[The Booth]

There is no modesty in this rather illustrated table situated some where in the center of the room. Large, self drawn banners decorate the small space with campaign slogans - giving a taste into what the youth promises should he be elected. The slogans range in cheesiness, but ultimately they all seem to speak of the dedication the rather humanoid looking male would put into his position.

Flags holding the young candidates face and his favorite line lay beside the campaign buttons being offered. It was clear that the youth did not have the same skills in creating the items due to their homemade feel but at the same time the fact that he went so far as to create each from hand spoke volumes of his desire to succeed.

A small sign lay beside the items, the words 'Free to all, but one per student/staff' was written in the same handwriting as the banners and pins.

In the center of the table lay a bunch of printed sheets that spoke of all the teens goals should he be elected and was the only thing in the entire booth that was not hand written.

And finally, a box for the ballets. It was clearly the most plain object on the table, consisting of nothing more then five full wooden squares and single one on top with a small slit in the center. A small card that says 'Thank you for the consideration' rested next to the slit as a silent thank you to whoever decided to grace the box with one of those precious pieces of paper.

[The Sheet]

Printed out on these pieces of paper were the goals that the Valkyrie wished to cover, as well as what he would bring to the table should he be elected. It was a lengthy list, but definitely worth a read if the student had the time.

Goals for this semester:
  • To separate personal prejudice with work - Let's face it. There is no way we can eliminate the prejudice that exists within the halls of our school within a single year, let alone a single semester. However! It is very much possible to ensure that the group of officials in which all the school rely on do not act on these prejudices in a way the demeans the students that come to us for aid. If elected, I will ensure that it is not the race or faction of the individual but the nature of their request that ultimately make our decisions.
  • Equipment for those who with physical difficulties/needs - Are you too small? Too big? Too round? Too anything that may limit you in terms of what you can do in the school? Well, if elected, I will see too it that we not only fix the current equipment but make purchases of equipment that will harbor to the special needs of the individual - withing the limit of what is available funding wise.
  • An increase in extra-curricular activities - We have our clubs, and that is all fine and good, but what about those of us that wish to explore the outside town a bit more? Well I happen to harbor several ideas pertaining to just that! Internships, volunteer work, out of school sports teams! All will be worked towards being a norm if I am elected~!
  • Assisted Learning/Tutoring Center - There are some of us that do not learn as well in a class scenario as they would with individual instruction, and while the teachers are willing to assist when they can it isn't reliable enough to ensure the success of these students. So thus I created the notion of a Tutoring Center where those students with needs can come and learn one on one with their peers without the pressure of the classroom environment and in complete secrecy. The tutors will be hand chosen to ensure the best results, and paid to compensate for their time through funds earned by the Student Council.
  • Feel free to suggest things that you feel important! I'm willing to hear your concerns!

What I offer:
  • Dedication - It's one thing to say that you will do something, it's completely different to actually go the lengths to do it. You will get the guarantee that I will persist with my goals until the end of my term. There are no empty words here!
  • Intelligence - Knowledge is the key to understanding, and without understanding the issues at hand there is no way that change will come about. I promise to do my research and fully understand each and every concern brought to me before jumping into action.
  • Un-biased judgement - As a Reaper, I know just how it feels to constantly feel like people are looking down on you because of race or faction. If elected, I promise never to let personal prejudice on person, race or faction to cloud my judgment. We will all be equal.

So the time had finally come to take his campaign on the road. Well, not road to be precise, but close enough. There was no denying that he was nervous, especially considering there were two other candidates running for the same position - both of which were probably more skilled in the creation of campaign items then he. But even with the soft bubbling of nerves filling his stomach Valk couldn't shake the feeling of excitement that welled within him as well.

Even if he didn't win, at least he had managed to get his name out there and his voice heard! For the Reaper, that in itself was a feat well accomplished and enough to satisfy his desire for acknowledgment. The perk of possibly becoming one of the most powerful figures of the school didn't hurt either.

Settled behind his booth, the Valkyrie's ruby red eyes watched as the students passed before him, a constant smile pressed across his face as he waited for them to draw closer and examine what it is that he had to offer. Ultimately, they would all come to him in time he reasoned - after all, to choose a candidate before meeting them all would be unfair. He'd even go so far to tell any potential voters something to same extent, albeit a bit more strategically. He was content with that line of thinking.

It wasn't as if he hadn't gotten any attention however, he had made sure to make the signs as big and flamboyant as possible to ensure that everyone at least saw! And for those that ventured close enough and with honest interest, or even just a confused expression, he made sure to greet them kindly and answer whatever questions they may pose.

Right now... it was just kind of slow is all.

