-- The Open Courtyard --

User Image

Located Inside the Great Dojo, this wide open area serves as the training grounds for many of the Otogakure's ninja, (or at least for those living in the town). It is a restricted area, where only official shinobi of the Otogakure are allowed to come and train, honing their skills and perfecting their ninja arts. Access to the Courtyard itself is rather strictly guarded and the only way into the courtyard is through the doors of the main entrance, and through to indoor training/sparring area inside. A specialized Genjutsu masks the open air above to anyone who would look in from the roof or the air. The Genjutsu creates a permanent illusion of an open and empty courtyard between the Dojo's many training buildings.

(This thread serves as the generic Otogakure Training Field, but with permission from the Otokage, any member of the village may select a personal training field with the Otogakure which they can consider their personal training area. At that point, that area, not the Courtyard gives them the benefits of 'Home Training Grounds'. The training however must still be done out of site of the general population to avoid giving away anyone's identity or their techniques)

"Jin, pay attention. We are going to work on the suiton jutsu," Taki said to Jin, his voice a monotonous growl that sent a chill up Jin's spine. Jin nodded. It was the element they had been putting off learning jutsu from for a while, simply because it was their tertiary element. But they both knew the importance of learning as much as possible to become better ninja in the long run. Jin and Taki both read at the same speed, but Taki took the time to read over it many more times than Jin in an attempt to get a better handle on it. Even so, Jin was a very calculating thinker, even in his erraticness. It was why he and Taki made such a good team. Even snap decisions for Jin and Taki were often well thought out maneuvers. So learning jutsu was never really a time consuming issue for the team. It was a simple thing for them to learn the hardest of techniques rather quickly, or make well thought out strategies in a manner of minutes between themselves. This is the reason why they were selected as captains of the ANBU in Otogakure.

To being, both of the brothers would do the same handselas they would for a raiton bunshin, except they would sub out the seals that would make the technique a lightning one, for water. They molded their chakra into a shape that matched their bodies next to them. They would then infuse these chakra molds with their suiton chakra, and the form would begin to reveal itself. At first, it was just a single colorless outline, but then the chakra making up the actual body of the clone would cause it to take on color and human likeness. It would move itself for the first time, examining itself, finding no errors, and then with a splash it would turn back into the water it had came from. ((1/1 for water clone technique. -3for tatical ninja, +1 for scroll= -2 posts.))

-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

With that over, the two moved to one of the most practical techniques in the suiton arsenal. Jin walked away quickly, going into the back room and retrieving a few pots with water and bringing them each out at once. He placed one before his brother, one between them, and one in front of himself. "Practical applications. So you should first work on melting as it is an exothermic change and will require you gather energy. As naturally boring as you are you are always giving all of your energy to me and thus an exothermic person. In the meantime I shall work on an endothermic change in the water by freezing it and giving away energy. Then I suppose we could reverse our roles and learn our opposite forces. Does that sound good to you Taki?"

During the time Jin had taken explaining all the mechanics of freezing and melting and the different methods of transferring energy, Taki had already began learning how to do it. He did the proper seals, holding the last one as he set his chakra into the water. At first, it began to slow the molecules in the water and cool it down by doing so. As the kinetic energy left, the water would begin to cool down and freeze inside the small pot. Without undoing the seal, his chakra suddenly began to break the arrangement of said molecules and push the molecules around, creating kinetic energies again and turning back to water before the water actually began to boil and evaporate. Taki wasn't even breaking a sweat. This was basic chakra control for him. Annoyed that his brother hadn't waited on him, Jin replicated his movements in the jutsu and began to cause the state of matter changes using the water manipulation jutsu as well. ((1/1 for water manipulation technique. see above post for math.))

"So the next one basically will show us how to turn into a puddle of water? So it is basically a kind of henge no jutsu?" Jin inquired as Taki read over it. He licked his lips behind his mask before speaking, and then looked at his brother. "I suppose, but this technique has much more potential than that wouldn't you agree?" Taki said as some of the sand from the ground kicked up and began to blow in his direction. He wiped it off of the scroll, the dialect still perfectly written in bright blue ink, and stood up. "I suppose." Jin felt as though learning techniques like these were a waist of time. In truth, he would need a technique like this more often, seeing as how his body was physically weaker, but he never saw it from that perspective. The only time henge no jutsu had ever came in handy was when the two needed to be incognito, as in without two heads...

