Tactical Information

Here you can find helpful info on the following: Ninja ranks, factions, and tags. If you have any further questions, please feel free to PM a crew member and they will answer whatever questions/concerns you may have.

Ninja Ranks:

Academy Student: This is where your characters start off. Don't worry you won't be here for long. Once your profile is approved your clear to go on over and take the genin exams.

Genin: The lowest rank of ninja, this is your first taste of a shinobi's life. Given a squad and 2-3 teammates, they learn under the guidance of their teachers. Mostly they are sent on D-rank missions, possibly C-Rank, giving them the more tedious and less dangerous tasks.

Chunin: These ninja are qualified to watch over and guide others, they have passed what is known as the chunin exams. Most are a academy teachers, but in some cases they can lead their own squad. Like genin they are placed into a squad, but this squad has no sensei and normally consists of three members total. They are normally sent on C-Rank and B-Rank missions.

Jonin: These shinobi are highly skilled and most often serve as both military leaders, and sensei to genin squads. Jonin are usually able to attain two types of elemental chakra, and a wide variety of jutsu. It isn't unusual for jonin to be sent on missions alone, unlike genin and chunin who are sent in squads. They are usually sent on A-Rank missions, although in some cases they are sent on S-Ranked missions.

Missing-Nin: These are ninja who have left their village, with no intentions of returning. This is often because of a crime committed or to pursue personal gains. They are composed mostly of S-Class missing-nin.

Ninja Factions

Shinobi: Most come from a hidden village, of which some come from specialized ninja clans, and will perform missions for a fee. These missions can include: doing manual labor, acting as escorts, gathering secret information, retrieving stolen items, carrying out assassinations, etc. In times of war, ninja will come together to defend their villages and land. The clearest characteristic of a shinobi is their ability to manipulate chakra to create and use jutsu.

Akatsuki: An organization composed mostly of S-Class missing-nin; they are the most wanted group in the shinobi world. Their ultimate goal is that of world domination, by any means they deem necessary. Although some join for personal gain, they are all united in their main purpose. One way they plan on achieving their goal is that of capturing all nine tailed beasts.

Hebun Ryouchi: This group is also composed of missing-nin. These individuals are responsible for the creation of neo-bijuu. Not much is known about this organization though.

Ninja Tags

ANBU: This is short for Ansatsu Senjutsu Tokushu Butai (Special Assassination and Tactical Squad). ANBU members wear porcelain animal masks to distinguish themselves from normal shinobi and also to conceal their identities. These indivduals are handed picked by the Kage. They protect the village from exceptional threats, conduct high-risk missions into enemy territory, and deal with extremely strong ninja. They are also responsible for carrying out assassinations, tracking, surveillance, and missions requiring specially trained ninja. Some ANBU serve as interrogators that probe the minds of enemy ninja to learn information valuable to the village. If an ANBU is mortally wounded in battle, they are required to destroy their bodies to prevent any information from getting into enemy hands.

Medical-nin: Medical-nin are ninja who specialize in medical treatment and use of medical-oriented jutsu, to heal others. Becoming a medic-nin requires high intelligence and excellent chakra control. A medic-nin is trained to avoid getting injured in any way, for the reason that if they are injured, then there would be nobody to heal the other members of their team. Medic-nin accompany other ninja on high ranking missions to increase the success rate of the mission and overall survival rate of the squad.

Hunter-nin: Hunter-nin are a special team within Kirigakure's ANBU, given the specific duty of hunting down missing-nin. They could be seen wearing standard armored ANBU uniform or, in some instances, a blue kimono with a striped, turtle-necked undershirt. They may also wear a mask with thin slitted eye-hole and a wavy design in place of the mouth. They kill their target, taking the head as proof, and then completely dispose of the body by using various methods, such as cremation or the summoning of wild carrion crows to devour the corpse. This is done in order to make sure the village secrets which a ninja's body holds, such as chakra types, herbs eaten, ninjutsu, special medicine, and kekkei genkai will not be revealed to outsiders.

Bloodline Ability Information

Here is an in depth look at bloodline ability. Hopefully this will answer any and all questions about bloodlines. Here we go.

