This place looked promising for raising cubs, and the rumors of the Na'vi pride lead here too. The more immediate thing was the need for a more cub friendly environment. But if she found the Na'vi in the process all the better. She looks at the trees and wonders what else will be in that forest further in.

If what she heard was right and they WERE in there, they were supposed to be pretty far in. She probably would not see any of them until long after they saw her anyway. They knew the territory. But she was pretty safe here on the edges. She sighs and slumps downward for a moment.

She needed a rest before she went any further. Clermeilli-Pie looked around she thought someone had just said something. She must be slipping if she wasn't sure on that. She lifts her head a little higher, looks in the direction of the sound and spots two familiar pelts. Her friends... but only two, where was the third?

Even on the edge of the jungle the environment seemed alien to Niade who had been raised on the much drier plains. The moisture in the air teased her nose or maybe it was the scent of so much vegetation. Her companion the lion Madzimoyo however seemed changed, drawn to the moisture like he was a plant himself. The markings on his leg seemed to glow brighter and it was a rare moment when the lioness wondered if perhaps Zimo acctually had been touched by some god or goddess. Her thoughts were interupted however when Zimo came to a sudden halt.

"Is that Clermeilli-Pie up ahead?" he asked probably a little louder than he should have since the lioness in question turned in their direction.
The fact that it was indeed their pregnant friend kept Niade's annoyance to a minimum and the two companions picked up their pace to join their friend.

She give a very feline smile as she watched the other two. "I see two friends... but where is the third?" She tilts her head to the side as she half sits, half lays there. Her belly was heavy and she had been walking for too long. She really needed to rest for a few moments. "Sorry, my paws ache, give me a moment."

When her friends draw close she nuzzles Zimo's leg and licks some fur down that's out of place. "You always seem to have tufts every which way, Zimo." She purrs as she puts the fur back into place. It was like taking care of a cub. Or interacting with her brother again. Zimo was silly and rather endearing. "How are you both? And what brings out to the jungle's edge?"

The two travelers drew close and grinned back.
Zimo smiled happily at the attention. "Thank you. I'll try to keep them in place better..." he replied lying down close to her to give her the option of using him as a pillow which she seemed to like.

Niade rolled her eyes a bit at Zimo's behavior, still it was cute and a bit endearing how he would do so much for Clermeilli-Pie's comfort. He really had learned his leason from the vain lion who had made her stalk away. "We're good. We were going about our usual travels and as we grew closer we've heard talk of this jungle and possibly a pride or some other secrets contained within."

"Yeah, it's strange being near a place that smells so much of water," Madzimoyo addded. "Belial wanted to come but... he's not really big on prides you know."

"Plus I think he's trying to keep a lookout for your demon. He doesn't think it's a good idea for them to run into each other."

Clermeilli-Pie moved to use Zimo as a pillow since he seemed so willing. She needed the rest anyway. She stretched her paws out as she laid on her side with her head on Zimo's side. "I came this way because of rumors of the pride in the jungle as well... but the more pressing matter was I did not wish to have the cubs where the sun would beat down on them so harshly."

She purrs and watches Niade. "It is a shame Beliel is not along... but I can understand his worry over Roth. I do not wish to see Roth start a fight over a misunderstanding." She tugged on Zimo's ear gently, licking it afterward. "I was raised near the swamps, so it is not so strange to me."

She looks close to falling asleep as she lays there, but she would be up shortly. It would at best be drifting off for a moment and then she would be wide awake again. She had been having trouble staying asleep lately, but such was the way of things. She figured it had something to do with how uncomfortable having cubs inside her was.

Niade sat close taking up a watchful pose to allow Clermeilli-Pie and Zimo to relax. The lioness looked exhausted and Zimo needed to be relaxed to make a cozy pillow.

"I can't help feeling like big brother isn't telling me something," Niade commented with a flick of her tail. "It seems weird for him to be worried about an encounter but not be worried about Zimo. We know Zimo isn't a threat but how is Roth to know?"

"I can be threatening if I need to be." Madzimoyo replied growling a little. He often grew tired of being underestimated, but if it meant he could protect his friends perhaps it was for the best. "I suppose I should just stay back and be all cringy though if Roth shows up. I don't want anything to happen to you Clerm or the babies."

Clermeilli-Pie was glad for the other lioness' presence. Zimo was not much use as a guard while he was serving as a pillow afterall. She purred as she drifted off to sleep, only to jerk away a moment later. And just like that she was wide awake as if she had never been tired in the first place.

She got up carefully and sat facing her friends. "Beliel seems the sort to only tell what he feels someone needs to know." She licks Zimo's cheek. "You can be, but it is best if you are not, Zimo... and besides, I can never take you as a serious threat the way you are always romping around like a cub. You are much too sweet." She purrs and nuzzles him.

