I'm new here, but I really need some advice about something. A few years ago a friend of mine got me into something called 'astral projection', and despite feeling uncomfortable about it, I had a hard time getting out. She would keep bringing it up when I shut it down, and she also kept saying it made her sick to stop. I think she was playing with my head, but I need to know more about it to know. Does anyone know anything about it? We're also done with it now, but I feel haunted. It's really weird. Could something like this have any weird affects?

Pfft. It's only affecting you if you think it is. That said, it's difficult to change what you believe merely by forcing yourself to think a certain way; even harder to force yourself to return to your original state. Can we have more details, because I've never heard of astral projection being harmful in any way, it's just a visualization technique used in meditation. Ô_o

It's in a perpetual love affair with these things.

Astral projection is a very real thing. I use to practice it but stopped several years ago. It can be quite scary at first and a very bad thing if you do not know how to handle it (for example you didn't clean your chakra's or aura) or if your not educated enough about its process.
You said you feel haunted about it? Did you ever practice it because if you did it could have negative impacts on you if you didn't do it correctly...for example if you do astral project then you need to perform some sort of physical exercise afterwards to make sure you are secured back to your physical body. If you fail to do this it can leave you vulnerable to evil spirits. Think of it as a robber breaking into your home unless you have some sort of security system. Don't play around with things like that unless your serious about it, otherwise something can go very wrong.

Out-of-body experiences can be reproduced in the laboratory, by meditation or by using drugs such as LSD. There's nothing supernatural about it.
Stop playing with her mind and saying evil spirits will invade her if she's not careful. If she thinks it's real and worries about it, it's going to make her problems worse. Her problems are nothing more than anxiety and fear of something that isn't real.
This is an example where silly beliefs can cause real problems.

Obviously you have very little knowledge on what astral projection is. Taking LSD or any drug might alter your perception of reality but it has nothing at all to do with astral projection and it is NOTHING like what you would experience if you astral projected. There are several forms of meditation but that has nothing at all to do with the act of astral projection either. I don't understand why you would call somebody else's beliefs silly when you no very little about it in the first place.

By all means, explain why it's actually true and not just tricks of the mind, and how you could show that it's actually true, so you can test it.
