So the other day I was thinking about the different outlooks and opinions on evil, and also some of the opinions and outlooks on good that come with that. That made me wonder about what everyone else here in this lovely guild thought 4laugh
What is your outlook onconcept good/evil? Is it black and white, or are there gray areas? That is, do you think that someone or something (spirit, deities, etc) can be wholy good or wholy evil? Or do you think these people, spirits, deities, etc, encompass both? I've heard some people say they do not believe in evil at all, because as long as someone or something has some good, it cannot be wholy evil, therefore it isn't evil (or something along those lines).
As far as evil goes, how do you handle something or someone if you believe that something or someone is evil? For example, I've heard some people say that they do not give evil a name, because that would give it power.
That leads me to ask; was your outlook on the concept of good and evil shaped by your path or religion, or by something else?

for me:
Actions that are in like with Agape are good, Actions that deviate from Agape are evil.
If in a situation where any action will deviate from Agape, I use my best judgement to choose will deviate less from Agape and take responsibility for the consequences of my choices and try by best to repair whatever damage I cause.

Good and evil are not things. They're essentially just terms that indicate whether something is in line with or opposed to our own moral systems, opinions and personal well-being.

Indeed, good and evil are just concepts that allow us to define what we think under our own views (morals, opinions etc.)

That's part of what I'm trying to get at. To better phrase it then, I'm trying to find out other peoples' definitions of evil.
