__A quaint, two-story building stands at the edge of the village, accompanied by nothing more than an old cobweb-ridden caravan and a single tree. The windows are clean and clear; and a plain, wooden sign reading, "The Hungry Bear," hangs by the gaping door. As a soft wind blows, the sign sways slightly and lets out a soft creak, disturbing the silence and light flowing from the doorway.

__Upon entering the establishment, one is greeted by nothing but round tables strewn about the room, each with a few of their own chairs. A set of stairs sits in the farthest left corner, leading to a heavily locked door, and a simple, open doorway sits in the farthest right. Between those two marks is a bar with a very large menu placed on the wall. Glasses line themselves on a shelf along the wall as two big barrels disturb the rows with their large size. No one is seated at the tables or the bar, but as it is only morning and just opening for the day, what could one expect?

__The only signs of life seem to be a young Hylian and an Esper. The Esper is fixated intensely at a small hole in the wall, curious as to where it leads and not much caring about his surroundings. The young Hylian herself is focusing on the Menu, a finger on her lip and her other arm across her front. Shifting position slightly, the two potion-sized bottles on her belt clink together.

__"Hey, Mau, stop looking at that hole. Nothing is going to come out," the young Hylian turned to her companion and placed her hands on her waist, lowering her eyelids and pouting, "Do you think eight out of sixteen is good enough? We are pretty low on materials."

__The Esper called Mau finally turned away from the hole and focused his attention at the Hylian, "It's probably good enough for now, it's not like we're expecting a lot of people; are we, Dis? I hope at least someone stops by.. that would be nice." As Mau sat on his rump and positioned his tail, a mouse skittered from the formerly watched hole, prancing into the back room unnoticed.

__Dis picked up a glass and began polishing it with a rag. Grinning, she reassured him, "Don't worry Mau, someone always does! We'll just have to wait and see."

__As Dis turned her attention to the glass in her hand, Mau returned his focus back on the hole in the wall.

The road had been a long one to travel upon this time around, so the sight of the village nearby was quite welcomed indeed. Overnight, the thief and his esper had encountered a small group of stalchildren. While neither were seriously injured, they were both looking rather worse for wear at the moment. The fight had been a little rough, and neither really had the chance to rest because of it.

For now, they went to stop by what appeared to be a pub near the edge of the town. Blade would have to try and find a place to stay later on, but for now this would do.

"Go on. I'll be around," said Vol briefly before flying off elsewhere. Most likely the maonui was going to try and find some food and a place to relax while his pact maker did the same. The village appeared to be a fairly peaceful one so far, so he didn't think they would have much to worry about here. At least that was what he hoped.

Walking on inside, Blade looked around the interior to get a quick feel of the place. So far it seemed there wasn't really any business at the moment, but that was fine seeing how early it was still. He then went on, making his way towards the counter and looked over the menu.

It was early morning, with the sun just having risen in the eastern horizon when Audra walked in the village, her long hair let loose. Unusually, Scathach had decided to accompany her as opposed to hiding in her shadow. A sign creaked and alerted Audra to the presence of a bar.

Walking around, she finally spotted it. The wind breezed past, making the sign creak again. "The Hungry Bear" proclaimed the sign. Audra smiled, amused by its name. At least it was a bar. though it was a little early to be drinking, but she didn't really care anyways. Always good to have a head start. Stepping in, the first thing that caught Audra's eye was the huge menu plastered over on of the walls. Scathach eyed the place with interest, taking note of the Starchild in the corner especially.

As she read the menu, Audra raised an eyebrow. Pumpkin beer, huh? She made her way to the bar, taking note of the dark stranger at the counter, reading the menu. Waving at the somewhat busty barmaid, Audra eyed the wrappings and the brown top with interest. Though who was she to comment, what with her corset and very fitting clothes?

"I'd like to try the pumpkin beer please. And an apple pie if you have that." Audra requested.
"I want some jelly juice. And I'll pick at your pie." rasped the poe. Sighing, Audra added. "And one jelly juice and an extra plate please." She plopped herself down on a bar stool to wait for her drink and food.

When was it to early to drink? Never; was the proper answer to that, and Triton fully intended to make good on his uncouth urges and get himself some delicious liquid fire, despite the early hour. Normally he wouldn't have bothered to waste the gem on it, but it'd been cold last night, he'd been to far out of town..and secretly too lazy..to make it the rest of the way to the lonely looking little in. His silly little shadow hadn't helped the situation much either, if anything making it just that much worse with his damp demeanor. Not that Bastion was ever any real help outside of a quaint parlor trick or two.

