It felt weird not waking up to the familiar cobweb wallpaper that was peeling a little at the corners, the drawings of her clothing designs on the wall and the smell of her mother's cooking (Toasted fruit flies sprinkled on a banana, yum)... It felt weird living alone. Her friends seemed so far away; none of them were coming to school and those who tried were rejected. She took out her wallet from her handbag, flipping it open to reveal two photos; one of her mother and her and one of her and her friends. Looking at their smiling faces made her feel a little better at least, and they did promise to keep her updated on stuff happening back home!
Stuffing her wallet back into her handbag, she made her way down the path leading to the Demon Dorms, glad that it was a downhill walk. It was cool and slightly windy - good weather to explore the school grounds before classes start! She wouldn't want to get lost on the official 'first day of school', after all! Besides, after meeting Belladonna, she realized that wandering about might get her familiarize with the students as well, so its like killing two birds with one stone!
As the path converged with the path from the other Dorms, she stopped for a minute, looking around expectantly, a small smile on her lips. When she realized how silly she must look, Lizzy blushed a light pink before continuing on, brushing a hand through her hair.

While Lizzy might have known where she was going, Temes certainly did not. Never having wandered far from the main campus or the monster dorms the chupacabra had little sense of direction for places she'd never been before and being near the demon dorms was certainly one of those times. She'd been warned by some of the nicer older monsters to try and avoid the other dorms as best she could, since not all occupants were as friendly as she might hope them to be, so when Chuppi found herself staring up (or down) at a dorm that was not her own she nearly wet herself.
Instantly into her mouth went her Thermos, instantly she started to chug away at the sweet fluid that dwelt inside. It calmed her nerves at being horribly lost and likely in trouble should a demon find her and make demands. Her run in with a demon had not ended well, what with her having to bite him, so maybe she could sneak back to her dorm somehow without anyone ever noticing she was gone.
She was feeling better about her choice to sneak back home when her eyes spotted someone on the path ahead. Instantly Chuppi crouched low, all four hands and feet on the ground, ans she scuttled over and behind a bush. It wasn't a slick move - she'd been seen. If the person on the road has missed her she would have been surprised.

Ahead, she could see a fellow student - a Monster, judging from her appearance. Automatically, her hand shot up and she gave her a wave and a friendly grin, like a reflex, as her pace quickened. However, where the student once was, there was only empty space.
Wait, what?
Lizzy stopped in her tracks, wide eyes following the movements of the other student as she ducked behind a bush in an almost comical manner, prompting a soft giggle from the Spider Demon. However, when the student failed to reappear, she took a few cautious steps towards the bush, careful not to cause the student to do anything drastic again. Making her way to stand beside the bush, she smiled, shuffling her feet as she stared at the top view of the student, "Um... Hello there?"
For some reason, the atmosphere felt a little awkward... Or rather, the situation they were in was rather awkward. Then again, it might just be her imagination. She extended a hand as she bent over, a gesture intended as a way to help the monster up as well as to appear friendly, "Sorry if I had startled you!"

Noooooo! Her attempt to hide was a failure! Chuppi quickly covered her head with her hands in an attempt to make herself smaller, something more comical that actually effective, and she stayed in that position for several minutes before she decided to raise her head and see if the demon was gone. They weren't and she nearly squealed in an effort to get up and run away though the end result had the chupacabra nearly impaling said demon before getting stuck against the bush. Her Thermos strap had gotten tangled on a branch, so had her hair, and as she struggled to get free it only made things worse. Some monster she was to look so pathetic in front of a race of beings that already thought monsters witless and stupid!
"I....I'm stuck."
Stating the obviously only proved to drive home the point about monsters not being all that witty, though Chuppi liked to believe she could be pretty smart. Her grades weren't so bad at least and on a random note this demon didn't seem to be thinking so ill of her. They're even tried to talk to her twice, not that Chuppi had been paying attention, and since they had a hand up still maybe it meant they were going to do something.
"Um...help me get free please?"

"O-Oh dear," Lizzy blinked as she backed away from the spines, part of her thinking that the monster's behavior was actually rather cute. Silly, but really cute. At the request (well, it sounded like a request), the Demon nodded, moving in to remove first her Thermos from the branches before working on untangling her hair. Tucking her own hair behind her ears, Lizzy was careful not to get her own hair tangled up too. That would be too messy, seeing how long her hair is.
"Think you can get yourself free now? It might... Hurt a bit though." She straightened up, wincing slightly as she glanced at the bush; there were some knots impossible to remove without the use of a scissors, but she didn't want to risk ruining someone's hairstyle... She if yanked herself off the bush, she might be able to save some of her still-tangled up hair since it might not be as stuck as she previously thought.