1. Bloodline abilities can be canon abilities from the Naruto universe, such as Sharingan, Byakugan, the works. HOWEVER, you can only have these if your last name is Uchiha or Hyuuga. The names must match.

2. You can have a CUSTOM bloodline ability, for sure. You must first get it approved in the bloodline approval thread. Easy as pie.

3. OTHER THAN THAT, if you have a bloodline ability, it must be an elemental combination. Elemental combinations are listed below. These are pretty cool, by the way.

~~~IMPORTANT~~~
Combination abilities are awesome. AND, you're allowed to use these as Genin. Isn't that cool? It's like having 2 elements at once. Except it's not. Like say if you have STEAM release as your ability, that's cool. You can use it. But you can't use fire or water elements, which are used to make steam, until you advance. Let me give an example.
I'm a Genin. I can use STEAM release.
Then as a Chunin, I can use STEAM and FIRE release
Then as a Jonin, I can use STEAM, FIRE, and WATER release.
If you're just a normal shinobi, you do it backwards. Start off with one element, get another as a Chunin, then get the combo as a Jonin.
If you have any questions, PM me. Grazi!
Combination Abilities
All information can be found right Here
Combinations can be used as a Genin, with no other element, or as a Jonin, with other elements. If you choose to only have one element, you can have an empowered version of it, making you stronger just the same.
Combustion, Neton (Fire + Fire): the combustion element masters the ability to burn given materials, wind users can’t face this element and hope to have a chance, in fact even normal water will not put out the flames created by this chakra, only a level two combination of water with another element can hope to dowse these flames.
Poison, Dokton (Fire + Wind): This Element is the potent combination of Fire then Wind that allows for the complete control of toxic gases and poisonous substances… the user creates them by burning the materials needed for recipes of death and uses wind to direct and funnel their smoke wherever they want… in it’s earlier stages it allows for thick clouds of gas, in it’s crueler higher skilled attacks can be invisible or otherwise detected too late after the victim is caught in the users clutches!
Plasma, Purton (Fire + Lightning): the “Element of the Sun” as it is refered to… it is a potent mix of Fire then Lightning chakra that allows one to create a substance that has the brightness and burning power of the Sun… burns from this substance are extremely painful and are not wholly healable for people who are lucky, or unlucky enough to survive an assault by users of this formidable element.
Magma, Maton (Fire + Earth): this chakra affinity allows the user to summon from the ground molten earth and control over the substances movements… this deadly fusion of Fire then Earth can create a landscape of ash and fire, but will fee water based charkra attacks if they get careless.
Steam, Joton (Fire + Water): This mixture of the forces of Fire then Water in chakra give the user ability to create clouds of vapor that are actually boiling hot… they can control geothermal upwelling and also manipulate the steam into forms allowing for potent and painful illusions.
Sound, Oton (Wind + Wind): The combination of wind then wind allows for the free control of air particles, creating, destroying or otherwise manipulating sound, regular flames will not work against sound as it is too powerful a force to stop with just a fire.
Light, Toton (Wind + Lightning): This balancing of wind then lighting energies, allows for users to alter the hues of the colors around them, create beams of light, and also electrocute enemies… the principle is by controlling wind and mastering the separation of different chemical elements of the air such as Neon for example, and then exciting that substance with electricity, one can manipulate, and create light energy.
Phasing, Souton (Wind + Earth): This technique allows by controlling the molecules of substances for the free passing of persons or objects through other matter… by using both wind then earth chakra together one can control all of the particles of matter that make up their surroundings, and allows for interesting variations that include the Kaguya Clans ability to make the bones of their body grow and change their attributes, and another variation in the sound brothers Ukon and Sakon who can rematerialize themselves in one or two bodies at will.
Shadow, Kagton (Wind + Water): this element comes from the ability of users to use control over the air and the transparency of it’s vapors to manipulate and control shadows… By mixing wind and water charkas one can create a link between their own and another’s chakra… the famous application is the Nara Clan’s Shadow Possession techniques that use shadows to bridge a link between them and a victim allowing for the control of movement.
