"Prepare to board! Make sure your sidearms are loaded! Take everything they have!" Maximilian commanded his men after a long airship battle. They had disabled the enemy's airship and closed to boarding distance. He took out his sword and prepared to charge in with his soldiers. He turned to his second in command, Evee and said, "If we can get everything from their ship over here, we'll be rich! Let's go!" He laughed and charged forward with his soldiers. They didn't normally use frontal attacks to steal from their targets, but there was always a need for a refreshing change from all the secret plans and sneaking in and out with big valuable jewels. Big battles always seemed to be refreshing to the band of mercenaries.

This wasn't an out of the ordinary occurrence for Max and his band of mercenaries, they stole from airships and military installations all the time. This particular vessel however, was reported to have a very valuable object on board, Max could hardly have passed the opportunity up. The vessel was a civilian one, but had a crew of highly trained ex-soldiers and an expert ship-master. Max and his crew had only succeeded in the battle due to a risky maneuver Max had devised on the spot. Instead of going on the offensive in standard ship to ship tactics, they decided to use the enemy's skill against them.

They turned their ship straight towards the enemy's, moving full speed at the enemy. As they started their run, they dropped the anchor to its full length, and at the last second, pulled up. Their anchor caught hold of the enemy's engine, and ripped it out of its hold on the ship, leaving it hanging securely. If the enemy tried anything, their engine would die, and they would fall out of the sky. The enemy lowered their flag, a sign of surrender, but when Max and his crew began boarding, the enemy crew fought back, and thus the battle begun.

Evengelina paced the main deck of the Black Cutlass in anticipation of the coming battle. Her delicate left hand relaxed on the hilt of the rapier hanging from her shapely hips. Her blue eyes then trailed softly to the captain of the ship, a broad shouldered man slightly taller than she. Her eyes shifted to the vast skyline the sails of the ship that was to be the Black Cutlass’s next target.

The Black Cutlass was the terror of the skies of Levanteir. Many times had the large ship outrun and outmaneuver almost all of the ships both pirate and pirate seeking alike. It was crewed by the finest handpicked and recruited men, fine swordsman, gunners, and sailors in their own right but they proved themselves the most in their ability to topple the most enormous odds.

The wind softly blew Evengelina’s auburn hair and soft red cloak, revealing her pale corset over a white baggy long-sleeve white shirt and black Capri pants. She folded her arms on the railing of the ship and watched as their target came closer. Yet another advantage of the Cutlass, Evengelina thought. The Black Cutlass is known for it’s advantage of speed over more powerful, slower, weapons. Though the Black Cutlass is a deadly ship; no other ships could overcome such especially after the many upgrades it has gone through from stolen material.

Evengelina called to all aboard as they reached the victimizing ship, "Comeon you heard the Captain! Let's get to work!" Almost on instinct, three crews of ballista operators began to fire their weapons, each massive bolt flying to hit the bigger ship in three different directions thanks to the detachable rafts loaded in various secret strategical compartments on the side of the Cutlass no bigger than a plank of wood.

Evengelina’s began to quiver in anticipation; this will be another easy victory it seems. The cries of her enemy rang out through the fog, their diversionary tactics were working, and soon it would be the boarding party's turn to have some fun. She looked around in the fog. The party consisted of over forty members all charging and swinging aboard the enemy ship. Their battle cries filled the air likely to send chills down their enemies spines.

With a wave of Evengelina’s hand, another bolt crashed into the foe’s vessel. Another wave of gunfire sounded in the air, and Evengelina quickly jumped out of the way in order to avoid being shot at. She leapt onto one of the ropes and swung onto the foe’s open decks. As soon as she landed, a man charged and swung at her and missed, giving Evengelina the opportunity to draw her rapier from it’s sheath and slashing a deep gash in an enemy's leg as she reached the main deck of the foe’s vessel.

The screaming man merely fell to the ground. Evengelina continued her run and disposed of three more ship hands in similar fashion. Each cut split little blood and each was not lethal. It didn't need to be, Evengelina thought, she just needed to stall the fleet long enough for their men to plunder what they needed and get back aboard the Cutlass. Resisting and risking injury was their own bad judgment.

