Tori was seeing red as she walked away from her meeting with Joy. The woman was too damn bubbly before and now she was more so because she had gotten the news that Tori was having twins. Damn the sonogram.
One kid sounded easy enough but she wasn't so sure about two.
Another thing she wasn't sure of was how much longer she could take dealing with Joy and her hormones both at the same time...
She balled her fists and grumbled as she stormed towards the park. When she stopped to cross the street she took a deep breath to try and calm herself. Instinctively both hands rubbed over her belly in attempts to calm her little ones. Upon opening her eyes she noticed a familiar figure.

He sat upon the grass quietly going through his spoils of pictures that he took through out the day. Quint was starting to get more and more into his hobby but he wished, or rather hoped that he could find someone to take him under their wing one day. He actually seemed pretty happy and content with himself he'd taken some nice pictures but he needed a mentor of sorts that would tell him how to get to the place where he took great pictures and even would help him cut out the middleman so he could develop his own pictures in his own dark room.
Quint paused at a picture and frowned, " ..Good feelings gone.

She knew that Quint hadn't noticed her or else he'd of said something. She wasn't exactly sure what but... In any case she took a deep breath and slowly knelt down. She was a good six months but resembled at least eight.
"Quint," she whispered his name as she reached her hand out to touch his. She could tell that he was in a fairly bad mood but about what she didn't know. She just hoped that her gesture wouldn't startle him and cause him to hit her or something of the like. "What's the mater?" He was after all her friend and she cared about him.

He noticed nothing when he was reviewing things so when she was much closer, touching him, and whispering his name he startled a bit his eyes widening a bit as he turned his head to stare at her with his lips parted with intent to defend himself just in case it was someone that was unwelcome. He couldn't help it; it was a trigger that sometimes reared its ugly head when he wasn't particularly keeping himself in control like now.
Right now his eyes only saw Victoria's face as he stared and then recognized her, "Oh...Christ, be careful," he muttered as he put things down on his lap and let out a sigh, "The developer at the one hour photo place is a ******** moron," he explained simply.

Tori was only a little shocked, but not frightened at all. She knew Quint and his 'teeth' and his 'way about things'. She smiled nervously at first but then after a second it was just a simple regular smile. Now that she had his attention she moved from sitting on her knees to sitting on her butt... there was no point in trying to sit Indian style. So instead she just curled her legs like a z and rest on one of her hands. She rested her free hand on her stomach. She'd soon be shifting due to the weight but for now she was comfortable as possible.
"Mess up one of your photographs I take it," Tori sighed softly. "Accidents do happen. But, it really sucks when they do... because most of the times the pictures you take are the ones you want. Unless you are my sister Lucifel who will take pictures of everything including her shoes..." she chuckled.
"Would you like the address of the place I use? It is just down the street for the shop," she pointed in the general direction. "He's in his years and really good. I've never had a problem with him," she smiled.

He didn't say anything about the incident. Talking about it was always awkward at best as well as really uncomfortable for him so when she continued to talk about his photographs he nodded a bit as he listened he was quiet and thoughtful as he started to look her over there was something different about her something...
"Hmm? Oh yeah. Maybe? I mean I plan on getting my own dark room and s**t set up. I plan on making it more than just a hobby I guess. I really like it," he said quietly as Quint continued to look her over thoughtfully before his eyes finally landed on her belly and he stared without meaning to.
He cleared his throat a bit, "...See you got an expansion."

Tori had to sit up a bit as she pulled her bag into her lap. It took her a moment to find paper and a pen. "I keep meaning to clean this thing out," she said as she scribbled down an address for him. "Here you go," she said as she handed him the paper with the address. "He's got those supplies to, could probably help you out..."
She probably would have said more but suddenly the topic was on her tummy. It wasn't like it wasn't noticeable. And it certainly looked nothing like just plan ol' weight gain. She sighed softly as she dropped the paper and pen back into her bag. She placed her hands on her stomach and smile when she felt them kick. As angry as she'd been just moments previous about there being two now suddenly she didn't care.
"I guess you could put it that way," she giggled. "Only three months to go... that's if I make it to term," she sighed softly. "I was actually just coming back from an appointment with my midwife. We had to go to the Dr office today for an ultra sound."
And like any other proud expecting parent she pulled out one of the pictures. There was only one baby in the picture that she grabbed. One picture was plenty enough to show him... after all she didn't want to bore him with several more that were nearly all the same.

Quint watched her quietly and took the paper with a small, "Thank you," afterward. He looked over the address and quietly tucked it into his pant pocket after shifting a bit to do so. He would certainly have to keep it in mind, but he wasn't sure when he'd get around to it. He was so wrapped up in other things most of the time lately.
The young man stared at her stomach quietly and then looked up at the 'picture' she offered and blinked a bit. He knew those sort of things existed but it was another thing to see an actual ultrasound image, "Looks like a ********' alien in there," he muttered softly though it was more of a playful tone to it than a hateful one.
He shifted a little as he tore his gaze away, "The...umm..father around?"

