Hey, remember when this was a thing?
And then we all like never did any of the meditations because we are all really slack
Well, since I have made a personal commitment to meditate pretty much every day (admittedly I am only like 3 days into it so it's possible I could just flake entirely BUT I am TRYING SO.) I figured I'd resurrect this.
So, here is the deal. The new deal.
Every week, at some point.... when I remember.... I'll post a prompt of some kind. Maybe an image, a word, a poem, a chant or mantra, music, a youtube video, an object. I'll try to keep them vague rather than religion-specific, but I might throw in a few theistic ones to mix things up.
The challenge is to take the prompt, adapt or change it however you like (or not at all), and report back on how your meditation went. You don't have to go into detail, just tell us what you ended up doing with the prompt and whether it was a successful or interesting meditation for you. If it was boring or distracting or difficult, say that too.
Just trying to get a bit more "community" going on here biggrin

How about each day (or every couple of days) for fifteen minutes, sit in the lotus position and take a few deep breaths, focussing any negative enrgy groundwards out of your body.

I have some problems with that one as a meditation exercise for this guild.... to start with, I'm sure there will be many people who aren't able to do positions such as lotus. It's really more of an energy exercise than a meditative one, so maybe as a later exercise, but I'd rather start somewhere simple so people out of practice or unfamiliar with meditation can get the hang of it again. And I'm not sure what you mean by "negative energy" sweatdrop

How about sitting comfortably and meditating on the weather for 5 minutes.
How the weather and season match or don't in your mind. How the weather effects each of your senses.

And I'm not sure what you mean by "negative energy" sweatdrop Ah, silly me, I didn't think of that...by "negative energy" I meant anything that has gotten you down or made you feel upset during the day.

The weather is a good one! And it's a good one for giving feedback with.
I'm staying with a friend till next week, so I won't be able to start till next Wednesday, but we can start it for two weeks starting Monday. Thoughts?
