Uzume Shrine
Running away from the plains for it is full of flesh eaters, you reach a shrine which seems to have Holy Aura that keeps monsters away. You walk through the red Torri gate that had fox statues that it's eyes seemed to glow, then when you reached the main courtyard you see a few pilgrims and travellers saying prayers in the main hall. Then, a beautiful preistess in a simple Miko outfit with a pretty red umbrella and eyes that seemed to glow with the sun greets you, "Oideyasu~! Welcome to the Uzumi Shrine,the shrine of the moon/happiness godess Uzume". The Miko bows to you and says "Would you like like to take a rest?"
Uzume Shrine is a shrine hidden in the plains south west of swampy forest, south of Ako city, and north of Kemuri Vilage. The shrine is perfeclty placed between these areas, its often popular against travellers and a like to come here rest and say prayers. The shrine is also a safety haven from monsters, for the shrine is protected by holy aura made by 1,000 ancient shinto paper writtings.

How to Pray in Shinto
First, you go infront of the honden (or the main building). The honden is where our kami resides, the kami that lives here is Uzume (moon/happiness godess). Uzume was famous for dancing half naked on top of a rock to let Ametarasu (sun godess) out of her cave. The rock Uzume stepped on is inside, it has a grey glow becuase it was touched by the godess uzumi. It has holy power that also helps protect the shrine.
Infront of the honden, there is a box like figure where you throw the coin into the box covered by wood that are placed sideways so only the coin could get in. After that, you clap your hands twice and pray. Then, after you pray, you clap your hands three times, then bow. simple, ne?

Hakone can only take 4 Miko (priestess) for training, just pm me with an application form that should look like this.

Hakone sweeps the courtyard in silence. "It seems that the opening of the shrine will be quiet.." she thought while sweeping. The shrine was veyr quiete, you can only hear the sound of the brids and flowing water from the purification fountain. Nothing else to do, she decided to pratice her kyudo, for she has not trained enough fro archer that she cant't aim at somthing thats in the dakr forest, but cna perfeclty aim something she can see clearly. Hakone aims at the target, and shoots then the arrow hit the middle of the target shoot.

The venture across the plains wasn't as easy as he thought it would be...A wild bunch of what he thought were men attacked by rising from the ground.
"...stop!" unsheathing his sword from his back...."Stop! or i will cut you down!" but they paid no heed to his warning, no swords... no armor...and flesh missing from thier rotting bodies...jagged teeth and claws that rivaled his own..."Stop!" he demanded and stabbed the first one through what remained of its gut. Its cold dead eye, the other was indeed gone, but something remained in the socket...stare at rajim, and with an unlocking jaw wrapped its fangs into his shoulder. The teeth were like razors biting deep, and only seem to hold tighter, Rajim drew his second sword from his side and with a clean swip took the beasts head which remained clasped to his shoulder.
another was coming, this one not as stable as the first it limped towards him, while he pried off the severed head. just as it grew close enough to bite, he used both swords, starting at its waist and coming free at its shoulders...sheer desperation. turning as another grasp his other arm, its claws tearing away it his flesh. "dammit!" his sword sang as it claimed another, but his left arm to him was garbage now...and he couldn't lift his sword...he edged back trying to buy some space...and let his demon heal his wounds. "if you want me, come!...I will be no easy prize" turning to see that several more arose from the very ground.
"then again..."
He battled bringing down four more but they were really hard to keep down, and some just kept getting up...even without a head. it seem hopeless...A rage grew from inside...And he couldn't stop it...couldn't control it. It was his demon half..."n-No!..." he fell to a knee..."Not now...i don't need you!!!" The pain...the burning grew to the point where his darker half escaped. And Rajim was no more... The flesheaters tried to take this demon, but every one of them was torn piece from piece...No mouth to scream, no eyes to cry...only carnage...and pain. When the madness was over the demon ventured south in search of man flesh. but as it walked calmly defiant of all elements in this region...couldn't go any farther south. A wall...of air it seem, an invisible barrier wouldn't allow "it" to pass...
It fade back into rajim...and finally was allowed to pass through the barrier...and there, Rajim lay...broken and defeated...

After finishing her Kyudo pratice in the east hall of the shrine, she went back to the main courtyard when he saw near the torii gate a man lying in the ground. In hurry, she dropped her bow and arrow and run to the man, Hakone was calm, she looked at the man's face and saw scars. "This is from the flesh eaters, I had the same bruise myself in my leg", she carried the man to the east hall into one of the rooms. Hakone then bandaged the man's bruises and put a warm towel on his head so he can relax and rest. "Poor man", Hakone said "This man must have been from the swampy forests." Hakone opened the window of the room, then left into the main hall to pray for the man, then she prepeared sushi and misou soup with tea and went back to the room then placed beside the man, then went on the west hall on one of the rooms to pray for the man.

