The Booth

It's a haphazard looking table really, not a booth. It looks like it was dragged out of the reject closet and one leg had to be propped up on a school book to even it out.

As you near it, you spot a little sign that says "One button and one piece of candy per student!"

Goals
  • Try to turn away elitist 'cliques', equalize students.
  • Bring the personals board back -- without punishment!
  • More social events that can bring the students together!
  • Better quality desks and tables in the classrooms (though Rain kinda likes hers rotting through and through).
  • More minipets!
  • Destruction of the Princess Corner. (Ok, this isn't likely to happen..)
  • Take student opinions and complaints into consideration!
  • Have fun!

Rain hoped she made enough buttons as she poured them out onto a haphazard looking table. Should she have put "For President" somewhere on there? Oh well, it was a little too late for that now. She did however think that the candy was a nice touch. It wasn't as fancy as Kasumi's booth, but Rain was a simple ghoul.

She was stationed right outside of the cafeteria. She had stolen a couple brain muffins to nibble on throughout her mini campaign. The last thing she wanted to do was go into a frenzy in front of everyone! She was a little sad to be missing lunch though. It was her favorite part of the day but free time was something she didn't have much off these days.

Students were always coming and going here. It was the best time to catch most of them.

"My name is Rain Rottingham and I'm running for student council president. I would really appreciate your votes and support, my fellow ghouls and boils! You might ask why? Well, that's a good question!" She paused briefly, she was so nervous!

"I plan to bring unity to the students! No more shall undead be stepped on, no more shall the ghosts be disrespected, no more shall the demons be frowned upon, no more shall the monsters be disregarded, and no more shall the reapers be ignored! We are all ostracized by the other groups to some extent, it has been this way for generations. I say, it's been TOO LONG. I say, it's time to really unite as races, at least under the roof of this school. I say, it's time for everyone to be treated equally and most of all, I think the teachers need to treat us with more respect!"

She was really getting worked up now. She was beginning to pace in front of the table, arms moving about as she spoke. "We outnumber them. I'm not saying we should mutiny, no. The professors deserve our respect but I think we deserve a little back. I think this is our chance to fix some of our problems, to better the school, to make our mark, TO CHANGE THINGS FOR THE FUTURE GENERATION OF STUDENTS! Vote for me and we can try to make a difference! We shouldn't have students falling through holes in the floor, desks that crack and want to break when we sit in them. We deserve better than this!"

She tapped a finger against her chin momentarily before continuing, "The personal boards were harmless. Many of us received detention over it, and it was horrible! I think we should bring the personal board back, without punishment! Why should our right to find romance be taken away? Punished for? We are young, we are being denied a right of passage that is part of our transition into growing up! We should take back our rights as students. I also believe we should socialize more. More parties, more events! What better way to bring all the races of students together than socializing? In an nutshell, boils and ghouls, we need to have fun! Vote for me and I will strive hard to make this school a more enjoyable experience for ALL THE RACES!"

She was so excited that she scaled up the nearest wall and flipped down to the ground. She was excited and proud of herself for at least attempting this. She wasn't sure many other zombies had. Even if she didn't win, this was a giant leap for her zombie kind and she was tickled blue about it!

(( Assuming it's alright to post now...if not, sorry! >u
Amrita was wandering the halls aimlessly, her heels dragging heavily on the floor, lost in her own world for the most part. She really had no interest in any one or anything...right up until a fellow Undead girl started talking. An Undead? Running for something as important as Student Council? Well, that had her attention! Backing up a bit as to not get in anyone's way, she stared at the girl - whose name was apparently Rain - and listened.

She liked what she heard! Really, really liked it. It was relevant to her interests! It was something she dealt with every day! Granted half of the worries were sitting in her own rotted head, but still! And that FLIP! This Rain girl was quickly becoming one of Amrita's favourite ghoul ever!

Once she was able too, she shuffled over, her gray eye wide in awe.

"I am going to vote for you." She confided with complete honesty; How could she not?! "Um...M-may I have one?" A dark, reversed hand pointed awkwardly down at one of the buttons. She at least wanted one of those, incase her memory failed!

Junko had been on her way to get food for Her when she came across the little booth that looked like it could use a little more love, but there was a ghoul there as well introducing herself! But why--ooooh, right! Student council! Sin had been nice enough to send her a note asking if she'd support her and someone named 'G', whoever that was. She stopped to watch and listen, her eyes widening and a tiny gasp escaping her. Wow! She really liked this girl's conviction! Unite the races in the school? That sounded easy enough, she was already meeting so many different kinds of people! Ghosts and reapers and demons...change was always fun! What was the personal boards? Junko blinked and tilted her head at that. R-romance? Oh my! Who would punish someone for trying to find their Mr. or Miss Right?! That was just cruel!

