One of the only normal(ish) looking classrooms of the building, the moment you step into Illusionary Artes, your nose is bombarded with the smell of Deadly Nightshade and BlackWidow Roses. We take that back, it's not really 'normal' at all. If anything, the classroom looks more like a bad vampire-esque brothel than a place of learning, what with velvet drapes and large oversized throw pillows strewn about in the corners here and there. At the front of the classroom where a desk SHOULD be is a little throne-like chair, done in ebony wood, with a veiled canopy semi-circling it.
To be honest, it looks like you're in an emo-rock music video. There are no desks to speak of in the room, just lots of plush couches lining the walls, with rosebushes and nightshade growing in and out of the cracks between. The only traditional sitting area is a large pile of pillows and throws in the middle of the room, as if inviting students to lounge instead of learn.
All in all you have no idea what you're in for, but might as well hop on for the ride. If nothing else this looks like an Easy A classroom, right?

Class runs about a week (give or take a few days, depending on the subject/activity) and are generally medium sized. This is because each person's abilities differ from species to species, and race to race. A demon cannot conjure illusions in the same way a Reaper can, and so Phairren spends individual time with all of his students. When one student is being worked with, the rest of the class is acting as their 'practice dummies'. MEANING:: Your classmates are guinea pigs.
The first class of any one session will always be a group class, as opposed to an individual. Occasionally following lessons will be similar.

Name:: Phairren Nicknames:: Sir, Phair, Sex Machine (no students are allowed to call him this to his face, but feel free when making snide remarks to other students when he can't hear you) Age:: 307, but he likes to tell people he's only 250 (in reg. years, equate this to being around pushing 30, so around 27-29, and trying to pass for a solid 20) Class:: Demon -Succubus Personality:: For a succubus, Phairren's pretty serious. For a teacher, he's pretty lazy. One of the most laid-back teachers on the current staff, he has the patience of a saint. Just don't tell him that, or he might take offense. He tries to be accomodating for his students, but he'll start to wear thin and get annoyed if you fawn over him, or act a little TOO much like a teachers pet. Even though he's non-traditional as a teacher, he's really suspicious of teacher's pets. Though he can be bribed with small cute things, and loves getting flowers. Natural Ability:: Phereomones that can make you besotted with him, wether he wants you to or not. In males the effect is slightly weaker, but he's still a pretty popular teacher because of it. It's why his classroom is full of fragrant flowers, to cover up his own sweet smell so his students aren't affected in his classroom. FEAR:: You'll find out sooner or later.

Assignments will be given weekly, and are to be handed in by the next class (there will be a two-day grace peiod inbetween classes). Students will receive points based on these assignements, and will be able to trade these points in for extras as the class continues.
IN-CLASS WORK::
This is what will be rp'd in this thread. Introductions to a topic/working with the class will also be the majority content in here.
PLEASE KEEP POSTING OR NOTIFY ME WHEN YOU ARE NOT GOING TO BE ABLE TO POST. Because of the nature of hte subject/how it needs to be individually taught/practiced we need everyone to post regularly. IF YOU MISS A CLASS BECAUSE OF THIS, please request a tutoring RP with Phairren via pm. Or you will not get your clickable/the ability to use whatever topic we are going over in battle.

Running Tally::
ENROLLMENT:: Oct. 25-30th Make an introductory post, and feel free to mingle with your fellow students. Phairren's sort of sprawled out over his chair (don't judge his love of sitting in his thrown sideways, it's good for his back to lay over the edge like that!) just waiting for everyone to arrive. If you REALLY need his attention though, bold a phrase using his name so he can attend to you. He's actually very accomodating, so if you'd like to speak to him/introduce yourself personally along with mingling with your fellow students, feel free.
Class 1:: It's finally time for class to start! This is a partially introductory class, but you WILL be required to rp during this class. Also, class's clickable will not be available until the end of classes/rp due to the very personalized nature of it.
Class 2::
Class 3::
Class 4::
Class 5::

 A nonassuming little hidden closet. It's made of the same dark wood as Phairren's personal lounging chair, and is in the corner of the front wall of the classroom (meaning the wall directly behind him, facing the class). It's framed with Deadly Nightshade and Widow Roses. You wouldn't notice it normally, since the wall is painted the same black, but a little corroded silver lock and handle shaped like an imp helps it stand out from the rest of the wall.
OOC::This is where you'll find a rundown of class clickables. There are five total. Four premades, and one semi-personal. Additional clickables (like rare variants) may be on display here/available for purchase with student points/good grades.

Raziel peered into the room before actively walking in, he wasn't sure exactly what to make of the classroom. It almost looked like a girl's room, being that it was covered in flowers. He idly glanced around the room, noticing the strangely flexible teacher in his 'chair'- if it could even be called that- and the odd assortment of seating. For a split moment, Raziel calculated his options between the pile of pillows on the floor and one of the plush couches around the edges of the room. Raziel finally chose a slightly less gaudy couch positioned dead center in the middle of the east wall, directly under a rosebush growing in the crack between the ceiling and the wall. He clasped his hands together and waited patiently, glaring at the door, for the other students to trickle in.

