Istas was watching out the window for Melody. It'd been a while since Istas seen Melody, for a while her parents had to get a different babysitter. They never stayed long though, they were all so mean.
"Is it really Melody coming?" She asked curiously, she knew her daddy sorta worked with Melody's mother or something like that... Melody's mother worked in a law firm and her Daddy was a stock broker... apparently her daddy needed a lawyer to keep him out of trouble or something... either way it was all too complex for Istas to care about.
Right now it was the fact that Melody was back.
"Yes baby," Istas' mother called from the dining room as she straightened Mr. Holywell's tie. "Honestly honey I thought you'd know how to tie a tie by now."
Mr. Holywell chuckled, "But then you wouldn't get to fix it and I couldn't do this."
Istas heard the kissing and made a face, "Ew..." She said with a chuckle and then her hand pressed against the glass of the window, "Is that her!?" Istas thought it was but she'd been mistaken before.

As a matter of fact it was the little girl's favourite babysitter. She'd been running a little late, having gotten caught up in patrolling. Luckily she had managed to put herself close to the Holywell household subconsciously.
Making her way up the driveway, Melody made her way up to the door and knocked gently. She was torn between walking in as she used to do, before Barren Pines, or waiting for them to answer. Nearly two years since she'd seen the Holywells, it felt a bit weird to just waltz in.
So she waited, small bag held before her as another hand came up to tuck a stray fly-away behind her ear. Hopefully she wasn't too late and they had called some one else, she'd been looking foreword to seeing the little one again. Fidgeting a bit, her heels clacked on the cement porch.

It was Mr. Holywell that had answered the knock. "Melody!" He said with a grin, and moving aside to let her in, "It's been a while, please come in." He was often big on the formalities.
"How've you been?" He asked the girl regarding her as the older girl that was she was now.
Istas was off the couch in a heartbeat almost dancing at the door. When Melody walked in she stared for a minor second before tackling the girl in a hug. "Why haven't you been baby sitting for me?"
Apparently her parents never really told Istas that Melody had "died" those two years, they just made it sound like she'd moved really far away. "Daddy said you left!" The little girl pouted, "You didn't even say goodbye!"
She normally wasn't so talkative but she was a little more than unpleased with how Melody had 'went away' so she was a little more chaty with the questions and more open to acting hurt than normal.

Melody laughed putting a hand on the head of the girl wrapped around her, she'd barely gotten in through the door before she'd been "attacked". She hadn't really changed since she last saw her. Maybe a little taller but that was about it.
"Hello Mr. Holywell. I've been pretty good lately, school's going well before you ask." She was full of smiles as she replied, bending to shift the girl from hugging to picking her up and putting her on her hip. Sure she was a little old for it, but it had been awhile.
"I'm sorry, Istas. You know I'd never chose another little girl to babysit." Quickly she kissed the girl's nose. "I got really busy with school work, I had a lot to make up. But I've found time now and you'll see me more often."
It was a promise.

Istas grinned as Melody talked to father, burying her head into Melody's side before giggling as she was shifted and picked up.
"I'm glad to hear that Mellie." He said with a nod and smile, and soon Chi was walking out with her purse in hand, they both were dressed pretty fancy, some formal party probably.
When Istas was picked up she squeaked and chuckled happily wrapping her arms around Mellie's shoulders to keep herself better balanced.
"Good, you better not!" Istas said with a nod, and small frown, "At least you're here now. No more scary babysitters."
After Istas seemed to be picked up comfortably Chi addressed Melody. "It's nice to see you again Mellie." She said with a smile, "You remember Istas' bed time right? And the numbers are on the fridge as they use to be."
At the mention of bed time Istas made a small noise in protest. It wasn't bed time yet, she wanted to color and play a game with Melody.

"Of course, of course." Though honestly she was glad that nothing had changed since. "She'll get to bed on time and should something come up I'll give you a call." A bright smile and a hand came up to rub at the little one's back to show she hadn't forgotten her. "Hope you have fun!"