Flight, Hiton (Wind + Fire): This element is the mastery of the creation and control of hot air a.k.a. Thermals… by controlling winds and air temperature with chakra users of this element can use this ability to make flat buoyant objects fly, it allows for fatiguing and dehydrating wind attacks, and also this ability allows for the bending of light into genjutsu mirages.
Magnetism, Jiton (Lightning + Lightning): The combination of lightning and lightning allows for the control of magnetic polarity of ions in the air, allowing the user to fight using attracting and repelling magnetic forces.
Gravity, Geton (Lightning + Earth): This element combines the powers of Lightning and Earth charkas to control the force of gravity and it’s effects on objects persons and the environment… controlling the very weight of everything is a potent weapon and can leave a victim flattened, disorientated, and in worst case utterly helpless.
Storm, Araton (Lightning + Water) the abilities granted by mixing an electric field and water is of course weather control, this chakra ability can shape and control storm clouds, it can also alter pressures, temperatures, and compositions of the air.
Radiation, Houton (Lightning + Fire) by combining Lightning then Fire chakras this element controls the heat and reactivity of substances at the molecular level, by controlling the heat and particle transfer at the subatomic level users of this element use subtle but powerful attacks that in their early stages fatigued and or sterilize victims, in their highest and most unstable stages create reactions of cataclysmic proportions… it is rumored that Chakra Absorbers are of this elements affinity.
Shock, Kyoton (Lightning + Wind) this element controls the positive or negative charge in opposing bodies of energy and create static charges… this of course can be used to channel electricity more effectively, but also allows for more subtle and more interesting variations… … at any rate all applying the ability to control the charge and flow of energy is key in this element.
Metal, Kinton (Earth + Earth): Adding earth chakra with more earth chakra will allow the user to create and manipulate different forms of metal… you’d think that a normal blast of lightning chakra would be enough, but metal users are immune to level 1 lightning chakra, they ground it before ever being affected.
Plantlife, Mokuton (Earth + Water): the user that correctly molds earth then water chakras gains the ability to control, grow or otherwise generate plantlife… the most prevalent application of this fusion was the first Hokage and his manipulation of wood.
Glass, Gaton (Earth + Fire): users who can fuse earth and fire can create molten or solid forms of glass… skill levels of lesser users can only create shards of it that in either liquid or solid state try to cut or burn the victim, but higher level users can create solid forms of Obsidian.
Sand, Saton (Earth + Wind) the ability to manipulate sand is given by users who can mold earth and wind into one element… this ability is not only given in the Kazekage’s clan… lesser users can manipulate dust clouds highest skilled shinobi can use metallic sand to fight with.
Explosion, Baton (Earth + Lightning): Fusing Earth chakra then Lightning chakra forms the ability to create and form explosions out of clay, phosphor, nitroglycerin and other volatile substances… This ability is idealized in the shows staple demolitions expert Deidara who can mold explosive clay into living objects and produce concussive and bombarding forces with them.
Liquids, Ekton (Water + Water): fusing two chakras with water energy together forms a chakra that can control any liquid, fire users beware this power allows for the control of not only the water that can extinguish flames but also the fluids that fuel fire as well allowing for control of virtually any liquid known to exist.
Mist, Kirton (Water + Fire): This element comes from the ability to use water then fire chakra the heat water so that it evaporates into the air beyond the dew point of the air around the user to create mist that blinds and confuses the enemy.
Ice, Hyoton (Water + Wind): Water then Wind Shakra together produce the secret element of Ice… frozen water that can be molded shaped and used in combat… Haku, Zabuza’s right hand companion used his bloodline ability to form his patented “Crystal Ice Mirrors”