"Roth will not harm the cubs... he has a use for them." Clermeilli-Pie watches Niade closely. "Do not worry too much over Beliel... or myself. Things will be well." She stretches and goes into the jungle a little farther. "Coming? I think I smell a pool of water near by."

Madzimoyo was quite surprised at how suddenly awake the lioness was. Pregnancy seemed to do strange things to a lioness. He wondered how she was able to handle so much of the situation in stride. He nuzzled her back and purred. "I suppose it is good to be considered sweet. I know I have a lot to learn but I'm not a cub," he said quite firmly.

Niade grinned at her friends. "You're right, but I can't help but worry sometimes. I admit to being curious about your demon but also having no desire to be around when he is. I'm glad though that we ran into you so we can be around if you need us."

At the mention of a pool of water Niade wrinkled her nose. "How can you tell?" she asked moving beside Clermilli-Pie while Zimo trailed behind guarding.

"I know you are not a cub, Zimo. I did not mean it that way... you just are playful like one much of the time that I see you." Clermeilli-Pie leads them right to a large pool of water fed by a little stream. "Water in the air smells different than on the ground." She purrs smugly. "And I was not raised where there was so little water... so I already know how to pick out the differences in smell." It was nice to be able to show off what she was good at. "You will learn it in time."

She leaned down to take a drink of the fresh, clean water. That was another thing she had not liked about the savanna. The water there was almost always muddy and stagnant. Not that the swamps did not have their share of muddy or stagnant water, just there was more water to be found there so not all of it was unpleasant.

It was nice to know that her friends were willing to stick around, even if not by her side constantly. She purred as she thought of that. It would make it a bit safer, and perhaps a little easier for her. She knew they would wander off together from time to time and then back since Clermeilli-Pie was slowed down by being pregnant. Even so if they said they wished to stay around, they were not likely to go too far from her in this condition.

Niade nodded in understanding. "Yes I suppose I need to accustom myself to this environment." The lioness wasn't quite sure what drew her into this strange place in search of a pride. Like her half-brother she didn't have much interest in joining one herself. Still it was interesting. "Life must be different here. I wonder what the hunting is like."

Zimo still wasn't sure he liked being considered cub-like. He lapped at the water though he wasn't really thirsty. It tasted different from what he was used to and he drank some more.
A tingle went through him and he laughed a bit. He always had been drawn to water and he stuck a paw in it splashing a bit. Before just holding it there a moment with his eyes closed, enjoying the feel of it.

Niade stared at her companion and edged closer to Clermeilli-Pie. "Is it a trick of the light or is his leg more glowy?"

((ooc: yeah it's probably the light...))

"What I have seen of the hunting so far, Niade is lots of small creatures, and more fat lazy ones." That had just been right near the edges, who knew what they would find farther in. "I think it will be very good hunting here." In her state, she could use all the advantages she could get. The extra weight slowed her down, and made her clumsy when it came to chasing things.

She regarded Zimo's leg for a moment when Niade commented about it. "It does seem to be glowing a bit, I suppose." Clermeilli-Pie shrugged, unconcerned really. Zimo's leg did not seem to her like a bad thing, glowing or not. It certainly did not bother her that it might be glowing all on its own.

Clermeilli-Pie sticks her paw in and splashes Zimo's leg with the water. She is careful to avoid getting his face, since that would be rude. She just wants to be a bit playful since he seemed to like that. She did feel bad about upsetting Zimo, especially when she had not meant for her comment to be taken the way it had sounded to the male.

Niade paused considering the hunting possibilities. It did sound like it had potential, but the hunting styles one used on the plains would certainly take some adaptation for the deeper jungle. She wondered if it would be worth the trouble to get used to a new environment. The lioness's mood was darkening probably due to her discomfort at not being able to trust her senses.

Clermeilli-Pie's unconcern about Zimo's glow reasured her a bit and Niade went to get a drink herself.

Zimo was startled out of his watery communion by Clermeilli-Pie's splash. He smiled and lightly splashed back. "I think I like this place."

Clermeilli-Pie purred and splashed Zimo again. "I know I do... it is... vibrant." And the many things to provide shade did not hurt any either. She did not mind the humidity that came with so much water. She was used to that from the swamps she had grown up near. She loved the fact that there were plenty of soft plants to lay on when she needed to rest.

"What do you think, Niade?" Clermeilli-Pie's mood was on a major upturn with the new surroundings and her friends still close by. Roth was only a distant problem for the moment, and could not shake her mood at the present time. Of course, Zimo no longer being mad at her did not hurt matters either. She really was glad he did not stay offended at her early slip.
