The little Vetala was enjoying herself immensely. She had met some people, talked to Monsters! Monsters! This was an incredible thing for her. She was under the impression that they were the scarier-than-thou type, but they seemed like decent enough creatures. Which was good, really. It made everything so much easier! Unlife was fantastic.
Unfortunately, these thoughts made it very difficult to focus on the book she was trying to read, and after a fourth and fifth attempt to retain and remember the last sentence, Amrita gave up to instead go for a walk. Walks required only a small amount of thinking, but the practice in coordination was always great. She had gotten too used to forward facing feet; she was stuck in this awkward body, she might as well master it like it was her true form.
The book put away, Rita stood from her desk and shuffled out her door, dragging her heels stiffly across the floor on her way outside. As soon as the air hit her, she looked around slowly to make sure she was alone; good, the place was empty. Amrita leaned back to stand on her toes for a moment, her reversed hands out a bit at her sides for balance while she tried to walk like everyone else. Slowly shuffling on the pathway leading away from the dorm, the thought never crossed her rotted mind that not all of her Dormmates had windowless rooms.

Valentino was looking outside his window, wondering why he was so bored today. He was stuck, sitting around, reading for literature class and watching the blood splatters dry. He had spent the last three days in this lethargic state, he just wanted something interesting to happen to him. As the wish crossed his mind, lo and behold, the single most interesting thing he could have wished for, walked by his window.
"Her hands! Her feet! Her opposable thumbs!" Valentino exclaimed to the collective tools gathered around his lab. He would have broke into song, but his musical abilities were on par with tone-deaf cat. Instead he hastily gathered his bag and stuffed as many measuring tools as he could into it. He was going to study that girl, as long as he could catch up to her.
Running out of his room, slamming the door, and trying to button his lab-coat, Valentino raced out of the dorm. He barely dodged three students and a squirrel outside while approaching shouting range, "You, with the limbs!" He shouted. "No, not you!" he angry yelled at the quizzical tentacle monster, "Backward limbs girl, Wait for me!"

Amrita was steadily heading away from the dorms, quite unaware of the little frenzy she seemed to induce. She started humming to herself, still trying to walk on her toes. It was hard, she tripped a couple times, but she was getting the hang of it. Soon the exercise started to get a little dull so she slumped back down, shuffling along as she naturally did.
At first, the yell didn't catch her attention; there were a lot of limbed creatures here. In fact, everyone had them! She was off in her own little world, wondering what to do now that she was out anyway. The second cry did get her attention; she was pretty sure the yelling voice was for her now. She didn't know any other ghouls with backwards limbs. Curious, she stopped and looked over her shoulder; accidentally turning her skull face towards the voice. Oops!
"Okay." She said simply, turning the other way to look at him over her shoulder with a quizzically wide gray eye. Nobody really went out of their way to get her attention, so that only really meant one thing: "Did I drop something?"

Valentino was trying to apologize the the thin skinned tentacle monster. Apparently the monster disliked the fact that his only distinctive identifier at the school was his multiple appendages. After reassuring the tentacle monster that the first thing Valentino noticed was the monster's eyes, Valentino widened his smile as he saw that the girl was looking at him. Her eyes eye was Grey! it was a clear sign that nothing about her was ordinary.
Valentino shook the tentacle monster's... tentacle and made a mental note to dip his hand in bleach at the next chance he got. Valentino and things that could eat him never got along.
Now that he had stopped the girl, he wasn't going to waste any time. He took out his measuring tape and starting rummaging through his bag, "something was dropped?" he asked as he looked at her feet.
"Would you hold still for a minute?" He asked. His small talk was inadequate for the situation, so instead he leaned down and unwound his tape, staring at her feet.

"...I...I don't know?" Amrita was starting to fret now. Why was he calling out to her, if she didn't drop something? The Vetala, currently trapped in a child's body, had to look up at the stranger in the lab coat; but she didn't stare for long. Soon enough her natural hesitation and shy nature got the best of her and her eye turned to look at something in the distance to her right, though she didn't tilt her head away.
"Uhh...O-okay?" Amrita agreed, looking at him again - or rather, the tape in his hand. As she was told she was standing still, at least her body was. Her head tilted to follow his gaze to her feet, her eye wide and her lips pressed in a confused line.
"What...are you doing?" She asked a small voice, followed shortly by: "What is that?" that was mostly directed at his tape...or at least some of the tools she saw peeking out here and there.
