Audrey groaned a loud and frustrated sigh. The girl was sitting against the edge of an alleyway, fidgeting irritably as her back scraped unpleasantly along the brick each time she moved. It was her shoes that were providing such agitation, and she gnashed her teeth in annoyance as she futzed with the cloth that kept the soles tied close to her balls of her feet. The wrappings that kept the things together were beginning to wear thin once more, and each time this happened she had become rather unhappy with her choice of footwear. Audrey left her home adorned in boots some time ago, but it did not take long for her to discard them. They weighed her down far too much; how could a finger-man effectively make a break for it with boots making her feet drag? So, she was resourceful. All she needed was the soles, right? Times such as this, though, often made her begin to question her own efficacy.

After some time adjusting the cloth, tying tighter knots, attempting various methods of layering the stuff, the urchin pulled her fingers back from her handiwork. Raising an eyebrow, she extended her legs out to scrutinize her efforts, wiggling her toes against the autumn cold that hung in the afternoon air.

"It'll have to do for now," she thought to herself, hints of chagrin playing upon her tone.

The sun was drooping past the middle of the sky, and as the day grew later, her chances of filching would drop as well. There were only so many more hours before the 'business' of the day would be over and she would have to return to the shadowier recesses of the town to wait out the boring candle-marks of night time, her only company being the tail that currently lay limp, attached to her belt.

Considering this, the girl begrudgingly accepted the condition her shoes would have to remain in for the time being, and reached back to press her palms against the building behind her. Using the wall as support, she shoved herself upward, rocking onto her heels then forward completely to stand. Audrey then promptly patted herself down, dusting off any dirt that had gathered onto her pants while she sat, and tapped her heel and toe to the ground to ensure her shoes were properly secure.

" A'right then...," the girl whispered to herself, drawing back what motivation she had abandoned when she exited the main street as her eyes meandered about the citizens that were passing," Let's see who we've got stragglin' around 'ere."

The weather was slowly becoming chillier as the day passed – the height of the sun had stooped and longer shadows stretched between the buildings. A breath of autumnal wind ruffled the straggly half grey, half brown hairs tied in a loose knot atop Felicity’s head. She was still meandering round the marketplace with an aimless glaze in her eyes – there was an awful lot to take in; a culture shock of sorts, and the time away from Jin-Ho was only a still nagging tug at the very furthest corner of her mind. Claudia had not raised a complaint either as she was content to allow her guardian to explore the new territory now that they had left the company of the obnoxious stall keeper who had offered and had lunch with them.

She had bought the knitting needles that she had spied amongst other unusual and useful treasures – a new tinder box with a metal striker, (bound to last much longer than her flint when she returned to the cold climate of the north) a set of sewing needles to replace her practically blunt set at home worn with the use over many years, and finally a little leather bag to keep these new treasures in. Her frets about pickpockets from earlier had obviously been displaced over the course of the day. The people of Isimus were so friendly; first the offer of lunch and then every stall keeper had smiled so jovially as they ripped her off – unknown to her charging her double, sometimes triple, the amount they would have normally done for their wares. Thus with this false sense of security she had diverted from keeping her money in the sash around her waist (away from the possible grasp of grubby thief’s fingers) and instead it was jingling almost temptingly at the bottom of the bag.

Needless to say, Felicity was practically inviting someone to try his or her luck and steal her; A foolish little easy target.

However, the roaming eyes of the young urchin did not even have to consider stealing from the woman because upon spying the girl through dull sunken eyes a sensation of sorrow welled up in the Sherygoedian’s heart. Such a waif-like figure… Dirty faced. And her feet were exposed to the elements! Felicity’s mouth was slightly agape – the poor thing! She knew that the rose would chide her for such a sudden weakening of emotions but she simply could not help herself. Children in need would always touch her heart. Perhaps it was because she pined for a babe of her own to care for but knew that a touch of charity was the best she could muster… Either way she had shown kindness to street strays in the past – Chauhn – and she was keen to do so again.