If the speech wasn't enough, and it really was more than enough, the flip really impressed her. About halfway through Rain's speech Junko was totally ready to vote for her, but the flip really added that nice finishing touch. And Rain seemed so genuinely nice, she didn't seem like she was lying or making anything up to tell people what they wanted to hear at all!

"That was amazing! I'll vote for you too!" Junko giggled, following another ghoul to the table and looking down at the buttons and the candy. The candy would definitely do to keep Her quiet and happy for awhile, and the button had the most adorable picture of Rain on it! And Sin had given her buttons as well, so why not get buttons from everyone she was going to vote for so she didn't panic at the last second and forget who she wanted under the pressure or picking the right person? "May I have one as well?" She asked, looking over the selection of buttons. Hmm? That ghoul's hand seemed a bit close to her for it to be that particula--ohgoodnessherhandswerebackwards! Junko didn't make a noise but her eyes did widen, quickly looking at another button instead. She wasn't judging but that was something she'd never seen before! She was already helping herself to a piece of candy, picking up one lollipop with a bit of Junko's hair.

Rain was shocked to see someone interested already, and doubly shocked to see that it was an undead ghoul like herself!

"I've never seen you before," Rain commented honestly. She took a moment to look at the ghoul before her. "Wow, you look really neat!" She had never seen anything like this ghoul before! Her hands and feet were backwards. Backwards! But she was animated, alive. How was that so? "You are so pretty too," she added and it was true. Despite having a partial skeleton face, Rain saw very pretty features in the ghoul before her and even the skeletal part made her pretty. Of course, Rain was a zombie and her opinions often reflected that but she had never seen anything quite as unique before. This ghoul defied anything Rain had thought as normal and she liked it. A lot.

"Of course you can have one! We have candy and buttons alike. Oh, I almost forgot!" Quickly, she picked up the envelope she had been given anonymously earlier that morning. Someone had slipped it under her door. She thought it would contain some kind of insult, or threat to step back from running but was surprised to find buttons inside. She had almost forgotten about them!

She spread them out on the table along with the others. "You are welcome to whichever ones you like. We should be in the same dorm, we should hang out sometime!"

Rain was flabbergasted when another ghoul showed her support. This was was a monster to boot! A monster! Though monsters and zombies were often tossed in the same skeletal boat for being undesirable races in general, it was still surprising to Rain. So far, no one questioned her for running or ridiculed her but it was still early yet. She was sure she'd have been bullied out long before now.

"Of course you can have one, too! I'm Rain." Rain smiled and offered out a hand to both girls. Shaking Amrita's hand was somewhat awkward but Rain just found it all the more exciting. Even the most basic of experiences would be new and exciting with this ghoul.

The monster was very pretty, perhaps the prettiest monster that she had ever seen. She was thankful that she was not a reaper. It wasn't that Rain had anything against Reapers. She really wanted to equalize the school. Reapers were just.. they smelled so damn good and she really just wanted to jump on them and eat them. That was not allowed though and she could control herself but the desire was always there, a gentle yearning whenever she was around one of the reapers. She didn't feel that with this monster.

"It's a pleasure to meet you both! And thank you, so much!"

You have no idea how happy you have made me, she silently added. She was a success. Even if she lost, she was a success! She was running for student council president, she had support! This was the best day of her unlife!

Well well well! Someone had happily set up a table over here! And oh what a table it was, Shehk looking over it with some happy appraisal (and seeming to perk up ever so slightly when she saw the buttons she'd made...not that she was going to get too into that 'LOOK WHAT I DID' stuff), just watching as Rain went into her ever so epic-dramatic-speech. It really was quite the speech. Hell, wasn't it what most of the students wanted? To stop having to be haters-gonna-hate with each other?

In fact, Shehk was even so inclined to give Rain a small round-of-applause before she looked over the table, chuckling at the assortment of buttons and even some candy. The candy wasn't as interesting to Shehk (unless she wanted to be in a world of pain later), before grabbing up one of the simple 'VOTE RAIN' pins and fastening it onto her bag next to a 'v0w0v' 'Money is Green too' and a ...pin that was obviously pinned on the INSIDE of her bag to keep anybody from seeing it. She'd probably have made an annoyed face if she was asked about it.

...
......

