User Image Nightfall had descended on their home quickly and Saraneth had decided that it was a perfect time for her to go herb hunting. She was busy during the day either healing wounds, giving praises, or making talismans for the pride's Reavers, Freeborn and Thralls. Nightfall was the only time to herself she truly got as a priestess, so she took it to her advantage every time she got.

Bending over gingerly to pluck a pretty powder purple flower from the ground, she quickly tuck it in place behind her ear. Her decrepit bells clanged dully against her chest with her swift but steady movements and she looked around beginning her hunt.

"Stars, you offer me no light?" Saraneth said quietly, trying her best with what little light she was given to seek out the herbs she required.

User ImageGunnar preferred the early morning to the night, but he did enjoy the occasional stroll by starlight. The rest of his comrades were busy using the mint and fermented fruit they so enjoyed. Gunnar had taken some mint, enough to be friendly, and then quietly stepped out. He didn't want to be noticed, certainly not for avoiding too much intoxicant. The blond lion kept a rigid watch on himself even when drunk, but he still hated the potential risk of embarrassing himself.

He wasn't alone this night, it seemed. Someone else was out. Gunnar squinted in the dim starlight. A lioness. He couldn't quite make out who it was ... but when he heard the clanking of the bells, he knew. Saraneth.

Gunnar knew the priestess only in passing. He did know of her ... and he didn't want to get on her bad side. She was nosing about at the ground as though looking for something. Perhaps she needed help. Gunnar approached, calling softly so as not to alarm her. "Good evening, Priestess."

Saraneth's ears perked up immediately, but she was not startled, merely surprised that anyone else would be out at this hour walking about. Generally during the evening many of the Reavers and others would gather about and imbibe upon fermented fruit and mint leaves until their inebriation was more than apparent. It was a past-time of theirs that Saraneth didn't like to share in, both for the safety of her family's secrets as well as for the safety of herself. She didn't want to be taken advantage of, by anyone.

Saraneth rose her head gracefully and turned to Gunnar, meeting his eyes and dipping his head to him in greeting. Generally Priestesses were regarded in high esteem by all, considering their close-knit relationship to the gods, but Saraneth chose to regard her relationship to others in a much more impersonal matter. It was her way of trying to make others feel comfortable by showing mutual respect.

"Reaver Gunnar, good evening to you," Saraneth said, giving the blonde male a small and simple smile. "Your health seems well, the Gods are smiling upon you."

Matters of the physical world were really all Gunnar knew. The arts of the priestesses were strange and frightening to him. He didn't like unnatural things, supernatural things. But for all that the priestesses alarmed Gunnar, in person Saraneth didn't seem so imposing. Gunnar dipped his head in return, politely.

If she had been a male, Gunnar would have given the usual blustery greetings, perhaps accompanied by a good dose of bragging or even a challenge. Such was hardly appropriate when speaking with a priestess, however. He attempted to respond to her greeting politely. "Thank you. I am feeling very strong." He couldn't help preening a bit. "I am always very strong, of course."

Realizing that the priestess might not care for his boasting, Gunnar stumbled on. "And you look very wise. And ..." Females loved being told about their looks, but was it appropriate to compliment priestesses on their looks? Maybe she would curse him. "Very healthy," Gunnar finished.