E-e-xcuse m-me?” She approached the girl from the side, clasping her new bag tightly between her pale sinewy hands. “C-can I help you… Y-you look s-so young.. p-please…” she fumbled with the drawstring of the bag, searching for her purse so that she could thrust a penny or two at the girl, “tak-ke this?

On her shoulder there was a sharp intake of breath, whistling through a thin unpleasant grimace. As the woman had expected the plague did not approve of this unwanted kindness – it was most unlike how an Obscuvian should act… But it was too late now and she held her tongue for the meantime – just making do with glaring at the filthy street child hoping this charitable ordeal would be over as soon as possible.

The girl had noticed as the figure wandered toward her, catching the movement growing closer in the corner of her eye, and immediately prepared herself for whatever interaction the woman would offer. The orphan's stance was not welcoming, but tense and defensive, one hand hovering possessively over the tail at her side as the other clenched tight with anticipation. Her body was pivoted at an angle as if to create an invisible wall between the two. Audrey was not approached often, and when she was, she was quick to assume the worst.

This is why the girl furrowed her eyebrows, an expression of confusion spilling across her face, as the Shyregoedian stuttered out her words and attempted to shove coins toward the child. Jade orbs zig-zaged between the money in the woman's extended palm and up to her tired face, uncertainty still consuming the urchin's thoughts. The ms. seemed so... flimsy, as if a breeze much stronger than the one that tugged gently at her messy hair could easily cause her to stumble or to topple over; a fragile, shaky thing that slipped out of the woodwork to present her with currency... that, not to mention, she kept so carelessly within such an exposed pouch! Audrey could not help but find the character, along with the whole scenario, perplexing and unexpected.

Then, after some time scrutinizing the situation, the Auvinian suddenly gained a very stern countenance, straightening her spine, muscles still riddled with tension. She lifted her chin, looking Felicity dead in the face with eyes drowned in hubris. She would do what she had done upon other rare encounters such as this.

"I don't need your pity, lady," she retorted bitterly, refusing to take the pennies from the stranger's palm.

The opportunity for easy money was surely one most other street children would take with teary-eyes and grateful smiles, but charity was never something Audrey would willingly accept. Pockets sparse of shillings were a much lesser punishment than the sharp and stinging pain that would pierce and twist at her swollen pride.

Felicity could not comprehend the look of hostility that the girl was giving her... Surely the poor little creature would want to snatch up her charitable offering? The northerner knew that it wasn't much, yet it should be an ample amount to buy a meagre meal for a small and hungry mouth. The phrase went that beggars couldn't be choosers but perhaps if she added to her initial show of goodwill the cross looking waife would be more inclined to take the pennies. "B-but you sh-shoes..!" She fumbled with the coins and considered adding another two metallic pieces. Atleast then the child might be able to scrounge together enough for a new set of footwear. Admittedly the weather in this region was much milder than the frightful blizzarding conditions that were constant up north but she imagine that with the changing of season s the n** of cold would be quite painfully felt upon those exposed little digits.

"I d-don't mind... I-d like t-to help." She forced a shaky smile upon her face and barely some of her small ivory teeth in the process. How best to seem trustworthy and honest? Perhaps the reason that the girl was so hostile towards the idea of help was due to a lack of friendliness towards strangers... Felicity knew all too well the damgers that opposed street children... She had afterall been a deadly influence in one two person street family already; the memory made her shudder inwardly. "I d-don't want-t to hurt you..." She took a step back and maintained her smile; though it was starting to become more of a grimace as her mouth, so unused to happy emotions, struggled to keep up the display.

The flower meanwhile was not so desperate to keep up a facade of charitability and waarmth. Her expression was a scowl and her fingers were claws as they hooked into the material garbing the human's shoulder. She wished her foolish Grimm would remain aloof like her - associating with every dirty bypasser simply wasn't right! How on earth was the plague meant to maintain an aura of intimidation if Felicity expected her to be dragged into a situation like this? Aggravated she flicked a leg over to cross it and adressed the urchin with bitterness laced in her voice; "Child. Either take the money or go away and leave us be. I can't stand your filthy presence much longer even if this fool can."

