The road was twisted and more than littered with obstacles in its path, but Sailor Chibimoon was slowly working her way down it into some semblance of a quiet life here in Destiny City. She'd faced Sailor Pegasus and found the acceptance and quiet forgiveness she'd craved so much from the host of her reborn love. It wasn't friendship, but that would come with time and wasn't something that the lost princess had expected. Even thinking about it did bring a smile to the teen's lips as she moved through the shadows of Destiny City.

Some of the senshi these days chose to patrol in their civilian forms, hands on their henshin pens and ready to transform at the delicate scent that was youma or Negaverse interference into their world. Sailor Chibimoon was a creature of habit, however, and chose to do her duty fully transformed. More often than not it got her into a decent fight with a nasty monster out to steal the seeds of poor, unsuspecting civilians and she liked it that way. It was only a real pity that she hadn't yet run into one of the officers of the opposition, so she could send a happy little message back to the scary b***h queen that she no longer had protection from.

Yeah, it wasn't wise. But it was all she had, and all she could do!

Serandite had been sitting on a rooftop, a lollipop sitting complacently in her mouth as she watched the boring scenery pass by. Or more like, stand still since nothing was really moving. Nothing but a squirrel here and there. Perhaps something bigger like a stray cat. But something much bigger caught her eye-- a glimpse of a familiar pink hairstyle.

Very familiar. A hairstyle she had come to recognize well.

Her thoughts immediately recalled Black Lady from the strange forest. Serandite had meant to get into contact with her-- she really did. But with the events of Tartaros and Nealite's 'death,' Serandite hadn't had a time to spare to think of the comrade she made in Tartaros. With all the events, it had escaped her mind as well. She leaped off the branch she had been sitting on, eagerly calling out without fully checking. But that hairstyle couldn't belong to anyone else!

Serandite clutched her bunny to her chest, running after the small figure. Was the figure smaller than she remembered? Seemed so. Perhaps it was the distance that made it so?

"Usagi!"

The cheerful voice called out, Serandite's small frame coming into view behind Usagi, a wide smile meant to greet the other. Unfortunately, the smile froze when Serandite neared, halting short a distance away. The shock was obvious when she saw the clothes Usagi was in.

.. This .. was.. Usagi, right?

Hearing the name her parents had given her echo through the dark city streets had that pink head whipping around in confusion and more than a little bit of eagerness. Maybe there were more awakened souls here than they had thought? Maybe this was one of her friends? Breathless anticipation warred with caution and anticipation won out as pink-heeled feet carried her back towards the sound. Excitement turned to confusion, and then a dawning bit of light horror as one of her personal goals was reached.

She was meeting her first Negaverse officer....for the second time, apparently!

Gloved fingers tightened and ruby eyes showed disappointment that was (hopefully) quickly masked before pink lips tipped upwards. "Serandite. You remembered me! I wasn't sure that anyone from that place was really real, but I guess you are. Captain, right?" That meant that their powers were on-par, something that had previously been untrue for the Lady of the Death Phantom. Except the Lady was gone, and in her place was a slightly unsure-of-herself Super senshi who couldn't quite control her powers.

It was this personal revelation that had the teen standing rather stiffly despite the smile, hands knitting together at her waist nervously. It didn't feel right, to have this girl carry back a message to her queen after a royal butt-kicking. Chibimoon liked Serandite. How problematic!

Two girls in nearly identical positions. Serandite's posture was stiff as well, fingers clenching tighter into her bunny weapon. Had Usagi seen her bunny weapon? No. Serandite hadn't been able to summon it in Tartaros. But the girl knew of Serandite's infinite love through her accessories. Her fingers dug into the soft fabric, a smile frozen on her cheerful face. It had fallen for a split second when she recognized the white uniform of Usagi's--- had she seen that? Had she noticed?

Her thoughts were running along the same wheel Usagi's did. Serandite liked Usagi! This was problematic.

