Aziz'Din spent most of his time outside of the family den now'a'days, though he still enjoyed spending time with her mothers, or father, and occasionally his siblings but it was simply too crowded in the den. His father's large family was a sign of good stature within the pride, and showed how good a sultan he was, providing the next generation of cubs, but really, there was a limit to the amount of noise that Aziz wanted to put up with, and he'd reached it.
The noonday sun was high and made the ground hot, though he barely acknowledged it as he walked towards the lake area. He didn't go down as far as the lake, pausing instead under one of the trees between the lake and the den areas, crawling onto one of the rocks and settling in. His eyes scanned across the pride now, examining where everyone was and who was out and about. He knew most of the families within the pride, from just watching the banu and the pads, and then matching then with the cubs who sprung up randomly within the pride. It was like a game. Except it was better than a game, because it was actually constructive, not just...mucking about and being stupid.
Aziz didn't approve of most games, though some of them he found entertaining, like playing Pads, or Pouncing practice, but they taught actual skills, not like...tag or something silly like that. He had goals in life, ambitions, he wasn't going to waste time with that stuff.
He sniffed, and glanced back at the pride members, noting their family's inwardly as he looked over each of them. When he reached someone he didn't know, he tried to think back to the other pride members and match them up, planning to check them later to confirm who they were. He had to know if he was right or not, else the game was pointless.

Hazina lay comfortably in the grass just outside her den, looking as though she'd sprawled haphazardly but in reality had chosen the location because it showed off the bright warm colors of her coat, especially her little wing markings. After all, those were the same markings as her daddy had, and people ought to know whose daughter she was. Because she was a very special little Banu, oh yes. As well the Pad her father chose for her should know.
He might not be her Prince Charming, her father would be the one to chose and so she would take what she was given. Maybe she could hint, if she did see a male she liked. But really, a Pad was a Pad she supposed. Besides, even if he was a little crooked, she could straighten him out with a little work. Just like this flower. It might be a little bent in the middle, but if she propped it up a tiny bit, maybe nudged it to the other side, it would be almost perfect...
Snap.
Hazina stared at the broken bloom under her paw. Now it was far worse then before. The poor thing, she'd only been trying to make it better... nothing wrong with that, was there? No. No of course not. It wasn't her fault it had broken, if it hadn't grown wrong in the first place, this wouldn't have happened.
Satisfied that she had done no wrong, the little Banu rose to her paws, giving herself a good shake to dislodge any dust or grass bits from her pretty pink pelt. Hm. What to do now? Daydreaming was all well and good, for a little while. But there were other games to play...
Her odd dark eyes lit upon a young Pesar, his mane just starting to come in proving him to be older than her. He might do nicely for a start. The boys her age were ever so immature. Fixing a sweet, innocent smile upon her features, she padded towards him, pausing where she was certain he would see her and waiting there in silence, head tilted slightly to one side to betray her interest in speaking with him. She was, of course, far too perfect a Banu to speak out of turn...

Aziz'Din spotted the female approaching him well before she'd hit her mark of the perfect exposure spot. His eyes glanced over her subtly, taking in her markings and pretty pink colour - or rather, he was sure others would consider it a pretty colour. He wasn't really sure any colour was pretty. Purple was a good colour though, a royal colour- and her rather...odd eyes. Altogether, an average looking cub. She looked familiar. It took him a moment to place her though, as the male was not one he was familiar with.
It was the eyes that gave her away. He had only seen one litter with those eyes and one male with them, and they were very odd. Not to mention the wing markings, which was extremely similar to her father's.
He was rather impressed that she did not speak, simply standing there waiting for him to acknowledge her. Good. That's how females should interact with Pesars, or Pads. At least she knew her place.
"Hello, Pad Kame'bufuu's daughter," he greeted her rather coolly, before glancing back to his game of picking out the pride members. He wondered if she knew who he was? Was that why she approached him? Hm...

Hazina stood quietly before him, but her posture was hardly meek. She was a very confident young Banu, she knew exactly how to get at what she wanted to have someday, or she thought she knew. Age would teach her otherwise, but for now she knew how to be polite. Be respectful, and still manage to get what she wanted.
When he finally greeted her, she tamped down the desire to raise an eyebrow. So he knew her daddy, did he? Well then, that was good. He knew exactly where she stood then, and how she expected to be treated. Much better than those silly cubs who wanted to play and roll in the dirt. She had no interest in those boys.
"Good morning, son of Sultan Aali," she replied smoothly, her voice sweet but oddly clipped, as though she almost found speaking politely to be annoying. But it was apparent whom he belonged to. All that purple, who else could be his father? "The name my father gave me is Hazina. May I inquire as to your calling?" There. That sounded nice. Formal, and educated. Very mature.

Aziz'din was rather reluctantly impressed by this banu, glancing across at her from the corner of his eye. Well, she knew how to be respectful at least, and she although she was being submissive, it was hardly passive. She was standing her ground, though she was not pushing to try to dislodge him from his own obvious higher standing to hers.
And she even knew who he was. Or rather, who his father was. A slight smirk twisted his face, but it was barely noticeable. "Banu Hazina," he greeted her respectfully as she volunteered her name. "I am called Aziz'Din." He would normally suggest that she call him Aziz, but he did not think she would appreciate informality at this stage.
She seemed like a proper banu, even though she was very young still. He disliked female cubs normally, as they hadn't learnt yet and their parents normally let them get away with far too much. Really, they had to be taught from that young ago, else they would never be proper banus.
"Are you out alone, Banu Hazina?" It wasn't unheard of for females to be unescorted, but Aziz'Din knew female cubs were usually kept under closer guard, as they should be.