"I don't want your money," Audrey reannounced; the young girl's voice attempting to display some authority.

Now, these defensive words were not entirely the truth, and as the girl kept resolute in her stance she understood this. The orphan wanted the woman's money, that was for sure; and though positively hopeless looking, the stranger was right -- Audrey's shoes were a mess, and her pockets were light. Even with this in mind, though, she could not take the pennies within the northerner's hand.

Meanwhile, as the child continued to stare tenaciously up at the woman, she could not help but continue to scrutinize her. The lady was brittle and naive. Each movement diminished Audrey's estimation of the stranger's strength. Each awkward display of friendliness heightened her aura of harmlessness. By the time that Felicity had shakily assured the girl that she meant no harm, the urchin had already deciphered so much for herself. 'I don't want to hurt you'. Audrey could have almost laughed, but bit her tongue as she continued to stare up at the frail woman's pleading smile. The stranger did not look as if she could effectively swat away a mosquito, let alone harm a child accustomed to the harsh streets. Stiffing a chuckle, she held her position firm, attempting to keep an intimidating, independent air about her. The more the foreigner spoke, the more obvious of a good target she became, growing less and less threatening and more and more feeble in her eyes with each stutter. Thus, as she stood firm before the potential prey she hatched a wonderful idea. Audrey wanted the woman's money; she knew she needed it, but could not simply take it from her pale fingers. That did not mean she did not want, or could not take, what coin still lay within her purse, tantalizingly exposed and free for her to snatch upon an opportune moment! When the time was right, she would lunge, rip it from her hands, and run.

The gears turning the the girl's brain then came to an unexpected halt as she flinched in surprise at the sudden voice that jumped into their conversation. There was a snapping of her head, eyes jumping about the area to search out the possible source of the voice, but she ultimately found that it was coming from the very same direction as where the woman stood. It was then that she realized it, blinking with uncertainty at the figure perched atop the stranger's shoulder. Audrey had thought it was just any other adornment, a pretty rose that a young lady such as the one before her would happily adorn to compliment themselves. What had originally simply been passed off as an object of vanity suddenly took on a very strange new form as it spat distaste towards the unsuspecting pickpocket. The flower was a living thing,a plague, an Excito; those things she had heard rumors and tales of, but until now had never encountered. Was this the type of creature her tail would grow into?

The Southerner stepped back, mouth agape in thought, her hand now clasped tight to the fur that was now twitching and swaying at her side, rather than hovering above it at a protective distance. It took her a moment to consume the lines that the tiny thing tossed at her, but after the flower's insult had dug it's way into her brain she was able to quickly shake off the shock to replace it with offended frustration.

"You're the one who approached me, weren't you," She snapped back, cheeks growing flustered as the girl struggled to maintain a cool composure,
" Y'know what? Y' Can't stand my damn filthy presence any longer? Fine!"

It was then that the urchin surged forward, lashing a hand out to grasp the Keeper's purse firm in her grip before tearing the thing away from her hold. Her eyes then darted to rest upon Felicity's shoulder for that split second, offering the Plauge that rested there a challenging grin,
"Then I'll be takin' your money and gettin' out of your way!"

And with that the girl fell back, pivoting on her heels to twist around as fast as she could and began bolting down the alleyway, her prize in hand.

For such a small character in size and stance within the world, the street girl certainly could summon a powerful edge to her voice. At the very least he reaffirmation of not wanting the money was stern enough to make Felicity flinch visibly. She was only trying to help and more and more it looked as though this girl was offended or reacting aggressively to her persistent urges and reassurances about her kind offer. Claudia was making it no better by chipping in with her cold remarks but even so, the girl’s attitude came as a surprise to the northerner. Most people she had met in this region were so much friendlier than the harsh tongued Sherygoedians; Jin-Ho, Shati – the kind vendor from this morning – were just a few of the names she could drawn on but the city itself was a much more positive place, probably thanks to the lack of extreme weather to grind down happy spirits... But as the girl’s angry eyes gazed at the offering of pennies the feeble woman supposed that there was an outlier to every situation. Not everybody here could be so good natured in comparison to what she was used to.

