Everything was clouded. Her vision a swirl of grays and blacks, memory cracked and crumbling. She'd been.. prisoner. The captive plaything to a derange elemental. Though in the end it was hard to say why she stayed so long. Fear of his wrath, inability to escape, or was it deeper then that? She couldn't remember. Nor could she recall why she left, the breaking point that had driven her to flee, how she'd even managed to escape his gnarled labyrinth of ancient woodland. Free, she was finally free of him after so many months.. or was it longer? Again, she couldn't remember. The harder she tried to recall the events surrounding him, the foggier they all became, as if the memories were fading away. Walled away deep in her mind where they couldn't touch her.

Her mind was trying to protect her from the harsh reality she'd faced, but even cleansing the memories couldn't remove the taint they'd had on her personality. Though the extent of that change was still unapparent. The unicorn was exhaust, and the unclear swirl of her thoughts did little to steady her as she wandered onward through endless trees. Steps staggered and clumsy, slowed to a snails pace. She didn't know where she was, only that she was far from Mephistopheles and his dark kingdom, and that was what mattered. She hadn't the energy to worry over how lost she truly was or how she was going to find her way free. Even the niggling since of something maybe forgotten couldn't move her. She was simply too tired. Wandering for days without sleep, without food. Sipped dew from mammoth foliage her only water.

The tip of a copper hoof caught on the gnarled twist of a thick root that was coming free of it's earthy prison, and exhausted as she was she couldn't catch herself. Pitching forward, the pale mare could only guard her thin legs as she fell, shoulder crashing into the leaf covered soil at the base of giant tree, temple smacking painfully against the rough bark of the thick trunk in a burst of white starbursts before everything faded to black. Sleep finally sucking her under, even if forced.

Wings, shimmering like that of silver leaves, beaten until it was thin and smooth, fanned out gracefully with a softness that should not be possible from something so metallic. His body was weary, the long hours.... weeks... He had watched over the sleeping form of his dear friend, Luciole, who had been trapped within her own mind, her body as if asleep, only living because he and finch, her other guardian, coaxed her body to swallow mouth fulls of nutrient rich water from the spring only feet away from her body. Even then... she had become sickeningly thin. It was weary on his heart, but he understood it....

Still. The night was quiet, and Finch could guard the tiny mare's body.. and for a while to could glide through the trees, and for a little while, just a little while, forget about the nightmare that they were trying to fight through. With a movement that would remind someone of a giant moth, he took to the air. He glowed faintly in the night, a trait he had inherited from his mother, strands of glowing beads and constellations traced across his body giveing off a celestial glitter, illuminating the path of his flight. It calmed his mind, as if the damp autumn air of the forest tugging at his cape and hair, simply blew the stress away, leaving him clean, and strangely hollowed out, as if he only had so many emotions he could use, and he had burned them all out.

In the night, the large plant life and ancient gnarled trees, blended together, in a lovely pallet of blacks and greens... Not long ago he would have fluttered through here like a hyper dragonfly, but this night he glided, slow and calm, riding the forest currents and letting his mind fade to a blank..... untill something caught his eye. Even in the darkness the pale pink and cream stood out in stark contrast. But it was the glittering shimmer of gold, sparked to life by the glow of his own body that changed his path. Gliding in a large loop around an ancient tree that was twice as thick as he was long, he came to rest on a giant gnarled root, thick and strong enough to support the weight of the stallion.

What he saw, was utterly confusing. His brain comprehended what he saw... but it just didn't make sense. A delicate mare, sprawled in the leaf carpeted forest floor, as if she had been tossed there like a rag doll from a child's careless hand. And yet he blinked and stared for a moment longer, not quite sure if the time along in the forest with no one to talk to but one other snarky stallion had simply driven him insane. Luciole had chosen these woods for the hiding place of her body, for the fact that soquili did not tally here. Let alone a dainty and exotic little unicorn mare.

He Blinked. Blinked again. Nope, she was still there. With a furrow of his brows, and one flap of his wings, he glided down to the mare, landing all but silently beside her. Her face lit up in the pool of his own faint starlight he could see she was thin, as if she had been healthy, but then denied food for so long her body had turned on itself. He lowered his head, his hair falling like a curtain to one side, as he used the tip of his horn, to slide back a thick pink lock away from the mares face, revealing a large blooming bruise to the side of her head. Aaah... that would explain the half-hazard napping position.... He raised his head, the tip of his horn brushing against hers, a clink of silver against gold, like the chime of a bell.