Chuppi was more than thankful enough when the other person responded and actually started to help her get free, removing things and making it easier for her to shift her weight, so when enough had been moved that she could get loose on her own the chupacabra took advantage of it. With a grunt she arched her back and ripped part of the bush out of the ground, the part that had the more shallow of roots. Once it was up she could shake most of her body free, which she did, and Chuppi reached over and picked her Thermos back off. It quickly went into her mouth, a few strong sips of blood swallowed, and soon the little monster was looking up at the demon with her large, red eyes.
". . . . Gracias."
She gave a little bow of her head as though just doing that would convey enough of her gratitude, but it was always hard to tell with demons how they'd react to something. Even if this one seemed nice it didn't mean they wouldn't do something to her like that other one did. Or leave her stuck in a floor.
"It doesn't hurt me, getting scratched that is. My body is very strong and I have a high level of pain."

Hold on! That smell! While her sense of smell was not as sharp as a canine's (far from it, actually), it was sharp enough to catch a whiff of a most familiar scent - blood... And it was coming from the thermos?
"Grass see us?" She blinked, wondering what it was that the monster just said; it didn't make any sense! She had heard of the phrase 'the walls have ears' before, but not 'the grass have eyes'... Maybe she heard wrong? Giving a smile, Lizzy tilted her head to a side as she leaned towards the shorter ghoul, bending over slightly as she spoke, "Sorry, but mind repeating what you just said?"
She was distracted by the smell of blood after all; most insects don't go 'squish' the way most animals do, and the smell of blood... Well, she had always felt a little uncomfortable around large quantities of the red substance since it was difficult to wash off. The outfits she would be wearing to gym class and battles would be "disposable" ones for sure!
"Wow, really? You're strong!" Lizzy couldn't help commenting with a grin; had she been in a similar situation, she would probably be unable to untangle herself like that without shifting into her true form... Something she tried to avoid as much as possible. Unlike most "shape shifter" types, she didn't think her true form is very... Complimenting.

"Um, thank you. I am a monster and therefore we are stronger than most. Undeads are strong too, but I do not think they can beat a monster."
Unaware of (or maybe a bit uncaring even if she was aware) that her companion was a bit uneasy at the blood she was drinking Chuppi kept on sipping away at her snack, her body demanding more until her nerves were completely satisfied. She'd likely drain whatever was left in the red object dry before she was even half-calm, but it was unlikely that this demon would wait. Friendly or not, a demon was a demon.
"I'm sorry about the bush though. I know how you are about the plants on school. You being demons? I know so few demons. Please don't hurt me."

She subtle took a small step back as she stared at the student standing near her; how can such a small thing drink so much? Perhaps blood to her is like insects to Lizzy?
"Hurt you? Why would I do that? Its not like I have anything against you!" Lizzy laughed, shaking her head as she looked at Chuppi, an amused smile on her lips; monsters sure are interesting! However, her smile faded into a slight frown as she added, her tone more serious than before, "Although I guess Demons do have that sort of a reputation... Don't go around assuming things in their face, just in case."
She then paused, smiling again as she relaxed again. Then, she gestured to herself with a gentle pat on her chest, "Elizabeth Baines, but please call me Lizzy."

Chuppi's whole body visibly flinched at this "Lizzy's" words about not being judgmental to a demon's face, something the chupacabra likely wasn't thinking of when she was talking, and she was more than thankful and aware that this particular demon seemed to be pleasant. Most others she had met would either try to take things from her or leave her in horrible positions, such as the floor, but this one had helped. Maybe it would be best if Chuppi payed attention and didn't offend so easily by being slightly careless.
"My...my name is Chuppi. Yo soy una chupacabra."
It was weird, she was getting so used to being called by her family nickname that she hardly used her actual name anymore; people might be surprised to find out that she was actually named Temes and not something else. Perhaps it was because of the influx of non-Spanish speaking students here at Amityville that she did such things, finding "Chuppi" was easier to say and pronounce than her actual name. People didn't have to stumble over how it should sound and then she didn't have to be asked what it meant. Of course "Chuppi the Chupacabra" sounded really. . . typical in terms of a nickname sense, but it was what her family had named her.
"I'm sorry again. I. . . "
Chuppi hiccuped and watched as a blood bubble popped from inside her mouth. Such an incident wasn't really common but it certainly wasn't rare; the side effect was that every time it happened the little monster wanted to laugh regardless of the situation. Another bubble soon followed as it became apparent she'd given herself a case of the hiccups by eating too fast, and the monster's body shook with each tremor and bubble that popped up and out. She did manage a chuckle in between each small spasm, and she looked at Lizzy to see if the demon found it as funny as she did. Chuppi doubted it, if this person maybe didn't like blood?
"I -hic- probably ate too fas -hic -. Does...does this happen to -hic- you? I must not be setting a good - hic- example."
Well it wasn't like they had anything else to talk about anyway, considering the chupacabra had put her proverbial foot in her mouth with the 'you be demons' comment.

