It was Thursday, meaning Zee had a standing lunch date with her older half brother. However, he had a habit of not showing up or forgetting what day it was, leaving her stood up.
Today was one of those days, where he had completely flaked and she still had no idea if he wasn't going to show at all, or would at an unforgivably late time. She was used to this routine, so even though she was sitting alone at a table in a little cafe near Crystal Academy and it was two hours after he should've shown up, Zee was shuffling school papers and going over class notes. She always brought a book or something to do, but with Zirconia dictating her new schedule, her homework was falling painfully behind and she reveled in this opportunity to catch up on it.
She tapped her pen to the notebook with an accomplished smile, having finished another assignment she was sure was going to be late until now and reached for another sip of her latte before realizing it was empty. She took a breaif moment to ponder ordering another one and trying to squeeze another assignment in before sliding out of her chair and hopping back in line, especially since the nearby high school had been let out by now and she wanted to get ahead of any rush the place was prone to.
