He had come a long way. A long long way. In the begining he had been a total fool of a lieutenant, somehow blundering his way through his starseed collection and managing to not get toasted by a senshi. Somehow he managed before Zink joined their ranks, and after that everything started to look up.

Sure, there had been bumps along the road. And sure, Zink and him didn't always get along. But if it was possible to compare Lieutenant Scheelite to Captain Scheelite side by side one would see a difference. He was smarter (for Scheelite that was), trained, and after the most recent events in his life a bit more serious. Sure, that glowstick loving guitar hero playing fool was still there somewhere, but on his missions he had gained a noticeable coldness.

It was almost...eerie.

Tonight, Scheelite sat perched on top of a favorite rooftop. Perhaps it was the abundance of neon signs nearby that always seemed to calm his nerves, or maybe it was something else. Whatever it was, he often returned to this place to scope out his targets for the night, or on occasion simply think. Tonight was such a night.

Zink's boots scraped slightly as he made his way to his long time companion, sometimes irritant and often confidante.

He stood silent for a long moment too, staring out over the neon lights that cut into the darkness like electric dagger edges. The wind was just cutting enough that he was glad for the mask his new uniform had brought, though he was quite sure that come summer it would be the utter bane of his existence.
"... as the famous movie line goes..." He quipped turning his gaze towards the blond, "Why so serious."

Behind his mask he quirked a small smile before it vanished in a cold that was far more customary on his own face.
Even as a civilian Zac was always serious, Zinkenite only reenforced that ideal forging it from ice to a diamond hardness that was growing sharper with time.

He heard him coming of course, though even if the slight scraping of boots against the rooftop hadn't alerted him to the other's presence he would have known. Scheelite really didn't know how, but he figured it came with the whole boyfriend thing. He just knew when Zink was around, and really it wasn't such a bad 'skill' to have.

A small smirk of his own crossed the blonde's face before he gave his simple reply. "I remember a time you wanted me to be serious, ya know?"

Scheelite stood, kicking some small bit of rooftop debris off said rooftop and watching it careen to the ground below. "Sooo...how's the whole captain thing going for you? We haven't talked about it much since the promotion..."

"I didn't say serious was a negative, I simply asked the cause of it." He said with a small sniff. It -was- an anomaly though, he rather disliked anomalies. Demy acting serious was well... like a Pyromaniac declining an available flammable substance or matches.
"It... goes well I think. My team is shaping up well, I have my eye on at least one more candidate whom I hope to draw in soon... I'll be sure to let you know if I can... who knows she might be snatched up by someone else."
He shrugged casually.

"Though I find it more than slightly ironic that thus far my team is comprised of young WOMEN when I am far more accustomed to working with YOU." He nodded slightly towards Scheelite.

"...I guess I'll just have to work on outranking you so that you'll be on MY team." it was at least -sort- of a tease, though in truth he had no intent of 'stalling out' at Captain. If that girl with the bunny plush could have people whispering that she would soon be General then by god HE could do it.

"Just thinking, it's not the end of the world even though -you- might think it is." He turned back to Zink with a smirk to prove it was just a joke. Though when Demy was his -usual- self one would be hard-pressed to find him not grinning in some way shape or form.

"We can still work together ya know, though that team full of girls thing sounds er....interesting.'
Ugh. Boobs. This reminded him he needed some -boys- on his team to avoid being surrounded by boobs at all hours of the day.

"I don't plan on stopping either..." Though there had been a time he'd be fine with just captain status. It was a step above lieutenant so he wouldn't always be bottom rung, but a step below general where s**t was serious business. Now? Well...now he simply wanted to go as far as he possibly could. A change of heart, one had to guess. A dark change.

"Though speaking of teams, guessssss what I started onnn~"
PostPosted: Fri Oct 29, 2010 8:11 pm

"Your team I hope" Zink said glancing back out over the city... the comment about not planning on stopping either did earn him a flicker of a glance. It was unclear if there was pride there, that such ambition had passed on, could it have been a troubled glance?... or...

Perhaps, it was pure ambition, a flair of competitive fire that sparked there in his eyes.