She replied, tried to do so normally, but it was obvious to the both of them that the amount of intimacy and familiarities between them before now changed to.. awkwardness.

".. Captain. Right."

A sad smile curved her lips, reminding her of her negaverse status. If only .. Well, was was the Black Lady she knew a scout now? It was regretful, really. Serandite didn't want to attack her friend. ".. .. I guess you got a new outfit? Personally, I'm sorry to say, I liked your old one better. But you're my height now!" Serandite tried to inject with amusement, her hand reached out similiar to a salute, in a gesture of height, measuring Usagi's and Serandite's own short stature. Or how Serandite would rather put it, vertically challenged.

Unable to help herself, Chibimoon's nose wrinkled up at the height comparison, Serandite's hand easily went over the Moon senshi's head. "You are the taller now, I am only about 148 centimeters tall. Ah." There was an almost absent look as the senshi tried to recall how tall that was in the Imperial system used here in America. "A little under five feet? My mama was very short." It wasn't unusual for her to be so very short in Crystal Tokyo, or even today's version of the city, but apparently American genetics were much more predisposed to height than Asian ones!

It was very hard for her to say the next words, and there was no real way to make it any easier than a conscious and physical step back away from Serandite. Things had never been this awkward before, she'd never known anyone before, and it was not comfortable. How did you tell someone you liked, who you wanted to be friends with, that you were now one of their mortal enemies? "It is actually a very old outfit for me. I am...well." The pose was like breathing, fingers in a vee sideways across her eyes.

"Sailor Chibimoon, Senshi of Love and Justice!" The declaration was usually loud, proud, and full of conviction. But when you didn't want to fight the person in front of you, what did you do? That wasn't something that Chibiusa had ever been taught, Sailor Moon had always refused to fight her friends and had instead simply taken a beating. Sailor Moon wasn't at all the smartest lightbulb in the box.

Shoot.

Old outfit? If it was anymore possible (and it was,) Serandite's face fell even further when Black Lady-- Usagi-- wait, no, Chibimoon made her declaration.

"Sailor Chibimoon, Senshi of Love and Justice!"

Officially saying it only made the situation worse. It made both of them face the fact that they weren't bunny comrades anymore. They were enemies standing in front of each other. It might have been conceited, putting Chibimoon on the same scale as herself when the girl had been so much more but Serandite would come to reflect later that they were almost like two similar sides of a coin. Both were shorter-than-average teenagers fighting for what they each wanted to fight for.

Serandite had officially lost her bunny-buddy. She should have been used to it by now. Bad guys aren't supposed to get attached. Because they always lost it. Struggle all you want, facts were facts. Serandite felt like she was always running into a wall, never being able to knock it down. Now she knew. It was impossible to knock it down.

"Captain Serandite." She stated formally, legs spread apart, tipping her head high, brown eyes looking down at the other's pose. (Or trying. She was barely making it.)

Serandite's expression struggled to harden, shaking her head, a poorly attempted scoff at Chibmoon's sphere. "Love and justice, huh? I guess Black Lady really is gone. It'll be easier to fight you in your silly white uniform." Serandite declared, voice mocking and condescension slipping in. But she was gritting her teeth as her bunny turned large, charging forward to Sailor Chibimoon. It wasn't a new situation for her, fighting against someone you liked. It happened with Ophelia. But this was different-- Usagi had been on Serandite's side. That made it different-- it made Serandite hope. It made Serandite think a friendship was possible. Ophelia, the possibility had been there but conversely, it had been impossible from the start.

But this experience being the second time didn't make it any easier.

It wasn't hard to evade something that was as big as a two-door coupe when you were barely five feet tall, Chibimoon simply dodged through its legs while firing back a retort at the girl she was already mourning as a friend, Negaverse Captain or not. They'd been in the weird place together, had survived together when others had not; the pang of Wiseman's memory was still just as fresh and painful, causing a falter in the senshi's step. "That is a little impressive. I wish I had one, but we do not get to pick what we are. I am what I am." It was the only way that the girl could apologize for the fact that they were going to be forced to fight each other.

