(: Virtues: Assertive— Gloria knows what she wants in life and knows exactly how she'll get it. She walks like an empress, as though every step was made with purpose. Her air is very grounded, the air of a leader. While she often challenges people verbally, she also does so in the way she carries herself because she knows who she is; Gloria is very self-aware. This young woman speaks her mind and does so with an uncanny confidence that leaves no room for objection. She's the self-proclaimed alpha dog, la abeja reina, wherever she goes.
Giving— She will give you the shirt off of her back, and God help you if you refuse to take it. To those she considers friends and comrades, Gloria is strangely compassionate with an affection as rough and coarse as the hand of the jibaro. If you're sick, she'll show up at your door without a word (or invitation), and pump you full of asopao de pollo before you can splutter a protest.
Gloria doesn't ask questions or nitpick when the going's tough-- if her friend needs a shoulder to cry on without being asked why, she's going to be there with shoulder-space for rent. Like a mother, she'll sit patiently and rub her child's back until the tears and sobbing are spent, without asking why they started in the first place.
She's the person you go to with problems you don't want to talk about but still want something done about. [Mouse P.]
Faithful— She sticks to her guns. If she thinks something is right, then it sure as hell is, and if she takes your side, then you'd best believe that she'll stick to your guns as well. Gloria will stand by her beliefs 100%, though most of her faith stems from raw determination. While she loves to be right, in this case, she wants things to be all right; she's driven by her resolve. Her convictions are near unshakable and if you stand by them as well, she makes for an amazing ally in that, unless proven utterly wrong, she will not let anyone change her mind. She'll believe in the person as much as she'll believe in their claim.
Sense of humor— Gloria loves to laugh... at anything and everything. She can make someone with the dumbest jokes feel good about themselves because she laughs genuinely, not to appease their uncertainty. In spite of her temper, almost every situation (unless she's angry) is brushed off with a chuckle and shrug. While misery loves company, she would rather accompany it with a grin until it decides to change its mind; after all, happiness is more contagious. There's no motive behind her humor— she's under the belief that everything is en las manos de Dios as Mami says, so there's no need to worry so much. Flaws:
Judgmental— She won't judge you based on appearance or social status; that's too low in her mind. No, Gloria will judge you based on your opinion. If it doesn't agree with hers, or worse yet, will not cow beneath her own, she'll bear a grudge to kingdom come and question your resolve. She'll even go as far as to regard you as naïve and laugh in your face! By sheer force of will alone, she will make you break. Gloria hates nothing more than to be questioned, so to have another outspoken and bold person come up against her would probably end in bloodshed as she will not back down or stay quiet. She constantly reasserts her opinions on others, which may or may not be accompanied by a roll of her eyes and a chuff of her breath.
Impatient— Get to the point already! Like the fire of associated with her sign's element, Gloria is a constantly changing, moving force. She has zero patience for indecision especially, and will absolutely lose her temper if she has to wait for someone to make up their mind. Even as a child, she quickly learned that indecisiveness was a sign of weakness and that there was never room or time for it. Her parents let her-- no, made her make her own decisions, from something as small as the color of her shoes to something as important as afternoon lessons. She was taught two things while still a babe: want and urgency. If she wanted something, she had to decide now and what; hesitation was met with 'no.' While she will wait, said wait-time is probably 30 seconds before she runs off to do her own thing.
Superiority complex— Growing up as the first child and being third generation in a wrestling family, Gloria is pretty sure that position of first? Yeah, that's hers. She deserves pushes before her other, perhaps more superior, peers, because she's a rising star. She's got talent and she can get things done, that's for sure, and because she knows she stands above AND over the rest, she deserves only the highest tier imaginable. Gloria has an inherent air of expectancy and she rushes to action with the thought that her way is THE way. She never stops to take others suggestions into consideration. Throw a match to push another wrestler? Hell no. Take your advice to avoid a potential pissing match? Not likely. She's glued to her proverbial high-horse.
Grudge-bearing— To wrong Gloria is to make a grave mistake, especially if she held you in high esteem at one point in time. She never forgets a slight, and every grudge is a perpetual thorn in her side. Even if you are to work with her, she will be less likely to maintain camaraderie if something goes awry-- in fact, you'll be the first to be forgotten in lieu of her own safety. You will become the sacrificial lamb since you sacrificed her trust.

