The palace is the home of Karol, the ruler of this city. She lives there with her younger sister Butterfly. Most times civilians are not aloud in the Palace, unless summoned. And that usually was not a good thing.

Butterfly began to run around in the entrance. The floors had recently been cleaned, perfect for slipping around. "Yay! This is so fun!" Butterfly's shouts of joy could be heard throughout the palace.

 Karol walked swiftly into the entrance room and caught her sister before she slammed into a wall. "Butterfly! Be careful" she said fiercely. "Don't hurt yourself...again" Karol was very protective over her sister, knowing if anything happened to her, Karol could only blame herself.

Butterfly pouted "Okay sister." Leaning up and giving her sister a kiss on the cheek, Butterfly ran up the stair, getting ready to slide donw the banister. "Sister watch!" Butterfly began to slide down.

"Butterfly!" Karol gasped, as she began to slide. Butterfly landed on at the same time General Vortak was coming out of his quarters. Karol flinched as the two collided. "Ugh, Butterfly" she sighed, as Vortak picked himself up, steadying Butterfly as he did.
"No harm done Your Majesty" he reassured Karol who hurried over to inspect her sister.

Butterfly blushed as she was steadied by the stranger. "Hello, I'm Butterfly." She smiled at the man. Holding out her hand, she looked at her sister, who seemed worried. "Don't worry sister, I'm okay."

Vortak smiled at the girl as he shook her hand "I'm General Vortak Ma'am. I work with your sister" he explained.
Karol sighed "Butterfly, General Vortak is in charge of our entire military troops. He stayed here a few years just before your came for the first time, and has returned just a few days ago to recruit." she gave a small shake of her head, wonder just where her sister had gotten her personality.

Butterfly looked at the General with awe in her eyes. "So you mean you are the one who brings the people to war?" Butterfly hated the thought of war, but knew that it was needed to keep peace. "Sister, may I please request some tea?"

Vortak smiled at the awe. He was use to getting such looks from many of the boys and men in the city, but he hadn't expected the same look from a young girl.
Karol however, wasn't surprised at all. "Very well" she sighed. "But make sure to keep it in the palace this time Butterfly. Don't wonder off today, I have so much on my mind, I don't think I could take much from you today."

"May I take it to the trees?" Butterfly liked going into the trees. They were the only place she could pretend to be a normal girl.

Karol hesitated. She hated this kind of pressure. That was one of the reasons she hated being public, afraid of making the wrong choice. "Fine" she said finally "But don't go out the gate, and under no circumstances go up a tree!" she finished sternly.

Butterfly sighed, of course her sister would say that. "As you wish." Getting her tea, Butterfly went out to the tree grove, coming back in only a few moments later. "I changed my mind. I wanna stay inside."

"There are people outside. Commoners I think." Butterfly wasn't used to human contact, and it got worse with numbers. "I think they want the General."

Karol glanced over at Vortak who gave a small bow to the two of them, and walked outside. "Butterfly...why do they want him?"