So the twins would start the jutsu off simply. THey would do the handseals and gather chakra within themselves. The chakra would be unnatured, and merely as a basis for the jutsu. This chakra would over take them, filling every inch of their body and even a little of the air around themselves. Their bodies would begin to glow a little as teh chakra forced it's way out. Of course, this was only for the training. In the field the pair would be able to do it in less time, but this was only their first time. As such they would need to learn it step by step. Thankfully, they had each step commited to memory already. With the chakra control part of the training down packed, they would now have to infuse the chakra with suiton chakra.

As their chakra nature spread throughout their entire body, they could feel the effects of the jutsu. The chakra began liquefying their bodies. First, they would seemingly begin to sweat as drops of water fell from their heads chest and arms. The ground would become wet under them and they would begin to look as though their color was leaving them. The scroll had been moved a few feet away from the two thankfully, and they were smart to have done so. Though not quite the effect they wanted, the two could see the results of their labor coming forth already.

Finally, as the chakra completely took a suiton change in nature, the two would become clear, clothing and all, and sink down into the ground. It was odd being a small puddle of water, seeing only straight up into the air, but it was intriguing nonetheless. Taki and Jin would then have to learn to reform. It was like creating a water clone. They simply formed the same chakra that took them apart back into a human shape and sure enough they became humanoids once again. It was then that they removed the suiton chakra and their regular chakra returned to normal, leaving them as totally dry human beings again.

"So now what? Are we going to learn every single technique of each rank before we get to learning more of our specialty?" Jin began as Taki read over another jutsu that could prove a bit more useful, at least in providing distractions for them to move around without being noticed by their enemies. Taki saw this jutsu as a means of incapacitating an opponent who was already under a genjutsu. When he pointed to it and Jin read it he saw similar uses. "Oh I see! We could make a person drown with this technique if they were under the influence of a strong enough genjutsu." Taki shrugged. If anything, the pair could begin another jutsu using this one to begin it. Before they started the technique the duo worked together to get about ten more buckets of water and put them in two rows next to each other. "Alright, are you ready to begin?" THe took up positions next to each other and spread out their feet in a half horse stance. Their movements were fluid as the water they went to move as they began handseals.

As this was done, the chakra they had expelled floated over to the buckets, each one to their own set, and began to mold itself into the shape of pincers above the buckets. Clearly, the water had not yet moved, but they were providing a base for it. he chakra wasn't visible, but they could feel it and that was how they were controlling it. They tried to make the chakra more solid and stable, as opposed to just some random energy that was moving of it's own accord> They were very fast workers, getting a handle on the chakra as fast as possible.

Now that they had that, the water in the buckets would begin to move and ripple as a force of nature acted upon them. It would be as if it was being affected by a new from of gravity as it raised from the buckets collectively and began to take shape. It was a flimsy, unreliable shape, but a shape nonetheless. The twins would keep it together using more of their chakra acting as a holding force on the outside of it and gave it better shape in general while also making it more stable and stronger force.

Now that they had this singular form in front of them ((one for each to be exact)) they began to continue their fine tuning of the technique. THey had forced it to be completely still, now they just needed to force the jutsu itself to move completely and of it's own accord. Using a bit more of their own chakra they made the pincers actually slam themselves closed and then open again> BUt this one little motion was more than the jutsu, still unstable, could handle. AS it fell the twins nodded to each other and began a last try.

"Alright, BEACH CRAB JUTSU!"As they called this out the water would almost immediately shoot up from the buckets and rise into the heavens, even if only slighty, and slam shut around an enemy that wasnt even there. Proud of the work they did the twins high fived, Jin with energy, Taki with relief, and wiped a single bead of sweat form their heads.

As Taki read over the contents of the scroll, JIn would begin to pant a little, only slightly, but enough for his ever aware brother to understand what was beginning to happen, even if a long way off, and rolled up the scroll. "Okay, come on," He said holding out his hand and placing it on Jin's shoulder. "We can continue at a later time. I don't need you getting tired and worn out," he said as Jin smirked in understanding. It was back to hiding for him for now. There was a moment of silence as Jin began to meld with his brother, genin and chuunin all around beginning to stop and watch as logic took a backseat to kekkei genkai. It wasn't painful at all, in fact there was little sensation at all involved in the process. Just a numb feeling in the area he was molding with. When the process was done, Taki did handseals quickly, and with preciseness. A poof of smoke went up and Taki was again a single form. A transformation no jutsu. He exited, walking back inside the Dojo to check on the boy he had earlier seen.