"I suppose in a way he does resemble an alien," she giggled. She herself had at first thought them odd. But, then after the initial first glance she'd fallen in love even more with her babies and saw them as something else. She'd love them unconditionally even if they came out looking a little funny.
"The father," she sighed as she again glanced down at her tummy. A tear slid down her cheek as she shook her head gently. "I made my choice and as promised I will ask nothing from him. I... I... I am letting him live his life."
She felt half bad for not having seen Kay since she told him. However, she stood firm that the choice she made was the right one. As long as she didn't see him she would expect nothing from him. She was weak when it came to Kay. She had always been that way. She had always 'loved' him even if she never admitted it.

"Yeah...just a bit," he chuckled though suddenly the mood dropped when the mention of the father became more in depth. He shifted uncomfortably when he saw the tear and awkwardly shifted closer and moved to brush the fallen tear from her face. That totally didn't suit her at all. He even draped an arm about her shoulders after he wiped away the tear.
"Ahh, geeze Tori, don't cry," he said with an actual bit of concern etching into his voice. Though Victoria had mentioned giving the Father his freedom he wasn't sure why he was compelled to ask, "Who is it?"
As much as he hated dragging on the pain he just...curious.
Okay, he was burningly curious at who Victoria had let so close to knock her up. Quint was trying to be a friend, it wasn't like he was going to go out and beat the guy up or anything.

Naturally Tori's body shift towards Quint to except the comfort. She needed it more than she probably even realized. She was typically a strong person, or so she thought... lately she had learned that she wasn't as strong as she thought. She drew in a breath and tried to keep herself from crying further. But, it couldn't be helped. Hormones: 1 million. Tori: 4.
"You're brother..."

He was relaxed, as relaxed as he could be, when Victoria leaned on him. Quint awkwardly patted her shoulder and let her take as much time as she needed to find the strength to sit up on her own. Upon hearing his brother was the father, however, he tensed up and took in a sharp breath and he just sat there with wide eyes. What?
Father? His brother? That irresponsible twit?
Okay, so he shouldn't be too surprised but still...
He furrowed his brow in an attempt to moderate his tone and his words. Her words spoke of choice on her own part though he was curious about one other thing, "Didn't he even stand up for the right to be a part of their lives too? I mean...I is as important to the father as it is the mother..isn't it?"

Tori covered her face with her hands as she continued to cry. It was so unlike her to cry like this. There was only ever a handful of times she cried. She did her best to breathe but it was hard and it hurt. She slumped against Quints firm frame.
"He doesn't want them. Anything to do with them. I think he would have rather I have gotten rid of them. I couldn't. I couldn't. Back then it was because I felt I was being punished. That I had to do the time for my crime... crimes. But, now I love them. I love my babies. But, he... Kay," everything she had said came out in fragments between attempted breaths. It was hard to understand her but she was trying as best she could. "So, I ask nothing of him. I never will." She reached for her bag and pulled out an old worn out shirt to dry her face off with. Not that it helped much since she wouldn't stop crying. "He only asked me if he could see them once. I couldn't deny him that... They are my babies. Mine!"

She was sobbing now. What could he do? He didn't have any sort of preparation for this sort of thing it was hard enough watching Mom almost cry though she left before she burst open like a dam. He moved and hugged her and swayed a bit with her unable to think of anything to say even as he listened. His frown deepened the more he heard and he felt ...
Anger.
Mostly toward his brother and the way he seemed to handle this. Sure Victoria 'released' him from responsibility but still...According to Victoria he didn't want it to begin with so...Augh. He would need to talk to Kay and hopefully not throttle him to the point where his head falls off and rolls onto the floor with that stupid snake going along for the ride. He wasn't pleased with Victoria either but that didn't mean that he'd abandon her (or his brother).
"I'll be the best damn uncle I can be," he promised her quietly, "if you want me to be that is..."

She could feel the shift in his emotions but didn't question them. She actually half chalked it up to her own hormones. Finally she managed to get herself under some sort of control. She was still sniffling and an occasional tear still slid down her cheek but it was nothing like previous.
"Of course you'd make a great uncle," she gave a small smile. "The more to this family the merrier." Her over all family was 'huge', but her own was small. "That makes me, two kids, a couple friends, some grandparents, and an uncle... cozy," she did her best to giggle.
Something in her tugged. She'd let it out about it being twins. That was something that Kay didn't know and that she didn't want him to know... at least not yet. "Please, please don't tell Kay it's twins."