Maybe, one day, she would have the power to fix that. Fix people the way mama had been able to fix them. That thought had her reaching up for her tiara and wincing internally at the same time. It was probably not going to be at all effective, but it was a sure bet, unlike the other weapons Sailor Chibimoon had at her disposal. "Black Lady is gone, but Serenity remains, I am Small Lady again as before. Moon Tiara Magic!" The shining disc flew out towards the automated rabbit, towards what goal the senshi couldn't name. Maybe if she talked fast enough, Serandite might back off.

And maybe, her papa might show up. Pigs might fly. She might wake up from this awful dream. She might speak French.

Lots of things weren't about to happen for Chibimoon.

"I am what I am."

Chibimoon's words cut straight and true, only making Serandite's face resolve harden even further. 'Small Lady'--It was a well chosen name for Usagi. She was certainly .. small. Somehow, her short skirt and long pink hair only emphasized that even more. Daughter of Serenity. if Serenity wasn't already lethal enough, she had a daughter too. How had the original team of senshi been? How long as the original negaverse been? If they were simply made up of kids now but experienced fighters back then, Serandite couldn't even imagine their skill level.

The tiara-- an attack that wasn't normally used in senshi attack nowadays, sliced through Loppy neatly and cleanly. Serandite only narrowly avoided it as it flew past her, now wide-eyed and her mouth left gaping open.

If that had hit her, it would have done far more damage than Serandite had expected--Serandite scowled at the gaping wound in her large weapon, hands held up defensively. "One thing hasn't changed. You certainly aim to kill." Serandite stated, lowering her arms slowly to examine the other a little apprehensively. Just like Black Lady's reaction to the man inside of the house at Storybook woods. "I didn't think you'd get serious that quickly." Serandite remarked, her hands linked together a little nervously, almost like a gesture of prayer.

It was obvious that even as both of them tried to fight, none of them really wanted to. Could one have a half-hearted fight?

The mild complaint about her seriousness, of all things, had the diminutive princess smiling with a tiny bit of mirth. It was a very strange thing to say when someone had attacked, but the statement on her aims was very accurate. "I do not like mistakes. If you toy with an enemy, you make them, and you die." Usagi had always rather toyed with her enemies, trying to get them to relent and willingly surrender. Her daughter was not so kind, nor so easy with the idea. Had an enemy surrendered mid-battle she would, of course, immediately halt her assault and do what she could to purify the person.

If she could.

"I have seen many mistakes. One of them is your queen." The tiara was gripped in her hands, sigil of the moon shining almost defiantly on her forehead in the dim light. "Was I not very serious before?" This has her frowning a bit in consideration - Chibimoon was certainly a bit more light-spirited than the Lady, wasn't she? That was a rather distressing thought, and not one at all she liked.

"I have seen many mistakes. One of them is your queen."

This brought a rush of defensive words to Serandite, lashing her arm out to emphasize her point. "My queen isn't a mistake. You call having your own ideals and goals a mistake?" Serandite retorted, memories of Nealite and Charonite floating through her mind. They weren't mistakes. Never would Serandite think so. But Beryl? Beryl was Nealite ... or at least her outer appearance was. Serandite couldn't bear to even think of Nealite as a mistake nor could she apply her thoughts to Beryl who had the same face. It seemed like a betrayal to their cause --- Nealite and General King Charonite believed in their Queen, hadn't they? They believed in the cause for the negaverse.

Serandite would too.

"You were. I merely forgot it's not a regular senshi I'm up against. I sorely underestimated you." She voiced softly, remembering the aura that Black lady had given off. Even changed to a senshi, it didnt mean battle experience waned. Serandite heaved a sigh that was far too big for her small frame, both hands covered her tired expression briefly, making her look like a very tired teenager.

