Kai sighed as he sat on the ground and scratched the back of his ear. It was twilight, his favorite day of the day. He always found it so beautiful to look up into the night sky. He smiled to himself. After leaving the tribe his daughter had joined, he'd wandered through the forest. He was lonely sure, but he was immensely happy for his daughter. She had finally found a man worthy of her love. And Altair was so kind to her children.
Though if he hadn't been, there was much Kai would have had to do to alter that. He grinned to himself. The thought sent a shiver down his spine. Altair was a very intimating fox, and twice his size to boot. He just thanked his lucky stars that he was such a good man. Standing up he walked over to the edge of a cliff and stopped dead in his tracks. Right there below him was the most beautiful maiden he'd ever laid eyes on bathing in a hot spring.

Ellica sighed in relief as she sat in the hot spring. It had been good fortune to find it. She had been walking for days and with the cold nights she wasn't sure if she could handle them. She had left her home in search of other foxes and so far she had yet to find one. Finding this spring meant she could bath in pice and not get cold.
She sank further into the spring with her eyes closed. She knew eventually she would have to get out. Though the key word used here was eventually. She figured after her long travels she deserved some relax time to herself.

He knew it was wrong to peek on an unsuspecting vixen, but come on, he was a male after all. Call him a stalker if you like, he called it curiosity. Creeping closer to the hot spring, he settled himself behind a bush and used his paw to push apart a small gap for him to look through.
She was so beautiful in the moonlight, by far the most magnificent creature he had ever laid eyes on. His eyes drifted across her body before settling on her eyes. A glowing yellow that he found rather charming. Smiling to himself he moved to get closer when everything went wrong. His hind leg stepped on a twig, which of course made a rather loud snapping sound.

As she soaked he self she couldn't help but think about all the things that had happened in her life and how lonely she had been. She had seen other foxes around with their mates and it seemed like she was the only one with out one. She had ventured out on her own to get away from it all. As she sat there she soon jumped hearing the sound of a twig snap. She quickly turned toward the sound. "Who's there?!"

"Oops.....got caught...." Kai made a comical face as he walked out of the bushes, his tails whisping in the air. "Um....hello...." He held up a paw, "I didn't mean to frighten you, my beautiful vixen." He smiled flirtatiously at her.

Ellica comically glared at the fox. She figured there was someone watching her. This fox wasn't exactly the quiet sneaking type. She then glanced to the side. Why was it she always attracted the peeping toms and weirdos? "Save it peeping tom." She looked back at him. "If you think I'm going to let you in here you got another thing coming. Beat it."

Kai's ears drooped as he his tail sunk between his legs. "Mm...I did not mean to offend you so my little blossom...." He turned, "I was just walking...and thinking...." He sighed. Frankly, Kai was lonely. And when he'd stumbled upon the beautiful vixen he had thought for a second....but no, it was foolish to think that way. "I will leave you..." He bowed his head, "Please forgive my rudeness, lovely blossom."

She blushed lightly at what the fox had called her. He seemed to be rather sad when she yelled at him to leave. Too sad to be apart of the group that had been harassing her earlier. "Mm... wait." She called out to him as she stood up from the water. "Your not... apart of a group that lives near by are you?"

Kai cocked his head back to look at her, "I do not have a home blossom...." He whispered sadly. Occasionally yes he would go visit his daughter Farah, he had no idea where his other two children lived. But Farah and his two grandchildren always seemed happy to see him, at least for a time. He always could tell when he overstayed his welcome. "I do not know of the group that you speak of....I am alone..." The sadness in his heart seemed unbearable. It felt as if there was a hole in the middle of his chest.

"Oh... I see." Ellica looked away. She was mad at herself for yelling at a complete stranger when he didn't even belong to the group that had been harassing her. "I apologize..." She looked back up at him as her ears went back. "I... I thought you were apart of the group that had been harassing me for some time now..."

"Har....Harassing you?" Kai looked at her shocked, then his expression turned to appalled. "Who are these foxes? I will have to seek them out and teach them how to treat a beautiful, young vixen." His face hardened.

She blushed as she watched the fox before her. She was rather surprised at what he had said about the foxes. "Mm... No... no you don't have to do that... really..." She couldn't believe that this fox who had never met her was ready to stand up for her.

"I insist dear beauty....I cannot stand idly by whilst this group offends you so greatly. It is against my nature to allow a beautiful maiden be treated as anything less then a princess." He made a deep bow at her, "Please.....tell me where they live so I might set them straight on this matter...They will not bother you again."

Ellica was rather surprised. She had never met a fox like him before. She was sure she was having a dream. A fox that actually cared about her and the way others treated her? She nodded. "I... I don't know what to say..." She looked at him. "Mm... but... if your willing to help me... I will show you where they hang out." she walked out of the water and shook the water from her fur.

Kai smiled warmly, "It would be my pleasure to set those men straight..." He bowed his head, "I have two daughters, and i would never allow any male to disrespect them....Come lovely blossom, show me the location of these fiends and I shall set them straight for you."