As he returned with his newest student, Taki would first get them an area near a wall, and then throw a kunai at it. Being blunt and not expecting him to be able to, Taki said three words. "Get it down." There wasn't much to it, but he was sure the boy would be confused. He had an intricate way he liked to train, and this was the beginning of it. He was sure it was out of jump range too. He awaited a response from the boy.

Tenza walked behind Taki and as soon as he threw his kunai to the wall he sighed. " What kind of training is this?" He questioned Taki as he took out his own kunai and looked at Taki. " No wonder you are that weak." He said referring to his earlier kick, which left Tenza unimpressed. He threw his kunai at Taki's kunai and turned to face his "teacher". " Well, weak isn't the word I'd use... It was just a kick..." He then told Taki, trying to get in his head.

((Why does a student have kunai... i'll never get that.))

In half a second, Taki threw a kunai that knocked his off course. He would walk over to the boy, lift him with one arm, and bring him to eye level. "It was just a kick. A simple throwing of my foot. Now imagine what would happen if I were to throw an all out attack at you..." he trailed off amused at his student yet again. He would drop him, and walk to the wal. What he would do would no doubt be something Tensa had never seen, but something he would need in the future. He actually walked up the wall and stood over the boy's target. "Walk up here, and grab it. That is your first mission as a ninja."

As soon as he was dropped Tenza sighed. " Is that a threat... or a promise?" Tenza told Taki. 'Okay... that one went to far...' he thought as he quickly bowed before Taki as a sign of forgiveness. " I'm sorry, I should watch my mouth." Tenza told Taki as he walked toward him.

Taki would only nod to his student, but behind his mask he would smile at the escapades he and the golden haired boy had with Jin. Reaching into his pocket, he threw a cookie directly into Tensa's mouth. Where it came from, no one knows. Either way he was forgiven. "A good idea would be to being channeling that wild chakra of yours into your feet. That is the first step to completing your mission." He would watch carefully, Jin becoming bored quickly with the slow pace Taki was going.

As the cookie flew toward him he moved his hand and grabbed it. " What flavor is this cookie?" He questioned as he looked at the cookie rather temptingly but he just put it on his pocket. " Chakra on my feet... You know... I could just run... and save chakra for something more useful..." He said using some common sense as he began to pick up his pace now running toward the Kunai.
PostPosted: Thu Dec 09, 2010 5:02 pm

"DO AS YOUR TOLD!" he said moving quickly enough that Tensa wouldn't be able to react and moving to flick in on the forehead. "What happens when you need to STICK to the wall?" he asked angrily. "Now do it." ((These are your training posts.))

Tenza's forehead was flicked by Taki and he rubbed it gently. " Yea... Doing things by the book... Isn't my strong point..." He said as he made a seal and began to focus his chakra on to his legs and jumped back. " Taki...Are you really gonna be my teacher?" he questioned the man, to say the truth, Taki really fitted his style.
PostPosted: Thu Dec 09, 2010 5:44 pm

"Why would I have brought you to the training grounds if I weren't serious about your training?" he asked rhetorically. No sooner was the boy beginning to channel chakra into his legs did Kay nod. THe boy was progressing nicely. "Now what you want to do, is use this same chakra to hold you onto the wall. It's simply really, just be sure to keep the flow of chakra constant. If you don't, you will fall, and then have to refocus the chakra." He said handing him a kunai. If you feel yourself about to fall, mark the wall with a kunai slash.

((I did the math, you only need three posts. Two more actually sicne you have the chakra control part down> Even so, make a few attempts in each post so the kunai method comes in handy.

" Well, you could have brought me here cause you had nothing better to do..." He said pointing out a possibility. The student looked at the kunai which was on the wall and dispelled his chakra. " Use the same chakra huh?" Tensa said with a sigh as he formed another seal and placed chakra on his feet and then ran toward the wall, he put his foot to the front, his foot got stuck on the wall thanks to the chakra and with the momentum he moved the other foot, but he really didn't last much, he ran up the wall a foot and he felt his chakra disappearing, so he stabbed his kunai there.
