Four A.M.
Normal people were not up at that hour, it was an ungodly hour reserved for nocturnal animals and babies who hated their parents, but Nyx was awake. She groaned as she untangled herself from her covers and Newton's limp arms. The blimp pokemon was still fast asleep, and she wasn't going to wake him up. It was Thursday and time for training with Miss Nadja at the beach. Miss Nadja did not get along with Newton, even though he found her absolutely lovely in every blimmy way.

After she put her swimsuit on under a pair of shorts and an airy button-up top, all of her pokemon except Newton were put into their pokeballs, and she left for the garage to meet up with Grunt Faleen and Elite Agent Nadja.

Lifting a hand to touch her fingertips to her nose, attempting to block a long yawn that crawled up from Faleen’s chest, best to get that out of the way, she was well aware of how early it was, but she was going to have to start getting used to this again.
Out of bed a couple of hours before she was supposed to meet Elite Nadja, and Agent Nyx to make sure she was going to be at the garage on time and ready to go.
And ready she was, she had managed to find a proper suit like Nadja has said, it was worn underneath her Grunt uniform.

Faleen rocked back onto her heels a couple of times, folding her hands behind her back as she waited just inside the door to the garage. Excited for what she could learn today.

"You're going to be warm in that," came a matter-of-fact female voice from the doorway, shortly before Nadja stepped through, shooting a look at Faleen's dark, modest garb. The elite was dressed far less formally, in what was either a light shirtdress or a swimsuit cover-up and a pair of rolled-up jeans, and Nyx's similar attire got a slight nod, either of acknowledgment or approval.

Despite the early hour, the elite seemed alert and focused. Keys jingled from her fingers and somewhere down the row of vehicles a door mechanism clunked open as she strode forward, expecting the pair to follow.

Any form of acknowledgement from Nadja, save the negative type, always brought a grin to Nyx's face. She followed the elite to a four door jeep and climbed into the front passenger side seat. When seated, Nyx often looked comically small compared to other people, and at the moment she resembled a small child excited about running errands with her mother and big sister, but this time she got to ride in the 'big girl' seat.

Sharply turning her head when she heard the Elite's voice, seeing the two she was to meet here walking in.
What she meant by her statement made a little more sense when she saw the casual.

"I'm not wearing it all day Ma'am" she replied with a slight nod of greeting to the two, she just got dressed till they got there,
besides, she knew what the beach was like most days in the early mornings, not till about nine or ten will the gray and dreary overcast burn off so that the sun can get through, if that was the case, especially this time of year, she won't be too warn at all.

Faleen didn't say anything more though, the lower rank of the three just followed after them. hands still folded behind her back, her hail laying flatter over her shoulders then is usually does.

"Good." It was a distracted reply, but the elite was slinging a shoulder bag between the front seats, slipping a pair of sunglasses out of its side pocket, and turning the key in the ignition. Despite her casual appearance, she carried herself and spoke with an air of professionalism still, brisk and efficient in her movements - but who wouldn't be in a hurry to leave the cool, dim garage for the bright sands outside?

Once Faleen was in, the Jeep backed out of its numbered space and headed for the exit. The desert was still warming up, and the sun's rays were milder than their full noon intensity. A few Pokemon were out and about, making use of their time before they would have to retire to cooler microclimes.

Nadja slipped the sunglasses over her eyes as they came into the light. "Tell me about your teams." This was directed at both of them, presumably; her eyes stayed on the horizon as the tires threw up clouds of sand.

Nyx pushed the mess of hair out of her face and took a deep breath. There was so much to tell about the members of her team. "Yes, ma'am. I have six pokemon. First, Newton... I, uh, left him back at the base..." She scratched her head and looked sheepish. It had seemed like the best choice; Newton and Nadja never saw eye to eye; Nadja could probably do without her morning being ruined by the perverted thing.

"Second, Tesla, Pikachu, male." She listed off the regular data before going on to the more interesting details. "He is very quick, but not good at much else. I think he is too cowardly to be terrible useful." The pikachu was more like a pet, than a real member of her team.

"Third, Bunsen, Flareon, male." Nyx adjusted her air vent to blow right above her head and ruffle her hair. "Despite evolution, is and acts very young. Bunsen is a little rambunctious, like his fathers, but shows promise in battle." It was a well known fact that Bunsen was the child of both Newton and Aki, Mau's vaporeon.

"Fourth, Langley, Pidgeot, male." Nadja should already be familiar with that member of Nyx's team. He was the mistake that came from the mix-up at the outpost and the two lab's combined horrible organization. The elite had issued forth a rigorous change of policies after that. "He is reliable, obedient, eager to please, and has done well in the few battles we've had." Despite all of the positive things about the bird pokemon, he was still just average for a pidgeot; Average and not a legendary pokemon.

"Fifth, Mendel, Chikorita, female." The grass type pokemon was the newest addition to Nyx's team. "Not very fast, but can take a hit, but more useful than that, can heal herself with enough sunlight. She seems obedient and likes to take charge of the rest of the team..." Mendel was to Nyx what Nyx sometimes was to Nadja. A faithful minion. Nyx's second in command.