"Whom have you chosen so far? Or were they assigned?" He asked casually.

Who knew? They had been promoted to captains together. Perhaps one day they'd pass on to generals together too. Though the idea of Scheelite as a general probably still sent shivers down most of the Negaverse's spine.

"Of COURSE it's my team! Picking my own people...have to pick people who will match my own awesomeness. ...Though not completely, I'm still more awesome obviously."
Well, at least traces of Demetri Wright still lingered beneath Scheelite's colder exterior.

"Just one so far, Paragonite. She'll be my second, but I don't really know who else to go for..." Here he bit his lip before finishing the response. "It's uh...not as easy for me, heh. I guess lieutenants would flock to you over me..."
PostPosted: Fri Oct 29, 2010 8:37 pm

A sharp glance at the name... Paragonite had been assigned to their team not long before 'the incident'. Useful in that her costume looked exceptionally close to that of a Senshi, farily good weapon with her baton, but he wished he knew more. "She asked to be on your team?" He said carefully wondering."

"Fayalite...And Selenite are mine, Selenite will be my second, ambitious but it will suit her better to fill that roll."

"....I asked---er, told her she was on my team. With all of us getting promoted she was sort of just -there- and she's a good lieutenant. I trust her..."
He also liked to crash her house and hang out at all hours of the day. Now he had even more authority to do so!

Fayalite's name earned a nod, but mention of Selenite earned a sharp glance back from Scheelite. Selenite...Selenite...where was that name familiar?...

OF COURSE!

"Selenite? I...she was in that place with me...you know, the whole dream thing! She was there man... I know I don't remember it all that well but I swear to you -she- was definitely there."
Was it really important? Possibly not, but it certainly was unnerving to the blonde captain. Most things that reminded him of time spent trapped in the dream world and the emptiness that followed seemed to unnerve him.

Zink gave him a long look over where he'd seen Selenite, that was a curious fact after all. Strange still to think about a communal dream that seemed to have no purpose.
"Curious, and how did she behave herself in 'there'?" he asked casually.
He was surprised that Scheelite had asked ANYONE with 'boobs', or demanded if his correction was to be believed at all. It made him wonder if his particular near phobia had been slightly...lessened.

"I...remember her not really being amused with the situation, but I don't think we really interacted much. I just...don't remember..."
Whether it was because it was a -dream- world that the blonde couldn't remember, or the fact he simply didn't want to, most discussions about such things quickly led back to his excuse of not remembering. He still looked troubled however.

"I'm sure no matter -how- she acts you'll whip her into shape soon enough, right?"
PostPosted: Sat Oct 30, 2010 12:48 pm

"I suppose so, I'd rather not break her though, she seems ambitious and if she keeps up with the ranks I may use her again after I become general." He glanced at Scheelite with that "there is do doubt that I -will- be General smile.

"Are you alright?" He added with a softer note of concern normally reserved for behind closed doors when he was sure no one else could hear.

"No."
Well...it wasn't the evasive 'I'm fine' that Zink had likely become accustomed to. But it wasn't like his partner was offering any information beyond that either.

"I just...that whole thing bugs me man. I don't...like not knowing what happened. It could have been important..."
PostPosted: Sat Oct 30, 2010 5:37 pm

"....better than "i'm fine..." He said after a moments surprise and sighed softly sitting down beside the Taller blond.
"Well... they do sometimes say that talking helps one recall, it's not an uncommon psychiatric practice...would you like to talk to me about it? Or I can lend you a note book and you can write it down..."

With a loud sigh Scheelite flopped back down to sit beside the other.
"There's..not much to talk about. I -wish- there was, but I don't remember much of the foresty thing. You mentioning Selenite just...reminded me she was there."

He scooted forward a bit more, allowing his legs to dangle over the rooftop edge while he watched the city below. As the days went by Scheelite was doing this more and more often. Silently contemplating and staring out at the scenery. It was...odd, and really a habit that would have seemed more in place with Zinkenite's behavior.

"I don't remember before...I remember after, but there wasn't much there. Just emptiness and silence..."
