These two have been best friends since they were little. They'd always hung out and played games as children. Now, she's next in line for the throne, training to be a proper queen while he's her loyal guard. They're still close friends and they always help each other with their problems. On the night of her 16th birthday, she is announced to be married to the prince of the west. She agrees to it and is supposed to go on a journey to the kingdom to marry there. She invites the knight to accompany her on the journey and they're left alone. what will happen on his journey, will love blossom or will they only remain friends?

(alright. we can start.)
"Princess, Princess Spirit!" One of the maids called, looking through the garden for the young girl. The princess had just sudden run off, almost seeming to disappear in to thin air. The maid sighed, shaking her head, "Princess, please, your mother would like a word with you and playing side and seek right now is not in the interest to be keeping your mother waiting!" The maid said. Silver eyes looked down at the older woman as a small white hand moved some white bangs from the young girls' eyes, "Stella had better call the guards to come look for me because I am not coming out." The young girl said, sighing some. It was a few days before her 16th birthday and she didn't really want to bother with being part of the planning, she'd rather be out here.

Alex walked out into the garden, only to see Spirit and one of the maids talking. He walked up to the made and put his hand on her shoulder. "I'll take care of it." he said smiling as she walked away. He then turned his attention back to Spirit. "So, whats gotten into you today?" he asked as he crossed his arms a bit.

Spirit looked down at Alex, "I don't want to be part of the planning committee, it gets so boring." She said, crossing her own arms, her foot dangling lightly over the side of the branch.

Spirit sighed, "Yeah and you're lucky, you don't have to sit through all those boring lessons about how to be a 'proper queen'." She slumped back against the tree with a posture that would have made her teacher have a fit, but she really didn't care.

Alex sat next to her and wrapped his arm around her. "Spirit, I have known you for many years, and over these years, I have noticed one thing about you. You are not like other women. You like to be different, but you do have duties to attend to, and whether you like them or not, you have to do it. And think about it, you do it now, then you won't have to worry about it later." he said smiling at her.

Spirit looked up at her lifelong friend and smiled, "You know,you're right Alex, thanks." She said, kissing his cheek and getting up. The princess had to admit, she really missed those days when she and Alex could just come out here and play, like that had when they'd been little kids. She smiled again at her best friend, leaving his comfort and warmth and going inside.

Alex smiled at Spirit as she walked inside. "I sure do have a way with words." he said smiling and blushing a bit as he walked inside as well. He was considered her guard, sworn to protect her in anyway possible. He was always ready to give up his life for her.

Spirit went to talk with her mother. They talked about the plans for her 16th birthday party and the queen tried to persuade Spirit to wear a corset and tight blue dress, which she instantly refused.

"But Spirit, dear, that is what all the woman wear these days and corsets are not that bad." She said. Spirit shook her head, "No mother, I flatly refuse to wear one of those death traps. What do you want to happen? I could be in the middle of the dance and I'd fall over from lack of oxygen. I"m not wearing on." She crossed her arms to mean that was final.