Because really, it was probably a 'NUKPANA NEEDS MAKEOUTS' pin.

The one with the little face was just too cute! Maybe she'd take that one. Junko smiled when Rain introduced herself again, reaching over to take her hand and give it a gentle shake when it was free. "It's very nice to meet you! I'm Junko." Luckily She was too preoccupied with the lollipop to need an unwelcome introduction, sucking and licking at it quite obnoxiously. Junko was doing her best not to notice. Junko picked up the little 'FTW' button with Rain's face drawn on it and pinned it to her kimono, putting it on her obi where it would probably be the safest. She glanced at the bag of another girl who was fastening a button on, adding to a collection she already had. Aw, man! She should've worn the buttons Sin gave her too! She'd just go back to get them after getting some more food and put those on right away! But that was odd...there was the pin, but where was the button? She recognized this girl's face though...but where...? "...Oh! Hi! You're the girl on the posters, aren't you?" Ah ha! So she was the girl!

Oh, speaking of pictures and posters! Junko turned back to Rain with curiosity. "You mentioned students got in trouble for a...personals board?" Junko blinked and tilted her head. She'd missed this board! "Did the teachers not like it?" That seemed odd! Maybe unless someone put something offensive up! But that didn't sound offensive at all! How unfair.

Rain waved to Shehk as she came by her table for a visit. Had she met the backwards undead ghoul yet? It was nice how quickly their dorm was growing! Did the undead ghouls outnumber the boils yet? Would be nice if they ruled their dorm.

It looked like Shehk had a lot of buttons but that wasn't much of a surprise. She considered Shehk to be one of the most popular ghouls in school, but the thing was, she was really nice about her popularity. She didn't wave it around like a badge. She was always so friendly as far as she saw, unless someone gave her lip. Rain really admired that ghoul.

Rain turned her attention back to Junko, "I still don't know why we got in trouble. The masque was coming up then and there was a personals board put up. As far as I know, no student was behind the board. It was to look for partners for the dance, really innocent, but everyone that put their card up on the board got detention. And not just any detention, most of us were sent to clean a bathroom," Rain paused to shudder visibly at this, "I never cleaned so much in my life and it was very.. disgusting and dirty. Layers of well, you can imagine. On the floors, on the walls, everywhere! And that wasn't all! There was a monster that we had to fight and most of us probably wouldn't have made it if the other detention students hadn't come to help. It was awful. All over what, trying to find a partner for a dance? Or a boyfriend? Or just someone to share your interests with? It wasn't fair or right at all." The situation still heated Rain up. There wasn't a lot that could actually make her angry but the bathroom experience was still a sore spot with her and thus, an exception.

"....Poster?"

Shehk seemed to make a visibly puzzled face.... and then it seemed the wheels in her head were turning as her ears slooowwwwlllly drooped. She hadn't seen the 'poster', but she had a feeling she knew exactly who was behind any poster with her face on it. Which meant

a) she needed to find this poster to see for herself

and

b) She needed to go kick a certain skinwalker in the shins.

...after she finished shuddering from the tale of woe that Rain was regaling with, settling for sitting on the edge of her campaign table. "Man, that whole thing was pretty dumb. I still kick a gnome whenever I see them after that incident. It was that bad." she frowned, before offering her own hand to Junko.

"Nice to meet you~"... and another pause to look to the smaller undead at the table immediately prompted Shehk to sit up just a little bit straighter, almost tempted to immediately Fabreeze. BE GOOD, BE GOOD, BE GOOD. It was a quirk she was having to work out.. which mostly turned into a 'I wear air-fresheners' on her part.

"Ha ha! I'm sure all of our dorm will vote for you, Rain. How could we not? We gotta represent!" Fistpump. "And really, it's a good first step."
PostPosted: Sun Oct 17, 2010 12:14 pm

Clean...a bathroom? That didn't sound so ba--nevermind that sounded like the most disgusting thing imaginable. Junko's eyes widened and she just stared at Rain in shock and horror, the things she was imagining probably not even doing the atrocities justice. How could they do that?! That wasn't even fair, especially if it was one of the staff who put it up in the first place! Junko would like to see this board, but now she'd be afraid to even go near it in case just being in its presence would get her in trouble! "You're right! That's definitely not fair! And it sounds really dangerous too!" Was it some kind of test of their FEAR or something? That was an awful way to go about it! And this other girl had been involved as well? She didn't seem to know about this poster though. How could she not know? Her face was on it! "You were there too? That's just awful! I haven't seen any gnomes yet...I'm very sorry to hear that happened to you two."