He had a moment, to wonder how long she had been there... before the thought occurred to him. from the scratches on her limbs and the manner of her position, and the scuff and skids marks in her wake, it looked as if she had been fleeing for her life... but from what? It put him on edge, his glow, seeming to flare brighter as his tail swished, his eyes momentarily leaving the sleeping form of the mare to scan the woods, straining to listen for the sound of a potential pursuer.

Her dreams were not her friends. Endless lines of gnarled trunks and low hanging branches that pricked her cheeks and snagged her hair as she passed beneath them. Unease like a thick knot in her stomach urging her forward, quickening her pace. And the faster she moved, the more crowding the trees became until she couldn't so much as take a step without the harsh brush of wooden fingers along her body. It was enough to chase a shudder up the line of her spine to the base of her skull, pale fur rising in a bristled line along her back.

Then there was something else in the dark. The faintest scent of vanilla, there and gone as if carried on a wind that wasn't there. It made her pause in her nervous wandering, head raising as she drew a deep breath, hoping to recapture the gentle aroma with little hope of it actually working. It was there though, faint and unsure, but undeniably there, and so out of place it made the dream falter, ripples wavering throughout the thick trunks of the surrounding trees in growing rings until the image of the wood finally shattered with a sound like the chime of a bell.

She woke, gently, despite the harsh dream or harsher reality. Metallic eyes peeking past dark lashes at a set of powder blue ankles string with glowing beads and glittering with.. stars? She frowned, lids falling shut as she rolled her head back to rub her cheek along the leaf covered earth. Sure she was seeing things until a second peek confirmed the first. There was indeed a set of powder blue ankles beside her. For a brief moment the frown deepened, concern etching her features before slipping away as she followed the legs up to the soquili that stood above her.

The Stallion was all silvers, blues, and creams. Beautiful and ethereal with his champagne mane and the glitter of strung pearls like captive fairy lights encircling his body. And the stars.. She couldn't help but gaze in awe at the stars, constellations glowing like diamonds from his very skin.

"Am I still dreaming?" Her voice was heavy, but soft. A sound like the coo of a dove. Punctuated by the sharp hiss of a sudden wince as she rolled to her side. Temple throbbing painfully. "Or perhaps I've knocked myself senseless."

The memories that had been fogged before were barely a shadow now. She recalled running, fear. Shadows and twisted branches like reaching claws.. But there was no face to lay with dread the images brought to her, Only a confusing sense of great unease, elevated by the tense stance of the stallion. He was on alert, searching the dark for.. what? And for that matter.. "Where are we?"

Ithildin's ear twitched at the soft delicate voice from below him, causing the silver leaves, crafted from the metal his wings mimicked, to click together in a melodic chime. He turned pale eyes back to her for a moment, and in an almost automatic gesture shifted so that his body, cloak, and wings sheltered her from the forest about, protected by the giant trunk of the tree behind, and the tangles of roots on either side. " You are in the midst of a great forest, little flower. Do you not remember how you got here? " His brow furrowed, his ears keeping perked up high, filtering through all the sounds of the night forest.

" Though May hap you did knock yourself senseless. It would seem... ' He lowered his head for a moment, the tip of the spiral silver horn brushing over her of so daintily, from brow to cheek, just a whisper of a touch over the now dark bruise from her fall to the floor " that you took a rather nasty fall. " He rose his head back up, watching her carefully, waiting for her memory of the events before her fall to return, and to relay what had caused such a panicked and frantic dash so had so obviously been involved in.

She looked so out of place in this dark cold forest. Lush and beautiful as it was, it was a cold forbidding beauty. This little mare looked as if she should be basking in the warm sun in open fields. It seemed everywhere he turned in this place, there was something, or someone, that was just out of place. as if Melancholy were drawn here like the moth to the flame.

She couldn't help but notice the shift in stance, the protective posture that, with the help of the tree beside her, served to keep her safe. Safe.. She frowned again, burnished gaze dropping to the yellowed brown leafs that littered the base of the mammoth trunk she'd collided with. Something had been after her, but no longer. "He won't follow." Her tone was fragile, somber and quiet, but there was a surety to her words that was hard to argue with. She wasn't sure how she knew it, but the evil she'd fled from could not reach her here. It was a frustrating grain of knowledge, but it brought some measure of calm to her.