Rather than make his way quickly battling around the deck like Evee did, Max engaged in the battle for the lower decks, heading for the room where their prize was being kept. He quickly dispatched anyone who stood in his way, mocking their feeble combat stances as he easily found flaws and exploited them. Max turned a corner too quickly and almost got shot as a group of soldier with their backs to the wall aimed their rifles down the hallway. Max cursed at himself for being too eager, he thought for a moment or two then smiled to himself. He turned and looked at the metal panel on the wall next to him, he motioned for one of his soldiers to come closer. He whispered something to him and the two of them got to work.

Not 5 minutes later, Max was sprinting down the hallway holding a large metal plate in front of him to block the bullets. He ran right through the enemies' bullets and slammed the three soldiers into the wall, causing them to be knocked unconscious. He set the metal plate down next to them and picked up their weapons. He inspected them and tossed them to one of his soldiers who carried them back up to the deck. Max turned and looked, he was at a T-intersection and had no idea which way led to his prize. He looked down one corridor then down the other, then the lights went out. "Which way to go? Why can nothing ever be simple... OH COME ON!" As soon as he exclaimed, the emergency lighting came on, bathing the dark hallways in a blood red color.

Max sighed and divided his soldiers into two teams and each went down one of the hallways. Max led his team down the darkened corridors, fighting and eliminating anyone who tried to stop him. He picked up a dead soldier's sword and was now dual wielding the swords, cutting down any soldier in front of him with but a swing from the swords. He smiled as the soldiers towards the end of the hallway started simply running away from him. He looked down the hall and saw the door at the end, a large locked vault like door. He only noticed the swinging sword as it was coming for his head. Max blocked with both of the swords and quickly pushed the sword away. He kicked the assailant in the stomach and pushed him back, swinging his swords at him while saying, "Don't you know anything of combat? Your stance needs work." As he swung his swords, they impacted on the man's chest, carving huge gashes into him. He dropped to his knees and Max stabbed his second sword through the assailant's neck and left it there, continuing on.

When he reached the steel door, Max saw that it was locked and could only be opened with the right combination. He grabbed a nearby enemy crew member and hoisted him up by his collar. He told him, in the scariest voice he could manage, "Open it. Or I'm going to cut your head off." The crew member quickly did as he was asked and opened the vault door. Max smiled as he saw the object he was looking for on a pedestal in the center of the room. He walked inside and looked it over, appraising it. He knew how valuable it was, and he knew what it was for. He stuffed it gracelessly in his pocket and said to the soldiers under his command, "Take everything out of here back onto the ship! two men per team, one defends one carries." With that, the airship was theirs, none of the remaining soldiers below decks would dare fight back now, and the crew could care less. The fighting seemed to have quieted down above deck, so Max decided it was time to pay the captain of the ship a visit.

Evee ran towards a foe, parrying a blow and kicking him in the chest, knocking him into the mast. She raised her arm to deliver the final blow but suddenly something off-board caught her eye. Three patrol ships came into view surrounding the two disputing ships; The patrol ships appeared small compared to the Black Cutlass; but they are deadly. Evee’s eyes widened and she quickly jumped up to warn the crew members. “Everyone fall back! Dispatch and quickly prepare the ship for a take off! Defend the Cutlass!” She ordered.

Evee spun around with her heart beating fast, scanning the deck for Max. Where is he? He must still be inside the quarters! She pulled out her pistols and shot at the men that stood in her way. With the other hand, she slashed at her opponents with her javelin and slammed her body against others to throw them off board. She quickly ran across the ship to the staircase that lead to the lower deck, fighting her way through a crowd of men.

“Maaaaaaaax!”
She yelled as she made her way down the corridor. She felt slightly frantic. The crew above is going to have a hard time dealing with three patrol ships. We need to move if we want to avoid getting severe damage to the Cutlass.

As Max headed back up to the deck, he heard Evee yelling for him nearby. He quickly hurried back up from the decks, nearly running into her on the way out. He ran right past while saying, "C'mon Evee! Let's move! I gotta see the captain about a watch!" By the time he finished his sentence he was already running up the stairs to get above deck.

When he made it into the bright light of the main deck, he had to blink to get his eyes adjusted to the light. He turned right and ran to the door that led into the captain's quarters. He kicked the door open and headed in. He saw the captain hiding behind his desk. He walked quickly over and sat on top of the desk, saying, "Sooo. Cap'n... Where did you possibly get a treasure such as this?" Max held the watch out in front of him, letting it glisten and shine in the light.