Lizzy didn't understand what the monster said right after giving her name, but she did catch the word 'chupacabra'. She had heard of them from her mother at least, although she had never met one before Chuppi - small, and thus, looks weak, but in reality, is actually strong... Kind of reminds her of her spider thread. She beamed at at fellow student, "Nice to meet you then, Chuppi! Is that another language you slip into sometimes? I can't seem to understand it."
She then shook her head, letting out a soft chuckle as she shrugged, "Its no problem! I mean, even I don't see eye to eye with the ideals of my own kind sometimes... Just be sure to be careful next time, okay?"
When the blood bubble appeared, Lizzy seemed to freeze, staring at it through widened eyes as though she was staring at the most shocking thing in the world. Don't pop, don't pop, don't po- Ah, snap. She heaved a sigh of relief, however, when she realized that the blood did not get on her skirt. As a second, third, fourth bubble appeared and popped, Lizzy started to see the funny side to it, although she was still wary of the fact that the red liquid might get on her clothes.
She giggled as another bubble went 'pop', but tried to stifle her laughter as she shook her head, "Ah no, its the first time I'm seeing this! I mean, I've suffered from hiccups before, but they don't form bubbles!" She giggled again at the mention of the bubbles, "I guess you learn something new everyday!"

"I speak Spanish - it is my native language. I will try to only speak English for you, so please do not worry? I sometimes slip into Spanish when I am nervous. I get nervous a lot though . . ."
Did this demon really not like blood? The only other demon Chuppi had ever some across at this point in time (outside of classes anyway) had tried to take her Thermos for its contents, and they seemed more than delight by the red liquid. While this "Lizzy" certainly wasn't upset at the hiccup blood-bubbles, she was laughing at time, she did back away when they started. Was there something offensive too about what she was doing? Her companion had said everything was okay but the little monster wasn't so sure.
"I -hic-"
Chuppi frowned. When she was explaining herself about speaking Spanish to the other girl the hiccups and blood-bubbles had vanished but now that she was trying to say something else she hiccuped again. It was weaker than before and didn't produce a bubble or anything, Chuppi's stomach having settled down to the point where such things couldn't be made anymore. Her frown likely looked as adorable as her smiles, her little red eyes wavering with the emotion of unhappiness. Why did her body need to be so weird?
"I could show you how to blow blood bubbles, if you wanted. It's actually not so hard to do without having to hiccup."
She'd been taught by her older brothers and younger ones too, so Chuppi had gotten pretty good at it. She could blow them out of her mouth and her nose, sometimes at the same time! It was amazing and her siblings sorta liked her for it.

"Spanish? That explains it!" Lizzy smiled; she had not met another bilingual person before, or at least, she did not know if anyone she knew was bilingual... How do they manage to not mess up anyway, swapping from one language to another while speaking?
"Oh, no, no," Lizzy looked a little troubled as she offered a small smile, looking slightly embarrassed, "Ah, well- Ah... I really appreciate the offer! I mean, its a neat trick that I would love to show off to my friends, but..." She paused, heaving a sigh, "I don't drink blood... The spider part of me adores insects, and the demon part of me... Well, prefers taking energy as food rather than blood, although I guess that has the same effect on most creatures - it makes them feel faint."
She paused again, twirling a lock of hair around her finger as she shuffled her feet; she usually don't go so much into details, but Lizzy felt that she owed Chuppi a sort of explanation, seeing how the Monster seem to enjoy blood. She forced a chuckle, smiling sheepishly as she continued, "Its kind of weird, I know, since many Demons seem to like blood, but its just not for me... Sorry, Chuppi."

"Don't like blood? Okay then."
As suddenly as they had started, the blood-bubbles stopped. The chupacabra thought it really, really weird that this demon didn't like to drink blood, but she wasn't going to force and issue and make someone else uncomfortable because of her own personal preferences. Such a thing had been a painful lesson for Chuppi to learn long ago when she was younger, a lesson in respecting the differences of others. A flashback was not in order since she didn't like thinking of the memory, instead she was going to move on.
"It's not so weird. I am only able to eat blood so it does not bother me. Talking objects bother me, and things that are taller bother me. Your tastes are okay with me, because you're a nice demon. I like you."

That was surprisingly easy! At once, the Demon looked rather relieved.
"Only blood? Are you able to find enough of it around here?" Lizzy asked, mildly surprised at the fact that Chuppi had been able to find enough to sustain herself till now. Then again, since there are probably many blood drinkers in the school, it might be possible that they are selling blood in the school cafeteria and she had missed it.
"Things that are taller?" Lizzy echoed; well, it must be intimidating to be smaller than everyone else, especially in such a large school- And aw! Lizzy almost melted (well, figuratively) at Chuppi's comment; they had only met once, after all! She eyed the spines on her body, wishing to give the Monster a hug but didn't want to risk impaling herself. Ah, ah... Maybe if she gave a warning first.
"That's so sweet of you!" She beamed, possibly looking very much like a scene straight out of a horror movie (like those Japanese animations) as she lowered herself to Chuppi's eye level, "I like you too, Chuppi. You're an awesome monster!"