In response to the retaliation of the little girl Claudia’s already sour expression curled into a snarl. Not only was she an eyesore but this street spawn was riddled with insolence. In the flowers eyes she hadn’t been that rude. She hadn’t denied her the money on offer and if anything it was saving the creature from having to suffer Felicity’s attempts at affection any longer. But no, from the small childish lips flushed with the slightly chilly air equally sharp thorny words had been spat and Claudia was in the right mindset to leap from her perch and claw at the girl’s eyes if only it wouldn’t be so unladylike and potentially dangerous. The flower was half way through retorting when, quicker than Felicity could ever react, a grubby mitt had swiped her purse and the girl was away.

This was too much for poor old Felicity and for a good few seconds the urchin was given a generous head start as both plague and Grimm were taken aback. However, unlike her human Claudia was not one to gawp as someone insulted them and attempted to get away with it so she twisted her viscous fingers itching for retribution into her Grimm’s hair till Felicity yelped. “After her!” The caedos screeched. Fury was blazing in her eyes and the whole of her black skinned body was tensed up with anger. If she was better equipped she would be flying with hell’s fury on her side after the homeless brat but getting her useless woman to stumble after the wiry child was the best she could manage right now.

S-stop-p! Thief!” Felicity yelled as she summoned all the energy within her bony frame and skittered after the disappearing figure of the waif. In a fair race she would most certainly lose to the youthful and energetic girl, but should some passerby notice the chase and intervene she might just stand a chance of retrieving her purse! Judging by the blistering white pain burning her scalp catching the girl was also necessary if avoiding further punishment for the lapse in concentration was to occur.

Heaven would have to help the urchin if by some miracle Felicity caught up. Claudia was after blood one way or another.

Audrey tore down the alleyway, skidding to round the corner while attempting to maintain her breakneck pace.

This had the potential to be a very interesting hit, but one that she was quite sure she wished to accomplish scotch free. Though the stranger was so frail and timid in both personality and appearance; she had a sinking feeling about her. This fear was most heavily impressioned by the flower that had so suddenly presented itself. Audrey had never seen an excito, let alone angered one. She had never even met another who owned a plague, item or otherwise. She could never be sure of the Grimm's motives, nor of the rose's abilities.

Thus, the girl had hoped that the woman would be flaky enough to stay behind, too fearful or dainty to attempt to hunt down the child, but as she fled from the dank space she heard her victim call out, and it was only moments before the sound of following footsteps began to trail behind her. The urchin knew better than to look back and tempt her chances of stumbling, and instead grimaced as she kept her gaze forward and focused, assuming the space between the lady's reaction and her own escape gave her a hearty handicap. Despite this, the Auvinian still knew she would have to manage to loose the Keeper somehow, and struggled to muster more speed.

Through various situations were citizens noticed a tug at their wallets, or were quick to find that their purses had been emptied, Audrey had learned several tricks to avoid the threatening hands of those scornful with her thievery. It was a trail and error process, one that sometimes lead to the painful failure of unforgiving repercussions or the fruitful success of victory's spoils. By this time though, the orphan was feeling quite sure of her methods, and calculated her escape route with hasty confidence as she clutched the bag in her hands and forced her legs to hurry forward as rapidly as they could carry her.

The girl dashed down the open street, the cold autumn air that hung fresh in the atmosphere filling her lungs as her breath became heavier. She needed to head closer to the market, where hopefully a large enough crowd would still be meandering about, a living camouflage that she could abscond into before retreating deeper into the intertwining pathways of the town. She could more easily dart around strangers, blend in, and make her get away while the woman would have to attempt to push and stumble her way around the carts and bystanders. The place was beginning to seem a ways off though, and this trickled panic into the racing thoughts of the pickpocket.

