Loyd walked slowly into the lab, his eyes scanning the paper before him to ensure that it was still the right address. Clinging tightly to his pant leg with a bear in his other hand, a young toddler looked around the building with a bit of awe. It was much bigger than his house at home and even the daycare, and had so many pretty things. He hardly remembered the place from when he was growing up, only remembering the fun things Loyd had taught him.
Turning his eyes back toward his 'father', Aleric smiled a bit sweetly "Pappy and mammy are here, yes?" He asked with a tilt of his head, letting go of the pant leg to squeeze his bear closer yet. The bear still had no name, but it was no less important to the boy.
"Yes, your parents are here, and you need to meet them so they teach you all about your blood and such....at least that's what they want...you really are going to be able to play for a bit..."
Aleric blinked again before grinning and swinging his bear, "Yay play!".

They were greeted at the door by a very frazzled looking rainbow haired girl with tan skin. Jillian blinked at the pair, not having expected any visitors today. "Oh, hello." she said in surprise, blinking a bit before smiling.
"Who're you two here to see?" she asked cheerily, tail swishing through the air behind her.

The adult looked at the girl with multi-colored hair. He stared for a long moment, expecting a more human-type worker much like the one who dropped Aleric off. Moving closer to her, he cleared his throat before speaking, "Let's see...Aleric here was asked to come in and meet one of his donors...Either the foo-dog or the fairy..."
He looked down to his son and smiles, before looking back toward the girl, "I'm Loyd by the way...his father..."

Jillian nodded a bit, "The Foo Dogs are presently very busy and require an appointment beforehand for a meeting, but you can meet our fairy." the girl assured the two, leading them back towards the rooms in the labs where the donors could be found. Her tail swished a bit behind her and on her way in, she passed an older woman in a labcoat who looked questioningly at the two.
"Hey Ma, they're here to see Miari." Jillian told Apoxi calmly, pointing back to Loyd and Aleric.
The brunette shook her head a bit, "Go right ahead. She's having tea with Ann and Shani. Just try not to startle her." the little woman stated, pointing towards one of the doors.
This door led to a room separated into four sections. One was a large jungle section with thick trees, another a soft brightly lit meadow that led off to a forest. Near that was a dark area with a lake, a small cottage, and large puffball flowers. The final area was where the majority of the people in the room were congregated - a large and elegant looking living room draped in silks and with large plush eats and beautiful wood and gold furnishings.
It seemed like the only actual room in the room, so to speak, and there sat three young women or what was most likley women. The one was purple skinned and had large wings on her back, a pleasant looking little thing who was barely larger than a barbie, fluttering and chattering over her cup of tea and a cupcake. The second was a rather lightly muscled pink skinned person with heavy makeup, long black curls, and a soft wispy tail. The final one was obviously the fairy however, with her brown hair and blue puffballs, the only one barely talking out of the three as she relaxed on a cushion.
She was lovely, thin and soft, with large wings and an almost frail figure. Her eyes were soft and intelligent and she seemed at least interested in the conversation, albeit without much to say. On spotting the group slowly approaching, she nodded to them, a bit torn between saying hi and inviting them over, or just going to say hello there.
The sprite solved this by immediately fluttering over to squeal at them. "Hello there! You're here to see Miari aren't you? Come sit with us! We're having tea with Shani to help them get settled!"

Loyd followed the girl and glanced to the woman as they passed, nodding to her with a half smile as he was tugged along by his son. Aleric seemed quite content with following the older girl, curious at every single sight that he walked by. He didn't mind that he didn't get to see his Foo-parent, because he would get to see someone.
So, when they entered the room, he let out a gasp of amazement and seemed to titter about, lifting his bear to show him all of the cool sights of the multi-designed room. However, when the three creatures came into view, he quickly silenced and watched them interact, moving slightly closer to his father. Loyd grinned slightly and patted his head, looking them over and trying to figure out which one fit with his son.
When the sprite moved over, Loyd suddenly blinked and brushed his son's head, letting out a little nod before looking toward Jillian, "Should I be here...or should Aleric interact on his own?"
I mean really, he didn't seem too content with joining them for tea, he'd much rather go outside and relax in the sun.
Aleric, on the other hand, seemed a bit nervous so he moved even closer to his father, caught between waiting for Jillian's answer and watching the women before him.

