 Welcome! To ASTRONOMY!

At hogwarts: Astronomy is the only field of study at Hogwarts that has a direct equivalent in the Muggle world. Astronomy classes take place in the Astronomy Tower, the tallest tower in Hogwarts, and are taught by Professor Aurora Sinistra. Lessons involve observations of the night skies with telescopes. No astronomy lessons are shown in the books, but plenty of references to them. However, Rowling describes one of Harry's Astronomy exams in Harry Potter and the Order of the Phoenix. Known student homework activities include learning the names of stars, constellations and planets, and their location, movements, and environments.
The teacher in here, however, shall be none other than Sparrow Byrne
Please do show them respect, for they are, or course, your teacher.***DO NOT EDIT THIS FIRST POST IN ANY WAY!***

Good evening everyone~! My name is Professor Lucia Snow, your new Astronomy professor. I have been informed that your old teacher sadly had to retire. My teaching style is very hands on, no boring lectures [like the ones I've heard Professor Binn's gives]. I hope you enjoy my class, and I look forward to meeting all of you.
Astronomy is a natural science that deals with the study of celestial objects (such as stars, planets, comets, nebulae, star clusters and galaxies) and phenomena that originate outside the Earth's atmosphere (such as the cosmic background radiation). It is concerned with the evolution, physics, chemistry, meteorology, and motion of celestial objects, as well as the formation and development of the universe.