Hazel orbs fluttered about, making flustered attempts to search out detours or obstacles that could make it catching the nimble thing an far more arduous task. She knew she needed to traverse, to lead this woman up and down and throughout every nook and cranny the city could offer; to confuse and dizzy her awareness of her surrounding as well as her target's whereabouts.

Finally, the Southerner's eyes caught an opening, the mouth to another ally that lay just a few shops ahead, and she took to extra time debating her next action. The instant the gap was within reach, she twisted her body, rocking to the edges of her feet to make the turn and bounded into the welcoming shade of the passageway, but as then she heard it. A sickening rip, a tearing that Audrey was immediately able to identify, and as she landed in the corridor her earlier fear presented itself. Her shoe couldn't handle the sudden stress, and the fabric holding the thing together had given up, resulting in the sole slipping out from beneath her, causing her ankle to twist into a most painful distortion. The Grimm yelped, gasping as she stumbled forward several steps before crashing to the cobblestone, pangs of the injury reverberating up her leg.

Compared to the fleet footed, fit young girl that she was chasing Felicity appeared to have absolutely no chance at catching up. In fact, a few bystanders sniggered and jeered openly as first the nimble street urchin rushed past and then – trailing noisily behind with her hobnailed boots clacking like a pair of deranged horse hooves on the stone floor – Felicity, already panting with exertion. Of course they were going to back the thief in this situation! The urchin was obviously more akin with the people of these streets whereas she was the obvious outsider – pale skinned, garbed in her heavy dark clothes. All of a sudden the welcoming faces of the townspeople who had been so polite throughout the day were smugly watching on as she stumbled over her adversary. It hurt, yes, but what hurt more was the demonic little figure clinging onto her shoulder shrieking into her ears and yanking forcefully on her hair.

Get her! Run faster! I want to tear out her eyes, that insolent little brat! How dare she!” The actions of the little swine hadn’t been directly aimed at her and to some it may seem over the top to feel so passionately enraged about the swiping of her keeper’s money... But the flower had been dealt annoyance after annoyance over the course of the day and the retort of the girl had lit the explosive bundle of rage that had been building up and this chase was making the fuse run down rapidly. If she did get her hands on the young creature the explosion that was sure to happen would likely result in the plague carrying out her exclamation.

As the girl drew further in front of them Felicity honestly believed that the contents of her purse were doomed to be lost forever. She simply could not keep up with this level of exercise. Even after the treats and full meals that her kind friend had paid for she was still no more than a sickly looking woman with barely any more meat on her body that a crow picked corpse – she wasn’t equipped for running... She was about to gasp her apologetic admission of defeat through the pain of a fast developing stitch to Claudia when a delightful sight was unveiled in front of her.

The urchin had fallen! Whilst trying to swerve into some side alley she had slipped on something or other and like a fleeing game bird plucked from the sky by a hunter’s arrow she had crashed to the ground. Now, like the stupid hunter’s dog Felicity only had to cover the relatively short distance to her felled prey and Claudia would presumably do all the work. She didn’t want to hurt the girl but judging by the efforts that the feral child had gone to in her attempt to escape she would not be getting her possessions back without letting Claudia be a little rough... But if it came to the point where the flower was inflicting unnecessary harm (and judging by the way the caedos was speaking – it was likely) she would step in... Yes... She could do that...

Stumbling those last few metres she huffed and stood over the girl. “G-gi-i-ive it b-bac-ck..” Claudia was already scrambling downwards so she could make a clean leap at the other’s face... If she knew what was good for her she’d surrender... If not... Well... Felicity really hoped that her wiry black charge could be pulled off.

The instant Audrey hit the street she knew her luck had run dry. It only took moments for the woman to close the gap that had separated them, and by the time the urchin had scrambled to push herself up and pull her face from the damp stone, her opposers were already looming tauntingly above her. The girl stared up at the pair, eyes wide as the panic set in, jaw clenched tight, and knuckles burning white as they gripped desperately to the purse the stranger was demanding she return.