The captain of the ship muttered and stuttered a response. At which point Max reached down, grabbed the captain by his collar and brought him to his face and repeated what he said. The Captain managed an audible and coherent response this time,
"I got it from a trader! He was traveling from The City and he said it was very expensive! I thought I'd sell it in another country and get a really good price!" Max laughed loudly at the captain's stupidity. He had no idea what kind of treasure he had obtained, if he had, it wouldn't have been this easy to obtain it.

He hopped of the desk still laughing, with a smile on his face, he walked back out onto the deck. He shouted to his soldiers, "Let's go people! WE ARE LEAVING!" He jumped back over to his to The Black Cutlass and headed for his quarters, he had to lock this treasure up tight. "Mr. Smith you have the helm. Where's my second? Where's my Evee? EVEEEEE!? My quarters! Quickish!" He walked inside and sat at his desk, putting his feet up and waiting for Evee.

Evee blinked in confusion, not quite sure what was so important about a watch. She quickly nodded and decided to just trust that Max knew what he was doing. Evee watching him break into the double doors to the captain's quarters and then proceeded to turn back to the outer parts of the ship. Evee noted the screams of terrified men as they called helplessly out for help from the patrol ships. This meant they had given up the will to fight any longer, which was a good thing. As the crew members of the Black Cutlass spotted Evee, they lowered the ship so that remaining crew members could easily reboard. However in their urgency, they moved a little too close.

A shattering crunch of wood was heard as the Black Cutlass rammed into the side of the foe’s ship, causing the port bow of the enemy's ship to splinter. The Black Cutlass remained unscathed except for slight chipping of paint. The quake was so large, that it nearly sent Evee to the ground, but she managed to retain her balance. Every wall of the ship groaned miserably and audible thuds off the port bow rattled in the hull of the aftermath of the giant quake.

Evee looked back, scanning the deck; she had to make sure that Max made it out safely before she herself would escape. The foe’s ship looked clear; the only two that have yet to board were Evee and Max. The Black Cutlass members were anxiously waving their arms to motion Evee to jump. Not yet… she thought. Finally she saw him and her heart made a leap of excitement and so did she. The men cheered as they both made it safely onboard; the Black Cutlass was finally free to depart.

Once onboard the Black Cutlass once more, she watched as Max quickly retreated to his captain quarters instantly. Typical Max. Evee eyeballed the rest of the crew as the loose cannon sounds that sounded out all around them. "Well, we’re not clear yet! Don’t just stand there! Weigh anchor! Mend the bulkhead! Set sail and defend the Cutlass!" Right on her cue, the lot of them scattered like roaches.

The entire ship rocked from side to side as it avoided the blasts of the patrol ships. Soon the Black Cutlass sped through the air, tearing through the thick clouds and out of sight.

The crew let out a collective cheer, each individual satisfied with their combined efforts to get themselves back on course. Even the Cabin Boy, who had mysteriously worked his way back onto the ship, joined in the celebration; in his arms several bottles of alcohol. Grog and Ale were passed around to every individual and the musically talented began to play; Cayden took center stage, kicking off the start of a rowdy celebration that would most likely last the next few hours.

Evee overheard Max’s foolhardy call and turned to see him poke his head out for a brief moment before he disappeared again behind closed doors. Evee smiled at his light-hearted banter and started to advance to his quarters. However to displease and rub against Max's dignity, Evee proudly took her own sweet time in doing so.

Evee creaked the doors open, her smile quickly dropping as she noted his dirty boots on the table. “Max!” She cried in annoyance, sweeping across the room with long graceful, yet irritable, strides. Unsheathing her javelin, she indignantly poked the soles of his boot forcing his feet off of the table whilst ignoring the fact that it actually had punctured through a good chunk of it just to prove her point.

Max tapped his foot on the desk waiting for Evee, she always seemed to take her time when he needed to talk to her. As she walked in, he smiled until he noticed the scowl on her face. He looked down at his boots and was just about to remove them from the desk when she stormed over to him and pushed his feet off with her rapier. She punched a hole in his boot as well; Max looked at the underside of it and said, in a particularly whiny voice, "Awwww... Eveeeeee... You wrecked my favorite pair of boooots... agaaaaain."