Jillian looked around for a bit, thinking. "You can go ahead and go wait outside. I'll bring Aleric out when he's done. Miari's not as comfortable around adult males some days." she assured the other before reaching down to pick up the toddler.
"Come on, hon, we can go meet your Mommy. Don't worry, she's very nice."

Letting out a visible sigh, Loyd turned to his son and patted the boy on the head, along with ruffling his hair a bit.
"Alright Al...I'll be just outside...have fun with your mother okay?" Smiling, he stood to full hight and made sure Aleric nodded, before walking out the way they came in.
Aleric seemed very distraught as soon as his father went out of sight. He held his teddy closer and let Jillian pick him up, though moved over her shoulder to see if Loyd would come back. When he didn't, Aleric turned back to the women, his sage eyes watching with a spark of curiosity.
"Which is mamma?" He asked after a long moment, trying to see who would step forward, and wondering if it was the hyperactive sprite who greeted them first.

The fairy slowly excused herself from the conversation, noting her spawn seemed very shy, and approached gingerly with a hand outstretched. She lightly pet one of Aleric's ears before speaking, her voice floaty and free.
"Hello small one." she said, the term not meant as anything more than a description, "I am called Miari. I believe I'm the one you're referring to as 'mamma'." She was gentle with him, brushing his hair out of his eyes and doing her best to not frighten the lad. Poor baby was probably scared stiff of all these strangers.

Aleric watched silently as a fairy-woman seemed to float toward them, still clinging slightly to Jillian as he waited to see what would happen. Being in such a young stage in life, he had yet to see most of the world, so any new sight was alarming to his sensitive mind. Usually, when he went to see someplace new, Loyd was always there holding his hand and being his support. But now that his guardian was gone, it was Aleric's time to find a support structure in himself.
And that was by stepping outside of his box.
As Miari moved to touch his head, Aleric did not move back, but simply watched and nearly let out a purr when she moved to rub his ears. Her actions soothed him in a way he was not used to, not having a mother around since Loyd still was as single as ever. But Miari was familiar, warm, and made the toddler feel at ease instantly with her soft words and actions.
"I'ma Aleric, but daddy calls me Al..." The toddler said as he moved his one free hand away from Jillian and touched his chest, before adding in an after thought while gesturing to his bear, "This is Bear!"
He cuddled the bear after his statement, and watched Miari a moment longer.

Miari continued to gently stroke his ears, her fingertips brushing them tenderly. She got along much easier with less exuberant children, and one that required gentleness rather than a lot of energy was just something she handled better. Her voice was tender as she spoke to the tot, "Hello Al...Hello bear." she stated gently. "May I hold you?"

Al turned his head toward the side to glance at Jillian, before turning back and nodding to the fairy. This was why he was here, to get to know one of the two parents who created him. Though he didn't know it that term, he did understand from Loyd that he has more people who love him very much, and want to get to know him as he grows.
So, he took a chance to trust the fairy and held out his arm toward her, making sure Bear would be joining them as well.

She took him into her arms and cuddled the boy a bit, rocking him some and fluttering over to a seat a little ways away from the group so he wouldn't be startled. "What is your home like? Is it happy?" her voice was tender and soft as she addressed him, trying to keep the boy comfortable.

pAl settled into the fairy's arms, his small body finding it's own little niche in her hold. As they moved, he relaxed even more, cuddling Bear close and his ears twitching as soon as she spoke up.
He blinked his soft green eyes up toward her face, before giving a bright smile and perking a bit, "Yes! Daddy gives me lots of toys and we take lots of trips to playgrounds and orchards! We have fun! I picked apples and they tasted soo good!"
He even licked his lips like he saw Loyd do sometimes when the man was hungry as if to confirm his point.

Miari listened with rapt attention and nodded at the right parts, intrigued by his descriptions. "Apples are good. I prefer nectarines though." the fairy commented in an offhand manner. "Do you spend time in the garden a lot? Nature deserves our love, after all."

He tilted his head again as he listened to her soft voice and words, much different than Loyd's rough one. Maybe this is why she was a mommy and Loyd was a daddy, or so he assumed.
"We don't have a...garden...do you have a garden? Can I see it?" He asked, unsure exactly what she meant but quite curious since she seemed to want him to pay attention to it. At that age, he was more than willing to try something any guardian or adult urged for him to do.