Coralie was making her way through all the stands, looking at every one's...different qualities. She didn't have anything in particular she was looking for. Who was on student council really didn't matter since it wouldn't be her, but this was definitely an event that was interesting to say the least. It also meant she got to talk to a lot of the students she had merely passed by in class.

She had never met Valk before and it was obvious that his table wasn't...quite as "ornate" as the others. But it was nice to see a fellow Reaper and since she was collecting pins she decided to stop by. She took one of his goal sheets as she came to the table and hopped up to sit upon the surface (regardless of whether or not he approved) while she read it. Having finished she twisted her body a little to look at him while she said, "You're taking this rather seriously aren't you?" There was nothing disapproving in her tone, nor anything that offered phrase. If anything she just seemed curious.

"This here's some'un who can be a real pres-dent!" Said Wilfred loudly in approval, his piece of hay bobbing up and down between his teeth.

Coralie was the first student to stop by his table in what felt like hours to the winged Reaper, and he could honestly say he was both relieved to have he attracted to his table and a bit upset by her obvious lack of respect for his booth. Not that he really minded. Everything on the table could be easily replaced or fixed if broken - it would be something to do while he waited for more students he mused to himself.

He was silent as she read, his ruby eyes studying her from the corner of his eye as he waited for her to say something. She was attractive, there was no denying that, and admittedly the Valkyrie wondered if her skin tasted just like the dark chocolate that it resembled. A soft flush graced his face and he shook his head softly to rid himself of such perverse thoughts. It would be bad to scare his first potential voter off by coming off as a pervert. No matter how common it was for adolescent male's to think of such things.

The shifting of her body was what initially drew his eyes to hers, his height allowing him to look her in the eye despite the perch she was settled on. A soft, albeit slightly embarrassed smile graced his face at the girls words and for a brief moment he was left wondering if he had been to serious with his campaign. "I'm the kind of guy who gives his all in whatever I do. Student Council President is an important position too... it wouldn't do to have someone half-a** it in the campaign because then they would probably half-a** it when on the council. At least... that's my opinion." He gave a soft shrug before turning his eyes up to the speaking hat, a happier smile ghosting over his features. "You think? In truth... I kind of want to go into politics after school. Though it's kind of hard to do that when Reapers as a general rule are looked on as the 'workers' of society." It was as sad truth, but truth none the less.

Maritess hadn't quite made up her mind on who to vote for president yet. It was the most important position in the student council after all. And it wasn't as if she had any personal investment in any of the candidates, which made deciding all the more difficult. So here she was, flying towards Valjo- Valkos- (she glances towards the banners) Valk's booth and hovered just beside Coralie.

"Fancy seeing you again," Tess smiled at the other ghoul before turning towards the winged boil's list. It was long, Tess found, which indicated to the manananggal that he had an eye for detail. A very important quality, she believed. She just hoped he wasn't too focused on the details as to miss the bigger picture. "You're very thorough," she breathed when she finally finished reading.

Coralie pursed her lips thoughtfully, letting her legs swing back and forth from where she sat. "That's a hard path your setting yourself up for," she told him. Being a Reaper herself she knew the kind of prejudices they faced in regular situations...she could only imagine how much more intensely that would come to play in politics. She wasn't sure if she should be impressed or sad for him. She swiveled about a little so that her knees came up a bit on the table. "Mmm, well, at least you seem to know it. Naivety is not a virtue in that career path."

She smiled, seeing Maritess for the 3rd time today. They seemed to be going to all the same stands...which wasn't saying much for Coralie, really, since she was trying to go to all of them. "It seems we're both just table hoppers, hu?"

Traffic was low at her own booth, and Lizzy was curious about the other booths being set up in the school. While she knew a small number of the students running for the various positions and wished them luck, she was trying to be as neutral as she could in regards to voting - this means visiting all the booths and getting to know the candidates rather than just voting for her friends.

After putting out a "Be right back!" sign on her table, she took one of her own pins and attached it to the cat plushie that she had taken a liking to; besides, if she took pins, pinning it on the plushie would mean minimizing damage to her clothes! The first booth she decided to visit looked scary enough (decorated with his own face, seriously?) to attract her at first glance without it being one of her friend's. In fact, it belonged to a male with wings that she don't remember seeing in class... She waved eagerly at Tess - familiar face! - before offering a smile to the female Reaper she had not spoken to before. As she neared, however, she couldn't help but overhear what the president-candidate had to say.

"I like that attitude," She commented, a smile on her lips as she nodded, taking the piece of paper with his goals on it off the booth. Truthfully, the booth didn't look like it belonged to someone who sounded so humble - she was expected some egoistic Demon. Her eyes scanned the page, her smile widening as she read it mentally, "And it shows too! Valkjosandi, is it?" She noticed the pins on his table and giggled, "Or Valk? Much easier to say... I'll be keeping you in mind."