"I'm going to pretend I never saw you here tonight. If I didn't see anything, it means that I dont have to fight anything." Serandite decided, fist hitting the palm of her hand as if it was a great solution to their current dilemma. It wasn't really. But for now, it was for Serandite. "I'm not a negaverse agent tonight-- I have a feeling none of us will win even if this battled ensued anyways." Serandite pointed out, large brown eyes looking pointedly at Chibimoon's tiara.

Of course, that wasn't to say what might happen next time.

Times Chibimoon Wished She Was In Japan: Number steadily climbing. It would have been so much easier to retort in a language she was familiar with, explain to this girl why Beryl was wrong and everything needed to stop. That she had been tricked and this was not ever what Endymion had wanted for his planet, nor would ever want for his planet! Well, her planet as well. She was his daughter, had been born here, and knew it well enough through both him and Helios.

The earth did not need Queen Beryl. In the slightest. Nor did it really need her, but as long as there was Chaos to combat, she would be there to fight it. There was nothing left to do, in the end of all things. At least, until someone showed up with miraculous answers!

Trying the best she could, Chibimoon shook her head. "Goals are not. Death is bad. I do not kill, you should not kill. Beryl likes the death. So much death, all over Earth. Prince Endymion would not approve." Her mouth was in a fine line, nodding as her point was made and Serandite expressed her regret in underestimating Chibimoon. It was something that happened often, and usually for the better.

Unfortunately, the Moon senshi didn't want to hurt Serandite. Purify her certainly, make friends with her all over again definitely, but not harm her or kill her! Putting a white glove over her eyes for a minute, Chibi smiled. "See no evil. I do not see a Negaverse agent. Just a girl from a dream. Maybe I am asleep?" It was a sad smile, but a bit lighter than before; the less fighting she had to do, the better!
PostPosted: Wed Nov 24, 2010 11:37 pm

"Prince Endymion..?" She tipped her head in a questioning manner. She apparently didn't have any recognition of the name-- Of course, who would have? It was a long ago past-- and you didn't need to know Beryl all that well to know that she never shared her past. Especially not about a fallen love that had fallen for Serenity. This information remained unknown to the current generation at this moment-- perhaps it might be elaborated .. or not. If one knew Beryl, her only words were about her goals and the future. But going back to the current situation at hand-- Serandite couldn't ask Chibimoon to change nor could Chibimoon ask Serandite to change either.

Serandite couldn't stop killing for Chibimoon. That was asking too much in itself. Unless the situation changed, clearly, it wouldn't.

"A girl from a dream, is it? Collecting apples, weren't we? As I recall, a few of them weren't the.. liveliest of apples." Serandite dryly referred back to the incident where there had been skulls-- not apples. A gruesome sight indeed. Whose skulls had that been? Piece it together.. apples.. forest.. Snow white..dwarfs?

The horror.

A shudder ran through the girl at the thought of the 'white apples' that had been lying in the middle of the road. "I still will not eat apples after that. I am sad that we had to meet like that, if it is going to end like this. But I am not sad I met you." Backing away, Chibimoon's eyes scanned the area as she looked up and away for a easy ledge to hop upon. Finding a sturdy roof of a local business, the sheer pink ribbon fluttered at her back like a jellyfish's tentacles, or a butterfly's wings.

Standing atop the building, there was a respectful curtsy and salute before the girl headed off into the dark. Staying any longer exposed both girls to a situation that wouldn't be pretty to face, and truth be told, Chibi didn't quite feel like fighting any longer. Youma be damned there were more than enough senshi, even bad ones, out to handle them that night.

It didn't take long before Allie Williams was pushing at her bedroom window, crawling inside and curling up in bed. There were no tears, just the feeling that no matter how hard she tried, she was still drowning. But then, who ever said being a senshi was easy?