Acid, Saton(Water + Lightning): Water then Lightning chakra utilizes the chemical properties of inert and dissolved chemicals in water to create Acidic and Basic chemicals… using them can be a potent and deadly art… In the show Tsunade’s most powerful summon Katsuyu can use this element proficiently.
Diamond, Naton (Water + Earth): Water then Earth chakra mastery allows one to form and use crystalline minerals such as diamonds and use them in battle… basic forms can use sharp projectile minerals and protective armors.
Jutsu Tickets
When learning jutsu in Shinobi's Blood, there is a special Jutsu Ticket system. Everytime you complete a mission, you're given a ticket that matches the mission's rank. With this ticket, you can learn a new jutsu of that rank and become more powerful! The tickets will either be given to you by your sensei, client, or Kage.
But you're not necessarily bound to the ticket you have. Here's something little known.
D-Rank ticket
With this kind of ticket, you're pretty much stuck where you are. You have to learn a D-rank jutsu. However, some of these jutsu are fundamental skills that not all shinobi know. Don't underestimate them.
C-Rank ticket
These are the jutsu most Genin will know. C-Rank tickets can either get you a C-rank jutsu OR 2 D-rank jutsu. See where this is going?
B-Rank ticket
It is really only Chunin and above who will know more than 1 B-rank jutsu. With a B-rank ticket, you can learn either a B-rank jutsu OR two C-rank jutsu.
A-Rank ticket
These are the really powerful jutsu. A-rank tickets will be given to mainly Chunin and Jonin. These let you learn either one A-rank or two B-rank.
S-Rank ticket
These bad boys are really rare, really valuable. However, they don't work the way normal tickets work. You can NOT learn S-rank jutsu from the jutsu library. Those are too rare to find. S-rank tickets are for learning either 2 A-Rank jutsu, 4 B-rank jutsu, 8 C-rank jutsu, or 16 D-rank jutsu!
If you want to learn an S-rank jutsu, you must find someone who knows it and learn it from them. S-rank tickets, however, are really helpful simply because of the high number of jutsu you can learn.
All About Jutsu
Info
Jutsu are techniques that ninja use in and out of battle. There are 3 basic types of jutsu. There are also subcategories as well, which should be under the "other" section of your jutsu lists. These include kenjutsu, senjutsu, and fuinjutsu.
Ninjutsu
The most common type of jutsu, Ninja techniques involve using chakra and doing things that would otherwise be impossible. Unlike genjutsu, the effects are real.
Genjutsu
These are illusionary techniques, and are used to attack the victim's mind, not body. These can be just as devastating, however. A genjutsu can make somebody feel pain even if they aren't.
Taijutsu
Much easier and quicker than nin and genjutsu, taijutsu does not require hand signs or chakra, although they can be used. Basically, it is hand to hand combat, or with weapons.
Bloodline Ability
These are certain abilities that someone can not learn, and are only born with. They may not require hand signs, but can be used to create original jutsu. They are exclusive to descendants from a certain clan.
Note:Included in Bloodline abilities are the combination of elements into different types of new elements. If you'd like a list of in depth bloodline ability combinations, try this web site;
http://nxu.prophpbb.com/topic19.html
DOUBLE Note:
As for bloodline's here's the rule. If you know of any Naruto bloodline from the show, great. You can have it WITHIN REASON
EX: No Mangekyou Sharingan as a kid.
OTHER THAN THAT, all bloodlines must be Jutsu Combinations. Such as Earth and Fire to create Lava.
IF you start off knowing element combination jutsu, then you can ONLY know element combination jutsu, until you're a Chunin and Jonin. Then you can only know the elements that make up your bloodline.
If you have any questions, please PM ME. Gracias.
Rank
The higher a jutsu is ranked, the more chakra it takes up and the more difficult it is to learn. However, more skilled ninja can pull of many high ranked jutsu easily. It all depends on the rank of the person, and the rank of the jutsu.
To learn jutsu, you have to train by posting, which can happen in any of the many training areas, or in a classroom. Each jutsu has a word count you have to reach or exceed to learn.
As for elements, each person can only learn a jutsu of their element, or a jutsu that has no element.
E-rank - Learned by Academy Students. Are the basic and most fundamental jutsu for all ninja. Easily learn able.
Word Count: 100 words
D-rank - Genin level techniques. Also easily learnable
Word Count: 250 words
C-rank - Chūnin level techniques, but easily learnable by Genin of this new generation. Basically, Genin can learn these techniques.
Word Count: 500 words