Sin waltzed into the classroom with the same graceful air of confidence she always tried to portray. She relaxed when she saw the couches and inhaled the sweet fragrance of the room. Ahh this was much more soothing and familiar to her then the layout of the other classrooms. Still she had no doubt this class would be a challenge, Sin did not have the type of firm grasp on magic that most Reapers had. Still as a demon magic was in her blood and with a lot of hard work she was sure she might be able to grasp the basics. She had signed up for all the magical classes in the hopes of tapping into the potential.
She walked over and draped herself on a couch like a languid feline looking for all the world like she was about to nap. Instead however her eyes narrowed a bit and scanned the room in silent observation. She gave Raziel a little nod of a greeting before waiting patiently for more students and the professor.

Lizzy walked into the room, her outfit of the day matching the dark design of the room to a certain degree. In fact, upon stepping into the classroom, the Spider Demon froze - and then proceeded to slip into some kind of a trance, her features locked in an expression that looked like fascination mixed with delight. This was the best classroom she had seen so far, aesthetics-wise... The professor must be quite the fashionable person! Her eyes darted to the front of the room, at the figure on the chair - she grinned as she slightly thought to herself; he is! Her impression of the class was skyrocketing, and this was before it officially starts!
Now that she was (partially) done with admiring the room, the Spider Demon smiled at the only other 2 students currently present in the class as a polite greeting of sorts - a Monster she could not remember the name of, and the beautiful Demon she remembered as 'Sin'.
Her heart sped up in excitement as she made her way to one of the plush couches near the middle of the room, glad that she had always made it a point to wear safety pants under her skirt. Flopping down on it, she giggled at how comfortable they were before staring at the flowers growing at the side; poisonous, if she had identified them correctly, but beautiful to behold... Her mother would say they were like Black Widows.

Oh Mater Luna, that smell. That wickedly smelly smell. That pungent, obnoxiously woody, ridiculously delicious...
Davi was too far gone to even realize that she was walking down the hallway on all fours, tail wagging delightedly. The girl's nose lifted and quivered. That scent! It was rough and strong and rugged and made her want to roll around and kick her paws in the air, or something equally stupid. And it was so familiar, but she just couldn't place it! Whatever it was, it was drawing the loup-garou through the halls like dognip.
Did dognip exist? She wasn't sure. It was a little hard to think. Why was that? Oh, yeah. Yummy smell. Really yummy smell. Scrum-diddly-umptious smell, going this way, must follow.
The fact that the room she entered was darker than the hall didn't register with Davinica. She was walking past cushions, skirting the edge of the room, and it didn't matter in the least because ohgod smell was even stronger here. When at last the jean-clad monster reached the source of the scent that was torturing her so good, she was beside herself. One hand was braced to the side of Phairren's wall, nails lengthening a little and involuntarily scraping into the door under her other hand. Her tail dusted the floor as she crossed her legs snugly. Her nose twitched just inches from a bloom of Deadly Nightshade. Smell! Disastrous scented smell, mmm... If she had the right equipment to purr, she would have. Instead, grinning like an idiot would have to do. Her smell~~
...Except, oh wait. This was a classroom. With people in it. That could see her, right now.
A string of curses sorted themselves out under Davi's breath and she pulled away from the still so yummy plant and slunk over to one of the darker couches. She was feeling appropriately morose - Great Jack, embarrassment! - before realizing that the couch, also, had the scent of yummy on it! She kicked herself back into the cushions...but not before taking a very merry whiff.

Alcyone knew that she had almost missed the enrollment for this class and thank god she was reminded by Daisuke when she had told him about her classes. Rushing into the room, Alcyone looked around curiously wondering what that strange smell was. It was... interesting and she couldn't quite place her finger on what it was. The decor was nice and Alcyone approved of it even though it seemed like she stuck out like a sore thumb.
The water demon glanced the other students inside and she smiled slightly as she attempted to make eye contact with them. She recognized some of the demons from other classes and she also recognized Lizzy who she had met inside the demon dorms once.
Approaching the familiar face, Alcyone wasn't sure what to expect from this class. It was something that sounded very useful and could help her avoid getting caught when she was causing mischief. "Hello Lizzy." Waving, Alcyone sat down on couch right next to the other demon.

Arachne had been of two minds about enrolling in the Illusions class, mainly as she wasn't sure if her seer abilities would be classed as good enough by the Professor. Obviously she thought they should be, and she knew that signing up for this class especially would get her Grandmother off her back for a good while.
Entering the classroom (almost too late she thought), she was taken aback by her surroundings. It wasn't the most packed of classes, with a small attendance it seemed but that wasn't what was surprising. The decor was...strange, very opulent, almost as if she'd taken a wrong turn and wound up in somebody's bedroom. The air was heavily perfumed on top of that, and she wondered how she would think with the scent clogging up her senses.
At the sight of one person she definately knew, and then one she knew in passing but wanted to make a greater acquintance of, she moved over to where the others were seated..lounging and lowered herself down, pushing back her hood and giving small nods to those she had spoken with and seen before.

