It had been awhile since Lumusi had parted ways with her mother and her other siblings and unlike what her siblings believed, she was doing fine. Hunting for herself was much easier than hunting for her entire family, finding shelter was much easier, and she liked her solitude. She didn't have to constantly listen to her sisters jabber away about their relatively insignificant lives and about attractive male rogues that had passed by. She found herself mentally more developed than the discussions her sisters had.
Lumusi was surprised that she hadn't thought of the idea sooner. Though, there was also a con to every decision and leaving meant that she had to say goodbye to her mother. Even though she was a single mother, Zuri had taught Lumusi well and everything her mother did was because she loved them. Lumusi hoped that someday her mother would find somewhere to settle down and just be happy. Their lives had been a struggle but somehow her mother managed. Lumusi had learned a great deal from her and knew that with everything Zuri had taught her, she would be alright.

It was only the first few days of his travels, Flann felt a little lost and confused. It was the only time he had been any sort of distance from his den. There had been murders in his home just prior to his birth and as a result his mother had always kept him close to home, now however it was all different. The elders had approached him and it was time to go. Flann had been so excited to see his pilgrimage, the world beyond the pride's boarders was bound to be more interesting then his den.
As Flann walked he kept his head held high, he did not want to appear to be a weak lion. His read mane made him stand out but he took pride in it anyhow. Flann didn't know where he was walking or where he was going or even when he mind find his name, but he was on an adventure.

Lumusi's family had always struggled to find food and take care of each other but that only made her stronger. Without that upbringing, she didn't know if she could be living out on her own right now. Looking around, Lumusi noticed something standing out against the tall grass and made it out to be another lion. Shrugging, Lumusi wasn't scared of anything so she just kept on her way noticing that the red mane was getting closer and closer.
Rogue lions could be dangerous and Lumusi's mother had always warned them to stay clear of them. They were always wanting one thing or another so it was best to avoid interacting. She had recalled there being a watering hole nearby so she decided to veer that way and take a drink.
As she approached the water, Lumusi looked around to make sure that nothing was nearby and then she dipped her muzzle into the cool water. It had been a hot day so the water was a nice reprieve from the weather.

Flann was hot, very hot. He was not use to the heat of the desert, his home was a swamp, cool and moist. Flann had never imagined that the world could be this hot, he really wasn't a fan. Spotting water the young lion began to rush towards the water excited that he had spotted soemthing to be refreshing, the dark blue male dunk his whole face into the water and then when he picked his head up again he began to drink, it was then that he saw the other blue lion.
He smiled, at last another creature, another lion, perhaps a companion. He began to walk towards her a large grin on his face, it would be impossible ti mistake Flann as a dangerous lion he was far to friendly and loving in his way that he approached others. Reaching the side of the other lion he sat down, "Hello" he chirpped he wasn't able to hid his excitement at finding someone to talk to, Flann had never been lonely in his life growing up with a den full of siblings both litter mates, older siblings and even his cousins. Noww on his naming quest that was all the poor lion experienced, lonlieness.

The heat didn't bother her too much but Lumusi had to admit that it was particularly hot on this day. Lumusi had been through here before and she had been a wanderer all of her life. She was still young but she was much more mature for her age and had gone through experiences even fully grown adults hadn't gone through.
She didn't even notice the other lion approaching and she jumped slightly when she heard his voice. "What do you want?" He had startled her so she was feeling slightly unnerved. It was dangerous out here and she had had too many uncomfortable encounters already. Trouble seemed to follow her around.
Lumusi glanced skeptically at the other lion determining if he was a threat or not. He was so friendly... She was used to hostile lions and it seemed like this one was rather.. young. The lioness kept her eyes on him trying to determine all of her possible escape routes just in case this turned out poorly. Though, he really seemed too young to be much of a threat...

Flann was taken aback by the way the female greated him. Flann didn't have an understanding of the fact that out in the desert other lions may not be as friendly as he was. You would think that he would understand seeing the events that took place in his home lands just before he was born, but Flann never let himself think about those events too often, they were in the past there was no need to spend time and energy worring about them.
"I am sorry if I startled you." he said in a quite voice, "I didn't want anything in particular I have just been travelling on my own for quite sometime and was excited to see another soul. I was hoping you wouldn't mind some company. However if I'll be a bother I can be on my way." He had a small smile on his face he was really hoping that the female wouldn't send him on his way, he wanted to ask her question about her life, she was a rouge, which was something to foreign to him, he felt a need to know more, after all that was what a naming quest was for right finding out more about the world and oneself.

