The children's art and science museum was having an Experience Music weekend and Heloise had decided that Liesel should go. Not so much because Liesel showed any particular interest in music or musical instruments, but because Heloise was feeling just a little bit preoccupied with her witching business and needed a break.
One whole huge room of the museum had been converted for this special exhibit. There were instruments and music clips from famous artists, and also an entire interactive display where the kids could try out all sorts of musical instruments and buy a recording of their playing should a parent be so inclined.
Liesel was not particularly impressed, truth be told. But she smiled because thats what you do and tried to find something that was interesting.
"Why don't you go over there and play with the drums?" Asked Heloise. Obediently, Liesel trotted over to the drum set, though she didn't play anything. Instead she sat down and watched the other children around her.

Echo was in Heaven.
Paradise.
And everywhere in-between.
Considering his species, it was rare that he was ever allowed anywhere near instruments, especially not by his father. That was likely the only reason that he was allowed to be here today. Rather than his dad's hand, one of his small pudgy hands was wrapped around Matthew's pointer finger. He wiggled, looking all around and completely unable to decide one where he wanted to go. Thankfully, since he wasn't going out somewhere fancy or anything else, or with his dad, he was wearing minimal clothing for once. Rather, he was in a pair of cargo shorts -the better for filling his pockets with candy from Matthew- and a simple little tee-shirt.
Finally, once he managed to raise his jaw up off the floor, he rushed into the room, looking all around with the biggest of smiles on his pale and freckled face. He couldn't even decide what he wanted to do, let alone what part of the room he wanted to be in!! Quietly, he giggled and squealed to himself, laughing a bit as he played 'eeny-meeny-miny-moe', pointing one of his small fingers between each of the little stations that were set up around the room, wiggling himself slightly in the hopes of choosing something and actually settling on it, even if they had nowhere else to be for the rest of the day.

It was perhaps his intensity that drew Liesel's eyes to the wiggly dark haired boy who stood transfixed in the middle of the room. She smiled a little, his awestruck enthusiasm was somewhat catching even if she'd prefer to be checking out a butterfly exhibit or something more along those lines. Then again, it could just be the fact that the sheer cacophony of lots of children making noise didn't appeal to Liesel's sensitive ears.
Not that it mattered, she smiled and watched Echo since he was the most interesting thing in the room. She didn't even notice Crunch sliding out of her shadow and taking his own somewhat bestial form until she felt his head butt up under her hand for a pet.
"Runch." The shadow said, noticing where Liesel was looking. "Ch-ch-ch." And then without warning he bounded off towards Echo, bowling straight into the boy as if intent to knock him down.
"Oh Crunch!" Liesel called after the shadow in a dismayed voice. Rising to her feet she went towards the two to make sure they were both okay.
