Hobbies:
Research - Klaus loves to research. If he doesn't have an assignment from school, he keeps a list of subjects he feels he should know more about. He'll go to the top of his list and research and experiment on that subject until he feels that he could write at least a passable dissertation on it before moving to the next things on his list.
Experimenting - Klaus got his first chemistry set when he was four. Since then, he's been slowly adding and building it up so that it now rivals a University Chemistry lab. In addition to his research, he will often perform his own experiments to verify or test hypothesis. His parents gave him the entire basement for his use after he almost burned down the garage at age eight.
Virtues:
Intellect -- Klaus is very intelligent to begin with and many years of strict study and research have honed that. He's a smart guy. He may not have a lot of common sense, but when it comes to book smarts, he's near the top. He spends almost all of his time with his nose buried in a book or in his science equipment.
Dedication -- Klaus is dedicated almost to the point of being obsessive. If he commits to something, he fully commits. This is usually not dedication to another person but dedication to a project or a problem he is attempting to solve. He will go without sleep, food, etc. and work for days if it means coming up with a solution.
Eidetic Memory -- Klaus has eidetic memory, meaning everything he sees or hears, he can recall with almost perfect precision. This also means that he can read at a faster rate than the average person.
Flaws:
Antisocial -- Klaus is completely antisocial, somewhat by choice, somewhat by necessity. Though he is very intelligent, he completely lacks social skills. It is incredibly difficult for him to interact with other people. He has no idea of how to relate to others and because of his hypercritical perspective, he does not make friends easily. If other people try to befriend him, he will try to talk to them, but most often ends up criticizing them or weirding them out. This frustrates him, so he has taken to keeping mostly to himself.
Geekiness -- He's got the glasses, the intelligence, and the lack of social skills. All of these means he has been shunned as a complete and utter geek. He would much rather study, research, or experiment than go out on a date or try to make friends.
Hypercritical -- Klaus comes off as very arrogant because he can't relate to other people. He doesn't understand why other people aren't as smart as he is and often by accident, he is very critical of another person's work. He will sometimes offer to help, but this usually comes off as mere arrogance rather than kindness.
Rules? What rules? -- It isn't that Klaus doesn't acknowledge the existence of rules and laws, rather he just doesn't agree with some of them. If a rule doesn't make sense to him or he feels that he needs to break it, he will. Klaus feels that he knows what is best for Klaus and he is going to see to his needs first before he worries about other people. After all, they shun him. Why should he care?
PHYSICAL DESCRIPTION
Eyes: A medium shade of brown.
Hair: Dark brown, kind of long, about jaw/chin length. Looks unkempt and always appears slicked back on the top and sides as if he's run his hands through it over and over again, like this.
Face: Slender, angular face, very fair skin, as though this guy has never seen the light of day before. Average sized ears. He does wear glasses with square, plastic rims.
Clothes: Usually his school uniform. It not, probably jeans, a dress shirt, a vest, and a lab coat.