"so it seems here that i have fallen yet again. My demon half grows even stronger now...I am going to lose my sanity and become the beast...I will die in this land...so far from home, without any aid, i am already dead. The wars will continue long after i lose my inner battle, i lose my soul...am i ready to just lay down and die? is everything i've done going to mean nothing when my demon awakens again and reign down fire and torment to those who do not deserve to die...by my hands...I'm scared, terrified at this is over already before i even really had a chance to show...mercy?"

slowly...the world came back into picture...the colors seem brighter then normal...the air seem softer, had he already died? and was now where he would meet his grandfathers? seemed fairly believable...but was there hunger in the great beyond? a sense of realief wash over him as he picked up the cup of warm tea, too tired to eat the sushi but it looked tempting, managed to chew down most of it...the soup he mearly drank from the bowl. staring into the bowl he could see himself, hurt but there...he always had trouble looking at himself...his fangs stood out, his features different to most of the men and women he had seen in Ako. was he there? his senses came back, and most of his strength...managed to pull himself to his feet. swords gone...most of his clothing had been torn to ribbons...the scars had already faded from his face and he looked almost like he did when he cared more...he sniffed the air..."a woman has been here...where am i?" gathering his strength, he went to the open window...and stared out seeing a beauty he never could imagine...
"am i dead?"
finding his way outside, he learned that he was surely not in Ako. In fact he was actually heading in the right direction... searching this shrine high and low..." Hello?!" from wing to wing....top to bottom back and front..."hello!..." silence replied..."i'm alone" he felt like he had to leave something behind for the woman who he believed saved him...but time always seemed againts him. He left a small note with two words printed on it. it said: "thank you"
and he continued south, where he sought out a ninja he first met when he arrived there...back to Kemuri

Praying and meditating for hours, Hakone got up and left the room in the west hall. She then went to the main courtyard when she saw a note in the main hall saying the words "thank you". Thinking of who it might be, she ran towards the east hall and on one of the room she saw the food was untouched yet the man was not terhe anymore. Worried becuase the man's woudns has not been fully healed, and also Hakone cannot leave the shrine fro it would be alone. Hakone couldn't do much, so she just said a short prayer to the man who left in the honden and then went to clean the purification fountain.

It has been a week since hakone started living in the shrine as a miko,. It has been soo quiet, peacefull, and tranquill in the shrine. There is enough food from the poulty/garden at the back of the shrine, and its a safety haven from monsters. Although hakone lvoe the life of peace and tranquil, sometimes she misses her life travelling around Nippon, she really wnats to continue her travel to kemuri village and the uncharted terretories, yet she promised that she will remain in the shrine until isomeone else can take care of it for a short while. Hakone does daily things repeatedly, wake-up in the morning, do morning prayers, clean the courtyard, feed the poultry, water the gardens, have lunch, medittaing hour, kyudo pratice, supper, then dance rituals at nght. She has been living a quiet life, she hopes to find soon girls willing to be her miko apprentice so she can have someone to talk to in the shrine.

Hakone, still living in peace, noticed that birds where migrating in the shrine.
Birds that are miggrating usually means because of a weathers, storm, or something bad happening. Hakone only has one connection to the north whihc is the swamp area, she decided to write a letter to the master stating "The birds are miggrating in my shrine, is there something going on? These birds are coming in the shrine. Is there a terrible strom? I you can tell me any information, please I would be glad for I have been isolated in this shrine with no information what's going on in the north." Then, Hakone wrote her name bellow the letter and sent one of the birds the letter to the dojo. ((moving to dojo thread for the bird))

The bird then left the dojo with the message, it wnet flying back to the shrien as fats as it can. Then it finally got the messsage to Hakone, upon reaidng the letter, she wish she could do something, but she cannot leave the shrine for it needs someone to tend to and make sure the holy aura will keep it strong by meditating. Hakone had an idea, she then took out her jade flute (which she now keeps, but doesn't use as a weapon anymore) and called for all the eagles who has stayed in her shrine. She told the eagles to go to the swamp and help fight the ratlings, you shall take orders to the master. Eagles I have helped you be safe in this shrine now will you do this favour to me? So, the eagles went off flying towards the swampy forest, about 20 went. Hakone could not do much, so she went to the main hall and prayed for each of her friends.

Hakone, last night met a young girl named Yuki who willinlgy accepted she would become Hakone's apprentcie miko. She would teahc Yuki things about shinto, like the godess uzume, proper miko manners, prayers etc. Worried about the battle in the swamp, she held dance rituals ceremonies at night, wher eshe would dance to the godess uzume to keep Takara and the others out of harm. Yuki would play the ritual bells while hakone would dance with a golden fan. Yuki and Hakone both now live in the Uzume shrine at peace, and hopeflly keep it that way.

Hakone has just got a miko apprentice. Today is the start of the miko training, she shows Yuki dance steps for the dance rituakls. "Okay Yuki, you go left forwards open your fan, then twirl..." Hakone thaught Yuki the dance moves over and over again. Hakone also thaught Yuki Kyudo. One day, hakone said to yuki, "Would you like to practice Kyudo with me?" asked Hakone, "It is improtamnt for us to pratice, although thsi shrine is protected by Holy Aura, there might be a time when too many monsters come invading this place that we will trap here forever. It is improtant for us to pratice our fighting and miko pwoers."

The shrine recently have been visited by alot of travellers/pilgrims who were running away from swampy forest because of the war. "Priestess Hakone!", almost every minute she would hear someone call her fomr one of the traveller who where injured or needed help. Hakone everyday had to feed the recent group of travellers that came recently, she would prya for them, and aid the injured and hurt. "This war must be over as soon as possible, too many innocent people have been hurt, I trust on the master and hopefully he and the otehr will defeat thioe ratlings" Hakone thought. "I wonder where's Yuki.." she said to herself, "She must be doing somethgin esle, must not botehr her" she said while Hakone sighed. "Something inside me has an urge of going to the war, but I can't leave the shrine yet for Yuki does not have proper and complete training from me yet. "Wish someone like a monk could look out the shrine" Hakone said while she tends the injured.