Cheerily strolling in to the semi deserted place glad at least to be standing on a floor rather then a dirt path. Even if it was a little sad to see that there were only two guests lingering about the bar. He loved a good crowd; heavy purses, fine ladies. Between the pair of them though, he doubted he'd get so much as a smile let alone anything actually worth getting. Still, maybe if he played his cards right..there could be a possibility of free drinks? Nothing ventured nothing gained, and all that other cookie cutter wisdom. Besides the girl seated at the bar wasn't too terrible to look at, even if the sight of the poe at her side was a tad off-putting..

"You know it's sad that there aren't more early risers in the world, don't you think? Though you don't seem to mind the mornings one bit. Can't say I do either, sunrises are nice after all.." Triton spoke swiftly, joyfully, a warm little smile plastered on his face. He was lying of course, mornings sucked, and if the ground he'd found himself sleeping on had been softer and less chilly he'd have stayed there sleeping straight up until noon. "Plus being early gets you all sort's of things, like space, I imagine this cute little place would be packed if it were any later." Triton was going to make idle chit-chat if it killed him.

Going quite unnoticed by Triton as usual was Bastion, the small muddy clothed poe practically clinging to his master's leg, silently observing from his position near the floor as Triton went on with his chittering. It always amused him so to watch master speak..so silly and loud..though it would have been far more amusing if there'd not been other's about. He would have been better able to enjoy the show had he not been so busy observing the other forms that inhabited this new space.

Dis looked up, surprised at the sudden number of people, and wondered where they all came from. Though as usual, she put on a smile and gave a short wave, "Hello! Welcome, I'm Dis. I'll be getting you whatever you'd like, provided it's in stock and you have the funds."

She grinned and put up the glass. Pointing at the Starchid fixated on the hole in the wall, Dis rolled her eyes, "This is is Mau. If you need some help just ask him." By now Mau had an entire arm in the hole and was feeling around furiously, completely unaware of the newcomers. Dis shook her head, embarrassed.

Focusing her attention to the woman ordering, Dis nervously apologized; shrugging with her hands up, she lets out a sigh, "I'm sorry to say, but I'm afraid we don't have any pies or jelly juice. I'll have your pumpkin beer to you in a minute; though, would you like anything else?" Glancing at the man going on about mornings, she smiled and mentioned to the woman, "Oh, and if you'd like, you can sit at any of the tables. The bar can get a little 'crowded' sometimes."

Dis pulled out a notepad and scribbled on it. Pumpkin Beer, "Sadly, just about everything over 15 Rupees is out. I barely have enough pumpkin left to make another batch of the beer," she let out a deep breath, "So what will everyone be ordering?"

Hearing the door open behind him, Blade glanced behind to see a woman and a man enter separately. They both had a poe esper with them it seemed. The latter seemed to be more of the chatty type too. That wasn't a problem for the most part.

He was about to go ahead and order some stuff for himself, but frowned as Dis said that she was really low on supplies. Well that was a little off-putting, and with another quick glance at the menu, it also limited his options quite a bit. In the back of his mind, he wondered if he might be able to get a bit of 'work' here in regards to that. The thief supposed it would depend on how much she cared of the source of the goods. Or how desperate she was... or some combination of the two.

"I suppose that means there's no coffee then.." he mused. As worn down and somewhat beaten up as he was, he was hoping for something to kick start his energy levels, "If that's the case I'll just take some water and boiled eggs I suppose."

On the plus side, this made for a relatively cheap meal.

Audra raised an eyebrow. "Very well then. Can i have the eggs, some bread and a couple of apples?" She requested.
"I'll have some milk instead then." The poe hissed, sounding disappointed. Audra turned her attention to the newcomer. He stood in the middle of the bar, smiling with a poe clinging to his leg. From his eyes, Audra could tell her was lying through his teeth about liking mornings. Then again, who could blame him? The sun had just barely risen, and she usually was up by this time of day, unless she had a mission the night before.

She sighed at the limitations on the menu and studied the dark stranger. He looked like someone with a seemingly innocuous day job, but what he did at night.. Well, that was another thing altogether. She smirked a little and saw Scathach drift over to the barmaid's esper. Shaking her head slightly, she sighed and studied the bar counter, waiting for her food and drink.

A glance and a raised eyebrow..wonderful..forget smiles..he'd have had better luck squeezing blood from a turnip then getting more then a cursory glance from the pair of em. Ah well, one couldn't say he hadn't tried! "Wait, did you say no beer?" No nothing it sounded like really. Maybe the reason there were no people wasn't because of the fact that it was too early for the birds, maybe it was because the girl who ran the place had run out of..well..judging by the menu, everything worth eating!