we all wanna be famous, so say what you wanna say
Wrestling— Or rather, pro-wrestling. Gloria is more at home in the squared circle than she is under her parent's roof. She's at ease in her own skin when her body's poetry in motion or slamming some hapless victim into the mat. While coming from a lucha libre saturated family, she did not go without learning more technical styles like Pankration, and she has a solid background in MMA (with a special love for Muay Thai boxing). In fact, Gloria much prefers grappling over aerial moves, much to disdain of her father (and the pride of her grandfather).
Back in the day, Gloria petitioned to be on her all-male wrestling team in high school in order to keep her technical skill exercised, and in doing so became the first female on the team. While she didn't much enjoy the rigidity of the team, she didn't quit either; mostly because her father wouldn't let her. The moment she graduated, however, she shucked that skin, donned a luchador mask and entered the amateur pro-wrestling entertainment world in favor of the theatricality involved (not to mention the pay was nice and she already had a name, being a generation wrestler). It is, perhaps, the one decision her father didn't mind her making, and she's been carving a little niche for herself in the un-screened world ever since-- and is one step closer to debuting on-air.
Gloria is a third generation wrestler; both her father and grandfather participated in the sport, the latter having recently been inducted into the Hall of Fame for entertainment wrestling. Known as El Rey, her grandfather was renowned for his technical skill in the ring and his baby-face persona-- the veritable hero in the comic books, your regular Superman. When his son decided to don the mask, it was as El Principe, El Rey's flashy and morally gray successor. Between the ego and the cheating, it was just as difficult to love Principe as it was to hate him. Gloria is the best of both worlds-- at least, she likes to think so. While her father wanted to pass on his wrestling prowess to a son, he got a daughter instead. A daughter who might as well be a son!
Taking the title of La Abeja Reina (Reinita for short), Gloria is a ruda (bad guy) in the ring and a damn good one at that! While she ditched aerials in favor of grounded, technical moves, she still has the ability to be a spot monkey from time to time. Gloria is rough and no nonsense, a taunter, and a cheater, when on the mat-- her acting is almost as good as her wrestling skill.
She likes to move it, move it!— She tears up the dance floor whenever she hits up local Latin clubs and it takes more than her gaggle of girlfriends to pry her from the dance floor. And if Pitbull plays, forget it. She ain't leavin' any time soon.
Gloria was raised in a household saturated with Saturday night salsa parties where the coquito and bass flowed without pause. Family house parties would often grow into block parties as friends of friends of friends would invited themselves over to the Santiago-Velez place for good times and good liquor. Being surrounded by people and music is one of her most natural habitats. She still remembers when she first threw caution to the wind and danced merengue with her uncle on Christmas eve in front of her entire family. Her mother always told her that Puerto Rican women were born with rhythm in their hips, it's just a matter of unleashing it.
Eating— Gloria would like to inform you that the never-ending pancake deal at IHOP does, in fact, end-- usually after your tenth plate, when you're promptly billed and kicked out. ******** you, IHOP.
As active as Gloria is and coming from the family she does, her appetite is monstrous. She was raised with the belief that everything on the plate needed to be eaten, and if they made edible plates, that'd be goin' down the hatch too. From the chuletas to the very last gandule, nothing went to waste-- Mami would throw a fit otherwise. And Mami usually cooks for a small army.
While she should be eating healthier in order to maintain her weight and clean bill of health, Gloria is powerless when it comes to turning down a plate heaped with arroz con pollo, habichuelas rojas, and tostones. Tostones are probably her kryptonite, and if abuelito makes his famous mofongo con pulpo... forget her weigh-in and physical tomorrow morning! She's eating that and some of yours too. If it weren't for her father's constant heckling for her to be in their family-owned gym, she'd be a blimp.
Lisa Frank— So how about she can't choose between Hollywood Bear and Roxi and Rollie? Her bedroom is a veritable eyesore. Woe be upon her roommate.
It all started with school supplies. One folder of Forrest and Emerald began the heinous collection to end all collections! Mami blames Papi because of the flashiness of his once-wrestling career, and Papi blames Mami because she wanted to feminize a daughter that was 'growing up too tomboyish, mi vida, she's our baby girl, not our son!'
It wasn't until Felix was born that everything toned down-- everything but Gloria's technicolor love. Oh well, everyone will be exposed to her Markie body pillow.

Papito is Gloria's heart. She adores him in a way words cannot describe. Where she butts heads with her father, she could get away with murder with her grandfather. Their doting relationship was cause for friction between Papi and her when she was younger because of Ruben's place as a figurehead of the family, and Felipe's machismo. Whenever Papi said 'no,' Papito would most certainly say yes. Once a strict disciplinarian, the moment Gloria came into the world, he more or less degenerated into a coddling grandfather-- at first when no one was looking, to save face, but not anymore!

A charismatic man in the ring, Felipe was an unstoppable force in wrestling entertainment once upon a time. Unlike many pro-wrestlers, however, he vowed to remain outside of the ring upon retirement in respect of the craft-- El Principe lived and died in the squared circle-- and instead took over work at his father's gym to train new talent.
Gloria and Felipe's relationship is a strange one. On one hand, he's her father and knows best, but on the other, they act like old drinking buddies. Since Felipe's first child was not a boy, he decided to try for the next best thing: making his daughter into one tough cookie, and he definitely succeeded. Because they are so alike, however, when they butt heads, they butt heads hard. It's the sound heard across the world.

Gloria's mother is a pretty cool dude who doesn't afraid of anything. Maribel is a tomboy at heart, really, though with all the feminine wiles of a femme fatale and then some. While typically laid back, Maribel is the one woman that Gloria would never question or cross. Her dry and sarcastic sense of humor is like being grazed by sandpaper, but her warmth and presence draws like a flame.
She's a strong believer in the idea that if you want something done right, do it yourself, so when she asks you to do something... you'd better do it.  Felix Santiago Velez . younger brother . annoying know-it-all, middle school student
Ooh! As frustrating and spoiled as Gloria is, Felix is ten times worse and gets away with more than SHE does! He's the brattiest little boy she knows, but damnit, if he isn't her little man and she doesn't love him like she loves the air she breathes. On good days, Felix and her are the best of pals, but on bad ones... watch out, this wicked little guy has been known to throw her flattening iron at her! ...and get away with it!

Rosalie is a domestic longhaired cat, solid sleet gray in color except for some faded tabby stripes on her brow. Her eyes are a deep teal. She always looks like someone went and smashed the jam out of her doughnut, and will scratch you when you hold her too long and also not long enough. There's no winning with Rosalie.

Pretty much Gloria's best friend ever. She dated the putz on and off in high school for two years before they broke it off when she decided to pursue a higher education. Neftali is like Gloria's reminder of reality. He's a good guy, if not brutally honest, which she appreciates. A wild conspiracy theorist with the most cynical, dry, and pessimistic attitude this side of Destiny City.
They became friends after Gloria ruthlessly taunted him on how he wouldn't hit a girl. She was the first girl he punched (in the ring). When she called him out on it, he said -- and I quote:
"You're not a girl. You're a b***h."
