I'm stuck.
There are two items I want to invest in atm: Secret Sparkles and Secret Purple Butterflies. Thing is, they're both from the same item group: sponsor items. And that's not the only problem—their prices are so close together that I can't pick one from the other.
Now I think it's a waste to invest in both of these because... well, I want the best return for my gold, and one of these is probably going to outperform the other. Here's where I want help: I want a list of pros and cons of both of these so I can make a decision on which to choose.
It's obvious what I'm looking for, right? So here's the catch: if you state a point for one item, you have to state a point against the other one; I want your opinion on not just which item you think is the best, but why you think the other item is worse too. =D
The best three advisors imo win 10k each. ^__^

I'd suggest the Secret Sparkles.
Not only do they resemble the Golden Sparkles (which are quite popular), the Secret Sparkles have three different colors. The yellow and blue sparkles seem like they would be popular during the holiday season.
Butterflies: I think females would be more interested in this item than males. Not being sexist; how many guys have you seen wearing the item? While the sparkles are more diverse.

Totally just doing this for fun. Don't want gold. xd
The sparkles have different color options.//The butterflies only have one option.
The sparkles will generally work well for both genders. //Butterflies tend to be much more feminine.
Sparkles, in general, have a relatively wide range of uses. //Butterflies are, well, butterflies.
The layering options on the sparkles are fairly nice. //The butterflies are somewhat bulky, and will likely be less appealing to those who are looking for more subtle avatars.
The blue and the gold sparkles will likely draw people who are looking to make "angelic" avatars with many of the high end items that fit under that description. // The purple on the butterfly is just....purple. Some people use it, but more people are willing to show off the more expensive items, and try to match them.
@Spiral: Stop stealing my ideas before I have them!!!!! xd

I don't want the gold, I just feel like giving my view smile .
Sparkles, no question.
Both the sparkles and the purple butterflies should do reasonably well but the sparkles should perform better in the long run.
The sparkles are less gender-specific. Most guys aren't into butterflies.
The sparkles pair with a wide range of avis, from vampires (ick, sparkly-skinned leeches, but I digress) to fairies to avis that have gotten into the highlighting powder at Sephora. The butterflies can't be anything other than butterflies.
The butterflies are purple, which is popular...but the sparkles are purple AND gold AND blue.
From my observation: people quest sparklies. They don't quest butterflies.
The one thing the butterflies have over the sparkles: this thread is going to make them a lot more attractive as an investment as people go running after the sparkles smile . They may go low enough so even though they won't hit the heights of the sparkles, the return on investment will be a nicer looking percentage.
I don't think the butterflies are a bad investment at all, but long term, it's the sparkles.

the sparkles has more colors, which will go for more avis, it has 3 poses as opposed to the butterfly's one
the butterflies are prettier than the sparkles
id say the butterflies would outperform the sparkles but dont listen to me im noob

I like the sparkles, but aren't they really common? You can get 3 for free.

Angelic Lil-Foxy I like the sparkles, but aren't they really common? You can get 3 for free. They're free, but only for a short amount of time. The Golden Sparkles were also free and they've done rather well. It's definitely a long-term investment, but the payout could be great if the item is popular enough.

Well as far as Sparkles or Butterflies, I would go with Sparkles for the reason the first two post said... As for Lunatic Lace Angelic Lil-Foxy I like the sparkles, but aren't they really common? You can get 3 for free. They're free, but only for a short amount of time. The Golden Sparkles were also free and they've done rather well. It's definitely a long-term investment, but the payout could be great if the item is popular enough.A good example of something you can get for free from a sponsor rising in price would be the Trendy Dark Skinny Jeans, its 140k now. At this point I wished I invested in it when I saw that it started to rise. So you can't say that an item won't rise just because its a sponsor item. I don't know if its just because of the economy now but these items are pretty expensive for sponsor items. They usually go for a lot cheaper. Which could show that they have potential.

I think both are great, but I'm going with the purple butterflies.
Butterfly Pros ~ While they are girlie, there are a lot of girlie users, & more to come in the future that would love to have them. + there is the Purple Butterfly Kimono thingy that matches. And you know how people love matching things. And not to mention because it's my favorite color.
Sparkles Cons ~ We already have a lot of sparkly things in many other items. Pixie, Golden Sparkles, & I remember something to do with a Robin Hood type item.

Good lord why would you actively invest in a sponsor item? That said, here's my list of pros + cons:
For Sparkles/Against Butterflies 1. Sparkles are unisex / Butterflies are viewed as feminine. 2. Sparkles have three colors / Butterflies are merely purple.
For Butterflies/Against Sparkles 1. Purple Butterflies pair well with previously released yellow ones (same sponsor) / Sparkles are redundant (a lot of similar items) 2. Butterflies are feminine (apparently more femi avis on Gaia than mascu / Did I say sparkles are redundant? Seriously. Although it has 3 color choices it's the same exact pattern/pose so you can't wear all 3 colors at once. 3. Butterflies are good for nature avis (Gaia is big on nature stuff, plenty of animals, backgrounds, leaves, etc.) / Sparkles are so Tinkerbell (avi scope seems more limited)
Based on my own powers of deduction (and if you simply must invest in a sponsor item vs something more appealing) I'd have to go with Butterflies. Besides, people will overhoard the sparkles assuming they'll be more popular.
