The Corner Bistro typically wasn't Elegancia's first selection for her coffee needs. However, it was easily accessible from where she lived and people wouldn't raise a brow at her if she stumbled in on crutches (It was these very reasons that usually veered her away from the cafe, actually).
As the annoyingly yellow taxi pulled up next to the quaint coffee shop, Elegancia dropped a one hundred-dollar bill into the cab driver's hand and told him to "keep the change." She wasn't used to riding around in public transportation, and honestly, she hated it. Unfortunately, her limousine was still in the shop from the encounter she had with Sailor Chaonis. Elegancia stuck a cast-covered leg out of the taxi, grabbed her crutches, and lugged herself towards the entrance of the cafe. In her mind, she felt as though everyone stopped what they were doing to stare at her in detest. Nobody cared.
The copper brunette, pitifully crutching over at a sluggish pace, noticed little Derp nestled under an outdoor table-- didn't she know that it was probably filthy beneath public tables?! Elegancia hurriedly made her way over to the little kitten, only stopping when a blue-eyed boy stopped her and pointed at a sign that read "Please Wait to be Seated~".

Despite his multiple attempts, Parker was unable to get hired back at GeekSquad. That left him to fill his days working lesser jobs, one of which was here at The Corner Bistro. It was a cafe he had always enjoyed. It was quiet, calm, peaceful. Most people there spent their time on laptops or chatting in lilting voices about art and music. It was the exact right amount of pretentious for the high-school drop-out. Plus, it was the very place where he had met Dani a year ago.
The uniforms were simple: all-black pants and shirt with a white apron tied at the waist. Parker was in a button-up rolled to the elbow and a pair of slightly worn black slacks. His Converses tied in nicely with the look, a small mercy, and he liked the place for that reason too.
That afternoon, Parker was working a double and texting Dani whenever he could grab a minute. He had just rounded the corner to head outside to the patio seating when he noticed a girl trying to chose her own. He pointed at the sign, but when she looked annoyed, he added, "Nevermind. Go sit where you'd like. Sorry, we only use that when we are busy." Parker looked around. "You should be good to pick your own now."
Why the sudden change of heart? Parker realized that it was his turn to get a table, meaning that this girl would be in charge of his next tip. Better make nice if he wanted to save up for a good anniversary gift for Dani.

It was rather filthy beneath the table, but for the kitten who had spent quite a bit of time dumpster diving for meals before first Mags, then Parker had saved her, it was nothing. Of course, if she looked pathetic and adorable enough, small children and teenagers were likely to give the little kitten portions of their pastries and other delicious things. She had tried to beg Parker to bring her something out and feed her, but he had warned that he wasn't really allowed to do it.
Seeing Elegancia, the fancy princess from the chocolate parlor who lived up at the pretty school Duhr went to had her all but bouncing with excitement. Parker was coming over too, so it was alright if she talked, wasn't it? Hopping up onto one of the empty chairs next to the pretty princess, tiny little Derp opened her mouth to speak, and was immediately cowed by two sets of eyes.
So instead of speaking out and begging for food, she got only a choked garble that sounded something like "FEEEE...MEEWWW." It was very hard, being adorable, tiny, and non-human.

Although she felt like being very contrary and rude to her server, Elegancia decided against it when little Derp made a point of hopping up and into plain sight. So, without a word, the brunette smiled diminutively at Parker and lugged herself over to the table where the kitten was situated. She did so rather ungracefully, dragging her casted-leg along with her and thrusting herself into a chair melodramatically. For a girl who had an insecurity of her handicap, Elegancia sure made a point of keeping her leg outstretched for everyone and their mother to see.
Derpraline had been a rare sight for Elegancia-- she hadn't seen the kitten since her awakening as a sailor soldier. Needless to say, she had quite the list of stories to tell the little cat. Would she understand? Probably not. Would she make adorable, fun company? Absolutely. Elegancia threw a warm smile at Derp before turning her head to Parker, only saying, "I want something vanilla. Go, go." She snapped her fingers at Parker commandingly, as if to say 'go now.' She wanted to talk to the kitten, but Elegancia most definitely couldn't do it when the bothersome waiter was around, now could she?

