Quote: agnostic all of the officers I know are decent people go to movie: Rush Hour (a cop film) pro smoking ban pro national health care minor vandalism taken quite lightly dropped out of highschool, got GED dropped out of college because its a waste of money listens to Hanoi rocks (80s) and rise against (late 90s) Seen Hellraiser and Brazil knows who Houdini, and Bjork are Disgusted by Glenn Beck (a toad/puppet) Mother remarried Likes Belushi (70s-80s) White Male Lives near Mankato Minnesota I did this in about 20 minutes on Gaia on someone because I wondered if they were one of those undercover cops. Have you ever wondered how hard it is to profile someone with today's 'privacy settings' ? I think we need more privacy. Incidentally, I have no conclusion about the under cover cop question. But you may be able to guess. I've withheld their screen name to keep this somewhat objective.

Those things could have been private if he wanted it to be. I almost have all of my information about me on my facebook page available to friends, except for my address and schooling background, 'cause it's a long story. Haha. I can make things private or not so private if I wanted. Just because one person decided to let most people know some things doesn't mean every body does. But if he really is an undercover cop, isn't he doing his job BY keeping that private? And you said you never found out either. Lol

I know for a fact that there are undercover police officers on Gaia. I've interacted with one before. Complimented me on not giving out personal information in my aquarium. I doubt he realized that I'm in my 20s. rofl
As to the particular person you're talking about: I can't really make a judgment.

some of the info I gleaned was designed to tell me how old the person is. The names a person uses of various Hollywood actors, performers, politicians, and musicians actually change over the years. Religious affiliation tells a considerable bit about someone's perspective, and how a person views police is also pretty important. Some indicators pop up over and over, an undercover cop is more willing to give out advice because it's human nature to sound self important by knowing something useful, even if you don't explain why you know it. Healthcare and pot are politically charged and can be party indicators. So basically, you can figure out someone's age, whether they are a member of an extremist religious group, or an extremist political group. Knowing their education level can be an indicator of their income bracket and affiliations, which can tell you if the person is more or less likely to revolt - since modern education is a form of conditioning and higher income persons are less likely to want to "lose everything". Some bands are more libertarian, and others more conformist. Megadeth is quite popular with Truthers, while Rush and Boston are popular among the libertarians, especially in places like rural Pennsylvania. Location is something that has obvious benefits for profiling, but if you see several people in the same area, you can determine the potential hot spots. A conspiracy theorist is more likely to think of Beck as a puppet, while a conformist is more likely to think of him as a lunatic or dumbass.
These are just some inductive reasoning examples, and again, this was a 20 minute profile job. No matter how clever an officer is, something always slips out if they are posting like they are supposed to. Some of the stuff they will say won't be consistent, because they will fall out of character occasionally.

So, do you watch a lot of Criminal Minds or something? rofl
I like that show and I think profiling is pretty cool. While you can glean a lot of information from someone's text, that is only part of the picture. If you can't see their body language or their real-world habits then you could be missing a lot.
And there's always the possibility that the person is an oddball and there's no easy reasoning behind their words or decisions.

It's about a group of FBI profilers that catch serial killers. It's very psychological and a good show. Since you're so interested in profiling you might want to look it up online. biggrin

Well, go figure, the guy is actually quite cop friendly and definitely further away from my ideology than is effectively compatible.