Max removed the boot with the hole in it, opened a nearby window and tossed it out, walking over to his nearby closet, with only one boot thunking on the floor. He opened the closet door and grabbed one of the 20 boots he had on the floor inside. Max was well equipped for this particular scenario, as it happened quite often. With his new boot on, he walked over to Evee and put his arms on her shoulders and said, "Evee, do you know why we robbed that civilian merchant's vessel? No, of course you don't! Because I didn't tell you. We robbed that ship, because of this!" With a big toothy grin on his face, Max pulled out the golden pocket watch he had taken and showed it to Evee. He looked back and forth between her and the watch, the large grin still on his face. He sighed after a few moments and said, "This watch... is more than just a watch. It's a map. To treasures unimaginable, fame unobtainable, glory unreachable, wealth un... un...countable? Whatever, my terrible descriptions aside, this is THE map. The map to... the ultimate treasure!"

Max let go of Evee's shoulders and walked back over to his desk. He opened one of the drawers in it, dropped the watch in unceremoniously, shut the drawer and locked it. He turned back to Evee and said, with a serious expression on his face, "You are not to tell anyone of this Evee. Only me, you, and Cayden will know of this. I trust my crew with our lives, I just don't trust the devils inside them. Everyone has a price, and the ultimate treasure is said to be... well, enough for anyone really. Watch yourself Evee, I picked my crew carefully, but loyalty alone can't be relied on forever." Max perked up after he finished and walked out of his quarters.

Not 10 seconds later he walked back in and headed over to his desk, opened the locked drawer and put the watch in his pocket. He reached further into the drawer and pulled out a small metal drumstick. He shut the drawer and reached under his desk and pulled out a triangle. He smiled and said, "It's time for the band's opening act. I'm playing the triangle." With a manic grin on his face, Max rushed out onto the deck, shouting, "You guys didn't think you were going to start the party with out me did you!? Let's get started shall we!?" With a few groans and many cheers from the crew, Max stormed the stage and started partying along with Cayden.

Evee’s eyes widened as Max produced the gold watch from his pocket, “Is that what I think it is?” She gasped, “How on earth did you know it was aboard that ship?” She asked, hardly able to contain her amazement. “Are you sure it’s the real thing?” her voice was skeptic but it looked real enough. She reached over and brushed her fingers on the fine gold. It was most definitely real; The complexity of the engravings on it was nearly impossible to duplicate. The only other place Evee had ever seen it were painted and hand drawn versions of it in her books.

Evee crossed her arms and stared down at him, “You think I would go around blabbing that we have the one and only legendary Tempus Ex Machina? People would kill to have that! I can’t believe it actually exists, let alone that it is now in our procession!” Never in a million years Evee would have thought that she would actually set her eyes on it. A million questions crossed her mind. “Does Cayden know yet?” She inquired, “When do you plan on telling him? What do you plan on doing with it? You know meddling with that thing could be dangerous…” she warned. Something was telling her that it might be a bad idea to actually keep such an object as such. She hoped that Max didn’t plan on actually trying to use it. It gave her some comfort that Max decided to lock it up. However, that didn’t last long as she watched him return seconds later only to unlock the safe.

“Max! What are you-“ She started to speak, watching him with a profound confused expression that was slapped onto her face. She moved forward to try and snatch it from his pocket with the intention to put it back in the safe, but he was already out the door drawing attention to himself. Evee rubbed her eyes in distraught as she followed him out; feeling slightly cross. She hated the fact that Max carried an irrational sense of mind; acting out and saying things without thinking properly first. She knew that his actions would eventually lead to some dire consequences sooner or later. Max was treating the Tempus Ex Machina like a five year old boy with a new shiny toy.

Evee followed him out and took a seat, watching him make a fool of himself. Try as she might, Evee could not resist the slight tug pulling upon her lips as she watched Max gloat his so-called skills with his ridiculous triangle and Cayden dancing like a goofball. They seem so happy; Perhaps I should lighten up and stop being such a worry wart. She thought to herself. After all, if I didn’t trust Max's judgments in the past, I would still be stuck being a Mayor’s daughter spending the rest of my days feeling miserable and trapped. Evee shuddered at the thought, remembering the floral wallpaper she hated oh-so-much and that egotistical pretty boy her father always made her interact with. What was his name again? The name slipped her mind. Whatever. It doesn't matter anymore. She smiled. Evee was no longer trapped; she was here with Max and Cayden, freely living an adventure she had always dreamed of.