Her options were few, and she recognized that. The Auvinian could try to escape once more, somehow rise again to her feet and make a break for it, but this idea was quickly dispatched as she twitched her ankle in a test, and a piercing pain shot through to her toes. The orphan flinched, cursing under her breath as the sensation rippled up her leg; she figured she could still run... but not without pain, and not nearly as fast. She would be caught for sure, and with much greater consequence. So as the child assessed the situation with racing thoughts and a grave expression; she understood that there was only choice to make. Hand over the money, or refuse and suffer whatever the Grimm and her Plague felt necessary.

Her sights were dead locked on Claudia, that flowery being that even though so small seemed to fill the air with a thick rage. What would the thing do if she did not surrender the coin? Would it leap forward and tear her flesh from the bone? Did it have the ability to bleed her dry and end her, right then and there? Would it infest her? Curse her to endure the illness that it was born from? To die slowly and painfully? The woman, would she allow this to happen? She seemed so innocent, stupid, so well-meaning, just minutes before ! Would she abandon that facade to take up a much more devious persona? To murder a young girl left to the streets?

These theories riddled Audrey's consciousness, the 'reason' within her mind shouting pleas for her to avoid such evils; to accept the possibility of these consequences. It begged for her to think of her own safety, to think of the safety of the tail, her most treasured item that continued to writhe and twitch beside her as if filled with the same adrenaline that caused her chest to thrum unevenly. What if they were to take it? All that effort lost! All that blood spilled! Those nights curled up in the gutter lost for a foreigner's pouch!

But somehow these thoughts became like whispers, dwarfed in the presence of a voice who's demands screamed loudest above all else. Her damn, god forsaken, 'pride'. It was like an all encompassing din that would not allow anything else to guide her. She could not give in, regardless of the punishment that could befall her in such childish arrogance. She would accept whatever repercussions her failure would crash upon her. There was no way she would forfeit her pride for her well-being, nor would she let herself preform with such sickening cowardice, even if it meant dealing with bruises of regret.

Reaching one scraped hand up to wipe dirt from her muddied cheek, the keeper offered the Northerner and her companion a countenance of bitter rivalry, baring her teeth as if to snarl before challenging them, "******** off."

There was literally nothing that Felicity could do to prevent her squirming, seething bundle of petals and hate from enacting her malignant revenge upon the unfortunate. Even as the two humans were locked in a tense stalemate – each seeming unsure what to do in this situation – the caedos was inching over Felicity’s rather vacant hands. Downwards. Closer to the ratty girl. She needed to be near enough so that one well sprung leap could allow her to lash out at the greenish orbs that were narrowed in concentration. The child was a wiry quick creature, evidently utterly devoid of manners of civilised behaviour – it would have to be a punishment neatly executed or else the urchin’s dirty finger could scrabble at the perfect petals of her dress and ruin it!

Her keeper wasn’t being any help either... She was indeed distracted by the thoughts going on in her near empty head but still, as if lightly trying to keep a hold of Claudia, her fingers loosely grasped at the area that the flower was clambering across. Not only hindering the rose directly as she pinned her temporarily or obscured her contorted decent to a good jumping spot, but she was ruffling the worn fabric of her dress and making it difficult to get into a good position for leaping.. A villainous grimace on her countenance Claudia sunk a sharp finger into the pale taunt skin of her Grimm’s hand – move!

As her ward was travelling southwards in an attempt to get a good shot at maiming the street child Felicity was transfixed by the richly hued eyes that bored into her. They encapsulated the richness of nature that was so utterly lacking in the snow bound landscape of the north – a beautiful jade green with an embellishment of a vein of gold... And yet, rather than being nurtured into a smile, kept clean and given the pleasures of a childhood the precious gems had become hard and raw. Chipped by the extremes of her rank in society there was no friendliness of the girl’s expression...