B-rank - Jōnin level techniques. Require high levels of chakra to use. Can be learned by committed, skilled Genin.
Word Count: 1000 words
A-rank - Kage or Jōnin level techniques. Require great control over one's chakra and may be forbidden. A prodigious Genin can learn these techniques.
Word Count: 1500 words
S-rank - Secret, extreme level techniques. Are typically unique to a single user. Only Kage and Jonin can learn these techniques.
Word Count: 2000 words
Ninja Rank
Academy Student
Everyone starts out as an Academy Student, unless otherwise noted by a Crew Member. As an Academy Student, you already know 5 C-Rank or lower Jutsu.
Rank: E, D, and C-Rank only.
Amount Limit: 5
Elements: 1
Genin
To become a Genin, you simply need to pass the entrance exam at the academy, to receive your choice of headband. Once you become a Genin, you can learn 5 jutsu right away without training for them.
Rank: E, D, and C rank jutsu. One B-rank can be earned per 3 mission done. One A-rank can per 8 missions done.
Amount Limit: 20 jutsu. Must know 15 to be considered for the Chuunin exams.
Elements: 1
Chunin
To become a Chunin, you must pass the rigorous Chunin exams, which are legendarily tough! Once you do, you will receive a Chunin vest, and can learn 5 new jutsu without training for them. This also qualifies you to be a teacher at the Ninja Academy.
Rank: E, D, C and B rank jutsu. One A-rank can be earned per 3 mission done.
Amount Limit: 35 jutsu. Must know 25 to be considered for the Jonin exams.
Elements: 2
Special Jonin
During the Chunin exams, sometimes an exceptional ninja will be recognized as possessing a Jonin level ability in one particular area, such as Taijutsu or Medical knowledge. These nin will be promoted to Special Jonin, who, after 10 missions, can become a full fledged Jonin. This is rare, however. Once you reach special Jonin status, you can learn 5 B-rank or lower jutsu without training for them, and 2 A-rank jutsu as well.
Rank: E, D, C, B, and A rank jutsu. One A-rank can be earned per mission done.
Amount Limit: 45 jutsu. Becomes Jonin through missions.
Elements: 2 (And an elemental combo, such as fire and earth to have lava!)
Jonin
To become a Jonin, one must undergo the mysterious and deadly Jonin Exam. Little is known about the exam, other than that it is so difficult it has driven many ninja insane! The cream of the crop, Jonin are the highest level of ninja. ANBU consists of all Jonin ninja. Being at this level qualifies someone to be a squad leader and sensei. Once you become a Jonin, you can learn 5 jutsu without training for them of any rank but S.
Rank: All Ranked Jutsu
Amount Limit: No Limit. Must have at least 40 to be considered for a Kage position.
Elements: 3 (And an elemental combo!)
Kage/S-Rank
To become a Kage, one has to display skill in every ninja art and also be voted in by a village council after the death or incapacitation of a current Kage. Once you become Kage, you can learn 7 jutsu without training for them, and of any rank as well.
Become S-ranked is different, however. An S-ranked ninja is equal in power to the Kages, and definitely someone you want on your side. To become S-ranked, you must display skill in every ninja art, and do something that would give you "Legendary Status". You must complete at least 2 S-ranked missions.
Rank: All Ranked Jutsu
Amount Limit: No Limit.
Elements: 3 (And 2 elemental combos!)
Training Boosts
For some people, training can be extra difficult, especially if you aren't used to writing very much at one time. Well, you don't have to! Training boosts allow you to lessen the word count by different amounts, thus making your training easier. Rank and the type of jutsu being learned are irrelevant. A Chunin can train with a Genin, and both will benefit. The Genin will benefit more, unless the Chunin trains with multiple Genin, which is very possible.
Ninja
Training with Genin lessens the word countby 100. It may not seem like much, but if 2 Genin train together, 200 words are struck off the list. Training with Genin isn't very profitable for high levels, unless you train with multiple Genin at once. Then, 100 words are deducted per Genin, thus benefiting everyone.
Training with Chunin lessens the word count by 200 words. If 3 Chunin train together, then each Chunin would have 400 words less on their word count. A Chunin can also train with multiple Genin. Anyone can
Training with Jonin lowers the word count by 300, allowing for greater reductions. If a Jonin trains 3 students at once, each receives a 300 word reduction, because a Jonin is helping. The Jonin also receives a 300 word reduction on a jutsu he's training at the same time for, thus benefiting everyone equally.
