The Pridelands looked unusually green today, as the adult sat upon the rock, his scarlet eyes travelling across the green borders of the Pridelands. He couldn't help thinking that he hadnt been as good a dad to his children as he hoped, though he had tried to socialize and tried to take them for hunts and etc, he couldn't help but think his children were growings likes and dislikes of their own, and he knew soon, they would be old enough to leave. He wasn't ready to say goodbye to either of them yet. It seemed like they had only been born yesterday.
He hdn't seen his mate in a while either, and this made him lonely amoungst all the other factors. "Bakhti, where are you?"

She had been wandering, the news that her daughter was leaving her family, her home, it upset her. She hadn't seen her mate for ages and it was now that she wanted him most but she knew not where to find him to laid on her rock, the rock she had claimed to be her's the first time she stepped into the Pride Lands.
She let her mind wander, wondering what she had done wrong for Kiburi to be leaving them, why? There were so many dangers out there, it wasn't safe but yet she was on her own and, oh Bakhti just needed to rest, or have something to take her mind off the loss of her daughter.

Mahiris thoughts were stopped mid-track as he saw the beautiful honey coloured lioness that his heart belonged to. "Bakhti!" He called out happily, jumped down from the rock to greet her, his tail moving happily and grinning widely, though as he looked into her beautiful sky-coloured eyes, he wondered if there was anything wrong, and voiced that thought. "Bakhti honey, is anything wrong?" He moved foward to lick her cheek thoughtfully.

Bakhti's head lifted and her ears moved forward a little as she heard her voice called. She turned to see the ivory and chocolate colours that made up her mate. "Oh Mahiri!" She turned and ran to meet him, moving swiftly off the rock. She let her face bury in his mane as he spoke. She retreated from his mane and looked at him, "I don't know if you know, Kiburi is leaving us.. She wants to be a rouge and leave the pridelands.." Bakhti still could not understand this, growing as a rouge had been horrible and she had hated it but now, oh why was her daughter leaving?

Those words hit him like a ton of bricks, crushing his very frame, leaving his brain to collapse hopelessly. The exictment and happiness that he had felt at the first sight of him mate had now fell, a desperate and upset emotion overtaking it, complete with a feeling of utter bewilderment. "Oh my..." His deep throat was unusually wobbly. It only seemed like his little girl had been born yesterday and already she wanted to leave. Mahiri paused, saddened. Did he really know his daughter? He was never there. Why was he such a bad parent? He questioned himself. Had all his time away led to this? Sighing he looked up to Bakhti. "I must talk to her, I must..." Were the only words he could force out of his parted mouth, scarlet eyes and concered mind heavy with worry.

Bakhti looked at her mate and nuzzled him. "Oh love don't blame yourself, from whatI heard she was planning on telling you and not me. I found out from overhearing a conversation." She sighed and licked at her mate. "I am goin to take her away, show her around the southlands and other lands untill I am sure she will be ok, then return to let her say goodbye." The golden lioness let her head vanish amoungst her mates mane. Oh how nice it was to be this close to her mate and how she could not wait to leave and return to him once more.

"But" He said, his voice becoming hushed. "She's our little girl, and she's my little princess." He hung his head, pieces of his chocolate mane falling over his face. "I cannot let her go!" Mahiri had unwillingly let go of something before, and he wasnt about to say goodbye to another he loved.
Pausing, the cogs began to turn in his head. He realised that he had had these thoughts when he was her age, and if he remembered correctly, even a cautious old younster such as Maawio thought about and attempted to leave. Though he knew that his daughter was going to leave, and felt truly upset that he knew this was going to happen, and he truly couldn't do anything but stand by and watch.

Bakhti nuzzled her mate, "Nearly all cubs go through it, when I first met Maawio she was doing the same but she is still here, Kib will come back. We can't cling to her, it will only drive her away for good!" She looked into his eyes and smiled at him, "Mahiri, we will be ok, at least Mchele is staying as I couldn't bear losing them both even if it is only for a short time. She nuzzled him and moved as close as she could to him, she never wanted to let him go. She loved him so much.

Shifting his weight to fall to the floor, he nuzzled Bakhti gently. "I know deep in my heart that you are right..." Pausing again, both scarlet eyes traced the ground, then Bakhtis paws, then he beautiful blue-eyed face. "I love you, and you are the only one who can sane me during these times." Sighing heavily, he thought of his little honey coloured boy. "Ahh, Mchele, my boy." A smile graced his maw for the first genuine time that visit, and he thought of the times he would have with his son, the hunts, the playfights. Oh he would make sure they had them, alright!

She smiled at her mate, "We always said about extending our family aswell!" She winked at her mate and let out a small giggle. She was happy to be with her mate and the prospect of ahving more cubs when she returned always brought a smile to her face.

"Extending, family?" He was clueless for a moment, then he caught on. "Ohhhhhhhhhh!!" He let out a low rumbling laugh. "We'll yes, theres always that." His tone became slightly cheeky, harmlessly cheeky though. "If you are willing to go through all that pain again of course. I'm certainly glad I'm not the woman, that's for sure!" Laughing again, his low voice rose and he voiced one of his long term thoughts. "I'll be the father the children need, if we were to breed again. I'd show you how much of a great dad I can be!" His chest puffed out proudly, bearing his ivory teeth at his mate in a massive grin.

She chuckled as he caught on, "We shall wait till I return though ok?" She tilted her head to one side and just smiled in a slightly playful way. She would be more then happy to have another litter, however many there were, she could deal with it!

Smiling to himself, he pulled himself up yet again. Deciding it was irritating to lug too much weight around, her stopped near Bakhtis head, nuzzling her once more, and stopping to lick her cheek lovingly. He gave her a warm gaze. "Whenever you are ready, love." Purring happily he flicked his tail and walked around her, holding her gaze in a loving lock and keeping the warm smile upon his maw.

She let the smile crawl across her face as she turned, "for now I shall see Kib and take her away, then, when I get back..." She winked at him before running offf to find her daughter, she had to teach that girl some things.

Bakhti and Kib had returned. She wasn't happy, it was plain to see and she had left her daughter with her son and gone to find her mate. He would have to say goodbye to her aswell but for now, Bakhti just wanted to be with him, her eyes were saddened and for this moment in time she wanted to just be with Mahiri and maybe play and do what they said about doing before she left. She wanted to do something that would take away the pain of her daughter leaving.