Fear... Perhaps? But mostly all Felicity saw was a bitter feral scowl of wounded emotion. She was trying not to let her cracked maternal side seep into her perception of the situation. This child wasn’t like the grateful and mild-mannered Chauhn... She was wilder. In many ways the dirty skinned youth reminded Felicity of the stray animals that could sometimes be spied near built areas. Those skinny and lawless cats that would scrap over even the smallest display of charity yet would sooner claw the scrap of meat out of the feeder’s hand than willing eat it from the generous digits...

Even when the harsh profanity was hurled at her the fragile woman seemed lost in thought as she continued to think upon how surprisingly correct her comparison was... Claudia however took the two word utterance as a final mark of insolence – launching herself with her leafy legs at the offender.

b***h!

Audrey lashed her arms upward, lids clenched tight as she gnashed her teeth, to protect her face from the flower who had leaped from the hands of her guardian in such a threatening manner. Her reflex had saved her by mere seconds as the Caedos landed, sharp and malicious fingers ripping her sleeve and digging into what flesh made up her forearm. The instant the thing hit her, the urchin's eyes fled back open, orbs wides and reflecting a heavy sense of urgency and fear, though her brows were furrowed in anger.

"Get the ******** off of me," She exclaimed, voice strained and demanding as she hastily reached her free hand over to claw at the tiny being who was so eagerly drawing blood from the girl. Audrey was then all flails and desperate fearful scrapes at her limb the enemy had latched onto, an ungraceful attempt to remove the thing; a steady stream of curses flowing from the child's breath.

And within this short gap of time upon which the keeper had been attacked, there was a stirring and then a mess of movement. With all the tension in the air, with the outburst of violence, the bloody taint that clung to the tail at Audrey's hip had decided to react and take form; a small and senseless being in the shape of some type of distorted canine. Now, detached from her belt, the thing simply scrambled about around the girl, darting across her legs and scurrying about her in almost a playful manner, thoroughly consumed and fascinated with the adrenaline in the air, but without a conciseness to truly understand it.

There was little that the woman could do but lean over the struggling figure of the girl and flap her bony hands at the scampering figure of malicious energy that was taking such great pleasure in inflicting harm open the urchin. Claudia wouldn’t listen to her in a million years but judging by the violent cusses that were bursting from the girl’s mouth it seemed only a matter of time before the street waif had enough and managed to get a grip on the flower. Once those dirty little fingers managed to get a hold of the rose it would be game over. No matter how hard the flower would struggle, no matter how many thorns she dug into the palms of the girl, all it would take would be one deft strike against the floor and the rose’s pretty black head could be burst like an unripe flower bud.

But what could she do? Claudia was making a mess of the girl’s forearms and hands; blood was beginning to be clearly spilt! It wasn’t the girl being feral here – just the plague, lashing into the thief like a terrier unleashed upon a rat. She had seen such a thing before, in a shady corner of a sherygoedian market... There was definitely some of the animalistic fury in the blazing white eyes of the caedos... It hadn’t been until the rat was in bloody tatters that the owners had removed the scrawny creature though. She couldn’t do that here! She was just a gawping, dumb, useless creature.

Fortunately developments outside of anyone’s control lead to the assault upon Audrey momentarily abating. A strong odour of death washed over the flower, masking the satisfying tang of blood, and with her fingers still curled into claws around the wrist of the young offender Claudia’s head pricked up and she swivelled half on the spot. What was that? Some canine creature was scuttling around the girl’s legs as she flailed to knock her off. It sported a large fluffy tail – previously attached to the girl’s waist? – yet it’s body was much like her own; black, tainted, with glowing eyes.

Hello? Is she your... Grimm?” she dropped the wrist she had been attacking with such vigour and strode shockingly calmly down the urchin’s chest and waist. Surely a filthy b***h like this could not be a guardian to one of her kind. “Do you understand me?” There was a waver of danger in the air. His eyes, she could feel it’s masculinity through his piercing gaze, were not like other excitos... They had an unconscious chaos to them. Running of instincts?