"I'm sorry dear, but that there is an absolute travesty. What'd you get robbed or something?" Triton huffed, slumping himself into a chair at one of the many open tables. There'd be no point sitting at the bar if he wasn't gonna be able to catch the silver haired ladies attention. Certainly no point in charming anyone if there was no free meal ticket to be had, pfft not enough in the place to make a meal with. "You know being outta things, that tends to be bad for business." His stomach quietly gnawing on itself reminded him that he hadn't come here expecting excellent service or expensive food, simply something to tide him over and a nice strong drink.

"I suppose though, if you have any of the regular beer left I'll take it, ah..please." He made sure to smile as he said it, being rude to the cute barmaid who owned the place, it'd probably get his drink spit in. Situational manners and all those things..

Bastions attention was completely split, not surprised at Triton's drop in energy, he had been shocked the man'd woken at all this morning. The two espers in the corner though..there was something in that hole..and maybe it was something he wanted? Then again, scary things lived in holes, even in tiny ones..it'd probably be better to leave this 'Mau' to stick his hand in it.

((( I'm very sorry I haven't been able to reply. I was out of town and planned on replying Sunday night when I returned, but an emergency came up so I was unable to. )))

Dis hurriedly began scribbled down the orders, trying to make sure she didn't miss anything. "It'll be just a minute."

__ Lady
_____ Pumpkin Beer
_____ Eggs
_____ Bread
_____ Apples
_____ Milk
__ Lone Guy
_____ Water
_____ Eggs
__ Morning Guy
_____ Beer

As she jotted down the last of the list, she looked over at the 'morning guy'. "I haven't been 'robbed,' someone has just been snacking on my goods. I can't go get many supplies either because I can't pull the wagon and carry it all, it's quite heavy. " When she had said 'someone,' Dis sent a piercing gaze at Mau. He pulled his hand from the hole and whipped around, almost hitting the poor Poe that wandered over. "I knew you'd look at me! I'm not allowed in the back room, so I'm not the one doing it!"

While continuing her little bickering with Mau; something along the lines of, "There's no one else who could be doing it," Dis faced the wall and grabbed two mugs. The small mouse from minutes ago scurried from the back room with a bit of bread and back into the hole completely unnoticed by Dis and Mau. Dis abruptly ended the conversation with a, "We'll talk about it later," not wanting to ignore the visitors, and directed Mau to go fetch water from the pump.

Dis placed one mug at the faucet of the left barrel and another unnoticeably smaller one at the faucet of the right. Looking over her shoulder, she glared at the 'morning guy', "Oh, and business is going just fine," a hint of spite could be found in her tone.

Turning her attention back to the drinks, she flipped the switch of both barrels and let the mugs fill. Placing the pumpkin beer on the counter and holding the other mug in her hand, Dis grabbed a glass of milk and two apples from under the counter. While plastering a smile on her face, Dis handed the woman her milk and apples; then she headed to the table the 'morning man' sat at. She plunked his somewhat smaller mug of regular beer on the table, letting a little spill, and grinned, "There you go! Enjoy."

Before heading to the back room, she went to reassure the male who ordered water and eggs. "Oh, and your water will be here shortly. The eggs will take a minute but you'll get them just as soon as anyone else," and calling behind her to the entire pub she said, "I'll just be a minute! Go ahead and relax."

Her Esper sighed, of course the only thing that would draw her attention away was someone potentially insulting The Hungry Bear. As Mau got up he noticed the Poe nearby, "Oh, hello there." Circling the Esper curiously, he remembered Dis's command and hurried toward the door, shouting behind him, "I've got to go outside, you can come if you'd like!"

((No worries!!))

Nodding to the bartender, Blade went on to take a seat at one of the tables while listening to what the others were saying. A slight grin appeared as he was amused with the thought of the Poe snacking away at Dis's storage. He supposed there was the possibility of the culprit being one or more rats, but he would rather not have that be the case.

Thinking on her predicament, he figured he might be able to help her out one way or another. And being the owner of a tavern, even if it wasn't all that shady at all, there was the chance she'd know a thing or two of Volare. If he couldn't help gather the supplies directly, perhaps Vol would be up to helping with moving the wagon for awhile.

Mulling it over, he quietly awaited for Dis to come back out. As he did, he looked over at the other guests of the pub, idly studying them. The other man looked to be an ordinary traveler. The woman, on the other hand, looked as if she could handle herself rather well.

Audra noticed the morning man slump at a table. So she was right in her assessment that he was not a morning person and had been lying through his teeth. Soft bickering filled the tavern for a while and Audra hid a smile as she noticed a small mouse scampering. It wasn't an uncommon sight at taverns, but it would explain the poor girl's problem. She smiled her thanks at the barmaid and took a sip of the pumpkin beer. It was pretty good, what with the sweetness of pumpkins and the strange bitter taste that was always associated with beer.