"And last, Beaker, Blastoise, female." Nadja was probably also familiar with the terrible water pokemon. Scourge of life and un-pain. "Disobedient, stubborn, mean, aggressive. Positives... she's... quite strong." The walking tank could take a hit and dish them out. She was terribly slow, but the over sized turtle believed in brute force rather than strategy.

Dimming her eyelids when the vehicle pulled out into the desert sun, The Grunt in the back turned her gaze down toward her lap, though listening closely to Agent Nyx as she described her team at Elite Nadja’s question.
It was only when Nyx had finished talking, and a moment of pause followed before Faleen felt it was her turn to answer the question.
“I have three on my team, all males.” She started, “My newest is an Absol, he was caught wild in the mountains. My other two were bred by humans.
My Shuppet from a breeder I bought a couple of years ago, and my Umbreon I got when I joined Team Rocket. Umbreon is my most reliable and strongest pokemon.”

That was where she paused, she wasn't entirely sure what kind of information she wanted about there teams. What was most important when it came to pokemon training and team building?

A road would have defeated the purpose of a secret base, but if there had been one Nadja would have kept her eyes on it. As it was she paid attention to the vast expanse of sand, navigating by the GPS unit set into the dashboard. The elite was quiet, but at the mention of Newton she scowled reflexively. When Nyx mentioned he would be Sir Not Appearing On This Trip, she relaxed and listened while she listed the rest of her team.

And listened.. and listened. It was a detailed, organized answer befitting Nyx's scientific background, although the attempt to play up her Pidgeot's good points didn't go unnoticed. Faleen's was much shorter and the information presented was very different.

"A range of types is wise," the redhead commented while a cactus whizzed past, "and makes you less likely to be swept by a single strong opponent, but you have a weak link in your Pikachu from the sound of it. And your team is incomplete." If she hadn't been driving Nadja would have indicated Faleen in some fashion. "What are your plans?"

"I intend to substitute the next pokemon I acquire into my team to replace Tesla." Even not included in her day to day team, the pikachu would be left in her room, where she had originally found it.
Nyx sat patiently, her turn to speak passed.

Faleen hesitated for a moment, wondering how to answer that question at first, she only had three pokemon, yes her team was incomplete, and the only way she could think of how to fix that, would be to -
"Acquire more of the pokemon I need"
She knew exactly what she wanted, getting them would be the challenge.

Nadja's brows drew together and turned upwards.

"Yes, I assumed as much," she murmured as the beach drew into view. The redhead parked the Jeep on a sandy dune overlooking the shore, Slung her bag over her shoulder and opened the door. This early, streaks of light were still climbing over the horizon and the air was warm with the promise of heated noon later on. "Let's go into specifics. What are you looking for?" She indicated Nyx with the keys. "And you - more Dark types?"

Nyx opened her door and grabbed her bag off of the floor of the car. "Not terribly sure. I have no type preferences, but I suppose something I don't have, or a replacement electric type." She slid out of her seat and made her way to the front of the jeep.

"The trend so far has been that I've stumbled onto my pokemon. I found Newton, Tesla was hiding out in my room, Bunsen was found as an egg with Newton, I found Beaker at the beach that once, Mendel attacked us when my partner and I were on a mission, and Langley..." Well, she'd rather not remind Miss Nadja about where Langley came from, though she was sure she had never forgotten.

Opening her side as well, sliding her feet out of the door first, pushing herself from the chair to land on the course sands, uneven under her boots.
Once again she waited to answer the Elite's question last, and she did so, first with a nod, there was no question in her type preference.
"Yes Ma'am" replying at first, stepping away from the van to close the door
"It doesn't have to be pure dark like the two I have, but I work best with dark... they serve my purpose... perhaps someday I will earn myself a Houndoom, or catch one to train. A Sableye or Spititomb is also highly sought after for me" Those would be perfect for her, considering the Dark type's biggest weakness...
It was clear she put a lot of thought into dark type pokemon, she did have her ideal team all planned out in her head... and she would love to get her hands on them. "Tyranitar... and for water Sharpedo or Crawdaunt" Sharpedo... since she was little she always had a fascination with those.

The elite raised a brow. "That's an amazing amount of luck," was her comment, though the corner of her mouth deepened at the mention of the Pidgeot, "and charity." Nyx knew very well what Nadja thought of Langley, so she didn't waste words. "Electrics are a good team staple as long as you can overcome the weakness to ground."

As the doors shut, the redhead looked over her shoulder at Faleen, gray eyes sharp with consideration. Those weren't bad choices for any team, but.. "We all have our preferences, but a unifying type makes you predictable. Consider diversifying."

This was a personal excursion, not a training mission, and the water was calling. The elite started for the shoreline, a hand wandering to the belt slung around her hips. Red light beamed into the shallows and took the weedy-finned form of a Kingdra, who glanced up at the lower-ranked Rockets with deep red eyes, then returned focus to his trainer as she paused to release another member of her team - a massive Metagross, blue-sheened in the morning sun.

"Warm up, you two," Nadja called, prompting the arachnid-like tank to shift, carefully lifting and rotating each ball-jointed leg to much shifting of sand. The Kingdra dove.