As the girl's arm was relinquished, and the rose calmly redirected her attention, Audrey quickly pulled the limb into proper view, tugging her sleeve up to bitterly observe the mess of bloody slits the knife-like fingers had left. It was much less damage than she had expected, though the injury still left her furious. It still burned at her flesh and allowed such precious liquids to abandon her veins.

Hissing at the stinging pain that the cuts bestowed upon her, the urchin attempted to push her focus away from the torn skin and back to her attackers; The plague who had so suddenly ceased her onslaught, and the woman who the thief could not decipher's motives. She had planned to prop herself up, give a grand show of her insolence in a series of disdainful barks and then prepare herself for whatever the strangers would throw at her next, but as she lifted her head, her eyes caught sight only of Claudia. The being was speaking to her tail. Speaking to her most precious item. Audrey had not noticed that it had become active during all the chaos, unaware that it had taken shape and was now running free, and the evil little thing was approaching it. Her senses filled with an overwhelming invasion of panic.

The Putesco had taken a moment from it's rapid meandering to circle around the Excito several times as she spoke, it's large tail dragging behind it, almost making a ring around the foreigner. It, however, did not respond to the questions, unaware of language or conversation. The thing was purely instinct, no consciousness to support any true thought. Even if the item was capable of any cognitive comprehension, any form of communication, it would have had no time to speak, for within instants a hand shot out to grab the rose with red and dirtied fingers.

"Don't you dare go near him," Audrey screamed, cheeks burning with contempt as her knuckles grew white while tightening her grip on the tiny threat. There was no way she would let these two do anything to her item. That tail was hers to protect, and hers to own alone. She would never allow for them to take him, her only prize for so much blood spilled.

Before she could advance any further the girl had reacted, quicker than a whippet, snatching Claudia and yanking her backwards like she was no more than an immobile doll. Of course, Claudia rejected this treatment adamantly. How dare the brat lay a finger upon her, let alone grasp her in such an uncomfortable and dirty manner. Simply the thought of the grubby digits pressed angrily against her perfect petals caused a flame of anger to singe the flower's black heart. What if she got dirty human blood smeared on her? When she had been born it had been through spilt blood, but that was chaos blessed by The House. This girl was a mere mortal, stained and disgusting; being held by her hand made Claudia sick to the core.

Let me go you b***h.” Her voice was a hiss, as threatening as it could be considering that her miniature lungs were constricted by the vice-like grip. “I'll kill you, I will... I promise you'll die by my hand if you don't release me!” Fury gleamed through her black wicked face, her eyes were flames dancing in the darkness. Oh how she wished that she had teeth, malicious and sharp as her fingers, to bite at the hands that pinned her. Being at the mercy of this scum was the worst thing. Why wasn't Felicity doing anything?! As a member of The House it was her duty to protect her – her plague, a caedos! The ultimate manifestation of the Glutton God's desire for chaos! If it was a fear of being harmed then her Grimm was weaker than she ever could have anticipated. “Felicity!” She yelped, thrashing her flower capped head and spitting venomous words.

It was not fear for herself that the human hesitated but a dull thudding shock that immobilised her. Her heart was beating in a loud crescendo as this aggressive and tension filled scenario played out. What could she do?! Jump on top of the urchin and wrestle Claudia back? That wouldn't work. The wiry muscles of the girl used to running and weaving and snatching and jabbing would almost certainly over power her. Suddenly a flare of inspiration hit the woman and she acted upon it before any serious hand could befall her delicate ward.

G-give her b-back!” She stuttered, prodding the girl with her foot to catch her attention. She thrust the puetsco, which she had snatched from it's place on her body. She was gripping it by the end of the bushy tail and letting the canine taint dangle downwards. “P-please.. Don't hurt-t h-her. If you d-do... I'll... I'll,” she wasn't sure what she would do to the tail, how could one destroy a tainted item? Stamp on it? Maybe... The means did not matter; judging by how the girl had reacted when Claudia had moved towards the creature the girl was overly protective enough to feel the reality of the threat.

I d-don't want t-to make you reg-gret-t it.