She stilled under the gentle brush of his horn, rolling her eyes up to watch him as he gazed at the blossoming bruise decorating her temple. Drawn from the metallic blue of his worried eyes to the glitter of stars tracing his cheek. "No.. I don't remember." Delicate features pinched minutely before smoothing. She tried to be alarmed at the void in her mind, but couldn't seem to muster up the energy beyond mild concern. On the bright side, if there was one, she couldn't recall that which had seemed to terrify her so thoroughly.

A shift of her weight let her draw long legs closer, knees curling under so she could get to her feet, if perhaps a little unsteady once standing. The broad trunk she'd fallen against before provided a helpful support in which to lean on until her balance returned and she felt steady enough to move away from it. Slipping up to the winged stallion's side, thin tail twitching nervously. The only betraying sign that her nerves were still upon her.

Drawing a deep breath, Habi turned her attention towards the trees that surrounded them, and for just a instant she was sure she'd caught a scent of something sweet and warmth before helpful thought presented itself. "I remember entering a forest and wandering. I got lost.. The rest is a blank. I can't remember between then and now." She glanced back up at him, brows twitching upward gently. As if asking what they should do next.

Ithildin watched her carefully, with a protective nature he had inherited from his father, eyes trailing down those slender legs to watch for a quiver that would indicate anything more serious then a bruise... But when he saw nothing he turned back to her face, listening to her words intently.

" It is not surprising that someone would become lost in this forest, the expanse of it is astounding. " He swished his tail, a considering look on his face as he pondered the lack of memories she had. Perhaps, she simply had hit her head harder then he had thought? It was not uncommon for a good knock on the head to jolt recent memories right out of the mind. Though she did sound fairly certain that whatever had been chaceing her, would not follow.

....But that did not mean other things were not here, watching. He knew very well how the cover of trees and the massive gnarled branches overhead gave for plenty of shadows for creatures to lurk in, and then add to that, that it was night... No here was not a safe place of a little injured mare to rest.

" Well then ' His own tail swishing back and forth as if it were a whip. He needed to help get this little flower out of the forest... but the way he had come was through the air, on the thermals carried by glittering wings... He flicked his eyes to the mares back... Wich was not an option here. " It would seem that, we shall have to get you out of here... " He tipped his head up, eying the thick branches above him, and turned to the direction that he had come from. Spying a little path, large ferns on either side creating a half covered tunnel through the underbrush, he motioned with his horn.

" I know for certain that there is a path out of here in that direction, Ill take you there. Its to dangerous " all though that much was obvious " for you to be darting around here all by yourself. You stand out like a glowing blossom amongst this dark forest backdrop. Your piratically begging something to take a bite out of you. " He said, motion to her own form with a tip of his head. " Well go slow... If your legs start to bother you, or your head starts to hurt from that bruise, you let me know, alright? " He said, still mildly worried that if a head injury could knock the memory right out of her, if she was in danger of passing out, or something worse.

" Oh... Please Exuse me, My name is Ithildin " He said, bowing his head, realizing how in these strange circumstances he had forgotten to introduce himself... But He thought his mother wouldn't be to ashamed, considering the oddity of their meeting.

She watched him, the way he searched the trees as well as the way he looked upon her with concern. It was actually quite comforting. She'd been alone for some time before getting lost, and having another body near, that she seemed to be able to depend on, was very nice. There was a selfish little piece of her that was glad for the concern, but she attributed that to homesickness.

Whatever the reason may have bee, she stuck close to his side, damn near huddling against the metallic foil of his delicate wings."If you know a way out I will gladly follow you." She tried for a smile, but suspected it wasn't half so bright as she'd been trying for. The bruise at her temple was beginning to throb now that she was on her feet. Not terribly, but she suspected it would get worst with time.

Of course, even on the cusp of a headache and borderline dizzy she couldn't help but respond to the compliments, no matter how passive they might have been. For all she knew he could have simply had naturally silver tongue to match his stunning wings, but all the same she stood a little straighter after he'd called her a glowing blossom. Sure it was a matter for vanity, but she wasn't feeling particularly pretty just then, what with her hair in disarray, pelt no doubt stained, and lovely bruise marring the side of her head. "Alright, I'll be sure to speak up if anything feels off." This time around her smile was much brighter.

She side stepped when he bowed, but only because she hadn't been expecting it, and she quickly regained her place near his side when he straightened. "My name is Habibi. It's nice to meet you, Ithildin. Even under these less then desirable circumstances." She paused, considering. "Or perhaps even more so because of them." She shuddered to think what might have happened to her if he hadn't stumbled upon her unconscious form at the foot of that tree.

"Shall we go then?" She gave a little gesture of her horn in the general direction he'd been talking about a few moments before.
