She closed her eyes and sighed, pushing away her tray of food. The noise of the cafeteria faded as she opened her eyes again, staring blankly at her barely touched lunch. Her friends back home wouldn't recognize her if they saw her now - a frown on her lips, eyebrows locked together... She wanted very much to smile, but it had been tiring to be at the booth the whole day, but not get anywhere. She was still unknown - ah, how she regretted not enrolling in school earlier!

Sighing again, Lizzy rubbed her temples in an attempt to clam herself down. It was surprising how much it was bothering her - she couldn't help but worry about the upcoming public speaking and voting. While she had told herself to just focus on the campaigning at hand, she couldn't help the anxiety that had built up over time. Her rival is one named 'Gargantuan'; she had seen him in classes and... She never thought that he would be the one she had to compete against. While she was sure that where skill was involved, she would be capable of a better job, he had a sort of aura... That makes you want to gather around him.

Ah, like a puppy!

How she arrived at that conclusion, she herself didn't know, but it was a fact - she saw how people gathered around him in class. She would have approached him too (He looks hug-able), but he was among friends and she didn't want to be the odd one out... What to do, what to do...?

Lunch time was Gargantuan's favorite time of the day. What was better than lunch time? Nothing, of course. Happily carrying his lunch pail in one enormous hand, the big beast shuffled through the cafeteria, only pausing when he spotted someone sitting all by themselves. That just seemed wrong somehow, and if the monster peered a little more closely, he could confirm that the girl... well, she looked a little sad!

It took him a minute to ease into one of the chairs, but he managed it, and Gargantuan's tail thumped a little hopefully even as he eyed her. "Hullo." He finally announced after a moment, eager to make a new friend, and a little hesitant that he'd be too eager and scare her off.

Though she looked familiar, G couldn't exactly place her face. In truth, he didn't even realize he was supposed to be running against someone. Bad enough that he had to pick between Chuppi and Sin!

Clumsily sticking his hand inside his lunch pail, Gargantuan happily drew out a frog that he had clearly caught himself and munched on it, then remembered he'd had another thing to say. "Sad day? G has sad days. They go away, promise."

He was hard to miss, seeing he was so huge (She wondered if he was actually larger than that outside of campus), but even as she saw him making his way towards her, Lizzy couldn't help but look surprised as he chose to take a seat nearby. Immediately, she looked away, trying to pretend that she didn't see him. Just as she was about to try leaving the table, she heard a greeting from him...

Directed at her.

She paused, hesitating; her face was a pale shade of pink by now, having felt rather silly at how she reacted. Taking a deep breath, she relaxed and turned to face the Monster with a small smile, "Hello... G, right? I'm Elizabeth, but please call me Lizzy." She had failed to remember his full name, but it was difficult to forget the nickname he had picked for himself. Besides, she had seen his 'In G we trust' pins around.

While she would have taken his comments to be a taunt because of their current circumstances, Lizzy didn't feel any contempt towards the green Monster when he said that... Instead, she found herself nodding in response, "Ah, well... I guess they do... Thank you." Another smile, a more genuine one this time.

Liiizzzyyyyy. The monster muttered her name under his breath to himself, apparently quite pleased with how the letter 'z' tickled his lips. "Hiiii Liiizzzyyyyy." He was proud of himself for saying her name without stumbling over it, and happy that she'd given him a nickname to call her by. Nicknames were good! Belatedly, he would nod to her inquiry. "Yup. Am G." The only one around, so far as he knew!

He tried his best not to eye her lunch, but it was a little hard. It looked tasty! ...But if it was so tasty, why wasn't she eating it? Her thanks made him pause, glancing at her sidelong while his tail thumped in acknowledgment before he spoke up again. "No eat?" Another pause. "...Liiiizzzzyyy sick?" There was no mistaking the worry that now colored his grumbled tones. G never ate food when he was sick! But Nurse Cricket hadn't taught them what to do when someone was sick, and the beast's ear fins drooped unhappily. What could he do?

The monster frowned down at his lunch for a long time, wistfully noting the contents before, with a grumble from his stomach, he pushed the pail over to Lizzy. "Is good." He promised woefully with a nod of his head. "Nom nom nom. Not eating no good."

He watched her with a touch of anxiety now, glancing for someone who might have been able to handle a sick-Lizzy better than he could. He didn't know much about taking care of people!

She giggled softly at the way he said her name, finding it rather cute; it sounded to her like a child trying to say it. She followed his gaze to the tray in front of her, her lunch still very much intact; did he want it? She rubbed her tummy gently, stared at the food, and decided that while she felt slightly better since G's arrival, she still didn't have the appetite to finish the food on her tray.

"Ah, do you-" She begun, pushing the tray towards the Monster. However, she stopped when she noticed how worried he looked. After getting over the initial 'oh no, he looks so sad!' tug on her heart, she couldn't help noticing that he was really starting to resemble a puppy. She eyed his drooped ears for a second before looking up at him, smiling reassuringly, "No no, I'm not sick! Really! Don't worry!"

She appreciated the pail (his lunch?) but frogs? She heard they ate spiders for lunch, not the other way round!

"Aw, I'm really fine, G!" She protested with a chuckle, trying not to seem rude by turning down his good intentions, "I'm just not hungry. Here, you can have my lunch as well as yours." She nodded, pushing both the pail and tray towards him, "You can help eat my share!"

When the tray was pushed his way, the monster froze up a little, watching it like... well, it was the most delicious thing he'd seen in his life. And at that moment, it probably was. Gargantuan was a shameless glutton, but he kept sneaking worried glances at Lizzy, as though trying to gauge if she was serious or not. She might just be pretending not to be sick so there'd be no blecky medicine. He could understand that.

The gift of food was highly cherished to a swamp beast. He wouldn't forget it any time soon, that was for sure!

"Okaaaaay." He eventually rumbled, guiltily reaching out to tug her lunch tray a little closer. There was a pause while he took a bite of her food, nearly thrumming with pleasure before he returned to studying the spider girl a bit more closely. "Liiiiiizzzyyyy be tiny." Came the eventual bright notation, and Gargantuan seemed pleased with himself. "Why so small?"

She watched as G finished up her lunch, nodding whenever he glanced her way to ensure him that it was alright to do so. While he ate, she started to stare at him a little, a thoughtful look on her face - they were supposed to be rivals (in her mind anyway) but here they are, seated at the same table without feeling awkward. If she had the appetite to, Lizzy couldn't help but feel that they would be enjoying a meal together as well.

Right now though, she'll settle for watching.

"Huh?" She was caught off guard by his comment, and could only look at the Monster blankly before the question sunk in. While she had never been described as 'tiny' before, she was on the shorter side for a Demoness... She was told by her mother that it had something to do with the origins of her kind, but that was an old story and she couldn't recall it. Then again...

"I'm not tiny, G! You're big!" Lizzy giggled, raising an eye brow, clearly bemused, "So I look small to you!"
