She'd born five cubs. And of those five, only three ever got to meet their father. Pwani shook her head, standing outside the borders of the Sanc, where it became the rogue lands. One cub lost because of a foolish bet she'd made, another...another she'd lost. The white and brown lioness sat, sighing a moment. She was far from the little cub who'd gone dashing about with her 'cousin', visiting their crocodile friend on the outskirts of a coalition.
Now she was a Fighter-to-be in the Simbafutaji, who'd borne cubs on her First Seeking to an infuriating pacifist she couldn't help but love. She frowned. Perhaps she'd go bug Imani and Guiv once the cubs were grown, and after she'd checked in with her mother. Check on her 'cousin' and see if Guiv had held his territory.

Mlinzi had been traveling. She traveled slowly. Without a destination, what need was there to rush? Right now the crocodile goddess was moving over land, between one water source and another. She had left her beloved river behind, but that was all right. There would be another river, eventually.
She did not move exactly like a lion, although she looked somewhat lion-like. She moved more sinuously, rhythmically, her body swaying and shimmying like a crocodile. More slowly than a lion, as well.
Seeing a spotted female lion, Mlinzi paused. Her head came up, alert. She couldn't say why she was interested in the lioness. Maybe the lioness could be food, although Mlinzi wasn't really hungry. Maybe the lioness would tell her where some nice water was. Maybe Mlinzi was just bored. Whatever the reason, she turned and began her leisurely walk towards the lioness.

Pwani blinked, spotting the odd...was that a lioness? Or some sort of goddess? Or...okay.
Now Pwani was utterly confused. What on earth WAS that creature? Reminded her of a croc, though. Hmm. Well, where she was, she figured it would do to be halfway polite. "Heya!" If the creature felt like trying to pick a fight or eat her....
Well, Pwani wasn't THAT stupid. She was a quick bugger when needed.

Ignoring the greeting, Mlinzi continued strolling towards the strange lioness. If Mlinzi had cared, she would have noticed that the lioness seemed confused.
The crocodile goddess didn't care, though. Lionesses were generally pretty interchangeable. After a few moments she reached the lioness and stood a little distance away, studying her with unblinking golden eyes.
Now that Mlinzi had reached the stranger, she wasn't sure what she wanted to do. Lions were not very tempting at the hungriest of times, and she certainly wasn't hungry enough to lunge at the lioness now. Mlinzi briefly considered taking a nap while she thought it over, but this wasn't prime napping real estate.
That left ... talking. "Hello, lion," Mlinzi said softly. "I see you are a female." That was how mortals spoke, wasn't it? The exchanging of painfully obvious remarks?