Training with Kages is super rare, but they lower the word count by 400. If multiple Kage train together, they can learn extremely powerful jutsu very easily.
Animals
Training with summoning animals is also a great way to lower the jutsu word count. Similar to ninja, training with an S-ranked summon would lower the word count by 400
Training with an A-rank, by 300
Training with a B-rank, by 200
Training with a C-rank, by 100
You are allowed to use your own summon to train, but there is a limit to only one summon. However, you can train with multiple summons if they aren't yours. Training with multiple summons and the summoner is an excellent way to reduce the word count significantly.
Samurai
If you are lucky enough to meet a samurai or know a ninja who knows some samurai techniques, congratulations! All samurai are treated as one level higher than they really are when it comes to training boosts. For example, training with a Genin samurai would be the same as training with a normal Chuunin. The samurai however must be wearing their armor. They also get a boost equal to one rank higher than the rank of the person they're training with
Training with a samurai Genin = 200 words
Training with a samurai Chunin = 300 words
Traning with a samurai Jonin = 400 words
Traning with The Leader of the Samurai = 500 words
Imperfect Jutsu and the Heat of Battle.
When it comes to the really difficult Jutsu, sometimes we have to take a break from learning them to do something else, and we leave with the jutsu unfinished. What happens to the jutsu then? Why, you leave with the IMPERFECT jutsu.
Say you're in the middle of learning the Rasengan. But you have a mission to go to, so you leave your training early. While on the mission, you decide to use your imperfect jutsu in the heat of battle! This is completely okay and comes with an added benefit; 100 words knocked off for each time you use the jutsu in battle. Once you've used it enough times, you master it.
Here's the catch. You must be in a serious fight to use your imperfect jutsu. No using just while you're walking around, or during sparring matches. Nono!
Also, whenever you use it, you must put the word imperfect in front of it. For example: Eric attacked the guard with an imperfect Rasengan.
And the benefit comes after you use the jutsu. For example, if Eric only had 100 words left to go and used the imperfect Rasengan, the attack would be imperfect. But, from then on, he would have the mastered version.
Finally, this only applies to jutsu B-Rank and above, as they are harder to learn. Use these tools correctly, and you can learn jutsu in a snap!
You may use the training boosts to your advantage, but there are some things you just plain aren't allowed to do. Like . . .
Using so many boosts at once that the entire jutsu is wiped out! If you have that many training boosts, just keep subtracting them until you've got words to type!
Using your own characters to help each other. For example, if you have a Kage or Jonin character, you can't use them to help your Genin character.
More will be added later.
Mission System
Because the Academy is an alliance academy, each village will have its own mission requests. Integrated teams doing missions for many different villages helps keep village relations good and connected.
How to receive missions
If you are a Genin, your Jonin sensei will have to come and request missions for your squad. To request a mission higher than a C-rank, your Jonin leader will have to prove that your squad is capable enough.
If however, you are at the level of Chunin or above, you can request solo missions or team missions easy.
No matter what rank you are, you can always request to go on a training mission. If you are a Genin, however, you must be accompanied by a Jonin, who does not necessarily have to be your Sensei.
The number of missions done per person will be on a roster kept in this thread. Doing each mission earns you the ability to learn higher ranked jutsu, so to get stronger, go out and do more!
Mission Non-player characters will be played by either the Sensei, or a Guild Mod.
Once your mission request has been accepted, a Mission Thread will be made and you can begin the mission.
Battle Rules
As soon as a fight begins, posting will go in turn. Posting twice in a row is only allowed during training.
Make sure we can understand what you're doing. Explain your posts, and don't make them too complicated.
A Genin can not beat a Jonin one on one. That's not reasonable.
However,
A Chunin can fight a Jonin one on one. A Genin can fight a Chunin one on one. And so on. Not necessarily win, but you can at least hold your opponent off.
If you encounter a problem or get into an argument, take it to a crew or vice captain/captain. Their word is law.
