Sunset. With a cool breeze coming from the east. The air was humid, holding a bit of moisture that might turn into rain sometime during the night. She tilted her head up and sniffed. Yup, there was definitely rain in the air. No where to avoid it as far as she could tell. But these were also new lands for her, so different from the marsh. From her home. But this was also an adventure, a new exploration she told herself. A new start!
Flexing her claws in the rough, dry dirt Cécile scented the air once more. There was someone nearby. Perhaps a few yards.
For her, scenting and hearing was crucial, she didn't like being stalked, or taken by surprise and in her condition it used to happen alot. From childhood her eyes never worked quite right, were always a bit less than effective at her tasks and over time they grew worse and now she saw nothing but shadow. It might be a bit more work, but she learned to hone her available skills and grew faster and more developed in other ways.
In all honesty, Cécile liked being blind. It made her appreciate the small things in life. The feeling one touch could bring. The soothing sound of ones voice. It's what made her special and in no way handicapped. At least that's how she felt.
The plains were definitely warmer than what she was used to, she would tolerate it, for a time.

Joto'Damu was lazying himself about, still digesting the massive waterbuck he had taken down way earlier that day. He wasn't used to forging for his own food anymore, as it was mostly a thing done for him in their pride. He had to admit, though, it was much more fulfilling to hunt on his own than have someone bring him a meal daily. Made him feel like a real man again, something which had been lacking for awhile since his mate's death.
It didn't take Joto long to breath in the scent of the lioness. She was standing upwind of him of him and the slight circulating air there was had carried her scent to him gracefully. He perked up his head to see the white and pink lioness and rose a brow. She was quite pretty and young looking. She seemed a little on the thin side, but once Cecile managed to come into better view he could see why. Her eyes were almost the color of her hair, a sign of either complete blindness or a seeing disorder.
"Are you lost, miss?" Joto asked, sitting up a tad, shuffling to grass loudly so she could find where he was located. There had been a couple blind lions and lionesses in their pride when he was younger. He knew he signs and the things that would help them, not that he was much of a good samaritan.

Her head slowly turned toward the voice and her lips turned up into a friendly smile. These lands were not hers, better to appear friendly than to appear a threat. Though, who would see these eyes as a threat? she thought with an inner giggle. "Oh me? I'm not lost. Just new to these parts, that's all." Slowly she approached, following the scent of male that she downwind of her. Thanks to her heightened sense of smell, she caught a tiny whiff and quickly latched on. "Though I must admit, I think it'll rain soon and shelter would be good soon."
This had to be done. She had to come here. Though she knew her sister would always be her beloved sister, Cecile had to get away. If just for a little while. In her sisters eyes she was too weak, she was too thin, she need constant supervision. Why? Because she had a small weakness. And yet, it came with so many other benefits. Her body was slimmer yes, but only because she learned to move faster. She wasn't as thick because it wasn't her strong suit, but she was stealthy and sneaky if need be. But, it didn't matter. She was here and determined to make a new start. To leave the old behind.
"Did you happen to know of some place close by?" Her ears twitched and focused in on him.