Hazina's smile grew, perhaps, a bit arch as he glanced at her from the corner of his eye. She'd called it, hadn't she then. Not that it had been hard to guess his parentage. But still. Her eyes, and the lovely wings, gave her away very easily, or so she thought.
"It is a pleasure to meet you," she replied to the volunteering of his name, inclining her head slightly. But she had a bit of a fix here. Would he be offended if she called him 'Pesar Aziz'Din'? Certainly she didn't know him well enough to refer to him by his name alone! And she sincerely doubted he was a Pad yet either. Nor, though she could be mistaken, did she think 'Emir' was a proper term...
Her father taught her well. Taught them all well. Rules were important, very much so. And thus his next question caught her a bit off-guard. Because it was dodgy to answer truthfully without breaking any of the rules...
"My den is not far from here at all," she assured him sweetly, "My mothers know where I am. Besides which," the pink Banu added with a very slight batting of her eyes, as she'd seen another Banu do with her Pad that made him smile ever so fondly, "I'm no longer alone now, am I?"

Aziz'Din quirked a brow at her response, now looking at her fully, no longer pretending to be examining the pride. Well, it was rude not to look at them if they were talking to you, wasn't it? She was an interesting one at least, rather than making small talk over nothing, or banu too afraid to speak.
He was a little startled when she batted her eyes at him, and he frowned a little. Sure, he'd seen banu do it once or twice, but really, why would she do it to him? She didn't know him more than his parentage. How odd.
"I wonder which one is less favourable, being alone or with a Pesar that your family is not aware of?" He remarked, somewhat dryly. "Though as I am of royal blood, it is not as poor a choice as others in the pride." There were a few families he did not trust, for little good reasons. He just did not know them, and therefore distrusted them more than a little.
Her family was not one he knew well, however he had seen her father around the pride, and he had not seemed worth distrusting, so he felt no need to worry over his daughter's motives.

Ah, at last she had his full attention. That eye-trick thing must really work. Hazina felt pleased with herself for thinking of it, it was clearly a good way to get a male's attention properly. Perhaps she should expirement with it a bit then?
Her confident posture and nearly smug smile faded slightly at Aziz'Din's next words though. Slowly, uncertainly, her ears laid back, and she glanced over her shoulder again in the direction of her den. She could almost hear her mother's voice, she really was that close. But she didn't know the right answer to his question! What was she supposed to say?
"I...doubt there are any in the pride who are unaware of who you are," she tried, though even Hazina knew it was a long stretch at best. But it was true at least! Surely it was an answer that would suffice. If she were to be the best beybanu, she must not make any mistakes ever!

Aziz'Din hid a smirk at her comment, pleased at her response. What an utter lie, considering he hadn't made a name for himself in the pride - yet - but people would know of his father. His appearance made his heritage rather obvious, so people would have little doubt of what type of pesar he was.
"There are a few," he remarked casually, "but that will change in time. For now, I'm sure spending time with the Sultan's son is better than just another pesar around the pride, so your choice was good."
He was giving away a little of his plans in that statement. He was going to make sure everyone in the pride knew who he was, when he was older. He was already laying the ground-work. He knew who everyone was, it was just creating a way that they returned the favour when he was older.

"Well," Hazina started, hesitation fought fiercely out of her tone, "I am certain that they would recognize you at the least." Her weight shifted slightly, betraying her touch of uncertainty and discomfort in spite of herself. She worried that she was doing something 'wrong' and it irked her as much as it made her anxious to amend it. Perfect, she had to be perfect...no mistakes, not ever, not at all.
"I find the younger cubs are too rowdy for my taste" she explained, or perhaps agreed, when he said that her choice had been good. She'd picked him because he seemed quiet really. Less prone to roll in the mud or some other such stupid thing. That she probably didn't need to share with him though, he might feel less 'special' if she said she had greeted him because he wasn't rolling in the dirt and not because she recognized who he must be.

Aziz'Din wasn't sure if they would recognize him, but they should. He preened a little at her comment, and knew that some day, everyone would know his name and know exactly who he was. He tilted his head to the side, eying her curiously when she spoke of other cubs. He had to agree, younger cubs were just...messy. They were so loud and bubbly. Aziz'Din couldn't really remember being that bouncy and outgoing. Maybe he was just born old.
“You have good tastes then,” he said, nodding to himself. “What is more to your tastes then?” He asked.

What was more to her tastes? Oh dear, how could she explain it properly...
"Well," she began after a moment's thought, "Someone more mature. Responsible. Powerful, but not cruel. Like my father." After all, her daddy was the perfect sort of Pad. So really, any boy that could follow in his superior pawsteps would be a head above the rest already.
Aziz'din, for example, was not running about and rolling in the mud. So he was already doing a bit better.

Aziz'din listened to her speak, surprised that he was actually enjoying conversing with the younger female. He didn't usually find interesting conversation in younger folk, nor in females, not that he had really spent that much time around them.
"Your father sounds like a good Pad then, if he is as you describe an ideal companion," he remarked, nodding his head. He would look into the Pad more closely, he decided, if he could produce someone as interesting as this female, then perhaps he warranted a closer look by Aziz. Not that Aziz's interest would do much to change the status of the other Pad, but it would, at least, help Aziz to become more well known and noticed within the pride itself. It was a worthy task, he decided.