Istas waved as her parents left, "Be careful!" She said with a chuckle. Grinning at the back rub, when her parents were out of sight she looked back towards Melody.
"What do you want to do Mellie?" She asked with a grin. Istas wrapped her arms around the older girl's neck.

Closing the door behind the Holywells, Melody turned her attention to Istas and kissed her cheek. "Whatever you want to do, sweetie, we'll do."
Sitting her down on the floor again, she grabbed her bag again and moved for the living room. She didn't know if they'd end up in the living room as usual, or if Istas would want to play in her room that evening. It would all be up to her charge this evening, to make up for their lack of time together.
"Did you really have scary babysitters?"

Istas, when sat down followed Melody almost like a puppy. She didn't want to let the girl out of her sights since last time Mel left she didn't come back for a whole two years.
"I have board games, or we could color, unless you want to play tea-party..." Istas ran over ideas of things they could do. hum what else did she have, her video games were all one player type things 'cause her daddy got her one of those game girl things with cutesy games.
She paused, "Yes, or they didn't care and just yapped on the phone the whole time!" She said with a wrinkled nose, "One was so old she smelled of prunes and cat. She was the scariest! Her TEETH came out!" Istas hadn't seen anyone with false teeth before, but really, why did someone's teeth come out!

"Awww, well that's not very fair to you. I'm sorry they didn't pay you a lot of attention." Sitting on the couch, she rifled through her bag. "And yea, that lady does sound scary. But as long as I'm around, you won't have to deal with any of them ever again."
Suddenly she pulled out something from the bag, holding it out to the girl. "Speaking of coloring books, though, here! I got you something as an apology. I saw it the other day and knew you'd love it."

Istas nodded, "They weren't as fun as you are!" She said with a smile, "And good. I don't want that lady to babysit again."
She paused, "Why is it called babysitting? You don't sit on me." She said after a second with a tilted head, her ringlets bouncing.
She paused when Mellie pulled out a gift, "OHHH!" She took the book with a happy squeal, as she took the gift and started looking at it.

"You know," she replied after thinking about it a moment. "That's a very good question. I'm afraid I don't know the answer to it though."
Playfully she ruffled the girl's hair, watching the ringlets bounce in the process. "So how about I ask my dad and the next time I come over I'll tell you the answer." Surely her dad would know the answer.
Melody had to pause, however, when Istas began looking over the coloring book she'd been handed. It was a 'My Little Pony' coloring book, just something the blonde had picked up on a whim. "Hope you like it, chibi~"

Istas pouted a little as Mellie answered she didn't know the answer.
She chuckled as her hair was ruffled, "YES!" She chuckled, nodding her head, "Ask your daddy! He's smart."
She grinned looking at the ponies, "Ohh this one's flying!" She held up the book, "Lets go up to my room and color." She smiled and grabbed the coloring book and tugged on Mellie's hand.
She paused, "Mellie, will you check my closet for monsters?" She asked looking up at the older girl.

"All right. I'll try to have an answer before I come back."
At the tugging of her hand, she smiled and stood, leaving her bag by the couch. She doubted she'd be needed for senshi duty, and the chances of the house being attacked were slim. Hand holding the little one's, they made for the stairs.
When Istas paused, she did too, looking down as her charge looked up. "Of course I'll look for monsters, sweetie. Aaannd, should any show up I'll totally dust them for you!"
Funny how much braver she sounded now that she actually had the power to do so.

Istas nodded, "Okay!"
She chuckled, pausing looking at Melody as she said she'd dust them, smiling softly. "Mellie," She said softly, "Do you think there's really monsters out in the city now?"
She'd been kept at home, and not allowed to go out after dark by now, occasionally protesting when there were fireflies out. It was unfair, at least in her mind, her parents always said that actual monsters were silly. Even though her mother told her stories of the Cherokee, this was different... she started up the stairs.