She had to take care of herself for her entire life and even when she had lived with her mother, Lumusi had to take care of them too. So basically, Lumusi's life had been rather rough up until now and though things weren't as glamorous as she had hoped, this was the lifestyle that she had wanted. It was natural for her to be wary of strangers and she had a difficult time trusting anybody else in general. Besides her mother, her siblings weren't exactly the types that you could rely on.
Relaxing slightly as he spoke, Lumusi still eyed him carefully making sure that he wasn't going to try anything. Company? This lion seemed to be a young one. Perhaps his first time out on his own? Lumusi was unaware of most of the prides in the area; she knew they existed but at this point, she wasn't too interested in them.
For some reason, Lumusi seemed to be able to sympathize with that because she was definitely scared the first time she was out on her own. "Sure... I don't mind." She spoke hesitantly but this lion seemed genuine so she would give him a chance. "What brings you to this area?"

Flann puffed out his cheast a bit, he was very excited that the female had agreed to let him stick around. He wasn't really sure how to interact with females, the only females he had talked to in his so far short life was his mother and sisters and he was sure that wasn't how most interactions went. "Why thank you," he said settling himself into a seated postion.
"I am travelling to find my true name." Flann told the lioness in response to her question. "I am from a pride who beleives that the name you are given at birth is just a place holder, when we are old enough we go out into the desert and we search for our true names." It was a funny way of doing things Flann had to admit, and he was sure it wouldn't make sense to an outsider but Flann was very proud to come from his home. "Are you from a pride?" he asked, he wanted to know about this lioness, after all how was he going to find his true name if didn't learn more about others and himself?

Lumusi glanced around still wondering why this lion seemed so comfortable. If he was going to hang around her for long, he was going to have to learn to be more careful. Too many things out there that might be looking for a snack. Pausing her thoughts for a moment, she looked at him with a quizzical look on her face. True name? Did that mean he currently didn't have a name? She couldn't help but think how strange his pride must have been.
"That's.... interesting." That was the nicest way that she could put it though how could she judge someone who has grown up thinking that way. Wasn't his fault. Shrugging it off, Lumusi shook her head at his question. "No, I'm a wandering rogue." For now. Of course she loved her current lifestyle but it was merely a transition state. She hoped to find somewhere to settle down and figure out a new life style. "I like living alone and going where I please. I have quite a few siblings so the freedom is refreshing."

Flann wasn't really phased by the lioness's coldness in fact he didn't really notice it at all. Flann was far to sheltered he was surprised that his mother had even let him leave on his naming quest after all he had barely been allowed to leave the area around his den unless he was accompanied by one of his older siblings or his aunt Semira.
"Ah you have a lot of siblings as well. I am one of six in my litter, then there was my older siblings there was five, plus my cousins lived in our den, there parents were killed." it was a fact of life for Flann so he said it very causally as if it was no big deal.
"I don't think I could handle living alone, I've only been outside of my pride for a short time and already I am lonely. I was very excited when I saw you." he paused a moment realizing that perhaps he had gone on for too long and was showing the weak side of himself.
"Well since you are a traveller you must knnow this area. Perhaps you could tell me where things are around her."

This lion really did catch her off guard and she really didn't know how to respond to him at this point. Even though her mother had kept a very watchful eye over her and her siblings, Lumusi was aware of the troubles in the world. Maybe it was watching her single mother struggle to feed the family or maybe it was just watching the circle of life, Lumusi had learned to be very wary of everybody.
Killed? So he's seen the horrors too and yet he's still this friendly around strangers? That was... unusual. "You will be returning to your pride though right? So there's nothing to worry about cause you know that you'll be back in no time..." Comforting others definitely wasn't her strong suit but she did her best. "I don't know this area very well. It's far from home and I've only recently arrived. So I'm about familiar with this area as you are." Shrugging, the lioness wished she could help but she never stayed in one place for long. "Living alone does take some getting used to but at least you know that you have someone to go home to." As much of a loner as she was, Lumusi did wish that she was closer to her family. Maybe someday she could have her own family but that probably wouldn't be for awhile.

Flann smiled, "Yes I will be home in no time... or well in whatever amount of time it takes for me to find my true name." Flann studied the lioness a little as she spoke finding her quite captivating and even somewhat hard to understand.. how could someone travel on their own and live alone was beyond him.
"You know you wouldn't always have to live alone... you could come back to my pride with me." Flann offered her tentatively. He didn't know her well yet and if she agreed to come back with him he would want to spend some time out in the rogue lands to get to know her, the rules had changed in the swamps and in order for a rogue to join now they had to be mated to a member.... and well Flann wasn't ready to mate her.. he barely knew her but he could tell there was something about her.
