ameline patiently waited below for Nessie to make a move. Why wasn't she doing anything? Did she even want to play with her? Of course she did! She had laughed and that meant she was enjoying it... hopefully. Ameline certainly did not want to bother her.
Slowly she started running low on air. Sure she was kelpie, but she was still young. Ameline shot upwards, aiming for Nessie's tail. Resurfacing she grabbed it carefully in her mouth and gave a few tugs.
"I'm right here!" She shouted playfully. Her friend appeared to be saddened by something. "Are you okay?"

Nessie was barely able to stop the snarl that rose in her throat unbidden. It was nature of course. Her nature...the nature of a monster. She shook of the ill feelings. She was not a monster. She was not!
She yanked her tail quickly, hoping to zoom Ameline through the water. "I'm fine. I thought you left." Her voice was low when she spoke again, "They always leave..."

Ameline giggled with delight as she was shot across the water. When she stopped though she could tell there was something wrong with Nessie. Something she had done had upset her.
"Leave? I would never leave unless I had to, and even then I would always say goodbye and return when my companion would let me." Ameline said and nodded. Then Nessie's statement shocked her, "Why would they leave?"

"They always leave," Nessie slapped at the water dejectedly. She'd never really had anyone say goodbye before, and no one ever returned. Ever. Not even her parents....and she would have thought that they would But they had left her like the others....
Nessie shrugged her shoulders, "They think I'm a...monster."
