The Stone
Stone: Anthracite is a hard, compact variety of mineral coal that has a high luster. It has the highest carbon count and contains the fewest impurities of all coals, despite its lower calorific content. Color: Black with a luster, which is often semi-metallic with a mildly brown reflection Hardness: 3.5 Metaphysical Properties: Following the principle of like-aiding-like, it can be used as a remedy for toxic conditions caused by petroleum products and radiation contacts. Body tissues are actually stimulated to cause regeneration allowing for an uplifted feeling as healing occurs. Acts on the 1st chakra. A piece of coal was once carried by thieves to avoid detection.

Name: Theirn Cale Age: 22 (Appears older, doesn't age normally) Eye color: Grey blue Hair color and style: Black lanky hair that falls to the middle of his back, sometimes he pulls it back into a loose ponytail. Identifying Marks: Theirn despite his tenancy to find dangerous situations and the weathered look his skin has taken on, is remarkably unmarked when it comes to scars, a strange brand in the shape of a howling wolf has been branded on his back over his left hip. Personality: Most of the time Theirn is quiet and somewhat reclusive he can often be harsh and pushes others away. Inside there is a more caring person but he doesn't often let those parts of him free, preferring to barb others before they get too close. Greatest Flaw: Because of his tendency to push others away Theirn often doesn't have help when it comes to controlling or finding a cure for his lycanthropy.
Lycanthorpy and Loneliness... Theirn was cursed during his teenage years while attempting to stop a malicious mage that was hunting his clan members. The mage instead of outright killing Theirn attempted to make him into a weapon instead and branded him with the cursed mark on his back. When he returned to his people Theirn was sickened and weak, that night he shifted for the first time and finalized the hold that the curse had on him. He lashed out at his sister leaving scar marks on her side from his claws but was soon contained after wards. The elders of his clan were unable to come up with any cure for his aliment and Theirn after learning that he had harmed his sister Yaxha grew depressed as the next time of change drew near he grew more worried and agitated over the idea that he could do harm to those he loved most; Theirn then struck out on his own in hopes of learning how to control his change or cure it.
Random Lycanthropy facts when pertaining to Theirn: ☼He is in fact cursed and at this time cannot control the change ☼Because of his curse and that the lycanthropy works like a disease Theirn always feels warm as if he has a fever ☼Lycanthropes age more slowly once infected, Theirn has a more aged appearance because he has had a pretty rough time of it and it has worn on him. Instead of continuing to age in appearance he'll probably just look as he does now for a very long time. ☼He changes for each night of the full moon and the day before and after, so if there is a month where the moon stays full for two nights in a row he'll have to deal with the change for four days. “Heavier-than-air flying machines are impossible.” ---- Lord Kelvin, British mathematician and physicist, president of the British Royal Society, 1895

...Getting there...“Dear Mr. President: The canal system of this country is being threatened by a new form of transportation known as ‘railroads’ … As you may well know, Mr. President, ‘railroad’ carriages are pulled at the enormous speed of 15 miles per hour by ‘engines’ which, in addition to endangering life and limb of passengers, roar and snort their way through the countryside, setting fire to crops, scaring the livestock and frightening women and children. The Almighty certainly never intended that people should travel at such breakneck speed.” ---- Martin Van Buren, Governor of New York, 1830(?).
