Hiroshi has been best friends with a girl ever since kindergarden, and as the years progressed, he has been getting more and more comfortable around her, and soon develops a little crush on her. Later during high school, she falls in love with someone else, and becomes his girlfriend. Hiroshi doesn't really like that, but just goes along with it. A few years after high school, Jake, her boyfriend, proposes to her, and she accepts. Now of course, Hiroshi is really heartbroken, and doesn't know what to do. He thinks if he tells her, she will just get upset and not talk to him anymore, but he feels as if he needs to confess his feelings. How will this end? Alex yawned and woke up beside her husband-to-be Jake. She looked at her clock. It was 5:30 in the morning. What would he do at a time like this? Go jogging. So she got up tiredly and got dressed in a sports bra, shorts, and her running shoes. The only problem with this was that it was winter and she was running at 5:30 in the morning in a sports bra and shorts. She would definitely be cold. But she shrugged and went outside.

Hiroshi woke up around the same time as well(weird huh?). He walked outside with his robe on and got the newspaper. As he looked back up, he saw Alex running around. He quickly started blushing but shook it off, hoping she didn't see it.

Alex smiled and waved at Hiroshi. "Hey, Hiroshi. What are you doing up so early?" she asked, walking over to him.

He started blushing a bit more slightly, but did his best to hide it. He smiled at her. "Hey Alex. Nothing just went to get the paper."

"I see" Alex giggled and looked at his cheeks. "Do you have a fever?" she touched one cheek lightly and realized how cold she actually was.

Hiroshi shook his head. "No, I don't have a fever." he said as he looked at her. "Are you okay?" he asked as he moved a bit closer to her.

"Just a little cold. That's all" Alex wrapped her arms around herself and smiled at him. "Jake wants to move to England after we get married, you know. It sounds fun" she smiled again and looked up at the sunset. "Look, the sunset..."

Hiroshi nodded, feeling a bit disapointed about her moving so far away. He then looked at the sunrise and nodded. "Yeah, it does look pretty." he said smiling a bit, but in the inside, he was hurting.

"That reminds me" Alex said, tapping her chin. "I should probably get going on finding that cake." She smiled at Hiroshi again, hugging him quickly before walking back into her house to go get changed.

Hiroshi blushed a bit and smiled at her. "Good luck." he said to her before she left. He walked back inside, no longer feeling good. He sat down on the couch, feeling pretty bad about himself. He remembered the night when Jake proposed to Alex, and he felt his heart completely sink. He really wanted to tell her about his feelings, but he thinks that he is too late now, thinking that no matter what he told her, she would not accept.

Alex got changed after she took a shower and made something quick for breakfast for her to eat. She sat down at the table and ate her toast while calling some of her girl friends. Maybe she could include Hiroshi on the cake trip. After she finished up, she walked over to Hiroshi's house and knocked on the door.