With a deep breath, Evee pushed her doubts and fears behind her and joined in on the fun; tackling both Max and Cayden from behind with a whole-hearted laugh.

Cayden stood on stage as the party started. He was cheering along with the rest of the crew. Their last heist had been a major success, with no deaths on their side, and only a minor scrape to the paint job of The Black Cutlass. After such an unusually successful heist, there had to be a celebration. As the group cheered, Cayden looked around, he saw Evee go into Max's quarters after taking her own sweet time doing so. After a bit, Max came out holding his triangle, at which point Cayden yelled, "And here he is! Our amazing captain!" As Max shrugged off the cheers and headed for the stage, Cayden noticed a gold object in Max's pocket. He wondered what it could be, but quickly returned his thoughts to the festivities. Surely if Max wanted him to know, he'd tell him.

As Max and Cayden began playing hearty music for their band of rogues, Evee snuck up behind them and tackled them to the floor. With a laugh from all three of them, Cayden quickly jumped up and cheered to the crew, who returned his cheer. The party went on for several hours, dying down only after everyone had nearly killed themselves with grog and ale. As the party broke up, Cayden walked over to Max and Evee, who were now standing just outside the captain's quarters. Cayden walked next to Evee and kissed her on the cheek and said, So, how's my girl doing?" He watched intently for a response from Max, hoping to push a sore spot for the fun of it. Evee chuckled, and Max just stared at Cayden, he then just brushed it off by laughing. Cayden drooped his head in an exaggerated fashion, he had expected more of a reaction from Max. He knew that Max and Evee liked each other, but never actually acted on that fact, he was merely trying to hurry things along between the two.

As the three of them headed inside Max's quarters, Cayden shut the door and asked, "What's that gold thing in your pocket Max? Is that what we raided that ship for?" Max sighed and answered,
"Yes, Cayden. This... is the Tempus Ex Machina." Cayden stared at Max wide-eyed and unblinking. Had they really found the real thing, Cayden thought. Were they really on their way to finding the ultimate treasure? Would they be wealthy beyond their wildest dreams? Cayden laughed and jumped up and down clearly happy. Max pulled the watch out of his pocket and dangled it in front of Cayden. Cayden stared back with the interest of a kid outside a toy shop on Christmas.
PostPosted: Thu Nov 11, 2010 3:04 am

Evee stiffened in surprise as Cayden pulled her close to him and planted one right on her cheek. Her eyes were wide in shock; she did not foresee his actions. Her instincts told her to throw Cayden off, but she quickly then realized that he had done it as a simple joke when she saw his gaze linger at Max's reactions; Typical Cayden. She laughed nervously and pushed him away, hoping that her face wasn't red. She snuck a glance at Max, and like Cayden, she was disappointed that his face was completely unmoving and expressionless.Trying to keep her composure, she clapped her hands. "Alright crew, I expect this deck to be spotless by morning. So if you plan on getting some sleep at all; I suggest you start now." The crew groaned and moved along without another word.

As Max and Cayden retreated to the Captain's Quarters, Evee quickly followed in persuit; Max seemed to be up to something and by his expression she could tell that he wanted some private time with the two of them.

Evee stayed by the door this time, as she watched the drama unfold once more; except this time with Cayden. Evee tensed slightly; both Cayden and Max seemingly weren't taking this situation seriously. It worried her what kind of trouble they could be getting themselves into if someone were to find out about this. Sighing Evee interrupted them, "Max. The way you were carrying it around earlier, you shouldn't. Its best to keep it under lock and key..." She sighed.

Max and Cayden stopped their childish giggling and their excitement was slightly squashed when Evee interrupted them. Max smiled and said, "Relax Evee, who better to keep the thing safe than me? After all, I'm the best combat expert on the ship. Besides, who in the crew would really think of stealing or betraying me? Anyways, we should crack this thing open and figure out our next destination." Max set the watch on the table in the center of the room. He sat down and beckoned the other two to do the same.

