Setting:   Doku had found a place away from everyone else or so it seemed. He just wanted time with his mate. She had seemed a bit upset at the celebration and he wanted to set things straight. He was walking the area making sure nothing was there that could possible harm her.

 Unia was displeased, she hated this scary place. But... Doku had invited her and she wasn't one to disappoint. Besides, she hadn't seen her mate in how long? To long. Demon had grown up by then, and when she first met Doku he was a kit! Well, she had been introduced at the ceremony during Cruor... but... why did she have a nagging feeling she was so...alone? Why did she feel so lonely? She couldn't see Doku, and when she did he was with some... some vixen. She wasn't the jealous type, but he was so far away and she couldn't see why he would stay with her. Wouldn't he eventually move on for someone else inside his tribe? Wouldn't he like it more with a vixen he could always see?
She approached the meeting spot with a hollow hole in her heart. Maybe she should just end this. Maybe she should just leave his life, so he could be with someone who could truly make him happy. She was infecting him, and she was afraid she might be ditched.

Doku had picked up Unia's sent as soon as she reached the area. He stopped scouting right away and went to her. He had a smile on his face. Which is a very rare thing. He was happy, he would get to see his little mate. He walked up to her still with a smile on his face "Hi Uni love." He spoke but as he realized she wasn't happy his smile instantly faded. "Whats wrong? Are you hurt? Is someone threatening you?"He growled at the last two thoughts. He would kill someone if they hurt her.

Unia jumped as her mate came running after her. her grey ears flicking and eyes widening. She hadn't expected him to appear after only seeing darkness and creepy gravestones for the humans. Why did humans need something fancy when they died? When her kind died they did not need graves with beautiful stones carved with elaborate lettering. That was besides the point, Doku had startled her and the petrified female was sent back a few steps.
"D-D-Doku!" She gasped out in shock, eyes widening before she flashed a quick smile, masking the thoughts inside her head quickly and easily. "Oh no, nothing my love. Merely concentrating on not being frightened of the shadows cast by these stones." She responded with, nuzzling him affectionately.
She missed him. But he was in this dark and dreary place to see her. Her. She was forcing him to come her. She was the reason he had to leave home. She was a burden.
Such a burden...
This had to stop.

Doku nuzzled and kissed her. He held her close knowing that she spoke some truth. This place was probably a little to scary for her, but he could tell something else was off. "Unia you are my mate. Tell me the truth. Tell me whats wrong." he said to her pleadingly.

Unia sent a troubled glance his way, shaking her head. What was wrong was that she was insane, loco, down right mentally ill. She had the perfect mate, wasn't she happy? Sure, she had to go to great lengths to see him and his children, but she loved him. Though... was she really best for him?
The answer was and always would be: No.
"I... don't... I don't think you need...me." She mused back, looking away from her mate, ears flicking against her head. Seriously, she was a disgrace to her tribe like this. How could they be proud of their Shaman if she was this hard headed? She needed to speak clearly and not sound like a lost kit. Get her point across.
"Doku, I'm a failure as a mate." She said with a slight tremble to her voice. Was this really her speaking? Was she asking to go away? For Doku to leave her? No, not him. She was saying she should leave him. She was a burden, a nuisance. He belonged with people like him, and here she was, the stuttering fool.
She wanted him to be happy.

Failure as a mate? What where was this coming from? He didn't understand. He thought she was happy with him. What had changed?
"Unia what have I done wrong?" he asked. He was sure it was his fault. He always caused others to go away but that was on purpose this...this he didn't want to end. He was in her brother's tribe for a reason. He didn't fit in else where but he didn't think she would see him like the others did.
He was fooling himself of course she would. He was mean and hurt others. As to where she was kind, loving and helpful.

The female shook her head, eyes widening. "No! It isn't your fault, Doku!" She whimpered, shaking her head. She had messed up, she had screwed up. He was blaming himself. No....
"Doku, it's just... I... cannot be the vixen you need! I'm weak, I stutter and I jump, and I'm such a clutz."

He watched her unsure if she was telling the truth. "Why would any of those make you so your unfit?" he asked wanting to see where this was going. He would have never has seen this coming from her.

Unia looked away. Didn't he understand? She was not good enough. He was amazing, perfect even, and she was... the grew vixen who couldn't keep her head up without tripping. There would be someone else there to make him happy. He deserved happiness, he deserved someone smarter and funnier and stronger, much stronger.
"I ...want you to be happy, Doku! Even if I have to sacrifice my own happiness! I just see myself messing it up. I love you, I want you to be with someone who would be able to protect you if someone hurt you."
She could still see how she failed her siblings. How Sin had broken and accepted darkness. Yuki had crumbled and emotionally broke. Nuishan had created a world only Shai could enter. Runaiu began to hate herself and covered it up with a fake persona. And Shai had walked down the road of arrogance. She couldn't save them. Now, they were all recovering, except Runaiu, but what if she couldn't save Doku if he hurt?

Unia looked away, ears pulling against her head. She was happy, but she didn't want to make Doku unhappy. The vixen jumped as he made a sudden movement towards her, backing away out of sheer shock. She shook her head, beginning to stutter.
"I-I am happy, I just... I want...I..." The female didn't finish her sentence, whimpering quietly before rapidly snuggling into Doku. "I just want you happy."

"I am happy my love."He held her close and murmured soft reassurance to her. He rubbed her check in a soothing motion trying to tell her everything would be alright. He hoped to the modieties that they would be. For if he lost this woman that was in his arms than he would be lost forever and he knew it.

Unia nodded softly, the tears in her eyes slowly drying up. "A-A-Alright." She weakly managed to stutter out before nuzzling into Doku's side. She didn't want to be a bother by crying and acting slow, but she just couldn't help it! She was so afraid of messing up.

"Good,"He said pulling her tight against him and holding her. Doku began to hum softly to her trying to sooth her. He rubbed his paw down her back gently.