Israfel knew only one illusion he was supposed to master. And that was to look...human. Face scrunched up at the thought, he still figured it was a skill he should master. Even if the room stank of flowers and it was almost sickening. A siren had to do what a siren had to do, and right now, that was buck up, and talk a class. He'd be damned if he didn't. A quick flap of his wings got him ontop of a pile of pillows which quickly sank from under him. The end result was he sat on a single pillow, while the rest had fallen around him in a circle.
Never mind. He could deal with the smell of the room. He had a fluffy pillow nest.

The bell rang, and the figure sprawled out on the throne of a chair in the front of the room scowled at the ceiling, making a very unhappy 'grunt' sound at the offensive sound. But the moment the annoying ringing stopped, he launched himself up, swung his legs over the proper way in his seat and stood up all in one fluid movement.
As he did so, a male demon with crow's wings walked in nonchalantly, earning a reproachful but not quite put out look from the professor as he sat down on a lounge, nodding to a demoness that had flopped down happily on the middle pillows before. Phairren was glad some of his students recognized eachother at least.
With a sigh, he rolled his eyes skyward and asked Jack for his blessings and eternal patience. Time to jump into the fray.
"Illusions........an art unto itself, and not just figuratively speaking. If you do not have the patience, the flair, or physical stamina to live and breathe creative fear, I would suggest you walk right back out this door," he introduced, his voice light and silky, an androgynous yet appealing sound as he walked to the door and leaned on it. If nothing else, he seemed to not like expending much energy. Looking around the room for the wavering of faces or wills, he raised a manicured eyebrow seeing no visual apprehension. With that, he started pacing the front of the room, his boots 'clik-clacking' softly as he walked, and his tail swing back and forth like a bored cat.
"What makes a superb illusionist? Some say it is the spells he or she uses to implement the illusion, some the level of control and the reality one can create within the craft, and some swear its the rarity of a true master of the art that makes one truly great. I am here to tell you that all of that is completely and utterly wrong." he stated informatively, stopping at the end of his short spiel and clicking his heels together sharply, staring the class headon.
"What makes someone GREAT is their ability to understand the psyche and emotional drives of their opponent. To TWIST those drives and weaknesses, exaggerating them to a point of madness. Whether you use a spell, or your natural abilities, or simply your raw FEAR, none of that will matter if you can't be FLEXIBLE in your illusions. You must always remember to cater each illusion with gentle care.
What form your illusion takes though, that's what will make this class most rigorous. I want to know from you. What EXACTLY do you think you will be learning here, or what form your illusion will take. Do you want a steady illusion, a weapon that requires no preparation or physical skill but is solid enough to torture your opponent..........or would you prefer a terrifying array of personal nightmares to assault the senses of your victim? Perhaps a personal glamour, or simply the ability to change one's PERCEPTION of the world around them, as opposed to hallucinations. This is the first step in identifying your 'catalyst'." he explained, looking expectantly to his students to pipe up. With a small frown, he clasped his hands behind his back when he got no response.
"Your catalyst will be the thing that DRIVES your illusion. For me, it's a natural ability my species has, combined with years of training and an ironclad sense of concentration. But to control something so personal on your body is beyond the reach of you beginners. You need something physically grounded in this world. A spritual channel from which the power of your mind and spells can affect the world around you. SO. This isn't a one sided lecture, or both you and I will get very bored very quickly and I will simply fail you all for lack of anything better to do. It doesn't matter what order you speak up in, as long as you speak up. Now, I'll ask you again.
What form will your illusions take? Note any special abilities that are personal to YOU, as well, so we can grasp an idea of your catalyst. It would behoove you all to take notes on each other, as your classmates will be the ones you'll be defending yourselves against as you practice." he demanded, leaving the floor open for his students to take the reigns of their own education. He wasn't going to spoon-feed them after all, it was all a trial-and-error process really, which meant if he had to FORCE them to try, he would.
[ OOC:: In a response, define the types of illusions that will pertain to your student PERSONALLY. Their goals, and anything that applies DIRECTLY to whatever magic they want to harness. Also, feel free to react any way you see appropriate, you can even ask Phairren personal questions since he is obviously asking personal questions of YOU. Treat the class like a very open-ended liberal arts class. It's very hands-on and equal participation. Once everyone has responded, you'll be given your assignment/catalyst. ]

Israfel smiled at Braum. He only knew the boy in passing but, didn't think much else of him. They hadn't spoken to each other much. Maybe that would change. Still, a small sneeze later, Israfel was listening to the teacher. Wings drooped a bit. What did he need to focus on? Well, looking human for one. The other..."Birds. I need to look like a bird when I'm trying to hide. And I need to be able to make it took like I'm harmless..." He paused, unsure. "Any maybe sharpen my talons. They tend to be pretty dull." His feet wiggled in the boots.
Wiggling into the pillows Israfel sighed. Pulling the rose from his hair he spun it a few times. "I wonder if this could be a catalyst...thingy."