Inspecting thee watch carefully, Max gently picked it up and pressed a button on the underside, carefully hidden among the intricate carvings and trim. The watch opened slowly, revealing a series of intricate levers, gears and switches. As he looked closer, Max noticed a small engraving on the underside of the lid, it read, "Flip numbers 1, 3, and 5, turn on numbers 6, 9, and 7." Max studied the engraving for a few moments then looked at the intricate switches. Putting two and two together, Max decided to try flipping the switches.

As soon as Max had flipped the last switch, the watch began to glow. There was a small light on the inside, and when a small piece of engraved glass was moved over it, the light shone on the ceiling. Max quickly saw this and moved to turn off all the lights, with the exception of the one over the map. Upon inspection, and comparison, Max turned on all the lights, and watched as the watch shut itself down. He sat back in is chair and sighed.

Looking over at Evee with a regretful expression on his face, he said, "Well... we know where to go next... Cayden, Evee... We're going home... we're going back to Griffendale..." Max looked at his two companions seriously; the three of them hadn't returned since the war had separated them initially. What's more, the mayor, Evee's father, was still in control of the town, and had apparently put a notorious pirate catcher in the guard captain position. Max had never expected to go back there, but there was no choice; if they wanted the treasure, they needed to go home.
PostPosted: Thu Nov 18, 2010 2:51 am

Evee stared in bewilderment as Max fiddled with the tiny little knobs and switches, listening carefully to the sounds clicking and whirling. It amazed her how such a small little device was so intricate and perplexing at such a unbelievable scale. She had to step closer and lean in close in order to take a better look at the scene unfolding in front of her.

After Max decoded the numbers and announced they were returning the one place Evee never wanted to see ever again, Evee bursted into a panic. “Max! You know we can’t go there! That’s practically suicide! What do you think will happen if my father finds out I’m still alive??!” She shouted at him angrily, before storming out of the cabin room, not wanting to hear another answer. She knew that the captain’s word was final; but she didn’t understand why he would ever want to risk losing everything they earned just for the sake of a stupid gold watch. It pained her knowing that there was a chance all their hard earned freedom was at a stake. Worse, what would happen if she confronted someone that might recognize her? The whole entire navy would be out looking for her! “I can’t go back I just can’t! I REFUSE to go back” She shouted, knowing that Max and Cayden could easily hear her from inside the captain’s quarters, ignoring the fact that the whole entire crew was staring at her with confused expressions.

-------
-Four days later-
-------

“Land Ho!” A voice cried out excitedly as all of the crew members rushed towards the empty railings of the ship. The Black Cutlass flag was lowered and quickly replaced with a merchant flag; one in which they have nabbed from one of their previous victims. Men ran about the ship, quickly hiding their arms and changing into more decent looking peasant-like clothes rather than their usual flaunty pirate wear. The ship was bustling excitedly, everyone seemed cheerful and happy they had finally arrived at their destination. Evee, however, looked otherwise. The past few days, she had shut herself away in her cabin, feeling sick from the dreadful anticipation of what was to come.

Squinting her eyes in the burning sun, she stared out at the city she once knew in the back of her mind. Since the last time she had been here, it was bustling with life. It seemed bigger and much more busier than she had ever remembered. It was loud and boisterous; the way the merchants and traders fought with their voices for attention, children ran about screaming with excitement, and the loud chatter of civilians that seemed to stretch for miles.

As the ship landed, ropes thrown overboard and ladders were lowered. Upon stepping onto the pier, the crew members were stopped by the authoritarians asking for paperwork. Booths littered the pier; it seemed as though the Mayor had stepped up his precautionary the past few years for reasons remaining unknown.

Griffendale, home to the stuffy elite who keep the poor sanctioned off in their own district. I suppose I'm one of the stuffy elite though I suppose "that I actually let out my stuffiness in big BANGS! Hahaha" he laughed to himself. It was largely okay when he did that becuase he had a room all to himself on the ship far away from other people. Ron liked to experiment with chemicals and alchemy which was hazardous to anyone near his lab. Especially since Ron's experiments always seemed to hurt other people and not himself. Even the scar that crossed his face from the bottom of one eye to the bottom of the other wasn't even from one of his explosions.