She smiled and accepted the offered hand, giving it a gentle shake. "Nice to meet you too! I'm Junko...and yes...the posters? It's umm..'Vote for'..." What had the name been? It was a name she'd never seen before, she just hoped she would be saying it right. "Nuck-pana? He's running for public relations? Your face is on the poster though..." Something about making out with her. Oh! Was he this ghoul's boyfriend? How cute! But then why wouldn't she know about the poster? And why would he need a poster saying to vote for him so he could make out with her?

...Yeah it didn't make sense.

Junko giggled at the undead group's enthusiasm, clapping her hands and bouncing on her toes a little. It was so exciting to see races band together, especially those of the same race! Such camaraderie! Why couldn't she have that kind of bond with Her? Sigh. Oh, but maybe she should also be finding more monsters to vote for as well if that was the case. Hmm! "I wish you the best of luck, Rain~!"

Shine smelled candy.

She smiled at the thought of sweets, sniffled, and curiously began to wander towards the scent's origin. Maybe it was a huge pile of candy, completely unclaimed, just waiting for her. Or, if it did belong to someone...maybe they'd share!

Arriving at the tail end of the speech, she hung back, a little overwhelmed by the excitement. The other ghoul seemed so passionate and invested in her cause! Shine had to admire that; she wasn't sure that she could be in such a position, especially considering how many people were gathering around the ghoul. So much attention! What would happen if she messed up? Oh, dear.

Shine was fidgeting by the time she made it up to the table, made nervous by her worries over hypotheticals. The pins seemed to indicate that this was Rain. She liked that name. And there - lollipops! Candy! Thrilled, she plucked one up, taking only one just like the sign asked.

Finally confident enough to meet Rain, she walked to her side, reaching up to tug on her hoodie. Just before her pointed fingers reached the navy fabric, she pulled them back, frowning. Sometimes her hands were scary. She didn't want to scare Rain. Instead, she opted for a soft "Hello," accompanied by a timid wave.

"I think I'm licking your face..." she continued shyly, holding the lollipop up next to Rain's face for comparison. Yep. She was.
PostPosted: Sun Oct 17, 2010 11:46 pm

Amrita nodded in agreement; this ghoul was a stranger to her as well, but she was okay with that! She seemed surprised when she was told she was neat; really? She was pretty sure she was quite the opposite. Still, she smiled with what was left of her lips, taking a moment to shyly play with some of hair. "Thank you!" She piped up happily, wiggling a little bit in joy. She was told she was a lot of things - but pretty was never one of them! Coming from a fellow undead - and intact bodied one at that! - she was overjoyed. "You are very very pretty too..." Then in a much quiet voice; "And very brave."

"Thank you." Looking mighty pleased, Amrita reached out and took a bat candy, and one of the original 'Vote Rain' pins. She liked the colours of the new ones, but...having something with a face and the name just seemed like a much better idea to her. She didn't trust her frequently self-erasing whiteboard memory.

"Thank you." She murmured, unaware she had repeated herself while holding her one candy and one button, unable to stop smiling. "I would like that very much! Um, I'm Amrita. It's nice to meet you." There was a quick glance cast to the Monster girl, and her smile fell to a more nervous line, looking down pretty quickly to focus on pinning the button to her sari. A difficult task on it's own!

Once the pin was on, her proud grin returned and she looked up, staring at Rain to the other two Undeads; they were all so very pretty! She wanted to say hi to them, but there was a Monster here too. She had a strict rule about not talking to anyone but the undead unless they spoke to her first, but it would be rude to ignore her...and it would go against her rule to not ignore her. What a situation!

So, with a smile at Rain and the others crowding the booth (including a tiny one for the Monster!), she turned to leave, offering a quick 'Thank you, see you around!' before she made her exit.

Junko watched as the little undead girl, who was suddenly very excited, suddenly got...so shy and left? Huh! She waved politely to her as she left, fiddling with the pin she had taken from Rain's collection. Well! Rain definitely had her vote! She saw another ghoul walk up to the blue one and compare lollipops to her face, holding the lollipop She was eating out to get a good look at it. Oh, this one was a bat. Not Rain's face.

...It wasn't enough to satisfy Her! "Inside. Now." She commanded Junko, quickly reminding her why they were even near the creepateria in the first place! They'd come for food for Her!

"Well it was nice to meet you both! I'll definitely be voting for you, Rain!" Junko called as she hurried into the creepateria lest she incur Her wrath for being too slow. The last thing Junko needed was a lollipop caught up in her hair.