Scathach faded out a little to avoid getting hurt but complied when the starchild had asked him to go to fetch water with him. After all, he figured Audra would leave the milk there for him, and he could make it back there pretty quickly. He nodded his acquiescence and followed the starchild.

Audra sighed as the poe floated out with the starchild. Picking up an apple, she bit into it and left the other for the poe. "So," She said as she finished her apple. "Anything of interest happened here of late?" She asked, making her question a little general and open to all. She pulled her long red hair into a loose ponytail to keep it out of her face as she ate.

Ah-yeah, Triton was sure business was going absolutely swimmingly, what with the lack of supplies made up for by the utterly cheerful-adorably busty-barmaid/tavernowner runnin about so happy to serve. Between her and the chubby little Mau thing...The place was a veritable house o' joy n' good times! Pfft..

He really couldn't complain though, he'd take her grin as the warning he was sure it was. He'd known better then to prod her about the place but he'd gone and done it anyways. Nope he'd not bother with that anymore,, he supposed he should have felt lucky to have gotten his tiny pint at all. "Service with a smile, how can I not enjoy!" Triton chirped morosely, taking up the small mug in both hand's and sipping from it gingerly. It didn't taste half bad...at least the girl had decent wares of this sort, he was grateful for that.

The taverngirl's retreating word's had been directed more towards the others as he had exactly what he wanted, and was sure his little drink of happyness would handle all the relaxing he needed. "Mmn?" Triton's lavender gaze shifted from his mug to the redhead, wondering if she was speaking to him. Not directly no, fishing for idle conversation, maybe? But with him? Nah, and besides he didn't have anything particularly interesting to offer up. His mouth was always looking to run though... "Here at the edge of town, in this wonderfully rustic little inn? Nope. Nothing nearly as interesting as you." Ooh such a terrible line, truth was he hadn't been here long enough to know if anything was going on. Other then the fact that the barmaid needed help gathering supplies.

In the back room, it seemed Dis was taking her sweet time with those eggs boiling in the "cooking water". She knew it wasn't like she could control how fast they cooked, and anyway it was the bread that was the problem. She stared at it, a few small chunks taken off. I know that loaf was untouched when I left it! More annoyed than anything, she cut off the damaged bit as close as she could and plated a clean selection. She sighed, just more damaged goods and less to serve.

She could barely hear the customers talking outside and figured they're not too lively of a bunch, but at least they were attempting to chat; and then again, it was the morning. She smiled, an idea popping into her head.

Outside, Mau was making his way to the pump while happily being followed by the Poe. Happy to have someone of his own to talk to, he asked a few questions, barely taking a breath between them. " What's your name? Who is your pact-maker? What do you guys do? Oh, and sorry for almost bumping into you back there - are you okay?" All the way there Mau took care to step on any leaves he could find on the ground, making satisfying crunches and crinkles.

"Not in particular. I just arrived in this town shortly," responded Blade. It was too bad the others didn't seem to know much of the town either. It would have been nice to hear what was going on around here and all. But it mattered little. Most likely it wouldn't be too hard to figure it out once he was out and about.

Hearing the other man answer as well, he raised an eyebrow at what sounded like some sort of flirtation attempt with the woman. Shaking his head to himself, he just continued to idly sit by and patiently wait. He didn't mind that it was taking awhile as it gave him a little more of a chance to relax.

Briefly, he glanced over towards the door, wondering if there would be any other customers making an appearance.

Audra raised an eyebrow. "Nothing at all, eh?" She asked curiously. "Not even from elsewhere?" She doubted that they had no news at all. Just not possible. "And really, I'm not all that interesting," She said, directing this at the dirty blonde man who'd attempted to flirt with her. She was a redhead, and she did have one hell of a temper on her. Which made most regret ever setting her off. Not that it was all that apparent, what with her usually calm demeanor. She sighed and gulped down another mouthful of water. She turned her head just in time t see her poe trailing out after the starchild, just as she knew he would.

Scathach drifted behind Mau, his golden eyes watchful and observant. The starchild was pretty hyper, and seemed to adore making as much noise as possible.
"My name is Scathach, and the redhead, Audra is my pact-maker. We play with shadows a lot." Scathach answered in his raspy voice. Which was true. He and Audra spent quite a bit of time wandering the town at night, a time where she could be alone. She valued her solitude highly, and she didn't get much of it with him always lurking in her shadows, manipulating and playing with them. There were just no words to describe how he loved the shadows. It was just as well he could manipulate them.

"What about you? What do you do? Scathach hissed, curious about Mau.