Always dreaming bigger Ron had perhaps become an expert on explosive combinations though he was hardly a real man of science. He did record his findings and experiments but there was no method to his ways other than throwing random junk into a pot seeing if it explodes or ignites and if not seeing what happens when he lit it on fire.

Since they would be going ashore Ron decided that he would pay his family a visit. The last time he had been home was before he left for the war since he had been declared dead and roaming the world as a pirate since he left the army. He opened a trunk and pulled out the clothes that he worn to the recruiting station. They still fit him perfectly and he still hated the tie. Unlike his older brother Ron was not the large chiseled sculptors dream, he was the dashing rogue that fathers feared and shielded their daughters from. He had rough loose blond hair with smooth features, and even after he had gone through boot camp he never really put on any muscle which was why his old clothes still fit.eh, let's loose the tie, and the jacket, we'll pull the shirt out from the pants, and unbutton the collar. There! Now I'm the party noble. With his clothes now to his liking Ron left his room and went above deck. Ron appeared to be far less excited about land compared to the other crew members but he was definitely excited about going babe watching later. When the the authorities stopped Ron for paper work he presented a document bearing the crest the of the Whiteraven family. "We beg your pardon sir!, go on through." With a flick of his wrist Ron folded the document and put it in his pocket. "Thanks gentlemen, now you keep on doing what you do."

Max sighed as Evee shouted and ran out of his cabin, shutting herself away for 4 days. When they finally arrived and Max had changed into a less extravagant, but still flashy captain's outfit, he walked out onto the deck. With the watch in his pocket, hidden carefully, he saw Evee looking out at the city, with an odd expression on her face. He walked over, stood next to her, and wrapped an arm around her, saying, "C'mon Evee. I know you're worried, but it'll all be okay. I got us some paperwork, so we aren't walking around with our own names. We're Mr. and Mrs. Windstay. Now, lets go, I can see the place has changed, I want to see how much."

His arm still wrapped around Evee, he led her towards the land, where Cayden, Magnus, and Ron were waiting. After having their papers checked by one of the guards, he walked over to the group with Evee still under his arm. Looking them over, he said, "Okay, here's the deal. We need to scout this place out. As I'm sure you can tell, the mayor has this place on perpetual lockdown, for unknown reasons. So, it must mean he has something important in his possession. Now, we need to scout out his mansion and the surrounding area. Ron, Magnus, you scout the areas surrounding the mansion, while Evee and I scout the mansion itself. Cayden, you check the town for any information regarding why the mayor's stepped up his security. Remember, people around here know what we look like, so don't be too conspicuous." With that, Max saluted with his free hand and let the group head off to their tasks. With his arm still around Evee, he headed towards the mayor's mansion.

"You idiotic witch!"

Trinity stumbled a little to the side with a tiny gasp as the Captain's hand connected with the side of her face. Wincing in pain, he put her own hand up to the injured side of her face which was now stinging from the hit. She kept her eyes on the floor the entire time as he continued to yell at her.

"I can't believe you forgot everything I told you to get from the market! If you forgot everything then where the hell are you spending all my money, girl!?"

Trinity stood absolutely still even though she could feel the fact that her body wanted to start shaking out of fear. It wasn't her fault that she didn't bring back everything on the list the Captain had dictated to her. He hadn't given her enough money to buy everything! The prices were a lot higher than she had been told about! It wasn't her fault! But she couldn't explain it all to him because Trinity was mute. She couldn't speak. And even if she could, she would just get beaten even more for telling him 'lies'.

"Dammit! Idiot girl!" He didn't even know her name because he hadn't even asked for it when he had bought her three years ago. So all he and the rest of the crew called her was 'girl' or some other pretty nasty names. It wasn't like she could object to the name calling anyway even if she could. "Go back out there and get the rest of the stuff I told you to get!" The captain picked up another small pouch filled with coins and basically threw it at Trinity. The pouch hit the poor girl on the forehead and fell to the floor."Pick it up! Go!"

With that, Trinity hastily fumbled to pick up the pouch of money and ran out the door of the Captain's quarters. She ran past other crew members who laughed at her as they seemed to have heard her getting yelled at, yet again. Trinity kept running all the way down the gangway of the ship and onto the docks.