Parker stood there dumbly, clutching his white pad of paper for orders in one hand. Why did Derp hop up like that? Sometimes she would do it for attention when hanging around his place of business, but that usually only happened with customers who had food. And based on appearances, Parker didn't think this girl with the cast looked like the giving type. He was accustomed to seeing Derp get little kids and old ladies to feed her. Confusion was plain on his face when he shot the kitten a look, but it wasn't like he could have a word with her. Talking to cats was still regarded as weird by the general public, and Parker's boss had already given him s**t for having the cat around in the first place... even though customers seemed to really like her.
It didn't help that the girl who approached the kitten did so with all the vamp and pomp of a silent movie star.
Trailing silently behind the girl who was to be his (sigh) customer, Parker had just opened his mouth to ask what she would like to drink before she cut him off. "You mean... a drink?" he said. Her snapping fingers gave him the urge to throw his memo pad at her, but instead, he murmured something like I'll get right on that and then disappeared back to the kitchen to try to figure out just what to bring to the girl.

In this moment, Derpraline was utterly torn. Parker knew what she was, the Pretty Princess knew what she was, but they didn't know who each other were! It was one of those tricky Guardian Cat dilemmas that often had been breached in Derp's early days on the job. So many times senshi identities had been revealed when the fluffy little kitten had blathered on and on about things that neither of those in her company had any right to know about, yet did so anyway.
Blue eyes followed the waiter longingly as he walked away, before turning them soulfully onto Elegancia once more. "Fooooooood? Princess pleaaaaaaase!!" It was plaintive, tinny, and probably the most pathetic thing ever. It also didn't matter to Praline that Rosalind was nothing more than a basic senshi. She was pretty and elegant (haha) enough to be a princess, and thus the little Mauvian treated her as such.
It also helped her get along. Princess did not have very much patience with poor Derpraline at times, but calling her Pretty Princess always made her smile. She was so pretty. Parker did not seem happy though.
A little rumble from her tummy had the kitten clambering over into Ele's lap. "Foooooooood?"

"No, not food, little Derpraline. Something better!" Elegancia reached into her clutch purse and clasped something in her hands, making sure not so much as a peak was visible. "I know you're not my kitten," she began with a smile, "but I found this while shopping and thought it would look perfect on you." Elegancia released her grip on said item, and an elegant and dainty pearl collar dangled out of her hands. "It's not meant to replace your current collar, but perhaps it could lay over?" And she proceeded to do just that-- the pearls looked elegant over the blue. Very ladylike and becoming! "Oh, little Derpraline, if only you weren't a feral streetcat-- we could be very close friends!"
Although Elegancia did not identify herself as a cat person, Derp had a certain charm about her that was too hard to resist. Maybe it was the vacant-yet-knowing stare, maybe her dainty little voice, or maybe the bonnet-- something about her drove Elegancia nuts. "But if you were my cat," she said daydreamily, "you would be best friends with my dachshund, Foochie. And you would have your own silk bed, and a velvet scratching post, any food you desired... oh, you'd be in the lap of luxury!" She laughed, then added, "well, not that you aren't already." It was a tacky joke, but she liked it nonetheless. Elegancia was the kind of girl to laugh at her own jokes.
Then, for a moment, Elegancia lifted Derpraline up and did something normally unbecoming of her-- she cuddled with her face-to-face. If someone didn't interrupt her soon, she'd keep the poor thing hostage. And she wasn't even a cat person!
Oh, Derp.

Parker stood frozen several paces from the table. He could recognize the chirrups of the guardian cat's voice a mile away. She was... talking... to this girl? He flattened himself against the curtain that shrouded the path out to the dining patio and listened quietly to their conversation. Another waiter walked by carrying a tray of dishes. She shot Parker a confused glance, but then kept moving as if it wasn't odd at all to see a waiter hiding in the curtains from his own customers.
From where he stood, Parker couldn't quite make out everything, just that the girl was giving Derp some kind of fancy collar. And then... wait. Wait one goddamn second. Was this girl trying to convince Derp to move in with her? Parker's hand tightened on the honey vanilla cappuccino that was balanced on a saucer in his hand. A little espresso leaked down the side of the white teacup, pooling in the bent divot of the flat white saucer.
Derp was his cat, and she had a perfectly nice living situation already. The anger set in his brow. Parker wasn't about to listen to this for a moment longer.
He popped out from behind the curtain, setting the cappuccino down on the table with a rattle. "Honey vanilla cappuccino," he said tensely, completely ignoring the fact that this girl -- this... senshi? -- was in the middle of giving herself a cat-hair facial.
Parker hovered by the table and avoided eye contact with Derp. A part of him wanted to snatch up the kitten and march away, but he had no intention of giving himself away as a senshi. Now a better question... if this girl was a senshi, who was she?
