 Even since that night Varia had been avoiding the slaves like a plague, and since there was nothing new there it did not cause any suspicion. Casimir had attended to her as per her orders and ever since then she just wanted to go violently kill something - be it Cas or someone else. Oh she did want puppies, and while she hated him for a number of reasons she had to admit, only to herself of course, that of all the males available to her within the pack he was the best should could get. They would never be mates, Varia was tied to her work not to a male, but if things went right then their night together would not have been for nothing. Of course she would kill him if she had a litter of sons like her sister had, but that was getting ahead of herself, as there was no way to know whether their little romp in the forest had even took.
With a growl Varia shook her head, she did not want to think on that now, the winter was fast approaching and the newer members were still weak in the training field. What did she need to do to make them show their full potential? And if what they were doing now was their full potential then the pack did truly need good strong blood to be added. If she had to endure having puppies to do just that then so be it. Scenting the air Varia was in the mood to hunt, snapping the neck of some small innocent creature was just the thing to put her back in a good mood - or at least a good mood for Varia's standards. Catching the whiff of a rabbit Varia padded off in it's direction, it was still a good distance away.

Except...he couldn't help but grin, a little ruefully, and the satisfaction Varia would feel at knowing she'd squashed his ability to enjoy himself so thoroughly. Finishing with a series of errands some other Sister had put him to, he sniffed at the late summer air and tried to figure out what, exactly, he ought to be doing right now. Maybe...refresh the toys in the nursery, a little, toss out the scraps of wood, bone and hide and bring in a bit of new material. Gathering up the most pitiful of these odds and ends, he set off at a comfortable trot to a less-traveled bit of territory in which he could dispose them.

With the rabbit now close Varia slowed her pace slightly, and made sure not to step on any twigs that would give her away and scare the small beast off. Not that she didn't mind chasing down a rabbit, but she just wanted to kill something not play catch with it so to speak. Of course she hadn't expected to encounter a noisy brute either, and when the sound of another approaching reached her ears it in turn alerted the rabbit. The small brown creature took off like a rocket away from the sound, and Varia was in no mood to chase after it now. No, she was going to see just who had interrupted her hunt. If it was one of the new sisters then they would be getting a double lesson in walking quietly today.
Stalking off in the direction that the noise had come from Varia scented the air as she moved. Oh great, it was a male - and one that she recognized all too well. The last wolf she had expected to run into out here was Casimir. Coming to a stop she let her eyes fall upon the maned male, a cold stare being her first greeting. "What the hell are you doing out here?"

Cas started visibly at Varia's sudden cold-eyed appearance, , the reflexive bite of his jaws sending a couple of bone bits to scatter over the ground. He worked hard to slow his racing heart, just standing for a moment with his mouth full of junk, but quickly managed to gather himself, and contritely drop his mouthful onto the ground. "I was disposing of some refuse, Sister," he said, a little miserably, and didn't dare raise his eyes past the warrior's ankles.

Disposing of refuse, go figure. Still she couldn't help but make a job at him. "Getting rid of yourself are we? You won't be missed." Of course if their night together did result in anything she would then have a constant reminder of him. Giving her head a shake Varia didn't want to think of that right now. Eyes ticked to the bones that he had placed on the ground and then back to him. "You sacred off my meal." Not that she really cared, but again she did like to have any excuse to yell at him, though she was not yelling - yet.

Cas faked a smile at her jab, even gave his tail a bit of a good-natured wag. But his heart jumped again at the news that he'd spoiled a hunt for her, and he fought back a nervous swallow. "I apologize, Sister," he replied contritely, "that was poor timing on my part." He looked worriedly down at the old nursery toys for a moment, and then hopefully back to Varia. "If you'd like, I can catch you something?"

That smile and tag wag infuriated her more than his ruining of her meal. Always smiling, always having a good time, it was sickening. "Have you catch a meal for me?" She half laughed, the idea was just preposterous. "And have you sully the meat by touching it, no I think not. I was not hunting to eat, I was hunting for pleasure." She did still want to snap some poor creatures neck and unless a rabbit or other small critter happened to wander by in the next few seconds the likelihood of that neck being Casimir's was becoming greater. "Get back to work, you slack off enough as is."

"Of course, Sister." Downcast, he spent a quick second trying to figure out where Varia was headed next, and then began to gather up his little bundle of junk. He'd never thought he would ever regret just knowing someone, but the idea of having Varia stay in his life sure seemed ominous. Keeping his eyes to himself and his ears listening for the warrior, Cas began to skulk his way elsewhere to dispose of his burden.

It was bound to happen one of these days, and it seemed it was going to happen now. Something snapped within her as Casimir turned away to dispose of the bones. Launching herself towards him and his unsuspecting back Varia had her teeth aimed at his spine, snapping at the bone as her weight came down towards him. If he didn't move away she could likely paralyze him with this single move and then leave him alone in the forest to die a slow death. Knowing her luck though the b*****d would probably move just enough that it wouldn't be a perfect blow and ruin her day even more.

Very luckily for Cas, his back was not quite unsuspecting. Those nervous ears heard something sinister, and he got the fright of his life as he turned to see the she-wolf leaping towards him like he was a goddamn rabbit. With a yelp and a flurry of scraps of bone and hide, Cas jolted forward and rolled, his big paws pistoning outward in an attempt to glance some of Varia's blow off of him.

The fact that he even attempted to divert her attack meant she needed to kill him here and now. "You b*****d!" She snarled as his paws did mostly what they intended and caused her to miss him with her teeth. Well she wouldn't let that happen a second time. Jaws snapped at those front limps that he was using to protect himself from her initial attack. Meanwhile her paws landed on either side of him, restricting just how much he would be able to move without bumping into her. Muscles rippled under her fur, as she stood over him, the look in her eyes was of absolute anger and hatred.

If he'd had the time to reflect on it, Casimir's instinct for self-preservation would have surprised him more than a little - he had never been anyone's prey animal before, but he was doing a hell of a job of it. He flailed his forelegs, trying to keep them out of the grasp of her jaws, and in doing so twisted around again, using her body as a point of contact from which his hind legs could eject him. Scrabbling, he gained a few spare inches away from her and was on his feet, streaking like a bat out of hell back toward the den site.

Yes, he was going to die, of that she was certain now. How dare he run away, could he not take his beating like a good little slave? As he used her for leverage to get away quicker Varia was already in the motion of chasing him down. Well trained muscles carried her almost effortlessly as she chased down her prey, closing the distance between them quickly. He may think he could make it to safety but he was wrong. Even if he did make it to his den, well then he would just end up cornering himself in it.
When she was close enough to him to strike again Varia reached out with one of her front paws with the intent to trip him, and anticipating that would happen as planned she also aimed her jaws at where he should fall. You would never know by what was happening now that they had spent a night together in an attempt of bringing new lives into the world.

Despite his desperately pumping legs, he felt Varia come inexorably on behind him; he rolled an eye back to watch as she snarled and tripped up his gait, and as he crashed his shoulder back to the ground his jaws snapped like an alligator's, seeking out some purchase on his attacker.

Watching him fall to the ground was a beautiful sight. Didn't matter that he was trying to fight back, he was still weak compared to hear, besides any small injury he caused to her would heal in no time, though she couldn't say the same for what she wished to do to him. When his teeth brushed the flesh of her left leg Varia growled loudly and aimed her own teeth at his neck. Her legs remained where they were, let him bite her, that wouldn't stop her. Besides if she did get a hold of his neck he wouldn't be able to do much of anything after that.
